First of all, the box of the PCM i...In order to improve the electromagnetic compatibility of powertrain control module (PCM), a system procedure of vehicular PCM electromagnetic alteration is presented in this paper. First of all, the box of the PCM is divided into different cabins to eliminate interferences between power supply circuit, analog circuit and digital circuit. Secondly, the working principle and electromagnetic (EM) characters of all the signals adopted by a typical PCM are analyzed. Then according to specific electromagnetic characters, different measures are adopted in corresponding signal process circuits or signal transfer cables, such as ground layout designing, power supply protecting, signal shielding and drive cable interference suppressing. Finally, further improvement may also needed regarding to practical electromagnetic compatibility test effects. The final test shows that, with all the measures mentioned above, the conducted emission of a PCM can be reduced by 20 dB; meanwhile, the radiated emission can be reduced by 30 dB comparing to the original system.展开更多

The reason is not only because of lack of theoretical support, but more importantly, in the pursuit of indicators and design, the electromagnetic compatibility of the equipment has not been studied thoroughly, resulting in a large degree of distortion in the output waveform, resulting in a reduction in actual value. The work consists of two parts: a survey to det...This paper presents a study on the effects of radiation from electronic equipment in hospitals. This study was performed in Argentinean, Colombian and Spanish hospitals. The work consists of two parts: a survey to determine the hospital personnel’s knowledge of the problem and a technical part consisting of a measurements campaign to determine the levels of radiated electrical and magnetic fields in several hospitals due to the presence of electromagnetic interferences, such as the use of mobile phones. The study of this problem has been of special interest in countries such as the USA and Canada, and this paper attempts to convey the necessity of creating regulations that can be applied to the hospitals of the countries analyzed. More than fifty hospitals were studied in these three countries, considering the following aspects: the hospital personnel’s awareness of the problem, whether the hospitals have performed previous studies of this type, the appearance of problems in medical equipment due to this interference, the origin of the interference, and the failures that have appeared in computers due to electromagnetic interference. The results show that, most hospitals have a lack of knowledge regarding this issue and that field levels above those allowed by international regulations are present. Therefore, a regulation must be established to avoid the problem.展开更多

According to the circuit theory,...An integrated optical E-field probe with the segmented electrode using LiNbO3 Mach-Zehnder (M-Z) waveguides is proposed and an equivalent circuit of the segmented electrode is given. According to the circuit theory, the electrode structure of the probe is designed. The unpackaged size of the fabricated probe is as small as 60× 6 × 0.5 (mm). The measured results show that the half wavelength voltage is 7.7 V, the ±5 dB baseband range is 3 GHz, and the minimum detectable field is lower than 90 dB.μV/m (bandwidth 100 Hz). Recent decades have seen rapid advances in the field of electrical engineering, such that our environment has become a sea of electrical and magnetic signals, raising questions about the possible effects of low-freque...Recent decades have seen rapid advances in the field of electrical engineering, such that our environment has become a sea of electrical and magnetic signals, raising questions about the possible effects of low-frequency electromagnetic fields on the environment and which are capable of modifying and destroying our ecosystem. Particular interest was given in this article due to a massive influx of population living near high voltage lines. The analysis and simulation of the influence of low frequency electromagnetic fields on living beings in the vicinity of high voltage sources 132 kV and 220 kV in urban areas in DR Congo is the subject of our research with a view to estimating the level of exposure of humans to low frequency electromagnetic fields. To carry out our research, we used the classic method of analyzing the field produced near a high voltage line based on Maxwell’s image theory, the Maxwell-Gauss theorem and Maxwell-Ampère theorem to model and quantify low-frequency electromagnetic fields in the vicinity of high-voltage lines. The 2D FDTD numerical formulation was developed from telegraphers’ equations and allowed us to obtain models of current and voltage induced by electromagnetic fields on living beings below and near HV lines. The different simulations carried out on the proposed models illustrate the effects of the electrical and geometric parameters of the pylons on the distribution of the electromagnetic field in the vicinity of the HV lines. The results obtained were compared to the safety limits recommended by the standards.展开更多

To evaluate its electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in a static magnetic field, dynamic characteristics of a clapper relay in a uniform static magnetic field situation based on the finite element method (FEM) is studied. Influences of the magnetic field on dynamic parameters (delay time, pick-up time, end pressure, and final velocity) as well as a situation in which the relay cannot function normally are analyzed. Simulation reveals that the external magnetic field which weakens the relay’s air-gap field has a greater influence on the relay’s dynamic parameters than the one strengthening the field. The validity of the simulation is verified by measured results of coil current and armature displacement.展开更多

The comparison uses five characteristic criteria of the induced stresses, calculated with an analytic method. The process is based on a software named "SUSIE" (in French: SUSceptibilite a I'IEMN "Impulsion ElectroMagnttique d'origine Nucl6aire Haute Altitude"). Today, only conducted stresses are analyzed. Since this structure enables electromagnetic compatibility between antennas located on a plane, the behaviors of the electromagnetic field along the impedance structure are investigated. The method of moments is used to solve the integral equations and the numerical results are presented and analyzed. To reduce coupling between antennas, we need to take into account both the amplitude distribution of the field along the structure and in the openings of the antennas. This study introduces a test system for microwave-induced fracturing of hard rocks under true triaxial stress.The test system comprises a true triaxial stress loading system,an open-ended microwaveinduced fracturing s...This study introduces a test system for microwave-induced fracturing of hard rocks under true triaxial stress.The test system comprises a true triaxial stress loading system,an open-ended microwaveinduced fracturing system,a data acquisition system,an acoustic emission(AE)monitoring system,and an auxiliary specimen loading system.Microwave-induced surface and borehole fracturing tests under true triaxial stress were fulfilled for the first time,which overcomes the problem of microwave leakage in the coupling loading of true triaxial stress and microwave.By developing the dynamic monitoring system,the thermal response and fracture evolution were obtained during microwave irradiation.The monitoring system includes the infrared thermometry technique for monitoring rock surface temperature,the distributed optic fiber sensing technique for monitoring temperature in borehole in rock,the AE technique and two-dimensional digital speckle correlation technique for monitoring the evolution of thermal damage and the rock fracturing process.To validate the advantages of the test system and investigate the characteristics of microwave-induced fracturing of hard rocks,the study demonstrates the experimental methods and results for microwave-induced surface and borehole fracturing under true triaxial stress.The results show that thermal cracking presented intermittent characteristics(calm eactiveecalm)during microwave-induced surface and borehole fracturing of basalt.In addition,true triaxial stress can inhibit the development and distribution of thermal cracks during microwave-induced surface fracturing.When microwave-induced borehole fracturing occurs,it promotes the distribution of thermal cracks in rock,but inhibits the width of cracks.The results also prove the reliability of the test system.展开更多

By using the double frequency conversion technology,the dual transceiver circuit from Ku-band to L-band is realized by combining with the local oscillator and the power control circuit to complete functions such as amplification, filtering and gain. In order to achieve the performance optimization and a high level of integration of the Ku-band monolithic microwave integrated circuits(MMIC) operating chip, the 3 D vertical interconnection micro-assembly technology is used. By stacking solder balls on the printed circuit board(PCB), the technology decreases the volume of the original transceiver to a miniaturized module. The module has a good electromagnetic compatibility through special structure designs. This module has the characteristics of miniaturization, low power consumption and high density, which is suitable for popularization in practical application.展开更多

Although numerous EMC assessment models are available today, few of them can provide a tradeoff between efficienc...With the development of EMC technology, EMC assessment has become increasingly important in EMC design. Although numerous EMC assessment models are available today, few of them can provide a tradeoff between efficiency and accuracy for the specific case of military vehicular communication systems. Face to this situation, a modified four-level assessment model is proposed in the paper. First, the development of EMC assessment technology is briefly reviewed, and the theoretical mechanism of EMI environment is introduced. Then, the architecture of the proposed model is outlined, and the assessment methods are explored. To demonstrate the application of it, an example involving a communication system in a military vehicle is presented. From the physical layer to the signal layer, a hierarchical assessment on the entire system is successfully performed based on the proposed model, and we can make a qualitative EMC assessment on the EMC performance of the system. Based on a comparison with the traditional model, we conclude that the proposed model is more accurate, more efficient and less time-consuming, which is suitable for the EMC assessment on militaryvehicular communication systems. We hope that the proposed model will serve as a useful reference for system-level EMC assessments for other systems.展开更多
An active reflector is one of the three main innovations incorporated in the Five-hundredmeter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST).The deformation of such a huge spherically shaped reflector into different tran...An active reflector is one of the three main innovations incorporated in the Five-hundredmeter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST).The deformation of such a huge spherically shaped reflector into different transient parabolic shapes is achieved by using 2225 hydraulic actuators which change the position of the 2225 nodes through the connected down tied cables.For each different tracking process of the telescope,more than 1/3 of these 2225 actuators must be in operation to tune the parabolic aperture accurately and meet the surface error restriction.This means that some of these actuators are inevitably located within the main beam of the receiver,and Electromagnetic Interference(EMI)from the actuators must be mitigated to ensure the scientific output of the telescope.Based on the threshold level of interference detrimental to radio astronomy described in ITU-R Recommendation RA.769 and EMI measurements,the shielding efficiency(SE)requirement for each actuator is set to be 80 d B in the frequency range from 70 MHz to 3 GHz.Therefore,Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC)was taken into account in the actuator design by measures such as power line filters,optical fibers,shielding enclosures and other structural measures.In 2015,all the actuators had been installed at the FAST site.Till now,no apparent EMI from the actuators has been detected by the receiver,which demonstrates the effectiveness of these EMC measures.展开更多

To evaluate its electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in a static magnetic field, dynamic characteristics of a clapper relay in a uniform static magnetic field situation based on the finite element method (FEM) is studied. Influences of the magnetic field on dynamic parameters (delay time, pick-up time, end pressure, and final velocity) as well as a situation in which the relay cannot function normally are analyzed. Simulation reveals that the external magnetic field which weakens the relay’s air-gap field has a greater influence on the relay’s dynamic parameters than the one strengthening the field. The validity of the simulation is verified by measured results of coil current and armature displacement.
文摘This study deals with a new evaluation method of nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP) vulnerability on cots electronic equipments. The method consists in comparing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test severities to NEMP conducted stresses. The comparison uses five characteristic criteria of the induced stresses, calculated with an analytic method. The process is based on a software named "SUSIE" (in French: SUSceptibilite a I'IEMN "Impulsion ElectroMagnttique d'origine Nucl6aire Haute Altitude"). Today, only conducted stresses are analyzed. An evolution is planned in 2013 to determine the equivalent vulnerability of radiated stresses and to validate the software.
文摘We study the coupling problem of two waveguide antennas using the design of a two-dimensional inhomogeneous impedance structure with a fixed reflected field. Since this structure enables electromagnetic compatibility between antennas located on a plane, the behaviors of the electromagnetic field along the impedance structure are investigated. The method of moments is used to solve the integral equations and the numerical results are presented and analyzed. To reduce coupling between antennas, we need to take into account both the amplitude distribution of the field along the structure and in the openings of the antennas. In addition, while designing the structure, it is necessary to control the coefficient of decoupling.

文摘The transformer is the key circuit component of the common-mode noise current when an isolated converter is working.The highfrequency characteristics of the transformer have an important influence on the common-mode noise of the converter.Traditionally,the measurement method is used for transformer modeling,and a single lumped device is used to establish the transformer model,which cannot be predicted in the transformer design stage.Based on the transformer common-mode noise transmission mechanism,this paper derives the transformer common-mode equivalent capacitance under ideal conditions.According to the principle of experimental measurement of the network analyzer,the electromagnetic field finite element simulation software three-dimensional(3D)modeling and simulation method is used to obtain the two-port parameters of the transformer,extract the high-frequency parameters of the transformer,and establish its electromagnetic compatibility equivalent circuit model.Finally,an experimental prototype is used to verify the correctness of the model by comparing the experimental measurement results with the simulation prediction results.

文摘This study introduces a test system for microwave-induced fracturing of hard rocks under true triaxial stress.The test system comprises a true triaxial stress loading system,an open-ended microwaveinduced fracturing system,a data acquisition system,an acoustic emission(AE)monitoring system,and an auxiliary specimen loading system.Microwave-induced surface and borehole fracturing tests under true triaxial stress were fulfilled for the first time,which overcomes the problem of microwave leakage in the coupling loading of true triaxial stress and microwave.By developing the dynamic monitoring system,the thermal response and fracture evolution were obtained during microwave irradiation.The monitoring system includes the infrared thermometry technique for monitoring rock surface temperature,the distributed optic fiber sensing technique for monitoring temperature in borehole in rock,the AE technique and two-dimensional digital speckle correlation technique for monitoring the evolution of thermal damage and the rock fracturing process.To validate the advantages of the test system and investigate the characteristics of microwave-induced fracturing of hard rocks,the study demonstrates the experimental methods and results for microwave-induced surface and borehole fracturing under true triaxial stress.The results show that thermal cracking presented intermittent characteristics(calm eactiveecalm)during microwave-induced surface and borehole fracturing of basalt.In addition,true triaxial stress can inhibit the development and distribution of thermal cracks during microwave-induced surface fracturing.When microwave-induced borehole fracturing occurs,it promotes the distribution of thermal cracks in rock,but inhibits the width of cracks.The results also prove the reliability of the test system.
文摘The idea of Ku-band transceiver frequency conversion module design based on 3D micropackaging technology is proposed. By using the double frequency conversion technology,the dual transceiver circuit from Ku-band to L-band is realized by combining with the local oscillator and the power control circuit to complete functions such as amplification, filtering and gain. In order to achieve the performance optimization and a high level of integration of the Ku-band monolithic microwave integrated circuits(MMIC) operating chip, the 3 D vertical interconnection micro-assembly technology is used. By stacking solder balls on the printed circuit board(PCB), the technology decreases the volume of the original transceiver to a miniaturized module. The module has a good electromagnetic compatibility through special structure designs. This module has the characteristics of miniaturization, low power consumption and high density, which is suitable for popularization in practical application.

文摘With the development of EMC technology, EMC assessment has become increasingly important in EMC design. Although numerous EMC assessment models are available today, few of them can provide a tradeoff between efficiency and accuracy for the specific case of military vehicular communication systems. Face to this situation, a modified four-level assessment model is proposed in the paper. First, the development of EMC assessment technology is briefly reviewed, and the theoretical mechanism of EMI environment is introduced. Then, the architecture of the proposed model is outlined, and the assessment methods are explored. To demonstrate the application of it, an example involving a communication system in a military vehicle is presented. From the physical layer to the signal layer, a hierarchical assessment on the entire system is successfully performed based on the proposed model, and we can make a qualitative EMC assessment on the EMC performance of the system. Based on a comparison with the traditional model, we conclude that the proposed model is more accurate, more efficient and less time-consuming, which is suitable for the EMC assessment on militaryvehicular communication systems. We hope that the proposed model will serve as a useful reference for system-level EMC assessments for other systems.

文摘An active reflector is one of the three main innovations incorporated in the Five-hundredmeter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST).The deformation of such a huge spherically shaped reflector into different transient parabolic shapes is achieved by using 2225 hydraulic actuators which change the position of the 2225 nodes through the connected down tied cables.For each different tracking process of the telescope,more than 1/3 of these 2225 actuators must be in operation to tune the parabolic aperture accurately and meet the surface error restriction.This means that some of these actuators are inevitably located within the main beam of the receiver,and Electromagnetic Interference(EMI)from the actuators must be mitigated to ensure the scientific output of the telescope.Based on the threshold level of interference detrimental to radio astronomy described in ITU-R Recommendation RA.769 and EMI measurements,the shielding efficiency(SE)requirement for each actuator is set to be 80 d B in the frequency range from 70 MHz to 3 GHz.Therefore,Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC)was taken into account in the actuator design by measures such as power line filters,optical fibers,shielding enclosures and other structural measures.In 2015,all the actuators had been installed at the FAST site.Till now,no apparent EMI from the actuators has been detected by the receiver,which demonstrates the effectiveness of these EMC measures.
