Optimization of Chinese solar greenhouse building parameters based on CFD simulation and entropy weight method

The building parameters of Chinese solar greenhouse(CSG)directly affect the front roof lighting and indoor thermal environment.In order to obtain the optimal parameter combination,a building parameter optimization method based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation and entropy weight method was proposed.Firstly,a three-dimensional thermal and humidity environment model of CSG was constructed considering the coupling effect of soil,crop,and back wall based on CFD.The reliability of the model was validated through experiments in a CSG of Yongqing County,Hebei Province of China.Then,the indoor air temperature rise rate,air temperature and humidity uneven coefficient,and average air temperature and humidity were selected as the evaluation indicators of CSG thermal and humidity environment.The ridge height,back wall height and the horizontal projection of back roof of CSG were selected as the three factors of the orthogonal test plan,and a three-factor and four-level plan was designed,resulting in 16 different parameter combinations.By use of CFD simulation,the thermal and humidity environment evaluation indicators under different parameter combinations were calculated.The entropy weight method was used to assign weights to the evaluation indicators,and the comprehensive evaluation indicators of CSG thermal and humidity environment were obtained based on the linear weighting principle.By comparing comprehensive evaluation indicators,the optimal combination of building parameters was obtained with a ridge height of 5.72 m,a back wall height of 3.2 m,and a horizontal projection of 2.1 m on the back roof.The research results can provide a practical and feasible method for optimizing the building parameters of CSG,and provided theoretical guidance for the structural design and optimization of CSG. 展开更多

Channel avulsion is a natural phenomenon that occurs abruptly on alluvial river deltas,which can affect the channel stability.The causes for avulsion could be generally categorized as topography-and flood-driven factors.However,previous studies on avulsion thresholds usually focused on topography-driven factors due to the centurial or millennial avulsion timescales of the world’s most deltas,but neglected the impacts of flood-driven factors.In the current study,a novel demarcation equation including the two driven factors was proposed,with the decadal timescale of avulsion being considered in the Yellow River Estuary(YRE).In order to quantify the contributions of different factors in each category,an entropy-based methodology was used to calculate the contributing weights of these factors.The factor with the highest weight in each category was then used to construct the demarcation equation,based on avulsion datasets associated with the YRE.An avulsion threshold was deduced according to the demarcation equation.This avulsion threshold was then applied to conduct the risk assessment of avulsion in the YRE.The results show that:two dominant factors cover respectively geomorphic coefficient representing the topography-driven factor and fluvial erosion intensity representing the flood-driven factor,which were thus employed to define a two dimensional mathematical space in which the demarcation equation can be obtained;the avulsion threshold derived from the equation was also applied in the risk assessment of avulsion;and the avulsion threshold proposed in this study is more accurate,as compared with the existing thresholds. 展开更多

Background:One Health has become a global consensus to deal with complex health problems.However,the pro‑gress of One Health implementation in many countries is still relatively slow,and there is a lack of systematic evalua‑tion index.The purpose of this study was to establish an indicator framework for global One Health Intrinsic Drivers index(GOH-IDI)to evaluate human,animal and environmental health development process globally.Method:First,82 studies were deeply analyzed by a grounded theory(GT)method,including open coding,axial coding,and selective coding,to establish a three-level indicator framework,which was composed of three selective codes,19 axial codes,and 79 open codes.Then,through semi-structured interviews with 28 health-related experts,the indicators were further integrated and simplifed according to the inclusion criteria of the indicators.Finally,the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process combined with the entropy weight method was used to assign weights to the indi‑cators,thus,forming the evaluation indicator framework of human,animal and environmental health development process.Results:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was formed consisting of three selective codes,15 axial codes and 61 open codes.There were six axial codes for“Human Health”,of which“Infectious Diseases”had the highest weight(19.76%)and“Injuries and Violence”had the lowest weight(11.72%).There were four axial codes for“Animal Health”,of which“Animal Epidemic Disease”had the highest weight(39.28%)and“Animal Nutritional Status”had the low‑est weight(11.59%).Five axial codes were set under“Environmental Health”,among which,“Air Quality and Climate Change”had the highest weight(22.63%)and“Hazardous Chemicals”had the lowest weight(17.82%).Conclusions:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was established in this study.The framework were universal,balanced,and scientifc,which hopefully to be a tool for evaluation of the joint development of human,animal and environmental health in diferent regions globally. 展开更多

The quantitative determination and evaluation of rock brittleness are crucial for the estimation of excavation efficiency and the improvement of hydraulic fracturing efficiency.Therefore,a“three-stage”triaxial loading and unloading stress path is designed and proposed.Subsequently,six brittleness indices are selected.In addition,the evolution characteristics of the six brittleness indices selected are characterized based on the bedding effect and the effect of confining pressure.Then,the entropy weight method(EWM)is introduced to assign weight to the six brittleness indices,and the comprehensive brittleness index Bcis defined and evaluated.Next,the new brittleness classification standard is determined,and the brittleness differences between the two stress paths are quantified.Finally,compared with the previous evaluation methods,the rationality of the proposed comprehensive brittleness index Bcis also verified.These results indicate that the proposed brittleness index Bccan reflect the brittle characteristics of deep bedded sandstone from the perspective of the whole life-cycle evolution process.Accordingly,the method proposed seems to offer reliable evaluations of the brittleness of deep bedded sandstone in deep engineering practices,although further validation is necessary. 展开更多

Underground energy storage is an important function of all energy supply systems,and especially concerning the seemingly eternal imbalance between production and demand.Salt rock underground energy storage,for one,is widely applied in both traditional and renewable energy fields;and this particular technique can be used to store natural gas,hydrogen,and compressed air.However,resource diversification and structural complexity make the supply system increasingly uncertain with the passing years,leading to great challenges for energy storage facilities in the present,and perhaps going into the future as well.Hence,it is necessary to research the operation stability of underground energy storage further.In this paper,a stability evaluation index system of Underground Gas Storage(UGS)is constructed with natural gas as the main medium,according to FLAC 3D cavity creep simulation software,along with fuzzy membership function to comprehensively determine the impact factor scoring model;the subjective weight is calculated based on the improved Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),the objective weight is calculated by the Entropy Weight Method(EWM),the combined constant weight is obtained by combining the variance maximization theory,and introducing the variable weight theory to obtain a more accurate combined variable weight.Finally,with this all being considered and accounted for,and with the four different conditions designed for UGS deployment case analysis and verification taken into consideration,the combined variable weight evaluation achieved excellent results;compared with the traditional constant weight method,in fact,the new evaluation results are more rigorous and objective. 展开更多

On the basis of using entropy weight method to measure China’s education poverty alleviation and rural revitalization evaluation indicators, using the panel data of 30 provinces in China (excluding Xizang, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) from 2012 to 2021, a spatial panel simultaneous equation model is constructed based on adjacency matrix, geographical distance matrix and economic geographical distance matrix deeply study the interaction mechanism and spatial spillover effects between education poverty alleviation and rural revitalization through the generalized spatial three-stage least squares method (GS3SLS). The results indicate that there is a significant spatial spillover effect and a positive spatial correlation between education poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and there is a significant interactive effect between the two variables, while promoting each other positively. Therefore, the government should clarify the deep relationship between education poverty alleviation and rural revitalization based on the current background, and better consolidate and expand the effective connection between the achievements of education poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. 展开更多

With integration of renewable energy and use of non-linear loads in power systems,the power quality problem is increasingly attracting attention of researchers.In China,standards for individual power quality indexes are set.However,when evaluating power quality in practice,individual indexes cannot directly reflect a comprehensive level of power quality.In this paper,a comprehensive analysis of various indexes is conducted to obtain a unified parameter for describing the characteristics of power quality from an overall perspective.First,weight values of power quality indexes are calculated by combining the subjective and objective weight.Then,based on the principal components of the projection method,projection values of boundary data and data to be evaluated are obtained.Finally,using these projection values,a grade range for power quality data is located.A practical case study is presented to show the validity of the proposed method for evaluating power quality. 展开更多

Printing quality evaluation is an important means to check whether prints are qualfied.However,the urrent printing quality evaluation system for gravure decorative paper is not perfect.In order to solve this problem,a method for evaluating quality of decorative paper based on analytical hierarchy process(AHP)and the entropy weight method(EWM)model is proposed in this paper.So as to verify the proposed model,decorative paper of different grades was selected as the experimental objects.Firstly,the data about five indices eflecting printing quality were measured.Secondly,the evaluation model was used to assign weights to the indices,and scores in each index were calculated according to scoring tables.Finally,the evalua tion scores were statistically analyzed.The results of data analysis showed that the 95% confidence intervals and coefficients of variation were small.The average error of the evaluation system was 0.2061.It indicates that the model can stably distinguish decorative paper of diferent grades,accuracy of which is high.The research in this paper can provide reference to the quality improvement of decorative paper and the printing quality evaluation of other paper. 展开更多

Systematic measurement and spatiotemporal evolution of agricultural versatility in China

In this study,the entropy weight method was used to measure the agricultural versatility of 30 provinces in China(excluding Tibet,Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan)from 2008 to 2019.In addition,the Theil index method and kernel density estimation were used to analyze the spatiotemporal characteristics of the agricultural versatility in each province.The results show that the agricultural product supply and social security functions rapidly developed,but the economic development was weak.From 2008 to 2019,the total functional index of agriculture increased by 6.74%;the functional index of the agricultural product supply,social security,and ecological services increased by 12.72%,5.53%,and 2.05%,respectively;and the functional index of economic development decreased by 1.32%.The development of agricultural multifunctions in China is regionally heterogeneous.Based on the Theil index method,the differences in the agricultural functions of the three regions are mainly due to intragroup differences.The contribution of intragroup differences of the eight economic regions is significantly lower than that of the three regions.However,intragroup differences dominate the agricultural product supply,economic development,and social security functions and intergroup differences control the ecological service function.The kernel density estimation curve shows that the overall agricultural functional evaluation index increased,among which the agricultural product supply function increased the most. 展开更多

Greenway is a green linear corridor connecting scenic spots, residential areas, nature reserves, road traffic, etc. Rational greenway route selection can not only attract tourists to increase the income of local villages, but also arouse people’s awareness of the protection of traditional villages. This paper took Xingtai County, Hebei Province, China as an example to practice greenway route selection in the county territory. Eight factors were selected for greenway route planning, namely elevation, water body, mountain, ecological protection redline, cultural relics protection units, population density, road traffic network, and important transportation hub. These eight factors were assigned in the GIS platform, and the suitability evaluation system of each factor was constructed. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and entropy weight method were combined to calculate the weight of these eight factors. The raster calculator was used to weight and overlay the suitability evaluation system of each factor, and the comprehensive suitability evaluation map of greenway route selection was obtained. Based on an important transport hub, along with the water body and the road traffic, the final selection greenway route of traditional villages in Xingtai county was formed. The results of the research can provide a certain reference for the greenway route selection at the county scale. 展开更多

Based on the connotation and process of innovation-driven development, we have developed a comprehensive evaluation system containing 20 indicators in five aspects, including innovation factors, innovation subjects, innovation environments, innovation outputs, and development performance, to measure the levels of innovation-driven development in Sichuan province. Selecting 21 cities and prefectures in Sichuan province as research objects, we evaluated and measured the innovation-driven development levels of each city and prefecture using the entropy weight method(EWM). According to the evaluation results, the 21 cities and prefectures were divided into four categories depending on their levels of innovation-driven development: advanced-level, high-level, medium-level, and low-level. The results show that there are obvious spatial differences in terms of innovation-driven development levels among cities and prefectures in Sichuan province. Specifically, Chengdu, Mianyang, Panzhihua, and Deyang cities rank among the top four cities because of their advanced and high levels of innovation-driven development, while other cities and prefectures are at the medium and low levels. We also analyzed the innovation-driven development policies and practices of cities and prefectures in Sichuan province, to provide guidance for implementing innovation-driven development strategies in the cities and prefectures in the future. 展开更多

By constructing a comprehensive evaluation system for Guangdong’s foreign trade business environment based on the annual data from 2015 to 2019,factor analysis and entropy weight method are adopted to analyze Guangdong’s foreign trade business environment in recent years.This study discusses the aspects that the government should focus on in order to improve the foreign trade business environment more effectively.The results of the study are as follows:first,the overall differences in the foreign trade business environment of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration are small,and the cities play an important role in improving the foreign trade business environment;second,the foreign trade business environment is not fully constrained by economic development,so the foreign trade business environment can be more advanced than the city’s economic level and serve as the impetus for economic growth;third,there has been an improvement in how the attractiveness of foreign capital influences the foreign trade business environment.The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)agreement should be implemented in local cities,in order to construct an institutional framework of fair competition,enhance the transparency of investment barriers,and strengthen the protection of foreign investors’rights. 展开更多

Purpose:The purpose of this paper is to measure author influence in scientific collaboration networks by considering the combined effects of multiple indexes.In the meanwhile,we intend to explore a method to avoid assigning subjective weights.Design/methodology/approach:We applied four centrality measures(degree centrality,betweenness centrality,closeness centrality and eigenvector centrality)and authors’published papers to the scientific collaboration network.The grey relational analysis(GRA)method based on information entropy was used to measure an author’s impact in the collaboration network.The weight of each evaluation index was determined based on information entropy.The ACM SIGKDD collaboration network was selected as an example to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of our method.Findings:Author influence was not always positively correlated with evaluation indexes such as degree centrality and betweenness centrality.This implies that combined effects of multiple indexes should be considered in author impact analysis.The introduction of the GRA method based on information entropy can reduce the interference of human factors in the evaluation process.Research limitations:We only analyzed author influence from the perspective of scientific collaboration,but the impact of citation on author influence was ignored.Practical implications:The proposed method can be also applied to detect influential authors in bibliographic co-citation network,author co-citation network,bibliographic coupling network or author coupling network.It would help facilitate scientific collaboration and enhance scholarly communication.Originality/value:This paper proposes an analytical method of evaluating author influence in scientific collaboration networks,in which combined effects of multiple indexes are considered and the interference of human factors is reduced in the evaluation process. 展开更多

Knowing daily traffic for the current year is recognized as being essential in many fields of transport analysis and practice, and short-term forecasting models offer a set of tools to meet these needs. This paper examines and compares the accuracy of three representative parametric and non-parametric prediction models, selected by the analysis of the numerous methods proposed in the literature for their good combi- nation of forecast accuracy and ease of calibration, using real-life data on Italian motorway stretches. Non-parametric K-NN regression model, Gaussian maximum likelihood model and double seasonality Holt-Winters exponential smoothing model confirm their goodness to predict the weekly and monthly fluctuations of average daily traffic with varying degrees of performance, while maintaining an easy use in professional practice, i.e. requiring ordinary professional skills and conventional analysis tools. Since combining several prediction models can give, on average, more accuracy than that of the individual models, the paper compares two weighting methods of easy implementation and susceptible to a direct use, namely the widely used information entropy method and the less widespread Shapley value method. Despite being less common than the information entropy method, the Shapley value method proves to be more capable in better combining single forecasts and produces improvements in the predictions for test data. With these remarks, the paper might be of interest to traffic technicians or analysts, in various and not uncommon tasks they might find in their work. 展开更多

Global climate change makes forestry carbon sequestration a hot issue. In order to improve the comprehensive benefits of forest management, this paper studies the carbon accounting problem, and uses the forest stock conversion factor method to create a carbon sequestration accounting model based on the reserve transformation method. Then, the HWP carbon sequestration accounting algorithm is obtained after the improvement of the reserve change method and the atmospheric flow method with the HWP half-life as a bridge. Based on the ecological and economic benefits, a multi-objective and multi-attribute decision-making model for forest management plan is constructed, and the optimal strategy of stand structure based on selective cutting is proposed. Finally, the entropy weight TOPSIS method is used to quantitatively analyze the comprehensive benefit value and provide suggestions for forestry departments. To verify the model, we chose the Greater Khingan Mountains forest region as the research site. Through successive iterations of CSAM, we calculate that the forest will absorb 534 million tons of live forest and forest products in 100 years. From the stand structure of the forest area, when the selected cutting intensity is 20% and the selected cutting cycle is 10.7 years, the comprehensive benefit value of the Greater Khingan Mountains is the highest. 展开更多
