One-dimensional and quasi-one-dimensional nanostructure materials are promising building blocks for electromagnetic devices and nanosystems.In this work,the composite Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4(NZFO)/ Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3(PZT) nanofibers with average diameters about 65 nm are prepared by electrospinning from poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) and metal salts.The precursor composite NZFO/PZT/PVP nanofibers and the subsequent calcined NZFO/PZT nanofibers are investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT- IR) ,X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The magnetic properties for nanofibers are measured by vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM).The NZFO/PZT nanofibers obtained at calcination temperature of 900 °C for 2 h consist of the ferromagnetic spinel NZFO and ferroelectric perovskite PZT phases,which are constructed from about 37 nm NZFO and 17 nm PZT grains.The saturation magnetization of these NZFO/PZT nanofibers increases with increasing calcination temperature and contents of NZFO in the composite. 展开更多

The up-conversion luminescence composite NaYF4:Er3+/TiO2 is prepared using the sol-gel method. The specimen has good crystallinity and two shapes, i.e., viereck and round, while the sizes of viereck and round particles are both micron-sized. The TiO2 has an anatase structure, while the NaYF4 has a hexagonal phase, which can be hardly obtained through the common sol-gel method. Due to the big particle size and the high crystallinity of pure NaYF4: Er3+, the composite has a small specific surface area that is less than Degussa P25 TiO2. The NaYF4:Er3+/TiO2 composite shows several emission peaks at 211, 237, and 251 nm under the excitation of 388 nm, at 395 nm and 411 nm under the excitation of 500 nm, and at 467, 481,492, and 508 nm under the excitation of 570 nm. 展开更多

Self-Propagating High-Temperature Reductive Synthesis of TiB_2-Al_2O_3 Composite Powders

TiB2-Al2O3 composite powders were produced by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis(SHS) method with reductive process from B2O3-TiO2-AI system. X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM... TiB2-Al2O3 composite powders were produced by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis(SHS) method with reductive process from B2O3-TiO2-AI system. X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) analyses show the presence of TiB2 and Al2O3 only in the composite powders produced by SHS. The powders are uniform and free-agglomerate. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution electron microscopy (HREM) observation of microstructure of the composite powders indicate that the interfaces of the TiB2-Al2O3 bond well, without any interfacial reaction products. It is proposed that the good interfacial bonding of the composite powders can be resulted from the TiB2 particles crystallizing and growing on the Al2O3 particles surface with surface defects acting as nucleation centers. 展开更多

Aligning Fe_(2)O_(3)photo-sheets on TiO_(2)nanofibers with hydrophilic and aerophobic surface for boosting photoelectrochemical performance

Photoelectrochemical(PEC)nanomaterials are critical to producing clean oxygenation or value-added chemical production by utilizing sustainable solar energy,but are always limited by simultaneous integration of architectural engineering and electronic regulation in one structure.Directed by density functional theory(DFT)calculations and finite element analysis(FEA),the bioinspired ivy-like Fe_(2)O_(3)heterostructures with enriched oxygen defects on TiO_(2)nanofibers are designed for boosting PEC performances.Ivy-like Fe_(2)O_(3)photo-sheets remarkably enhanced the light harvesting by multiple light-mater interactions.The oxygen vacancies on Fe_(2)O_(3)photo-sheets could aid the photons catching and promote the reactivity at active sites.More importantly,demonstrated by a well-designed dynamic observation,the abundant tip-edges within ivy-like Fe_(2)O_(3)photo-sheets enabled the surface of heterostructure with hydrophilic and aerophobic properties.The functionalized surface allowed the rapid desorption of produced bubbles and thus ensured a high density of unoccupied active sites for electrolyte accessing.Featured by these attributes,the Fe_(2)O_(3)@TiO_(2)nanofibers delivered an excellent photocurrent of 40.8 mA/mg,high donor density(1.2×10^(18)cm^(−3)),and rapid oxygen production rate(1 mmol/(L∙h)).This work demonstrates a new strategy on nano-structural design for enhancing light-harvesting and making a hydrophilic/aerophobic surface on low-dimensional oxide nanomaterial,holding great potential on designing high-performance PEC devices for producing survival source gas,carbon-neutral fuel,and valuedchemicals. 展开更多

The influence of Er_2 O_3 addition on the phase evolution and mechanical properties of sintered(1600 ℃,4 h) ZTA(yttria stabilized zirconia toughened alumina)-TiO_2 composites was investigated. The SEM and XRD results reveal the formation of a new erbium zirconium oxide,Zr_3 Er_4 O_(12),with a granulate morphology when Er_2 O_3 content is higher than 1 wt%. The grain sizes of both Al_2 O_3 and yttria-stabilized zirconia phases decrease with an increase in the Er_2 O_3 content. The relative density, Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of the composites are found to be strongly dependent on their grain sizes, relative densities and the formation of the Zr_3 Er_4 O_(12) secondary phases. The composite with 5 wt% Er_2 O_3 shows the highest relative density(99.93%), Vickers hardness(1752 HV) and fracture toughness(7.92 MPa·m^(1/2)). 展开更多

A nanoheterojunction composite photocatalyst Bi2O3/TiO2 working under visible-light (λ≥ 420 nm) was prepared by combining two semiconductors Bi2O3 and TiO2 varying the Bi2O3/TiO2 molar ratio. Maleic acid was employed as an organic binder to unite Bi2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles. The SEM, TEM, XRD and diffuse reflectance spectra were utilized to characterize the prepared Bi2O3/TiO2 nanoheterojunction. The nanocomposite exhibited unusual high photocatalytic activity in decomposing 2-propanol in gas phase and phenol in aqueous phase and, evolution of CO2 under visible light irradiation while the end members exhibited low photocatalytic activity. The composite was optimized to 5 mol% Bi2O3/TiO2. The remarkable high photocatalytic efficiency originates from the unique relative energy band position of Bi2O3 and TiO2 as well as the absorption of visible light by Bi2O3. 展开更多

采用共沉淀法和sol-gel法制备了Y2O3:Er3+,Y2O3:Er3+/Yb3+和Y2O3:Er3++TiO2三种样品.通过扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、透射电子显微镜(TEM)、比表面积仪、紫外可见分光光度计及荧光光谱仪分析和测试了样品的表面形貌、比表面积、孔隙度、紫外... 采用共沉淀法和sol-gel法制备了Y2O3:Er3+,Y2O3:Er3+/Yb3+和Y2O3:Er3++TiO2三种样品.通过扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、透射电子显微镜(TEM)、比表面积仪、紫外可见分光光度计及荧光光谱仪分析和测试了样品的表面形貌、比表面积、孔隙度、紫外可见吸收光谱和室温下的荧光光谱.SEM和TEM测试表明共沉淀法制备的样品发光离子分散性很好;sol-gel法制备的Y2O3:Er3++TiO2表面分布着许多的介孔,颗粒直径在10nm左右.对3种样品的孔径分布和表面积测试表明,Y2O3:Er3+和TiO2复合后的性质不是两种物质性质的简单叠加,其比表面积高达135.991m2/g,是纯Y2O3:Er3+的4.8倍,是纯Degussa P25 TiO2的2.5倍,如此高的比表面积有利于提高TiO2的光催化性能.样品的荧光光谱显示其在388,500和570nm的可见光激发下分别对应在237,395和467nm处各有一个上转换发光峰. 展开更多

Pd supported on TiO2-Al2O3 binary oxides prepared by coprecipitation method has been investigated for the total oxidation of methane. All Pd/TiO2-Al2O3 catalysts show higher activity than Pd/Al2O3 and Pd/TiO2. Among them, Pd/2Ti-3Al with a Ti/Al ratio of 2 to 3 has a T90% of 395 ℃ at a gas hourly mass velocity of 33000 mL/(h*g), which is at least 50 ℃ lower than that of Pd supported on single metal oxide Al2O3 or TiO2. The results of TPR and ^180-isotope exchange experiments demonstrated that the excellent activity of Pd/2Ti-3Al was due to its high oxygen mobility and moderate reducibility, which is in accordance with our previous work, XPS results indicated that the dispersion of Pd was not the key factor to influence the catalytic activity. 展开更多
