The ecological problems of the Aral Sea have attracted widespread attention, and the alleviation of the Aral Sea ecological crisis has reached a consensus among the five Central Asian countries(Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan). In the past decades, many ecological management measures have been implemented for the ecological restoration of the Aral Sea. However, due to the lack of regional planning and zoning, the results are not ideal. In this study, we mapped the ecological zoning of the Aral Sea from the perspective of ecological restoration based on soil type, soil salinity, surface water, groundwater table, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI), land cover, and aerosol optical depth(AOD) data. Soil salinization and salt dust are the most prominent ecological problems in the Aral Sea. We divided the Aral Sea into 7 first-level ecological restoration subregions(North Aral Sea catchment area in the downstream of the Syr Darya River(Subregion Ⅰ);artificial flood overflow area in the downstream of the Aral Sea(Subregion Ⅱ);physical/chemical remediation area of the salt dust source area in the eastern part of the South Aral Sea(Subregion Ⅲ);physical/chemical remediation area of severe salinization in the central part of the South Aral Sea(Subregion Ⅳ);existing water surface and potential restoration area of the South Aral Sea(Subregion Ⅴ);Aral Sea vegetation natural recovery area(Subregion Ⅵ);and vegetation planting area with slight salinization in the South Aral Sea(Subregion Ⅶ)) and 14 second-level ecological restoration subregions according to the ecological zoning principles. Implementable measures are proposed for each ecological restoration subregion. For Subregion Ⅰ and Subregion Ⅱ with lower elevations, artificial flooding should be carried out to restore the surface of the Aral Sea. Subregion Ⅲ and Subregion Ⅳ have severe salinization, making it difficult for vegetation to grow. In these subregions, it is recommended to cover and pave the areas with green biomatrix coverings and environmentally sustainable bonding materials. In Subregion Ⅴ located in the central and western parts of the South Aral Sea, surface water recharge should be increased to ensure that this subregion can maintain normal water levels. In Subregion Ⅵ and Subregion Ⅶ where natural conditions are suitable for vegetation growth, measures such as afforestation and buffer zones should be implemented to protect vegetation. This study could provide a reference basis for future comprehensive ecological management and restoration of the Aral Sea.展开更多

文摘Ecological security patterns are paramount to the advancement of an ecological civilization in China, aiming to enhance the stability and service functions of ecosystems to achieve sustainable regional development. However, current regional ecological protection efforts have not been effectively integrated into the regional development planning of ecological security pattern. This study systematically assessed the effectiveness of ecological protection projects in Yanchi County,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,China, through the evaluation of landscape ecological quality.Based on the evaluation results of landscape ecological quality, this study used morphological pattern analysis(MSPA),minimum cumulative resistance(MCR)model, and gravity model together to construct the ecological security pattern of Yanchi County. The findings revealed that from 1990 to 2020,with the implementation of ecological protection projects started from 2000,the landscape stability of Yanchi County first decreased and then increased, and the intensity of landscape disturbance first intensified but then decreased, indicating an improvement in the landscape ecological quality and a significant enhancement of the ecological environment in Yanchi County. The ecological security pattern of Yanchi County consisted of 10 ecological sources,10 ecological source points,23 ecological corridors, and 27 ecological nodes. The ecological security pattern of Yanchi County exhibited distinct spatial variations, with stronger ecological security observed in the southern part than in northern part of the county. The ecological sources were denser in the southern part than in the northern part of the county, and accordingly, the length of ecological corridors was shorter and denser in the southern than that in the northern part of the county.Based on the spatial distribution of landscape ecological quality and the characteristics of ecological security pattern of Yanchi County in 2020,we suggested Yanchi County to build four zones to optimize the ecological security pattern construction:the Haba Lake ecological conservation zone, the urban ecological planning zone, the ecological environment restoration zone, and the ecological security improvement zone. This study can provide essential guidance for the construction of ecological security pattern in farming-pastoral areas both in China and worldwide.

文摘Land use/cover change(LUCC)constitutes the spatial and temporal patterns of ecological security, and the construction of ecological networks is an effective way to ensure ecological security.Exploring the spatial and temporal change characteristics of ecological network and analyzing the integrated relationship between LUCC and ecological security are crucial for ensuring regional ecological security.Gansu is one of the provinces with fragile ecological environment in China, and rapid changes in land use patterns in recent decades have threatened ecological security. Therefore, taking Gansu Province as the study area, this study simulated its land use pattern in 2050 using patch-generating land use simulation(PLUS)model based on the LUCC trend from 2000 to 2020 and integrated the LUCC into morphological spatial pattern analysis(MSPA)to identify ecological sources and extract the ecological corridors to construct ecological network using circuit theory. The results revealed that, according to the prediction results in 2050,the areas of cultivated land, forest land, grassland, water body, construction land, and unused land would be 63,447.52,39,510.80,148,115.18,4605.21,8368.89,and 161,752.40 km^(2),respectively.The number of ecological sources in Gansu Province would increase to 80,with a total area of 99,927.18 km^(2).The number of ecological corridors would increase to 191,with an estimated total length of 6120.66 km.Both ecological sources and ecological corridors showed a sparse distribution in the northwest and dense distribution in the southeast of the province at the spatial scale. The number of ecological pinch points would reach 312 and the total area would expect to increase to 842.84 km^(2),with the most pronounced increase in the Longdong region.Compared with 2020,the number and area of ecological barriers in 2050 would decrease significantly by 63 and 370.71 km^(2),respectively.In general, based on the prediction results, the connectivity of ecological network of Gansu Province would increase in 2050.To achieve the predicted ecological network in 2050,emphasis should be placed on the protection of cultivated land and ecological land, the establishment of ecological sources in desert areas, the reinforcement of the protection for existing ecological sources, and the construction of ecological corridors to enhance the stability of ecological network. This study provides valuable theoretical support and references for the future construction of ecological networks and regional land resource management decision-making.

文摘Understanding the ecological adaptation of tree species can not only reveal the evolutionary potential but also benefit biodiversity conservation under global climate change.Quercus is a keystone genus in Northern Hemisphere forests, and its wide distribution in diverse ecosystems and long evolutionary history make it an ideal model for studying the genomic basis of ecological adaptations. Here we used a newly sequenced genome of Quercus gilva,an evergreen oak species from East Asia, with 18 published Fagales genomes to determine how Fagaceae genomes have evolved, identify genomic footprints of ecological adaptability in oaks in general,as well as between evergreen and deciduous oaks.We found that oak species exhibited a higher degree of genomic conservation and stability,as indicated by the absence of large-scale chromosomal structural variations or additional whole-genome duplication events. In addition,we identified expansion and tandem repetitions within gene families that contribute to plant physical and chemical defense(e.g.,cuticle biosynthesis and oxidosqualene cyclase genes),which may represent the foundation for the ecological adaptation of oak species.Circadian rhythm and hormone-related genes may regulate the habits of evergreen and deciduous oaks. This study provides a comprehensive perspective on the ecological adaptations of tree species based on phylogenetic, genome evolutionary, and functional genomic analyses.

文摘Intercropping has been widely used in arid and semi-arid regions because of its high yield, stable productivity, and efficient utilization of resources. However,in recent years, the high yield of traditional intercropping is mainly attributed to the large amount of purchased resources such as water and fertilizer, plastic film, and mechanical power. These lead to a decline in cultivated land quality and exacerbate intercrops'premature root and canopy senescence. So,the application of traditional intercropping faces major challenges in crop production. This paper analyzes the manifestations, occurrence mechanisms, and agronomic regulatory pathways of crop senescence. The physiological and ecological characteristics of intercropping to delay root and canopy senescence of crops are reviewed in this paper. The main agronomic regulatory pathways of intercropping to delay root and canopy senescence of crops are based on above-and blow-ground interactions, including collocation of crop varieties, spatial arrangement, water and fertilizer management, and tillage and mulch practices.Future research fields of intercropping to delay root and canopy senescence should focus on the aspects of selecting and breeding special varieties, application of molecular biology techniques, and developing or applying models to predict and evaluate the root and canopy senescence process of intercrops.Comprehensive analysis and evaluation of different research results could provide a basis for enhancing intercropping delay root and canopy senescence through adopting innovative technologies for regulating the physio-ecological characteristics of intercrops. This would support developing and adopting high-yield,efficient,and sustainable intercropping systems in arid and semi-arid areas with high population density, limited land, and abundant light and heat resources.

文摘Research on the ecohydrological processes of terrestrial plants is a frontier field comprising ecology, hydrology and global change research, yielding the key theoretical foundations of ecohydrology. In karst areas, due to its unique geological background, the karst landscape is strongly developed, with high bedrock exposure, high permeability, fragmented soils, shallow soils, and high spatial heterogeneity, resulting in very limited water storage for plant uptake and growth in rock fissures and shallow soils. Therefore, water conditions are an important ecological factor influencing plant growth. To comprehensively understand the current progress and development trends in plant water use research focusing on karst areas, this paper uses the VOSviewer software to analyze the literature on plant water use in karst areas between 1984 and 2022.The results showed that:(1)Research on plant water use in karst areas has developed rapidly worldwide, and the number of relevant studies in the literature have increased year by year, which together means that it is attracting more and more attention.(2)The investigation of plant water sources, geological background of karst areas, seasonal arid tropical climates, the relationship betweenδ13C values and plant water use efficiency, karst plant water use in karst savannas and subtropical areas, and ecosystems under climate change yields the knowledge base in this field.(3)Most studies in this area focus on the division of water sources of plants in karst areas, the methods of studying the water use sources of plants, and the water use strategies and efficiency of plants.(4)Future research will focus on how plant water use in karst areas is influenced by Earth’s critical zones, climate change, and ecohydrological separation. These studies will provide a key scientific basis for guiding ecological restoration and promoting sustainable development in karst areas.

文摘This study focuses on urgent research on restoring and enhancing carbon storage capacity in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomer-ation of China,a key area in the‘Belt and Road’Initiative, which aligns with carbon peaking and neutrality goals. This research ana-lyzes the spatial characteristics of carbon metabolism from 2000 to 2020 and uses models to identify stable carbon sink areas, positive carbon flow corridors, and carbon sequestration nodes. The goal is to construct a carbon metabolism spatial security pattern(CMSSP)and propose territorial ecological restoration strategies under different development demand scenarios. The results show the following:1)in 2020,the study area’s carbon sink decreased by 8.29×10^(4) t C/yr compared with that in 2010 and by 10.83×10^(4) t C/yr compared with that in 2000.High-carbon sinks were found mainly in mountainous areas, whereas low-carbon sinks are concentrated in urban con-struction land, rural residential areas, and land margins.2)From 2000 to 2020,the spatial security pattern of carbon metabolism tended to be‘high in the middle of the east and west and low in the gulf.’In 2000,2010,and 2020,16 stable carbon sinks were identified. The carbon energy flow density in Guangxi was greater than that in Guangdong and Hainan, with positive carbon flow corridors located primarily in Guangxi and Guangdong. The number of carbon sequestration nodes remained stable at approximately 15,mainly in Guangxi and Hainan.3)Scenario simulations revealed that under the Nature-based mild restoration scenario, the carbon sink rate will reach 611.85×10^(4) t C/yr by 2030 and increase to 612.45×10^(4) t C/yr by 2060,with stable carbon sinks increasing to 18.In the restora-tion scenario based on Anti-globalization,the carbon sink will decrease from 610.24×10^(4) t C/yr in 2030 to 605.19×10^(4) t C/yr in 2060,with the disappearance of some positive carbon flow corridors and stable carbon sinks.Under the Human-based sustainable restoration scenario, the carbon sink area will decrease from 607.00×10^(4) t C/yr in 2030 to 596.39×10^(4) t C/yr in 2060,with carbon sink areas frag-menting and positive carbon flow corridors becoming less dense.4)On the basis of the current and predicted CMSSPs,this study ex-plores spatial ecological restoration strategies for high-carbon storage areas in bay urban agglomerations at four levels:the land control region, urban agglomeration structure system, carbon sink structure and bay structure control region.
文摘To identify the root causes of heavy metal contamination in soils as well as prevent and control such contamination from its sources, this study explored the accumulation patterns and ecological risks of heavy metals like Cd and Pb in solid waste in mining areas and across the water body, sediment, soil and agricultural product ecosystem surrounding the mining areas.Focusing on the residual solid waste samples in lead-zinc deposits in a certain area of Guizhou Province, along with samples of topsoils, irrigation water, river sediments, and crops from surrounding areas. This study analyzed the distributions of eight heavy metals,i.e.,Cd,As,Cr,Hg,Pb,Zn,Cu,and Ni,in the samples through field surveys and sample tests.Furthermore, this study assessed the contamination levels and ecological risks of heavy metals in soils, sediments, and agricultural products using methods such as the single-factor index,Nemerow composite index, and potential ecological risk assessment. The results indicate that heavy metals in the solid waste samples all exhibited concentrations exceeding their risk screening values, with 60%greater than their risk intervention values. The soils and sediments demonstrate slight and moderate comprehensive ecological risks of heavy metals. The single-factor potential ecological risks of heavy metals in both the soil and sediment samples decreased in the order of Hg,Cd,Pb,As,Cu,Zn,Cr,and Ni,suggesting the same sources of heavy metals in the soils and sediments. Most of the agricultural product samples exhibited over-limit concentrations of heavy metals dominated by Cd,Pb,Ni,and Cr,excluding Hg and As.The agricultural product assessment using the Nemerow composite index reveals that 35%of the agricultural product samples reached the heavy metal contamination level, implying that the agricultural products from farmland around the solid waste dumps have been contaminated with heavy metals. The eight heavy metals in the soil, sediment, and agricultural product samples manifested high coefficients of variation(CVs),indicating pronounced spatial variability. This suggests that their concentrations in soils, sediments, and agricultural products are significantly influenced by human mining activities.Additionally, the agricultural products exhibit strong transport and accumulation capacities for Cd,Cu,and Zn.

文摘A substantial reduction in groundwater level, exacerbated by coal mining activities,is intensifying water scarcity in western China’s ecologically fragile coal mining areas.China’s national strategic goal of achieving a carbon peak and carbon neutrality has made eco-friendly mining that prioritizes the protection and efficient use of water resources essential.Based on the resource characteristics of mine water and heat hazards,an intensive coal-water-thermal collaborative co-mining paradigm for the duration of the mining process is proposed. An integrated system for the production, supply, and storage of mining companion resources is achieved through technologies such as roof water inrush prevention and control, hydrothermal quality improvement, and deep-injection geological storage. An active preventive and control system achieved by adjusting the mining technology and a passive system centered on multiobjective drainage and grouting treatment are suggested,in accordance with the original geological characteristics and dynamic process of water inrush.By implementing advanced multi-objective drainage, specifically designed to address the“skylight-type”water inrush mode in the Yulin mining area of Shaanxi Province,a substantial reduction of 50%in water drillings and inflow was achieved, leading to stabilized water conditions that effectively ensure subsequent safe coal mining. An integrated-energy complementary model that incorporates the clean production concept of heat utilization is also proposed. The findings indicate a potential saving of 8419 t of standard coal by using water and air heat as an alternative heating source for the Xiaojihan coalmine, resulting in an impressive energy conservation of 50.2%and a notable 24.2%reduction in carbon emissions. The ultra-deep sustained water injection of 100 m^(3)·h^(-1)in a single well would not rupture the formation or cause water leakage, and 7.87×10^(5)t of mine water could be effectively stored in the Liujiagou Formation, presenting a viable method for mine-water management in the Ordos Basin and providing insights for green and low-carbon mining.

文摘The Aral Sea was the fourth largest lake in the world but it has shrunk dramatically as a result of irrational human activities, triggering the "Aral Sea ecological crisis". This study could provide a reference basis for future comprehensive ecological management and restoration of the Aral Sea.

文摘Genus Microcystis is the most common dominant species of bloom-forming cyanobacteria.Growth and colony formation are critical processes for the occurrence of Microcystis blooms. To identify allelochemicals that can inhibit the growth and colony formation of Microcystis,Microcystis aeruginosa was cultivated and treated with various concentrations of gramine, catechol, berberine, and sanguinarine in laboratory. Results indicate that the growth, colony formation, and extracellular polysaccharides(EPS)content of Microcystis were significantly inhibited when treated with gramine, catechol, and berberine in appropriate concentrations at high iron level(6.8 mg/L).Microcystis growth was inhibited and colony formation and EPS content were promoted when treated with sanguinarine at high iron level. These findings suggest that cyanobacterial blooms can be controlled by regulating the input of gramine, catechol, and berberine.Furthermore, this study revealed that plant allelochemicals could affect the growth and morphology of algae in aquatic ecological restoration, which may be potentially important for improving water quality.

文摘Prunus serotina and Robinia pseudoacacia are the most widespread invasive trees in Central Europe. In addition, according to climate models, decreased growth of many economically and ecologically important native trees will likely be observed in the future. We aimed to assess the impact of these two neophytes, which differ in the biomass range and nitrogen-fixing abilities observed in Central European conditions,on the relative aboveground biomass increments of native oaks Qucrcus robur and Q.petraea and Scots pine Pinus sylvestris. We aimed to increase our understanding of the relationship between facilitation and competition between woody alien species and overstory native trees. We established 72 circular plots(0.05 ha)in two different forest habitat types and stands varying in age in western Poland. We chose plots with different abundances of the studied neophytes to determine how effects scaled along the quantitative invasion gradient.Furthermore,we collected growth cores of the studied native species, and we calculated aboveground biomass increments at the tree and stand levels. Then,we used generalized linear mixed-effects models to assess the impact of invasive species abundances on relative aboveground biomass increments of native tree species. We did not find a biologically or statistically significant impact of invasive R.pseudoacacia or P.serotina on the relative aboveground, biomass increments of native oaks and pines along the quantitative gradient of invader biomass or on the proportion of total stand biomass accounted for by invaders. The neophytes did not act as native tree growth stimulators but also did not compete with them for resources, which would escalate the negative impact of climate change on pines and oaks. The neophytes should not significantly modify the carbon sequestration capacity of the native species. Our work combines elements of the per capita effect of invasion with research on mixed forest management.

文摘Ecosystem degradation is one of the critical constraints for the sustainable development of our planet. However, recovering an ecosystem to a pre-impairment condition is often not practical. The International Restoration Standards provide the first framework for practical guidance on what constitutes the process of ecological repair and how this repair process can be influenced to improve net ecological benefits. In these Standards,Restorative Continuum is highlighted and it recognises that many do not,yet there is still value in aspiring to improvements to the highest extent possible, with some sites potentially being able to be improved in a stepwise manner. Here we elaborate on these Standards by providing a cross-ecosystem theoretical framework of Stepwise Ecological Restoration(STERE)for promoting higher environmental benefits.STERE allows the selection of suitable restorative modes by considering the degree of degradation while encouraging a transition to a higher state. These models include environmental remediation for completely modified and degraded ecosystems, ecological rehabilitation for highly modified and degraded ecosystems, and ecological restoration for degraded native ecosystems.STERE requires selecting tailored restorative modes, setting clear restorative targets and reference ecosystems, applying a systematic-thinking approach, and implementing a continuous monitoring program at all process stages to achieve a resilient trajectory.STERE allows adaptive management in the context of climate change, and when the evidence is available,to“adapt to the future”to ensure climate resilience. The STERE framework could assist in initiating and implementing restoration projects worldwide, especially in developing countries.

文摘Vegetation greening has long been acknowledged, but recent studies have pointed out that vegetation greening is possibly stalled or even reversed. However, detailed analyses about greening reversal or increased browning of vegetation remain scarce. In this study,we utilized the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)as an indicator of vegetation to investigate the trends of vegetation greening and browning(monotonic, interruption, and reversal)through the breaks for the additive season and trend(BFAST)method across China’s drylands from 1982 to 2022.It also reveals the impacts of ecological restoration programs(ERPs)and climate change on these vegetation trends. We find that the vegetation displays an obvious pattern of east-greening and west-browning in China’s drylands.Greening trends mainly exhibits monotonic greening(29.8%)and greening with setback(36.8%),whereas browning shows a greening to browning reversal(19.2%).The increase rate of greening to browning reversal is 0.0342/yr,which is apparently greater than that of greening with setback,0.0078/yr.This research highlights that, under the background of widespread vegetation greening, vegetation browning is pro-gressively increasing due to the effects of climate change.Furthermore, the ERPs have significantly increased vegetation coverage, with the increase rate in 2000-2022 being twice as much as that of 1982-1999 in reveg-etation regions.Vegetation browning in southwestern Qingzang Plateau is primarily driven by adverse climatic factors and anthropogenic disturbances, which offset the efforts of ERPs.

文摘Carbon peak and carbon neutrality(dual-carbon)are important targets for the international response to climate change. The Silk Road Economic Belt is a strategic resource region and is important for future ecological environment and tourism development.Based on the“dual-carbon”targets,the Single index quantification,Multiple index synthesis, and Poly-criteria integration evaluation model were used in this study to measure the coordinated development index of the ecological environment, public service, and tourism economy along the Silk Road Economic Belt and to analyze its spatial and temporal evolution.Further,it explores the dynamic evolution and development trend of the three systems using the Kernel Density and Grey Markov Prediction Model. The results show that the coordinated development index along this region needs to be improved during the study period.Furthermore, the coordinated development index of the Southwest region is relatively higher than that of the Northwest region. From the development trend of the three systems, all of them develop in a stable manner;however, the tourism economy system is easily affected by external disturbances. The coordinated development index of the three systems changes dynamically and tends to be in a good state of coordination. There is a certain spatial and temporal heterogeneity. The gravity center of the coordinated development index has been in the Southwest region.During the forecast period, the coordinated development index along this region will improve significantly, while insufficient and unbalanced development will continue.
文摘Although urbanization poses various threats to avifauna, some bird species, including Mallards(Anas platyrhynchos),choose towns and cities as their wintering habitats, possibly due to favourable temperatures and abundant anthropogenic food.In this study,we investigated how population dynamics changed in relation to winter harshness and intensity of supplementary bird feeding in Mallard,a dabbing duck species well adapted to an urban environment. We surveyed 15 city ponds for five consecutive years, counting overwintering individuals and incidents of bird feeding conducted by the citizens of Gda′nsk.Number of Mallards observed in the studied area fluctuated both annually and within seasons, with on average 327(±SD=108.5)individuals and a malebiased sex ratio reported. We observed a gradient of feeding intensity on the surveyed ponds, with number of feeding incidents ranging from 0 to 30 in a day.The results indicated that the number of Mallards increased with the bird feeding intensity, independently of the size of the studied ponds, and both males and females were similarly attracted by food provisioning.More severe wintering conditions, expressed by the percentage of the ice cover of studied ponds resulted in more birds wintering in the urban area. This effect was more pronounced in females compared to males, possibly due to females having a lower ability to withstand severe wintering conditions, forcing them to relocate towards urban areas. Our results confirm that urbanized areas may serve as wintering grounds for birds, due to additional food resources available there and milder wintering conditions compared to surrounding rural areas.

文摘Desertification has had a significant impact on the ecological environment of the Yellow River Basin(YRB)in China. However, previous studies on the evaluation of the ecological environment quality(EEQ)in the YRB have paid limited attention to the indicator of desertification. It is of great significance to incorporate the desertification index into the spatiotemporal assessment of the EEQ in the YRB in order to protect the ecological environment in the region. In this study, based on multi-source remote sensing data from 91 cities in the YRB,this article proposes a desertification remote sensing ecological index(DRSEI)model, which builds upon the traditional Remote Sensing Ecological Index(RSEI)model,to analyze the spatiotemporal changes in the EEQ in the YRB from 2001 to 2021.Furthermore,using the geographic detector(GD),and geographically and temporally weighted regression(GTWR)model, the study assesses the impact of human and natural factors on the EEQ in the YRB.The research findings indicate that:(1)Compared to the traditional RSEI,the improved DRSEI shows a decreasing trend in the evaluation results of the EEQ.Among the 24 cities, the change in DRSEI exceeds 0.05 compared to RSEI,accounting for 26.37%of the YRB.The remaining 67 cities have changes within a range of less than 0.05,accounting for 73.63%of the YRB.(2)The results of the GD for individual and interactive effects reveal that rainfall and elevation have significant individual and interactive effects on the EEQ.Furthermore, after the interaction with natural factors, the explanatory power of human factors gradually increases over time. The spatial heterogeneity results of GTWR demonstrate that rainfall has a strong direct positive impact on the EEQ,accounting for 98.90%of the influence, while temperature exhibits a more pronounced direct inhibitory effect, accounting for 76.92%of the influence.Human activities have a strong negative impact on the EEQ and a weak positive impact.

文摘For regional ecological management,it is important to evaluate the quality of ecosystems and analyze the underlying causes of ecological changes.Using the Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform, the remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)was calculated for the Lijiang River Basin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for 1991,2001,2011,and 2021.Spatial autocorrelation analysis was employed to investigate spatiotemporal variations in the ecological environmental quality of the Lijiang River Basin.Furthermore, geographic detectors were used to quantitatively analyze influencing factors and their interaction effects on ecological environmental quality. The results verified that:1)From 1991 to 2021,the ecological environmental quality of the Lijiang River Basin demonstrated significant improvement. The area with good and excellent ecological environmental quality in proportion increased by 19.69%(3406.57 km^(2)),while the area with fair and poor ecological environmental quality in proportion decreased by 10.76%(1860.36 km^(2)).2)Spatially,the ecological environmental quality of the Lijiang River Basin exhibited a pattern of low quality in the central region and high quality in the periphery.Specifically, poor ecological environmental quality characterized the Guilin urban area,Pingle County, and Lingchuan County.3)From 1991 to 2021,a significant positive spatial correlation was observed in ecological environmental quality of the Lijiang River Basin.Areas with high-high agglomeration were predominantly forests and grasslands, indicating good ecological environmental quality, whereas areas with low-low agglomeration were dominated by cultivated land and construction land, indicating poor ecological environmental quality.4)Annual average precipitation and temperature exerted the most significant influence on the ecological environmental quality of the basin, and their interactions with other factors had the great influence. This study aimed to enhance understanding of the evolution of the ecological environment in the Lijiang River Basin of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and provide scientific guidance for decision-making and management related to ecology in the region.

文摘Mountains exhibit a high degree of endemism and diversity, however, quantifying their biodiversity can be challenging.Similar to islands, species isolation in mountainous regions results in comparable patterns of evolution and extinction, rendering their biodiversity unique and highly susceptible to anthropogenic threats. The topographic relief in mountains plays a crucial role in creating habitat complexity, which in turn contribute to high plant diversity. Here,we investigated plant diversity in the volcano mountaintop vegetation on the Poços de Caldas Plateau,a region situated in the ecotone between the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado, characterized by natural radiation and significant anthropogenic intervention. We employed an automated approach through the filtering of georeferenced and non-georeferenced data to obtain a list of plant species in the region.Additionally,we statistically investigated the similarity among different high-altitude vegetations belonging to the campos de altitude from the Atlantic Forest and campos rupestres from the Cerrado. The plateau exhibits high plant diversity, including 1,659 specific and infraspecific taxa, especially belonging to Asteraceae and Poaceae. Our analyses suggest that geographical distance is a strong predictor of dissimilarity and that the Poços de Caldas Plateau is more floristically related to the campos rupestres, despite being associated with campos de altitude. The region possesses a unique set of biodiversity, indicating that it may be a distinct formation.Additionally,we hypothesize that Pleistocene events likely influenced the conformation of the current floristic composition in the region through species interchange between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest. Our study also highlights the few taxa assessed for conservation status and anthropogenic threats that this habitat is facing.
