Emergency Treatment and Nursing Care of a Patient with Multiple Injuries and Right Main Bronchus Rupture

Objective: To investigate the rescue and nursing process of a trauma patient with multiple injuries and rupture of the right main bronchus. Methods: A patient with multiple injuries and rupture of the right main bronchus admitted to the emergency department of the Shenzhen Hospital of the University of Hong Kong was selected as the research object on December 11, 2019. Results: In this case, the medical team treated the patient under the guidance of ATLS (Advanced Traumatic Life Support), and for the first time in our department, we used bronchoscopy to replace the double-lumen endotracheal tube for left lung single-lung ventilation, finally the patient was successfully treated. Conclusion: Through a literature search, it is found that the main bronchus rupture is less common in clinical practice. In the trauma group, the use of fiberoptic bronchoscopy and the replacement of a double-lumen tracheal tube for left lung single-lung ventilation can improve the treatment rate of such patients and is worthy of clinical application.

Impact of Optimizing Emergency Nursing Processes on Resuscitation Success in Patients with Acute Chest Pain

Objective:To analyze the effect of optimizing the emergency nursing process in the resuscitation of patients with acute chest pain and the impact on the resuscitation success rate.Methods:66 patients with acute chest pain received by the emergency department of our hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects and divided into two groups according to the differences in the emergency nursing process,i.e.,33 patients receiving routine emergency care were included in the control group,and 33 patients receiving the optimization of emergency nursing process intervention were included in the observation group.Patients’resuscitation effect and satisfaction with nursing care in the two groups were compared.Results:The observation group’s consultation assessment time,reception time,admission to the start of resuscitation time,and resuscitation time were shorter than that of the control group,the resuscitation success rate was higher than that of the control group,and the incidence of adverse events was lower than that of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);and the observation group’s satisfaction with nursing care was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Optimization of emergency nursing process intervention in the resuscitation of acute chest pain patients can greatly shorten the rescue time and improve the success rate of resuscitation,with higher patient satisfaction.

Preparedness training programs improved the emergency response and crucial outcomes among nursing students:a scoping review

Objective:The study aims to review and discuss the outcomes of emergency preparedness training programs among nursing students.Methods:A scoping review was conducted based on the guidelines of Arskey and O’Malley.Databases through PubMed,Science Direct,and Google Scholar were used to obtain the relevant articles within the scoping review.Results:The researchers found 1175 articles.After manual review,28 articles were identified and assessed.The review reported that the emergency preparedness training program significantly affects preparedness,knowledge,performance,self-efficacy,learning motivation,self-confidence,satisfaction,critical decision-making,and problem-solving.Conclusions:Emergency training effectively increases knowledge,skills,confidence,satisfaction,and team performance.

Impact of extended nursing model after multi-disciplinary treatment on young patient with post-stroke

BACKGROUND Stroke has become one of the most serious life-threatening diseases due to its high morbidity,disability,recurrence and mortality rates.AIM To explore the intervention effect of multi-disciplinary treatment(MDT)extended nursing model on negative emotions and quality of life of young patients with post-stroke.METHODS A total of 60 young stroke patients who were hospitalized in the neurology department of our hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group,with 30 patients in each group.The control group used the conventional care model and the experimental group used the MDT extended nursing model.After the inhospital and 3-mo post-discharge interventions,the differences in negative emotions and quality of life scores between the two groups were evaluated and analyzed at the time of admission,at the time of discharge and after discharge,respectively.RESULTS There are no statistically significant differences in the negative emotions scores between the two groups at admission,while there are statistically significant differences in the negative emotions scores within each group at admission and discharge,at discharge and post-discharge,and at discharge and post-discharge.In addition,the negative emotions scores were all statistically significant at discharge and after discharge when compared between the two groups.There was no statistically significant difference in quality of life scores at the time of admission between the two groups,and the difference between quality of life scores at the time of admission and discharge,at the time of discharge and post-discharge,and at the time of admission and post-discharge for each group of patients was statistically significant.CONCLUSION The MDT extended nursing mode can improve the negative emotion of patients and improve their quality of life.Therefore,it can be applied in future clinical practice and is worthy of promotion.

Impact of specialized nursing outpatient case management on postcoronary artery bypass grafting patients

BACKGROUND Some patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease experience major adverse cardiac events(MACE)and require readmission after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting(CABG)surgery.This is often attributed to patients'unhealthy lifestyles and dietary habits,inadequate understanding of the disease,and poor disease management compliance.Thus,searching for more targeted nursing intervention models that can enhance patients'self-management abilities and reduce the risk of readmission after CABG surgery is significant.AIM To observe the impact of specialized nursing outpatient case management on patients after CABG surgery.METHODS A total of 103 patients who underwent CABG surgery in our hospital between April 2021 and April 2022 comprised the study sample.The patients were divided into two groups using an odd-even number grouping method.The control group received routine nursing care,while the case management group received specialized nursing outpatient case management.The differences in psychological status,adherence to medical treatment,self-care ability,knowledge mastery,quality of life scores,and the occurrence rate of MACE were compared between the two groups.RESULTS After the intervention,the case management group had lower scores on the selfrating depression scale and self-rating anxiety scale and lower MACE rate,as well as higher scores for adherence to a healthy diet,medication adherence,good lifestyle habits,regular exercise,and timely follow-up,higher scores on the Coronary Heart Disease Self-Management Scale,higher scores for managing adverse habits,symptoms,emotional cognition,emergency response,disease knowledge,general lifestyle,and treatment adherence,higher scores for understanding coronary heart disease,recognizing the importance of medication adherence,understanding selfcare points after CABG surgery,and being aware of post-CABG precautions,higher scores for physical well-being,disease condition,general health,social-psychological well-being,and work-related aspects(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Specialized nursing outpatient case management can enhance patient adherence to medical treatment,knowledge mastery,psychological well-being,and overall quality of life in patients after CABG surgery.

Analysis of The Impact of Interventional Nursing on The Therapeutic Effect, Negative Emotions, and Quality of Life of Patients Undergoing Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Interventional Therapy

Objective: To explore the impact of interventional nursing on the therapeutic effect, negative emotions, and quality of life of patients undergoing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional therapy. Methods: A total of 106 patients who underwent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional treatment were collected and randomly divided into Group A (control) and Group B (observation), with 53 cases each. Group A received the routine nursing intervention and Group B received the interventional nursing intervention. The clinical efficacy, complications, negative emotions, quality of life, and nursing satisfaction of the two groups of patients were evaluated. Results: The total clinical effective rate of Group B (52/98.12%) was higher than that of Group A (45/84.91%) (χ^(2)= 4.371, P < 0.05). The total incidence of complications in Group B (2/3.78%) was lower than that of Group A (9/16.98%) (χ^(2)= 4.970, P < 0.05). The self-rating anxiety (SAS) score and self-rating depression (SDS) of Group B were lower than those of Group A (P < 0.001). The quality of life of Group B was significantly higher than that of Group A (P < 0.001). The nursing satisfaction of group B (51/96.22%) was higher than that of group A (43/81.13%) (χ^(2)= 6.014, P < 0.05). Conclusion: In the care of patients undergoing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional therapy, interventional nursing intervention effectively improved the patient’s clinical efficacy, reduced the incidence of complications, reduced negative emotions, improved the quality of life, and increased nursing satisfaction.

The Application Effect of Predictive Nursing on Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation of Patients Undergoing Heart Valve Surgery with Extracorporeal Circulation

Objective:To evaluate the application effect of predictive nursing on patients undergoing heart valve surgery with extracorporeal circulation(ECC).Methods:92 ECC patients admitted to the hospital between July 2021 and July 2023 were selected and grouped by random number table method;the observation group practiced predictive nursing,while the reference group practiced conventional nursing.The cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and other indexes were compared between the groups.Results:The postoperative rehabilitation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the reference group,the treatment compliance was higher than that of the reference group,the cardiopulmonary function indexes were all better than that of the reference group,and the complication rate was lower than that of the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of predictive nursing for ECC patients can promote postoperative rehabilitation,improve patients’treatment compliance,and enhance the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation effect,and nursing safety is high.

Application of Clinical Nursing Pathway in the Peri-Treatment Period of Immunoadsorption Therapy for Rheumatic Immune Diseases

Objective: The paper aims to investigate the clinical nursing pathway (CNP) in the application of immunosorption therapy in patients with rheumatic immune disease. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used to select inpatients who received immunoadsorption therapy from January 2020 to December 2022 in the rheumatology and Immunology department of a 3A hospital in Jingzhou City. 30 patients from January 2020 to June 2021 were selected as control group, and 30 patients from July 2021 to December 2022 were selected as observation group. The control group was given routine nursing. On the basis of the control group, the observation group used a clinical nursing pathway for intervention during the perioperative period of immunosorbent therapy. The incidence of adverse reactions, patient satisfaction, and nurse satisfaction during immunosorbent therapy between the control group and the observation group were compared. Results: After intervention, the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, while patient satisfaction and nurse satisfaction in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group. The results are all statistically significant (P Conclusion: Clinical nursing pathway is beneficial to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in patients with immunoadsorption during peri-treatment and improve the satisfaction of patients and nurses.

Impact of an emergency department nursing intervention on continuity of care, self-care, and psychological symptoms

BACKGROUND The emergency department plays a crucial role in providing acute care to patients.Nursing interventions in this setting are essential for improving the continuity of care,enhancing patients’self-care abilities,and reducing psychological symp-toms.AIM To evaluate the effect of nursing interventions in the emergency department on these indicators in an emergency department.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on 120 patients admitted to the emergency department between January 2022 and May 2023.The patients were divided into two groups:The control group(conventional nursing intervention)and the observation group(conventional nursing intervention+emergency department nursing intervention).The two groups were compared regarding continuity of care,self-care ability,psychological symptoms,and satisfaction with care.RESULTS The emergency department nursing interventions significantly improved the continuity of care,enhanced patients’self-care abilities,and reduced psycho-logical symptoms such as anxiety and depression.CONCLUSION Nursing interventions in the emergency department positively impact continuity of care,self-care,and psychological symptoms.However,it is important to acknowledge the limitations of this study,including the small number of studies,variable methodological quality,and the heterogeneity of the study population.Future research should address these limitations and further explore the effects of different types of nursing interventions in the emergency department.Additionally,efforts should be made to enhance the application and evaluation of these interventions in clinical practice.

Comparison of the treatment duration and nursing requirements of the EarWell infant ear correction system for different types of auricle deformities

Objective:To observe whether the Ear Well infant ear correction system makes any difference in terms of the treatment effect,duration,complication rate,and nursing care requirements in different types of infant auricle deformities.Methods:A total of 93 infant patients with auricular deformity(age:<3 months of age)who were diagnosed and treated in Guangzhou Children and Women’s Medical Center from April 2018 to September 2020 were selected and treated with the Ear Well infant ear correction system.We observed and recorded the effects of the Ear Well infant ear correction system,the treatment duration,the number of rebound cases,and complications that are likely to occur during treatment,and noted the related factors causing complications and the relative requirements for nursing care.Results:The Earwell infant ear correction system could effectively correct infant auricle deformities.Among the 93 cases,90 cases had positive therapeutical outcome and the effective rate was 96.77%.The treatment duration for lop ear and protruding ear was longer than for other auricle deformities;the deformity recoil and the treatment compilation rates were much higher for these 2 deformity types,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The treatment suggestion for the wearing duration of the Ear Well infant ear correction system for lop ear and protruding ear is a prolonged duration compared with that for other infant auricle deformities.Fur ther,the requirements for nursing care intensity and infant patient’s guardian’s nursing knowledge and skill are obviously increased for these 2 types of auricle deformities.

Application of Clinical Nursing Pathway Combined with Cluster Nursing Mode in Biologic Treatment of Rheumatoid Immune Disease Patients

Objective: To investigate the effect of clinical nursing pathway (CNP) combined with cluster nursing mode in intravenous biologic treatment of rheumatoid immune disease patients. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used to select inpatients receiving biologics treatment in Rheumatology and Immunology Department of a grade A hospital in Jingzhou city from May 2020 to April 2022. 75 patients from May 2020 to April 2021 were selected as the control group, and 75 patients from May 2021 to April 2022 were selected as the observation group. The control group was given routine care. The observation group was treated with CNP combined with cluster nursing mode on the basis of the control group, and the incidences of adverse infusion reactions, total treatment time, patient satisfaction and nurse satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Necessity for disaster-related nursing competency training of emergency nurses in China

Purpose::Discuss on the disaster-related nursing competency training of Chinese emergency nurses.Methods::By retrieving concerned literatures,summarize the current situation of disaster responses of Chinese emergency nurses and the impact factors of disaster-related nursing competencies.Results::The disaster preparedness of emergency nurses in China is at a medium level and must be improved.The impact factors include the educational degree,gender,disaster relief experience,training,and mechanisms for domestic disaster relief.Conclusion::As a direct response to disaster,emergency nurses should improve the comprehensive ability of disaster nursing by systematic disaster nursing education and professional training.

Current status of emergency treatment of chemical eye burns in workplaces

Chemical eye burns present an avoidable,but frequent,occupational injury with potentially detrimental consequences for the quality of life and occupational rehabilitation of the injured.A periodical review of guidelines is required to assure the optimal emergency management.We reviewed the literature with emphasis on current German guidelines,primarily MEDLINE.If the crucial first-line measure,the injury prevention has failed and an eye burn has been sustained,the immediate and copious rinsing of the eye is the pivotal emergency treatment modality.Whereas the immediacy and sufficiency of the emergency rinsing are largely unanimous,there is an ongoing debate about the benefits and risks of specific rinsing solutions,and regular updates on guidelines and recommendations for the emergency treatment are warranted.The easiest and readily available rinsing solution is tap water,which fulfils the crucial criteria conveniently in most industrialized countries:purity,sterility,and neutral p H.Other rinsing solutions are proposing higher osmolality to stabilize the physiological p H,because of their superior buffering capacity.However,there is no compelling evidence for a substantial benefit,and some reports suggest that there could be unwanted side effects.In combination with the substantially increased expenditure and a more complex handling procedure,currently a general recommendation of any other solution than tap water is not warranted.

Progress in Traditional Chinese and Weste rn Medicine Treatments and Nursing Care of Knee Osteoarthritis

This paper reviews the causes of knee osteoarthritis, traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapies and nursing research progress and indicates that traditional Chinese and Western medicine have gradually recognized the cause of knee osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis has been treated with various treatments and nursing care planning, and the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has constantly been improved. Nurses should instruct the discharged patient to correctly treat their disease, adopt the health education, and, via the establishment of a healthy lifestyle, insist on a functional exercise to relieve the pain, delay disease progression, and improve quality of life.

Emergency Treatment of Testicular Torsion and Postoperative Follow-up: A 71 Case Report

This study presented our experience in the treatment of testicular torsion,which may help achieve early diagnosis and improve therapeutic effects.A retrospective analysis was conducted in 71 patients with testicular torsion who were treated in our hospital from October 2007 to April 2011.The age of the patients ranged from 16 days to 34 years.All the patients had unilateral testicular torsion,which took place on the left side in 43 cases and on the right side in 28 cases.The course of the disease varied between three hours to 30 days.Post-operative follow-up was conducted until October 2011.Items examined included signs and symptoms at their first clinical visit,ultrasound findings,treatment in emergency surgery,and post-operative follow-up.In this study,the 71 patients were diagnosed with testicular torsion by color Doppler sonography,7 had testicular fixation,63 patients received orchiectomy,while 1 patient did not undergo surgery due to pressure from family members.Post-operative follow-up showed that the one patient’s testicle,which had been reserved,atrophied,while all the other survived.No recurrence was found during the follow-up visits.It is concluded that an early diagnosis and surgery is important in improving the survival rate of testicular torsion,and the diagnosis and treatment by the first attending clinician is of critical importance.

Clinical Effect of Intelligent Emergency Nursing Mode in Patients with Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

Objective: Severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) is one of the common acute and critical diseases in neurosurgery. So we aim to explore the clinical effectiveness of an intelligent emergency care model in patients with severe traumatic brain injury. Methods: Eighty patients with severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) who were treated in Zhuji People’s Hospital of Zhejiang Province from January 2019 to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were divided into an observation group and a control group with 40 patients in each group according to the random number table method. Patients in the control group received conventional first-aid nursing mode intervention, and the intelligent emergency nursing mode was used for the observation group based on the control group. Comparisons were conducted between the two groups on the time of arrival to the emergency room, the time from the emergency room to the operating room, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score before surgery, GCS score when leaving the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the average length of ICU stay, the average length of hospital stay, the total hospital costs. Results: The time of arrival to the emergency room, the time from the emergency room to the operating room, the average length of ICU stay, the average length of hospital stay, and the total hospital costs in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (All P Conclusion: Intelligent emergency nursing mode can shorten the time of sTBI rescue, the length of ICU stay, and the average length of hospital stay, reduce the total hospitalization cost, improve the prognosis, with good efficacy, reduce the total cost of hospitalization, and improve the prognosis with better efficacy.

Value of Emergency Nursing Procedures in Improving the First Aid Efficiency and Outcomes of Comatose Patients with Cerebral Hemorrhage

Objective:To determine the application value of emergency nursing in improving the efficiency and outcomes of first aid for comatose patients with cerebral hemorrhage.Methods:Forty comatose patients with cerebral hemorrhage treated in Suzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2018 to June 2019 were selected as the research subjects in this study;the patients were divided into two groups,a control group and a study group,by lot;the patients in the control group received nursing by conventional means,while emergency nursing procedures were provided to the patients in the study group;the efficiency of first aid and the outcomes of the two groups were compared;the application value of emergency nursing procedures was analyzed.Results:The first aid efficiency of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group;the condition evaluation,reception time,triage time,and rescue time of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group;the treatment outcomes of the study group were significantly better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on the results,compared with conventional nursing methods,the implementation of emergency nursing procedures for comatose patients with cerebral hemorrhage helps to improve the efficiency of first aid and the outcomes of the treatment;it has high clinical application value and is worthy of popularization as well as application in clinical practice.

Difficulties Experienced in Trauma Nursing Practice by Expert Emergency Nurses in Japan

The objective of this study was to determine the difficulties experienced in trauma nursing practice by expert emergency nurses in Japan. Ten nurses who worked at emergency and critical care centers in Japan were directly involved in nursing patients were selected by purposive sampling and underwent semi-structured interviews regarding the difficulties they experienced in trauma nursing. The nurses were specialists in critical care nursing or were certified emergency nurses. The interview responses were analyzed by the qualitative descriptive method. The following six categories of difficulties associated with the direct care of trauma patients and their family members encountered in trauma nursing practice were identified: [Initial handling of highly urgent trauma patients], [Understanding and observing the condition of patients who are in the treatment stage], [Judging when to transition to end-stage care for patients difficult to save], [Mitigating suffering and expanding safe activities of daily living for trauma patients], [Transitional care with a long-term perspective for trauma patients], and [Relationships with the family members of patients who died]. Three categories of difficulties related to the role of the expert nurse in trauma nursing practice were identified: [Person-to-person coordination and cooperation for a trauma patient], [Playing an educational role for the nursing staff], and [Pursuing expertise in trauma nursing and gaining empirical knowledge]. The findings suggested a need to establish systems for training and consultative support and opportunities to create meaning by reflecting on fulfillment and nursing practice.

The application of feedforward control in the nursing emergency management of COVID-19

Objective:To explore the application of feedforward control in the nursing emergency management of COVID-19.Methods:The feedforward control theory was applied to the emergency management of COVID-19 nursing,including grasping the latest epidemic information,preparing for the early stage,formulating nursing workflow,implementing flexible management,standardizing isolation and protection measures,unifying nursing document record format,and implementing humanistic care.Results:During the period of support to Wuhan,the nursing work in the isolated area was orderly,the nursing staff's job satisfaction was high,no nursing errors and hospital infections occurred.Conclusion:Efficient feedforward control in the nursing emergency management that could avoid work blindness to a certain extent and play a guiding role in maintaining the normal operation of treatment and nursing work and protecting the safety of patients and medical staff in the ward during the epidemic period of COVID-19.
