The Pragmatic Analysis on Discourse Power in Courtroom

Courtroom discourse is a typical institutional discourse, which reflects the complicated discourse purpose among the participants in courtroom, with several characteristics such as: asymmetry of power relation, complex directions of communication and complex meaning of utterance. Although courtroom discourse is restricted by special procedures or rules, it is still under the control of the cooperative principle and politeness principle. In order to achieve goals, the participants are bound to obey or violate the cooperative principle and politeness principle. This paper is based on the pragmatic theory, switching trial audio into words, trying to find out the purposes why the participants are liable to flout cooperative principle and use politeness and impoliteness strategies, in order to further explore the discourse power in courtroom. This essay not only broaden the perspective of pragmatic research, but reveal the communicative goal in terms of power relation. It will conducive to grasp the interaction conversation, so as to guarantee the fairness of court trial.

Exploration and Analysis on the Discourse Power of Network Moral Education

Network moral education has three connotations including discourse right,discourse power and discourse effectiveness,and four characteristics including interactivity,diversity,symbolism and implicity.These characteristics to a certain extent make the position and function between the subject and object of network education change,resulting in the discourse power and discourse effectiveness out of sync.Therefore,when solving these problems,we should take the ideological beliefs as the leading point,use the new media technology means,take the discourse power construction as the starting point,occupy the discourse highland and manifest the representation.At the same time,we should take life practice as the standard,change the discourse,break the implicity,and put the initiative of network moral education in the hands of educators.

The forum has become a high-level academic platform for human rights exchanges and cooperation on the basis of equality,harmony, tolerance, openness and mutual respect, and has played an important role in promoting the healthy development of the international human rights cause? With the socialism with chinese characteristics entering a new era, the beijing forum on Human Rights needs to position new roles in the new era, seek more clear development momentum and direction, and promote the vitality, cohesiveness and international influence of the forum in a deep and all-round way and contribute to the development of world human rights cause and global human rights governance?

Research on evaluation of network discourse power:Taking the Twitter accounts of Chinese diplomats as an example

[Purpose/Significance]Changes in network technology and the network environment have caused profound changes in the publication,dissemination,and influence of network discourses.The main body of a network discourse demonstrates the characteristics of civilians,which can impact the discourse power status of national discourse institutions.Research on the evaluation of network discourse power is conducive to clarifying the determinants of network discourse power and of considerable importance to the enhancement of the network discourse power of national public opinion institutions and improvement of the network environment.[Method/Process]First,this study explores the connotation of network discourse power and analyzes its generation process.Second,this study establishes a network discourse power evaluation indicator system and evaluation model based on information metrology and evaluation theory.Finally,this study conducts empirical research using the Twitter accounts of Chinese diplomats as the research object.[Result/Conclusion]Results show that the evaluation of network discourse power is a comprehensive evaluation of the network leading power,network communication power,and network influence of the main body of a network discourse.Moreover,the findings reveal that Chinese diplomats have a certain amount of network discourse power in society and demonstrate a trend of continuous improvement.

Research on the evaluation model and demonstration of patentee's discourse power:A case study of cyber security

With the deep meaning of discourse power in international relations,national discourse power has become an important manifestation of national soft power.This paper analyzes the main elements of the discourse power of patentee to speak,constructs the evaluation model,and selects the evaluation indexes related to the six characteristics according to the methods of patent measurement and social network analysis.In the empirical research stage,taking the field of network security as an example,the validity and reliability of the evaluation system are tested,and the accuracy of the evaluation results is tested by correlation.It is found that the evaluation system of discourse power of patentee to speak in the field of network security proposed in this paper is effective.

The Three-dimensional Model of “ConstructionTranslation-Communication” for the Construction of a Human Rights Discourse System with Chinese Characteristics in the Post-pandemic Era

Human rights have always been the focus of disputes between China and the West. To make a better China story about human rights and enhance China’s international discourse power in the field of human rights, we propose the text construction, translation and communication path of the construction of the human rights discourse system with Chinese characteristics from the cross-disciplinary perspective. Based on the examples of prevention and control of the CoVID-19 pandemic under the concept of putting people first, mainstream diplomatic linguistic data relevant to the fight against the novel coronavirus was collected through the internet. The human rights discourse with Chinese characteristics is constructed through a variety of texts focusing on putting the people first, the right to life, the right to health, the right to information, the right to privacy, the right to work and a sense of a community with a shared future for human beings. The core concepts of human rights have experienced the deepening process of decontextualization, abstraction and theorization to gradually conform to the expression habits of international audiences. The international communication effect is mainly positive in civil society. It shows that the construction of China’s human rights discourse system and the governance of international human rights discourse have achieved preliminary results. To enhance China’s discourse power on human rights, we need to add an interdisciplinary approach.

Gendered Stereotype under White Patriarchy in American Animation How to Train Your Dragon

American animation How to Train Your Dragon 1 & 2, loosely based on the British book series of the same name by Cressida Cowell, produced by American Dreamworks Animation, were released separately in 2010 and 2014. Those two animated films are set in a fictional Viking world and focusing on the experiences and adventures of protagonist Hiccup. Even though these two films are concerned with dragons, this paper discusses about the gendered stereotype under white patriarchy from the perspective of Foucault's power discourse theory. It mainly studies gendered stereotype and white patriarchal construction, revealing that the American animation, based on mass deception, is an evil machine to lead Chinese audiences to experience a complicated process to struggle with their own beliefs, values, ideas and hope.

Academic Discourse Right/Power and the Development of Chinese Sociology

As a kind of right （quanli 权利）, academic discourse rights include the right to create and innovate, to endow with meaning and to academic autonomy. As a kind of power （quanli权力）, it refers to the power to guide, judge, control and so on. These rights and powers have been pursued as Chinese sociology developed for over a century. At the inception of sociology in China, Yan Fu and other scholars experimented with localizing sociology and innovating academic discourse. Fei Xiaotong＇s life covered nearly 20 years of Chinese sociology＇s early development and another 56 years of its later development; his academic journey epitomizes the historical development of Chinese sociology. The only way for Chinese sociology to move from the periphery of world academia into the center is to endeavor, on the basis of theoretical self-consciousness, to seize the commanding heights of academic discourse rights.

The Relation between Regional Power Policies of Turkey and the Media Strategy of President Erdogan

This research investigates the relation between regional power policies of Turkey and the media strategy of President Erdogan.After the coup attempt on July 15,2016,the Justice and Development Party started to implement regional power policies,which are focusing on security affairs.The political power fell into the hands of the President.Regional power policies are used as a legitimised as a tool for the transition to authoritarianism.The main purpose of this transition is to suppress dissident voices by controlling the media.In this article,I argue that President Erdogan uses regional power policies as a tool to control the national media.The President is trying to create the image of a world leader for himself by using the pro-government media companies.Turkey's of natural gas,the Libya issue and the NATO Summit in Madrid will be discussed in terms of media's perspectives.
