Evaluation and Empirical Research on Teachers’ Information Literacy in the Context of Smart Education

The development of smart education has led to the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence with education.It is a prerequisite for teachers to have high information literacy for conducting education and teaching work.This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 412 teachers in a certain area.The results showed that teachers’information literacy is above the middle level,and there are significant differences in information literacy between teaching experience and educational background.The evaluation showed that information ethics,information awareness,and information application have a significant positive impact on professional development,and information knowledge and information awareness have a positive predictive effect on information ethics.

The Empirical Research of Native Thinking in the Process of English Composition

The method of questionnaire is employed to investigate the impact of Chinese thinking in the writing processes of 80 college English majors.It reveals that the English writing process is a bilingual event(namely,English writers have both Chinese and English at their disposal when they are composing in English).And no matter whether the English proficiency of the learners is high or low,the learners have a great dependence on Chinese thinking in the process of English writing.In the categories of task reacting and content organizing,there is no great difference between the high and low English proficiency students.But in the category of linguistic form,the influence of Chinese thinking on the low level students is far greater than the high level students.

An Empirical Research on Integrating Chinese Traditional Culture into College English Teaching

198 non-English freshmen students from Shandong Yingcai College were selected as research subjects.The subjects were divided into the experimental group(EG) and the control group(CG).The students in EG were taught English integrated Chinese traditional culture for three semesters,while the ones in CG were taught as usual.The results indicate that the integration of Chinese culture broadens the students' horizons and improves the students' ability to express Chinese culture in English and intercultural communicative competence.

An empirical research on the determinants of Chinese college students' carbon label cognition and interpersonal communication willingness

Carbon labels are innovative medium and tools for climate change communication and lowcarbon marketing.This study aims at examining how college students are aware of low-carbon and carbon labels,whether they are more willing to communicate low-carbon ideas,and also the determinants affecting their interpersonal communication of carbon labels.The multiple regression analysis shows that Chinese college students' willingness of interpersonal communication of carbon labels are significantly influenced by their awareness of climate change crisis,the perceived value of carbon labels,the consideration of product environmental attributes,the preferences of carbon labels,the household background,and their educational background.In response to these factors,this paper proposes,in a public perspective,the strategies to enhance the dissemination of carbon labels.

An empirical research on strategic planning in public libraries of China's Mainland

Purpose: As an important issue, strategic planning in public libraries has been paid more attention in China recent years. However, a comprehensive and systematic research, especially strategic models based on empirical studies, is required in the public library strategic planning. The purpose of this research is to investigate the current practices and propose an appropriate reference and guidance of strategic planning in public libraries in China’s mainland.Design/methodology/approach: A questionnaire-based survey method is carried out to collect the views of public libraries staff at different levels in China’s mainland. The questionnaire is designed on the following four aspects toward strategic planning in public libraries: The attitude, the status quo, basic issues and the guides. The 882 valid questionnaires are processed by a statistic analysis to reflect the current practices of strategic planning in public libraries in China’s mainland.Findings: Our research results reveal that the unclear and confused understanding of the strategic planning still exist among the public libraries staff in China’s mainland. However, the majority of respondents still believe that the strategic planning in public libraries is significant and the library developments will be affected for lacking strategic planning. Moreover, it is considerable that the strategic plans are jointly made by independent agencies and public libraries, or by the public library itself. Also, guidelines and a set of softwares in strategic planning are needed.Research limitations/implications: The study was restricted to six main areas in China. A wider geographic sampling can preferable show the basic status of strategic planning in public libraries.The procedures of data collection would be another limitation. Nevertheless, case studies should be used in the further research.Originality: The importance of this research originates from a large number of first-hand data about strategic planning in public libraries in China’s mainland. The results provide extra perception into the future development of Chinese public libraries. The understanding obtained from this study will play a part in forthcoming evolution of this area of research.

Sustainable Development of Export: Theoretical Meaning, Evaluation Model, and Empirical Research

With the effect of the human trade doctrine in the international trade field, almost all the countries have paid more attention to the sustainable development of international trade. This article chose the export sustainable development as the research object. On the basis of the analysis of the theoretical connotation of the export sustainable development, this article tried to establish an evaluation indices system and set up an evaluation model of the export sustainable development level, and finally made some empirical research on China. The result indicates that the comprehensive level of the export sustainable development in China showed a tendency to rise from 1985 to 2003 and the export sustainable development level of China in these years can be divided into four grades: excellent, good, moderate and poor. In most years, the social economic benefits of export was obtained at the cost of the deterioration of environment and the depletion of resources, and the economic profit of export did not increase with the enlargement of the export scale because of the deterioration of the terms of trade. Therefore, China should be careful about the problem of poverty accompanied by the increase of export.

Empirical Research on Sticky Cost in Strategic Emerging Industries

Cost Stickiness theory believe that costs do not linearly change with the volume ofbusiness, when business increased it increases more cost than when business volume decreased by the same amount it reduces. Use sticky cost theory to the process of cost management can improve the efficiency of enterprises＇ cost plan and cost control. The national twelith five year plan proposed to vigorously develop strategic emerging industries, if the strategic emerging industry also has the cost stickiness, we can apply sticky cost theory to the process its cost management. The author selected 120 listing corporations＇ financial data in China during 2007-2012 belongs to the emerging industries. Through empirical study, we found that the strategic emerging industry does not exist sticky cost beheavior. This may because China＇s strategic emerging industrie is still in the initial reason.

Cost Climate Survey Scale in Construction:Development and Empirical Research

To develop the cost climate survey scale( CCSS) used in construction enterprises,the design concepts,principles and the process diagrams of CCSS are proposed.Through questionnaire investigation and expert interviews,314 projects are established and the CCSS that is made up of 7 dimensions framework and 30 levels is preliminarily determined.After categorized merger,pre-test analysis and multiple items refining,16 projects of CCSS are eventually compiled.In order to verify the credibility and validity of the CCSS,200 employees in Qinhuangdao construction company as the samples are tested.SPSS 21.0 is used to analyze the reliability,validity and rationality of level divisions,and Amos 22.0 is for analyzing the degree of model adaptation in this survey.Finally,the current cost climate situation of the construction site in the company is evaluated,the deficiencies of the cost culture of the construction site are pointed out.This study shows that strengthening the cost knowledge training has a significant positive effect on the cost climate cognition of the employees.Nevertheless,accumulation of work experience has a dual impact on that.The CCSS is not only an important foundation for the cost climate research and its theoretical development,but also the premise of the cost climate quantitative research.An appropriate CCSS,to some extent,can reflect the cognitive level of all kinds of employees in one enterprise and cost savings degree of the enterprise in a certain time.The development of CCSS reflects the originality and interactivity,and fills a blank of the CCSS in construction,which is considered to be an effective tool for cost climate research in construction.

DEA-based Empirical Research on the Performance Analysis of China＇s Commercial Bank Information Security System Application

In this paper, the operating performances of the main commercial banks＇ information security management system applications are empirically researched using the DEA method of operating efficiency＇s multi-stage super efficiency. The DEA model of multi-stage super efficiency is established for the commercial bank information security system applications of China＇s banks using data envelopment analysis （DEA）, and then output efficiency, taxation efficiency, and comprehensive efficiency are analyzed by choosing eight banks such as Industrial and Commercial bank of China as sample data, and finally the operating performance of Chinese commercial banks＇ information security management system is concluded.

Empirical Research of Complex Adaptive Blended Learning in English Intensive Reading Teaching

This research intends to employ Complex Adaptive Blended Learning(CABL)in English Intensive Reading teaching.This empirical research tries to work out what is Complex Adaptive Blended Learning Literature review,Definition of blended learning.It would further analyze the core concepts and framework of CABL and discuss the principles of CABL.This empirical study of Complex Adaptive Blended Learning in English Intensive Reading Teaching would be conducted on the Super-star Learning Management System(SLMS).The activities designed in the Complex Adaptive Blended Learning would be analyzed and how they work before class,in class,and after class would be described.The Complex Adaptive Blended Learning not only offers a platform for students to develop their potential in English Intensive Reading class,but also facilitates the data collection for the teachers in their teaching research.

An Empirical Research on the Evolution Model of Competitiveness Between Different Life Cycle Stages in Chinese Enterprises

The characteristic of enterprise competitiveness is different between different life cycle stages. In this paper we surveyed the enterprise competitiveness＇s differences in various stages of the life cycle and the evolution model of three aspects of enterprise com- petitiveness as resource, capability and dynamic capability by questionnaire survey. The result shows that there are significant differences between different life cycle stages of en- terprise competitiveness in China. The enterprise competitiveness is stronger and stronger during the periods from the enterprise＇s birth to maturity, while in the enterprise＇s recession period the competitiveness becomes much weaker. The competitiveness＇s constitutive features in each stage are as follows： in the enterprise＇s born stage the enterprise is lack of resources and its competition mainly relies on the ability; in the enterprise＇s growth stage the enterprise＇s resources become richer and are as important as enterprise＇s ability in the constitution of enterprise competitiveness; in the maturity stage the enterprise＇s people, money and material resources all become very rich but the role of capability in enterprise competitiveness begins to decrease; in the enterprise＇s recession stage the en- terprise resources begin to exhaust, and the enterprise＇s competitiveness returns to rely on capability, and in this period the enterprise＇s learning ability, innovation ability and dynamic mechanisms perform worst, which will affect the enterprise＇s revival and lead to the ultimate death of enterprise. These conclusions have great value for reference to the enterprise＇s competitive strategy making for different life cycle stages.

On Chinese empirical accounting research

This paper reviews and analyzes the achievements of Chinese empirical accounting research during more than ten years. The development of Chinese empirical accounting research can be divided into three phases. Each phase has its different characteristics. The fields of Chinese empirical accounting research include： the efficient market, the choice of accounting policies, financial crisis warning, stock dividend policy, earnings management, capital structure, auditing opinions, asset reorganization and merger, international accounting harmonization. This paper tries to analyze some basic essential factors of Chinese empirical accounting research such as hypothesis, sample and data, methods, conclusion and so on. We find that it is necessary to strengthen empirical accounting research in order to make up the shortcomings of traditional normative research. However, the current research has some limitations. （1） Some Chinese empirical accounting articles directly select samples and data to test without literature reviews, theory analysis and hypothesis; （2） The time of selected samples is shot; （3） Some articles utilize variables to represent certain concepts; （4） Most of the models are literary models; （5） Some researches focus on model and fix quantify, sometimes neglect some factors; （6） Most researches lack great findings, some conclusions are even opposite.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Talent Training Model for Modern Rehabilitation Therapy Technology:A Case Study of School Y

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively evaluate the modern training model of rehabilitation therapy technology talents.Selecting the third-year students of the rehabilitation therapy technology program in School Y as the research subject,300 questionnaires were collected and the effective response rate was 92%.The strengths and weaknesses of the modern training model were analyzed through a mixed qualitative and quantitative research method.It was found that 68%of the students thought that the modern model had obvious advantages in practical teaching,but 42%of the students thought that it still needed to be improved in personalized teaching.This study provides an empirical basis and specific suggestions for optimizing the cultivation of rehabilitation therapy technology talents.

Empirical Study on Protection of Drinking Water in China——Taking Lin'an as an Example

[ObjectiveJ Taking Lin＇an City in Zhejiang Province as an example, the protection of drinking water in China was studied. [Method] Through consulting historical data, questionnaire, and interview, and based on the experience and achievement of protecting drinking water in Lin＇an during the ＂eleventh five-year plan＂ period, problems in the protection of drinking water in Lin＇an was proposed. [ Result] Through empirical study, huge achievement in protecting drinking water in Lin＇an in recent years was achieved. However, there were still problems such as safety problem in the water protection area, room for improving pollution management, investment input and public participation, etc. In response to the problems, it was proposed to strengthen the publicity and education, fortify pollution management and innovate fund raising mechanism, etc. to construct all- round water protection network. [Conclusion] The study provided experience for the protection of drinking water in China.

Research on Financial Performance of State-owned Enterprise Mixed Ownership Reform

Mixed ownership is an important form of realization of China＇s economic system reform and development, and it is also the main direction of state-owned enterprise reform. In order to further promote the deepening of the reform of mixed ownership, this paper randomly selects 200 listed state-owned enterprises as research objects, and studies the trends of the financial performance of these enterprises from the mixed state-owned enterprises and non-mixed-modification enterprises in the five years from 2013 to 2017, and compares their various trends. Financial indicators, a comprehensive evaluation of the problems and causes in the reform of the mixed ownership system, and then propose countermeasures to further deepen the reform of mixed ownership based on the research conclusions.

Educational Practices in the Model of Music Learning Theory of E. Edwin Gordon： An Observational Research

This paper analyzes the supervision activity, to which educators and teachers enrolled with AIGAM （Gordon Italian Association for the Musical Learning） are subject to every year and intends to verify the application of those principles expressed in the learning model of the MLT （Music Learning Theory） developed by educational psychologist E. Edwin Gordon （1989, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007） and promoted internationally by various institutions and organizations specifically accredited. It describes the influence of the videotaped supervision on the process, functions of monitoring, and evaluation of educational practices, starting with an empirical model that has guided the interventions in a study of supervision on training aimed at consolidating and developing professional skills in music education in early childhood. This paper sought to understand： the kind of practices, interactions, communications developing during an educational actions, the existence of a consistent relationship between the principles expressed in the MLT and their application, the type and benefits of supervision performed by of video recording on stakeholders in terms of change in professional behavior, and finally whether the active supervision could be comparable with other kinds of approaches.

Empirical antibiotic treatment with piperacillin-tazobactam in Patients with microbiologically-documented biliary tract infections

AIM: To report our experience with empiric antimicrobial monotherapy (piperacillin/tazobactam, of which no data are available in such specific circumstances) in microbiologically-documented infections in patients with benign and malignant conditions of the biliary tract.METHODS: Twenty-three patients, 10 with benign and 13 with malignant conditions affecting the biliary tree and microbiologically-documented infections were recruited and the efficacy of empirical antibiotic therapy was assessed.RESULTS: The two groups featured similar demographic and clinical data. Overall, the infective episodes were most due to Gram negative agents, more than 60% of such episodes (mostly in malignant conditions) were preceded by invasive instrumental maneuvers. Empirical antibiotic therapy with a single agent (piperacillin/tazobactam) was effective in more than 80% of cases. No deaths were reported following infections. CONCLUSION: An empiric therapeutic approach with piperacillin/tazobactam is highly effective in biliary tract infections due to benign or malignant conditions.

An Empirical Study on Hainan Citizens'Participation in Urban Community Governance under the Background of Free Trade Port Construction

Hainan is in the period of high-speed development and transformation of government management.To build a free trade port with Chinese characteristics requires a modern social governance system that confirms to the trend of the times,and community governance is important part of whole social governance system.Citizens'cooperative participation in grass-roots community governance has the functions of creating a good living environment,reducing social conflicts,improving residents'sense of well-being and attracting all kinds of talents.Based on the perspective of multi cooperative social governance,this paper empirically investigates the current situation of Hainan urban resident's participation in community governance,explores the reasons for the lack of citizen participation in community governance,and puts forward suggestions for improving citizen participation in community governance.

Georgian Farmers＇ Attitudes Towards Genetically Modified Crops

Although, genetically engineered products （GM） have to be a broadly debated topic in different countries, there has been much less attention devoted to farmers＇ attitudes towards GM crops. This paper attempts to research farmers＇ insights on GM crops in Georgia through February-March 2014. An in-depth survey of 611 farmers revealed that respondents lack sufficient knowledge about genetic engineering. They tend to have a negative attitude towards GM crops and are strongly against of import and adoption of GM seeds. An empirical examination based on analysis of variance and Pearson＇s correlation coefficient verified that both education and age were significant determinants of awareness of farmers about genetically engineered crops, while income used to have no significant influence on the farmers＇ decision to adopt GM crops. In addition, relationship between awareness about genetic engineering and farmers＇ decision to adopt GM crops has to be insignificant, as well.

Analyzing the Operational Performance Migration of Telecom Operators

Due to the rapid development of mobile Internet services, such as Skype and WeChat, traditional telecom services have suffered a large decline in the business volumes in recent years. Thus, telecom operators pay much attention to analyzing the changes of the enterprise performance, in order to adjust market strategies in time. In this paper, we propose a new methodology to analyze the operation data of telecom operators dynamically,which can characterize the changing process of the operating states and predict the developing trends. In particular, the proposed methodology contains two steps: migration pattern analysis and trajectory pattern analysis.Firstly, migration analysis is based on the changing of operating states between two points-in-time, which is referred to as the migration paths. Applying the clustering analysis to the migration paths can obtain the migration patterns, which characterize the changing feature of telecom operators during a short period, e.g. one month. Secondly, we combine a sequence of consecutive migration paths to obtain the migration trajectory. Through analyzing different trajectories based on the hierarchical cluster method and the Markov chain model, we obtain the trajectory patterns,which describe the changing progress during a relatively long period, e.g. one year. Based on the trajectory patterns, we can predict the possible performance changes. Finally, we apply the proposed method to a Chinese telecom operator for an empirical research, and has obtained a lot of development rules which provides insights into current telecom.
