The traditional energy system design and operation for campus buildings is only based on the constant room temperature, such as 25~C in summer and 18~C in winter in China, not taking into consideration the real heating or cooling load characteristics of campus buildings with different func- tions during the whole day and whole year, which usually results in a lot of energy waste. This paper proposes to set different set-point temperatures in different operation stages of public and residential campus buildings to reduce the heating and cooling design load for energy station and total campus energy consumption for annual operation. Taking a campus under construction in Tianjin, China as an example, two kinds of single building models were established as the typical public building and residential building models on the campus. Besides, the models were simulated at both set-point room temperature and constant room temperature respectively. The comparison of the simulation results showed that the single building energy saving method of the peak load clipping could be used for further analysis of the annual energy consumption of campus building groups. The results proved that the strategy of set-point temperature optimization could efficiently reduce the design load and energy consumption of campus building groups.展开更多

The segment positioning process was decomposed into rotation, lifting and sliding actions in deriving the energy calculation model of segment erection. The work of gravity was taken into account in the mathematical modeling of energy consumed by each actuator. In order to investigate the relationship between the work done by the actuator and the path moved along by the segment, the upward and downward directions as well as the operating quadrant of the segment erector were defined. Piecewise nonlinear function of energy was presented, of which the result is determined by closely coupled components as working parameters and some intermediate variables. Finally, the effectiveness of the optimization method was proved by conducting a case study with a segment erector for the tunnel with a diameter of 3 m and drawing comparisons between different assembling paths. The results show that the energy required by assembling a ring of segments along the optimized moving path can be reduced up to 5%. The method proposed in this work definitely provides an effective energy saving solution for shield tunneling machine.展开更多

To complement the information required to run the rigorous simulation, Vminmethod is used as a base for the selection of the optimum arrangement among different alternatives. Results obtained from Vmindiagram and shortcut simulation are utilized, by means of the simulator, for the precise simulation of alternative arrangements of methanol distillation under optimum conditions. Taking into account target function profit and the process parameters and conditions, the most optimum parameter value for reaching maximum profit was obtained, based on which all the arrangements with or without their heat integration were compared to each other. Technical and economic analysis results indicate, that increased profit by Prefractionator with heat integration arrangement is 4.79% compared to the base arrangement, while the three-column, four-column and five-column arrangements have benefits increase by 3.61%, 3.55% and 3.46%, respectively.展开更多
