Q-switched Nd:YAG laser was used for the peripheral iridotomy in 68 cases(80 eyes) of primary angle closed glaucoma. The average number of laser shots is 20.5(1～127 shots), and the average shot energy is 2.5 mJ(0.9～5.6mJ). The successful rate of iris penetration is about 97.6%. Clinical Study on the Treatment Efficacy of Cerebral Hemorrhage with Xingnaojing Injection in Real World

Objective:The purpose of this study was to understand the clinical efficacy of Xingnaojing Injection in the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage in the real world.Methods:The hospitalized patients with cerebral hemorrhage mainly diagnosed in the hospital information system(HIS)of 223 A hospitals in the country were selected as the research subjects.The patients with cerebral hemorrhage using Xingnaojing Injection were used as the Xingnaojing group.The group was matched with the same sex,age±5 years old,similar hospital admission conditions,matched according to 1:1 ratio.The patients with cerebral hemorrhage without using Xingnaojing Injection were used as the control group,and the therapeutic effects after treatment were used as outcome evaluation index.A total of 3 Logistic regression methods were used to analyze the effects of Xingnaojing Injection in the treatment outcome of patients with cerebral hemorrhage.Results:The statistical results showed that there was a difference in the efficacy of the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage by the use of Xingnaojing Injection(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on the existing analytical methods and data,the effects of Xingnaojing Injection on cerebral hemorrhage are better than that of the non-use control group,which provides reference for the clinical drug use of cerebral hemorrhage.

Efficacy Evaluation of a Compound Plant Extract Used in Makeup Base

Cytological test and human skin test were used to study the antioxidant,anti-aging and moisturizing effects of a compound plant extract,and to evaluate its safety.The cytological test results showed that the compound extract could significantly scavenge the reactive oxygen species(ROS)generated by H2O2 stimulation and protect cells from oxidative damage.It can significantly inhibit the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1(MMP-1).The results of human skin test showed that the moisture content of cheek stratum corneum,R2 value and Q1 value of skin elasticity were significantly improved after 28 days of continuous use of the Makeup Base product added with the compound plant extract.The Ra value,Rz value and Rt value of skin texture around eyes have been significantly improved,which shows that the product has the effects of improving the moisture content of stratum corneum,improving skin elasticity and diminishing the fine lines around the eyes;the product has good safety.

Citrus peel extract and powder attenuate hypercholesterolemia and hyperglycemia using rodent experimental modeling

Objective: To investigate hypocholesterolemic and hypoglycemic potential of citrus peel extract and powder using rodent experimental modeling.Methods: Considering the fact, rat feeding trial was carried out for a period of 56 d to access the prophylaxis of citrus peel flavonoids by employing normal(study Ⅰ),hyperglycemic(study Ⅱ) and hypercholesterolemic(study Ⅲ) rats. Each study was further divided into three groups to ensure the provision of selected diets, i.e.,control, functional and nutraceutical diets. Each study was further divided into three groups to ensure the provision of selected diets, i.e., control, functional and nutraceutical diets.Results: Declining trend for total cholesterol was observed in all studies with maximum reduction(8.55%) in rat group fed on nutraceutical diet in study Ⅲ. Likewise, levels of low density lipoproteins and triglycerides reduced 11.39% and 7.89% respectively in hypercholesterolemic rats. Moreover, nutraceutical diet alleviated the sera glucose level by 8.96% in study Ⅱ.Conclusions: Conclusively, inclusion of citrus peel bioflavonoids in dietary therapies is a promising strategy to modulate lipidemic and glycemic attributes without imparting any deleterious effect on hematological parameters.

External Validation of SENIC and NNIS Scores for Predicting Wound Infection in Colorectal Surgery

Objective: We aimed to identify the ratio of Surgical Site Infection (SSI) and also the validity of the National Nosocomial Infection Survellance (NNIS) and Study on the Efficacy of Nosocomial Infection Control (SENIC) risk indexes in colorectal surgery, among Turkish population. Background: Some problems have been reported with the power of NNIS risk index to predict the risk of surgical site infection. We aimed to validate theNNIS and SENIC risk indexes in colorectal surgery. Methods: Between January 2003 and December 2006, surgical site ?nfection survellance was performed to 107 patient who undergo colorectal surgery with NNIS and SENIC risk scales. The mean patient age was 48 years (range, 17 to 86), and 61.7% of the group (66) was female. For this patient cohort, 6 (5.6%) were diagnosed with incisional SSI. While the mean Body Mass Index (BMI) of all patients was 26.6;mean value of BMI among the patiens with SSI was 27.8.Results: 6 insicional surgical site infection were observed during the study. According to Receiver Operating Characteric (ROC) curve analyze neither NNIS with avalue of 0.70, nor SENIC with a value of 0.67 are perfect risk indexes. Conclusion: As a result both NNIS and SENIC ?s a good risk indexes but not perfect. Scarcely when NNIS and SENIC is used together to predict the SSI they forecast the development of infection better. But there is a lot of other factors that effect the development of SSI, so for excellent surveillance risk index those factors known by everyone must be added to risk index scales.

The aim was to investigate whether using a removing blood stasis method in hyperacute intracranial hemorrhage stage can lead to hematoma enlargement and its clinical efficacy.A multicenter retrospective randomized double-blind placebo-controlled clinical study.We recruited patients aged 18 years or older and presenting at less than 6 h from symptom onset in 8 research centers.All the patients
