The theory of elasticity was applied to obtain the exact solutions of the cylinder subjected simultaneously to thermal and electric loadings. As an application, these solutions have been success- fully used to study the inverse problems of the material. A feasible method was proposed to improve the vibration intensity of screen surface via application of a new type elastic screen surface with multi degree of freedom(NTESSMDF). In the NTESSMDF, the primary robs were coupled to the main screen structure with ends embedded into the elastomers, and the secondary robs were attached to adjacent two primary robs with elastic bands. The dynamic model of vibrating screen with NTESSMDF was established based on Lagrange's equation and the equivalent stiffnesses of the elastomer and elastic band were calculated. According to numerical simulation using the 4th order Runge-Kutta method, the vibration intensity of screen surface can be enhanced substantially with an averaged acceleration amplitude increasing ratio of 72.36%. The primary robs and secondary robs vibrate inversely in steady state, which would result in the friability of materials and avoid stoppage. The experimental results validate the dynamic characteristics with acceleration amplitude rising by62.93% on average, which demonstrates the feasibility of NTESSMDF. 展开更多

First, baxic equations for simple wares and shock waves are presented for a general strain energy junction. Then the characteristic ware speeds and the associated characteristic vectors are deduced. It is shown that there usually exist two simple waves and two shock wares. Finally, two examples are given for the case of plane strain deformation and antiplane strain deformation, respectively. It is proved that, in the case of plane strain deformation, the oblique reflection problem of a plane shock is not solvable in general. 展开更多

The hydraulic elastic bulging roll system is a new roll system being developed in recent years.It is the first time in home that dead load test and study on this system has been made.Based on the experiment,the analysis solution of the bulging convexity of the hydraulic elastic bulging roll was obtained by selecting appropriate displacement function and adopting inverse solution of the elasticity theory.In evaluating,a variable displacement function and its solving method was advanced.The analysis results are in accord with the experiment's.Some conclusions have laid the foundation of establishing close-loop controlled mathematical model of the hydraulic elastic bulging roll system. 展开更多

Considering the combined loads acting on the shielding blocks during ITER plasma operation, the structure of the shielding blocks must be evaluated. Using the finite element method with ANSYS analysis software, static structural analysis is performed, including elastic analysis and limit analysis for one typical shielding block. The evaluated results based on RCC-MR code show that the structure of this shielding block can meet the design requirement. 展开更多

Materials with a negative Poisson's ratio(PR)are called auxetics;they are characterized by expansion/contraction when tensioned/compressed.Given this counterintuitive behavior,they present very particular characteristics and mechanical behavior.Geometrical models have been developed to justify and artificiall reproduce such materials' auxetic behavior.The focus of this study is the exploration of a reentrant model by analyzing the variation in the PR of reentrant structures as a function of geometrical and base material parameters.It is shown that,even in the presence of protruding ribs,there may not be auxetic behavior,and this depends on the geometry of each reentrant structure.Values determined for these parameters can be helpful as approximate reference data in the design and fabrication of auxetic lattices using reentrant geometries. 展开更多

The effects of socio-demographics, land use characteristics and trip attributes on the commute mode choice are studied with a nested logit (NL) model. Based on the random utility maximum theory, the NL model is formulated. The analysis is carried out in the main area of Nanjing. Direct and cross elasticities are calculated to analyze the effects of travel time and travel cost on the selection of travel mode choice. The results reveal that the non-motorized travel modes are more attractive in the areas with higher housing and employment accessibility and car owners are found to be more likely to commute to work by car. The bus and subway choice probabilities are more sensitive to changes in travel times than to changes in travel costs. In conclusion, a comprehensive public transit system and effective integration of land use and transportation policies help to relieve the traffic congestion levels caused by the increasing urban sprawl. 展开更多

In this paper a new 2D-FGM material model based on Mori-Tanaka scheme and third-order transition function has been developed for a thick hollow cylinder of finite length.Elastic mechanical stress analysis is performed by utilizing the finite element method.The corresponding material,displacement and stress distributions are evaluated for different values of nr and nz.Moreover,the effects of different material property distributions on the effective stress with respect to the metallic phase volume fraction are investigated.It is demonstrated that the increase in nr and V_m leads to a significant reduction in the effective stress.Finally,it is shown that the ceramic phase rich cylinder wall has lower maximum effective stresses of which the lowest value of effective stress has been evaluated for nr=20 and nz=5.This minimum value is about half the maximum effective stress which has been evaluated for the non-FGM cylinder case(nr=nz=0.1). 展开更多

Taking an elastic sphere for example, the acoustic scattering of a submerged object illuminated by a Bessel beam is studied. The partial wave series representation for an elastic sphere has been extended to the case of Bessel beam scattering. Referring to the scattering of a plane wave, the peak to peak intervals in backscattering form function caused by the interference of the specular wave and the Franz wave have been analyzed in geometry. The influence of the characteristic parameterβ of a Bessel beam on the peak to peak intervals has been indicated, and a predictive formula of the the first time. Meanwhile the elastic scattering peak to peak intervals has been established for of each partial wave has been separated based on the Resonance Scattering Theory. The influence of β on the pure elastic resonance has been studied further. The results show that selecting specific β can reduce the contribution of a certain partial wave. Therefore the resonance at the corresponding frequency and the nearby region in the backscattering is remarkably suppressed. The work of this paper could be helpful to the applications of Bessel beams on the acoustic detection of submerged objects. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of Shoushen granule,Chinese herbal preparation,on carotid artery elasticity in patients with carotid atherosclerosis.METHODS: The total of 156 carotid atherosclerosis patients were randomly divided into the intervention group(83 cases,treated with Shoushen granule) and the control group(73 cases,treated with pravastatin). Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(ba PWV) and Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index(ABI)were measured by automated arteriosclerosis detector. The changes of common carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) and parameters of the carotid artery elasticity in patients,including stiffness parameter(β),pressure-strain elastic modulus(Ep),arterial compliance(Ac),augmentation index(AI),and pulse wave velocity β(PWVβ) were detected by Echo-Tracking(ET) technique before and after 24 week treatment. In the meantime,levels of blood lipid,and liver and renal function were measured respectively.RESULTS: After 24 weeks,ba PWV,IMT and parameters of the carotid artery elasticity(β,Ep,AI and PWVβ) were markedly decreased in intervention group compared with those of before treatment(P < 0.01),but the level of Ac was increased significantly(P < 0.01). And there were no significant differences compared with control group on the same period(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: In this pilot study,it was demonstrated ET technology and automated arteriosclerosis detector could be used to evaluate carotid artery elasticity effectively,and the action of Shoushen granule on carotid atherosclerosis might be related to the regulation of carotid artery elasticity. 展开更多

In order to explore the relationship between urban construction land and economic development, this paper uses a decoupling model to analyze the decoupling relationship between expansion of urban construction land and economic growth in Jilin Province. The results show that from 2000 to 2015, the decoupling of urban construction land expansion and economic growth in Jilin province tended to be reasonable. The paper divides urban decoupling into three categories. The first type consists of ideal cities, including Liaoyuan and Baishan. The second type includes basic ideal cities like Changchun, Tonghua, Songyuan, Baicheng, and Yanbian. The third type consists of non-ideal cities, including Jilin and Siping. This paper puts forward relevant measures to promote the further decoupling of construction land expansion and economic growth in order to realize the sustainable use of land resources. 展开更多
