Pulsed electromagnetic field(PEMF) reportedly promotes the proliferation and neuronal differentiation of BMSCs. Low-frequency PEMF can induce the neuronal differentiation of BMSCs in the absence of nerve growth factors. This study was designed to investigate the effects of low-frequency PEMF pretreatment on the proliferation and function of BMSCs and the effects of low-frequency PEMF pre-treated BMSCs on the regeneration of injured peripheral nerve using in vitro and in vivo experiments. In in vitro experiments, quantitative DNA analysis was performed to determine the proliferation of BMSCs, and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction was performed to detect S100(Schwann cell marker), glial fibrillary acidic protein(astrocyte marker), and brain-derived neurotrophic factor and nerve growth factor(neurotrophic factors) m RNA expression. In the in vivo experiments, rat models of crush-injured mental nerve established using clamp method were randomly injected with low-frequency PEMF pretreated BMSCs, unpretreated BMSCs or PBS at the injury site(1 × 106 cells). Di I-labeled BMSCs injected at the injury site were counted under the fluorescence microscope to determine cell survival. One or two weeks after cell injection, functional recovery of the injured nerve was assessed using the sensory test with von Frey filaments. Two weeks after cell injection, axonal regeneration was evaluated using histomorphometric analysis and retrograde labeling of trigeminal ganglion neurons. In vitro experiment results revealed that low-frequency PEMF pretreated BMSCs proliferated faster and had greater m RNA expression of growth factors than unpretreated BMSCs. In vivo experiment results revealed that compared with injection of unpretreated BMSCs, injection of low-frequency PEMF pretreated BMSCs led to higher myelinated axon count and axon density and more Di I-labeled neurons in the trigeminal ganglia, contributing to rapider functional recovery of injured mental nerve. These findings suggest that low-frequency PEMF pretreatment is a promising approach to enhance the efficacy of cell therapy for peripheral nerve injury repair.展开更多

At the temperature of the order of 10 -5 K, the energy density of its state corresponds to the dark energy density in absolute magnitude. In this paper, a possible explanation of this phenomenon is suggested. It is shown that the function satisfies Maxwell equations and can be considered as a function which determines the electro-magnetic properties of rotating heavy bodies. The Riklm is the Riemann tensor, which determines the gravitational field of the body, rg is the gravitational radius of the body, and η is the constant which has to be determined by observations. The field Φlm describes the observed correlation. It explains the stability of magnetic field of white dwarfs and neutron stars despite the ohmic dissipation. The function Φl0 describes the electric field created by rotating heavy bodies. The presented theory does not contradict any existed experiments and observations.展开更多

Moreover, chronic or subacute inflammation is reported in some cases even a long time after surgery. Another open and debated issue in prosthetic surgery is implant survivorship, especially when related to good prosthesis bone ingrowth. Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields(PEMFs) treatment, although initially recommended after total joint replacement to promote bone ingrowth and to reduce inflammation and pain, is not currently part of usual clinical practice. The purpose of this review was to analyze existing literature on PEMFs effects in joint replacement surgery and to report results of clinical studies and current indications. We selected all currently available prospective studies or RCT on the use of PEMFs in total joint replacement with the purpose of investigating effects of PEMFs on recovery, pain relief and patients’ satisfaction following hip, knee or shoulder arthroplasty. All the studies analyzed reported no adverse effects, and good patient compliance to the treatment. The available literature shows that early control of joint inflammation process in the first days after surgery through the use of PEMFs should be considered an effective completion of the surgical procedure to improve the patient’s functional recovery.展开更多

The main ...A new method for the unification of gravitational and electromagnetic forces is proposed. Previously, Kaluza-Klein theory dealt with the unification, but it has not yet been established as a complete theory. The main reason for this is that Kaluza-Klein theory has various contradictions due to the use of a 5-dimensional metric tensor. In this paper, unlike the conventional method, various equations related to gravitational and electromagnetic force are derived without any contradiction by processing equations having gauge symmetry within a 4-dimensional range. In this process, we propose that Maxwell’s equations for the electromagnetic force are expressed more simply and implicitly than the existing tensor form. Using the gauge symmetry, it shows that electromagnetic force can exist in single metric tensor along with gravity. In addition, since geodesic equations can be derived in the form of coordinate transformation, it has been shown that they are consistent with the existing equations. As a result, it has shown that they are consistent with the existing physical equations without contradiction.展开更多

文摘In order to resolve direction finding problems in the impulse noise,a direction of arrival(DOA)estimation method is proposed. The proposed DOA estimation method can restrain the impulse noise by using infinite norm exponential kernel covariance matrix and obtain excellent performance via the maximumlikelihood(ML)algorithm. In order to obtain the global optimal solutions of this method,a quantum electromagnetic field optimization(QEFO)algorithm is designed. In view of the QEFO algorithm, the proposed method can resolve the difficulties of DOA estimation in the impulse noise.Comparing with some traditional DOA estimation methods, the proposed DOA estimation method shows high superiority and robustness for determining the DOA of independent and coherent sources, which has been verified via the Monte-Carlo experiments of different schemes, especially in the case of snapshot deficiency, low generalized signal to noise ratio(GSNR)and strong impulse noise.Beyond that, the Cramer-Rao bound(CRB)of angle estimation in the impulse noise and the proof of the convergence of the QEFO algorithm are provided in this paper.
文摘It is shown that the non-equilibrium electrically neutral and relativistically invariant vacuum-like state with the negative energy density and positive pressure may exist at the non-zero temperature in the system of spinor particles, antiparticles, and random electromagnetic field generated by particle-particle, particle-antiparticle, and antiparticle-antiparticle transitions. At the temperature of the order of 10 -5 K, the energy density of its state corresponds to the dark energy density in absolute magnitude. The cosmological constant for such material medium turns out to be negative.
文摘Objective This study aimed to investigate the effect of exposure to a 900 MHz electromagnetic field(EMF)on the cervical spinal cord(CSC)of rats and the possible protective effect of luteolin(LUT)against CSC tissue damage. Methods Quantitative data were obtained via stereological, biochemical, immunohistochemical, and histopathological techniques. We investigated morphometric value, superoxide dismutase(SOD)level, and the expression of high-mobility group box 1 protein molecules,as well as histological changes. Results The total number of motor neurons in the EMF group significantly decreased in comparison with that in the control group(P<0.05).In the EMF+LUT group,we found a significant increase in the total number of motor neurons compared with that in the EMF group(P<0.05).SOD enzyme activity in the EMF group significantly increased in comparison with that in the control group(P<0.05).By contrast, the EMF+LUT group exhibited a decrease in SOD level compared with the EMF group(P<0.05).Conclusion Our results suggested that exposure to EMF could be deleterious to CSC tissues.Furthermore, the protective efficacy of LUT against SC damage might have resulted from the alleviation of oxidative stress caused by EMF.
文摘The observed correlation of the angular momenta Lik and magnetic moments μlm of celestial bodies (the Sun, planets and stars) was discussed by many authors but without any explanation. The presented theory does not contradict any existed experiments and observations.

文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the biological effects of occupational extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field(ELF-EMF)exposure on the thyroid gland. Methods:We conducted a prospective analysis of 85 workers(exposure group)exposed to an ELF-EMF(100μT,10-100 Hz)produced by the electromagnetic aircraft launch system and followed up on thyroid function indices, immunological indices, and color Doppler images for 3 years.Additionally,116 healthy volunteers were randomly selected as controls(control group),the thyroid function of whom was compared to the exposure group. Results:No significant difference was observed in thyroid function between the exposure and control groups.During the follow-up of the exposure group, the serum free triiodothyronine(FT3)level was found to slowly decrease and free thyroxine(FT4)level slowly increase with increasing exposure time. However,no significant difference was found in thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)over the three years, and no significant difference was observed in the FT3,FT4 and TSH levels between different exposure subgroups.Furthermore,no significant changes were observed in thyroid autoantibody levels and ultrasound images between subgroups or over time.Conclusion:Long-term exposure to ELF-EMF may promote thyroid secretion of T4 and inhibit deiodination of T4 to T3.ELF-EMF has no significant effect on thyroid immune function and morphology.

文摘The invariance of several new component electromagnetic-field vectors with respect to the Lorentz transformation has been demonstrated in the paper. The formalism of the classical relativistic mechanics has been applied in examining both the time-square variable of the field, as well as the square-values of the position coordinates of a moving particle.
文摘Although the rate of patients reporting satisfaction is generally high after joint replacement surgery, up to 23% after total hip replacement and 34% after total knee arthroplasty of treated subjects report discomfort or pain 1 year after surgery. The available literature shows that early control of joint inflammation process in the first days after surgery through the use of PEMFs should be considered an effective completion of the surgical procedure to improve the patient’s functional recovery.

文摘BACKGROUND Pulsed electromagnetic field(PEMF)therapy is widely used to treat myofascial pain syndrome(MPS).Damp-clearing and pain-reducing paste(DPP)comprises medical herbs and has been a traditional method of reducing myofascial pain in China for a long time, and it is usually administered with heating. However, the synergistic effect of PEMF therapy on heating-DPP in patients with MPS is unclear.AIM To investigate the synergistic effect of PEMF therapy plus heating-DPP in lumbar MPS.METHODS This double-blind,randomized,placebo-controlled trial was conducted on 120 patients with lumbar MPS who were randomly divided into an experimental group(EG,n=60)and a control group(CG,n=60).Patients in both groups were treated with heating-DPP combined with PEMF therapy;however, the electromagnetic function of the therapeutic apparatus used in the CG was disabled. Each treatment lasted for 20 min and was applied five times a week for two weeks. The short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire was applied at five time points:pretest, end of the first and second weeks of treatment, and end of the first and fourth week after completing treatment.Visual analog scale(VAS),present pain intensity index(PPI),and pain rating index(PRI;total, affective pain, and sensory pain scores)scores were then analyzed.RESULTS Compared with the CG,the VAS,PPI and PRI scores(total, affective pain and sensory pain scores)in the EG were significantly lower after treatment and during follow-up.CONCLUSION PEMF therapy combined with heating-DPP showed better efficacy than heating-DPP alone in reducing the overall intensity of pain and sensory and affective pain.

文摘As the essential material for high temperature industrial production and technological development such as metallurgy, refractory has an important influence on the safety and efficiency of production for high-quality steels.Slag corrosion is one of the main reasons causing the wear of refractories. The slag resistance of refractories can be enhanced by regulation and control of the composition and structure, while applying the external electromagnetic field can achieve the good performance.Electromagnetic field can not only change the thermo physical properties of slags, but also have a significant effect on the slag resistance of refractories.Suitable electric field can slow down the slag corrosion while the influence of conductivity of refractories is obvious; The magnetic field with millitesla level have a significant impact on the high temperature properties of the slags, and the alternating magnetic field can accelerate the slag corrosion of the refractories, while the static magnetic field has a promising potential to improve the slag resistance of the refractories.Furthermore, the interaction mechanism between refractories and slags under magnetic field needs to be clarified in order to develop the magnetic resistance against slag corrosion of refractories.

文摘The propagation of the lightning-radiated electromagnetic field along the real irregular terrain around Yangzhou Direction Finder(DF)site(119°42′E,32°39′N)and Nanjing DF site(118°46′E,32°03′N)of Jiangsu Province in China is estimated. The results show that the rough irregular terrain results in the rapid magnitude attenuation and the increase of the rise-time of the field waveform. For example, for the Yangzhou DF site as the circumference of a radius of 45 km,the root-mean-squared height(RMSH)of the real irregular terrain varies from 7 to 33 m;the extra field attenuation relative to the ideal ground surface ranges from 1%to 11%,and the extra rise-time increment varies from 0.1 to 0.6μs.Therefore,the extracted current peak of lightning return stroke may be underestimated from the remotely measured electromagnetic field, and the error varies along with different azimuths.
文摘A new method for the unification of gravitational and electromagnetic forces is proposed. As a result, it has shown that they are consistent with the existing physical equations without contradiction.

文摘Electron vortex beams(EVBs)have potential applications in nanoscale magnetic probes of condensed matter and nanoparticle manipulation as well as radiation physics.Recently,a relativistic electron vortex beam(REVB)has been proposed[Phys.Rev.Lett.107174802(2011)].Compared with EVBs,except for orbital angular momentum,an REVB has intrinsic relativistic effect,i.e.,spin angular momentum and spin-orbit coupling. We study the electromagnetic field of an REVB analytically. We show that the electromagnetic field can be separated into two parts, one is only related to orbital quantum number, and the other is related to spin-orbit coupling effect.Exploiting this separation property, the difference between the electromagnetic fields of the REVB in spin-up and spin-down states can be used as a demonstration of the relativistic quantum effect. The linear momentum and angular momentum of the generated electromagnetic field have been further studied and it is shown that the linear momentum is weakly dependent on the spin state;while the angular momentum is evidently dependent on the spin state and linearly increases with the topological charge of electron vortex beam. The electromagnetic and mechanical properties of the REVB could be useful for studying the interaction between REVBs and materials.
