It is still a challenging task to accurately and temperature-continuously express the thermodynamic properties and phase equilibrium behaviors of the salt-lake brine with multi-component,multitemperature and high conc...It is still a challenging task to accurately and temperature-continuously express the thermodynamic properties and phase equilibrium behaviors of the salt-lake brine with multi-component,multitemperature and high concentration.The essential subsystem of sulfate type brine,aqueous Li^(+)-Na^(+)-K^(+)-SO_(4)^(2-) and its subsystems across a temperature range from 250 K to 643 K are investigated with the improved comprehensive thermodynamic model.Liquid parameters(Δg_(IJ),Δh_(IJ),and ΔC_(p,IJ))associated with the contributions of Gibbs energy,enthalpy,and heat capacity to the binary interaction parameters,i.e.the temperature coefficients of eNRTL parameters formulated with a Gibbs Helmholtz expression,are determined via multi-objective optimization method.The solid constantsΔ_(f)G_(k)°^((298.15))andΔ_(f)H_(k)°^((298.15))of11 solid species occurred in the quaternary system are rebuilt from multi-temperature solubilities.The modeling results show the accurate representation of(1)solution properties and binary phase diagram at temperature ranges from eutectic points to 643 K;(2)isothermal phase diagrams for Li_(2)SO_(4)-Na_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O,Li_(2)SO_(4)-K_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O and Na_(2)SO_(4)-K_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O ternary systems.The predicted results of complete structure and polythermal phase diagram of ternary systems and the isothermal phase diagrams of quaternary system excellently match with the experimental data.展开更多

This tool is built based on the advanced stellar population synthesis(ASPS) model, in which single stars, binary stars, rotating stars and star formation history have been taken into account. Via Powerful CMD, the distance modulus, color excess, metallicity, age, binary fraction, rotating star fraction and star formation history of star clusters can be determined simultaneously from observed CMDs. The new tool is tested via both simulated and real star clusters. Five parameters of clusters NGC 6362, NGC 6652, NGC 6838 and M67 are determined and compared to other works. It is shown that this tool is useful for CMD studies, in particular for those utilizing data from the Hubble Space Telescope(HST). Moreover, we find that inclusion of binaries in theoretical stellar population models may lead to smaller color excess compared to the case of single-star population models.展开更多

The stars of the cluster have been observed using the Newtonian focus (f/4.84) of the 74...BVRI CCD photometry of the poorly studied open cluster NGC 6724 has been carried out down to a limiting magnitude of V-20 mag. The stars of the cluster have been observed using the Newtonian focus (f/4.84) of the 74-inch telescope at Kottamia Astronomical Observatory in Egypt. Also, the 2MASS - JHK system is used to confirm the results we obtained. The main photometric parameters have been estimated for the present object; the diameter is found to be 6 arcmin, the distance is 15304-60pc from the Sun and the age is 900+50Myr. The optical reddening E(B - V) = 0.65 mag, while the infrared reddening is E(J - H) = 0.20 mag. The slope of the mass function distribution and the relaxation time estimations indicate that cluster NGC 6724 is dynamically relaxed.展开更多

In the present study, the E-pO^2- diagram for rare earth elements in molten Li Cl-KCl at 450 oC were developed based available experimental data. E-pO^2- diagrams could show the stability of each chemical compound in the salt, and therefore, the diagrams could be applied to predict experimental conditions for electro-reduction of spent nuclear fuel efficiently. Compared with the available E-pO^2-diagrams, the present study concerned the activity coefficient of the element studied in the molten salt in all reactions, which made the diagram be more reliable and accurate.展开更多
The problem of determining the masses and ages of T Tauri star (TTS) using their evolu- tionary status is discussed. We test four pre-main sequence evolutionary models using well determined observational parameters ...The problem of determining the masses and ages of T Tauri star (TTS) using their evolu- tionary status is discussed. We test four pre-main sequence evolutionary models using well determined observational parameters of 12 binary TTSs and two binary red dwarfs. It is shown that the masses derived using the tracks of all models are in good agreement with flhe masses obtained from the obser- vations of TTSs with masses M 〉 0.7 Me (mean error ε,- 10%). Low-mass stars with M ≤ 0.7 M⊙ have significantly greater mean error; e - 50% for the tracks of Bressan et al. and Chen et al., and e - 30% for the other tracks. The isochrones of all tested evolutionary models diverge for stars with masses M ≤ 0.7 M⊙. The difference increases with the mass decrease and can reach 10% of Kelvin- Helmholtz time for stars with mass M = 0.2 Me. The ages of most of the considered TTSs are smaller than the Kelvin-Helmholtz time. This confirms their evolutionary status of being pre-main sequence stars.展开更多

The observational instability strip almost overlaps with the theoretical one, but the observed blue and red envelopes are hotter than the theoretical edges. The bastnaesite used in hydrometallurgy usually contains 7%-11% fluorine,and the conversion of fluorine into high-value products is the key to achieving green production of rare earths and improving the comprehensive ...The bastnaesite used in hydrometallurgy usually contains 7%-11% fluorine,and the conversion of fluorine into high-value products is the key to achieving green production of rare earths and improving the comprehensive utilization of bastnaesite.In order to recover fluorine from bastnaesite in the form of KBF4,the mechanism of F^(-)conversion to BF^(4-)in sulphuric acid leaching solution of roasted bastnaesite was studied by using Eh-pH diagram and simulation experiment.It shows that the formation of BF^(4-)is affected by pH in the absence of rare earths.BF^(4-)is hydrolyzed to BF3 OH-and F-when the pH is greater than 3.9,and part of F-exists as HF^(2-)when pH is lower than 2.In the presence of La^(3+),the formation of BF^(4-)is mainly affected by LaF_(3) when pH is greater than 0,and in the case that the pH is lower than 2,it is mainly affected by HF^(2-).When Ce4+is present in solution,CeF_(2)^(2+) can exist stably in sulphuric acid solution.Bringing down the pH can reduce the stability of CeF_(2)^(2+) and increase the BF^(4-)conversion rate.Based on these results,KBF4 was prepared in the alkaline solution of bastnaesite,and the conversion of BF^(4-)is 84.31%.This provides a theoretical basis for the recovery of fluorine from bastnaesite in the form of KBF_(4).展开更多
