The observation error model of the underwater acous-tic positioning system is an important factor to influence the positioning accuracy of the underwater target.For the position inconsistency error caused by considering the underwater tar-get as a mass point,as well as the observation system error,the traditional error model best estimation trajectory(EMBET)with little observed data and too many parameters can lead to the ill-condition of the parameter model.In this paper,a multi-station fusion system error model based on the optimal polynomial con-straint is constructed,and the corresponding observation sys-tem error identification based on improved spectral clustering is designed.Firstly,the reduced parameter unified modeling for the underwater target position parameters and the system error is achieved through the polynomial optimization.Then a multi-sta-tion non-oriented graph network is established,which can address the problem of the inaccurate identification for the sys-tem errors.Moreover,the similarity matrix of the spectral cluster-ing is improved,and the iterative identification for the system errors based on the improved spectral clustering is proposed.Finally,the comprehensive measured data of long baseline lake test and sea test show that the proposed method can accu-rately identify the system errors,and moreover can improve the positioning accuracy for the underwater target positioning. 展开更多

In order to improve the process precision of an XY laser annealing table, a geometric error modeling, and an identification and compensation method were proposed. Based on multi-body system theory, a geometric error model for the laser annealing table was established. It supports the identification of 7 geometric errors affecting the annealing accuracy. An original identification method was presented to recognize these geometric errors. Positioning errors of 5 lines in the workspace were measured by a laser interferometer, and the 7 geometric errors were identified by the proposed algorithm. Finally, a software-based error compensation method was adopted, and a compensation mechanism was developed in a postprocessor based on LabVIEW. The identified geometric errors can be compensated by converting ideal NC codes to actual NC codes. A validation experiment has been conducted on the laser annealing table, and the results indicate that positioning errors of two validation lines decreased from ±37 μm and ±33 μm to ±5 μm and ±4.5 μm, respectively. The geometric error modeling, identification and compensation method presented in this work can be straightforwardly extended to any configurations of 2-dimensional worktable. 展开更多

Machine tool has been widely used in the production of the military and civilian.The machining precision of the workpiece is the direct reflection for the machining performance of machine tool.With the improvement for requirement of the machining precision,improving the accuracy of machining is becoming important.Guideway and spindle are the key motion components that decided the shape,the relative position and the surface roughness of the workpiece.In order to adapt to the requirements of the workpiece machining,this paper analyzes the errors of guideway and spindle that affect the accuracy of the processing,establishes the motion relations for every errors of guideway in machining process,identifies the regular for the straightness,bending of the guideway and rotating error of spindle that influences the workpiece surface.Finally,according to the correlation analysis of the measured and the simulation results,the motion error of machine tool is identified,which lays the foundation for improving the accuracy of machine tool in next step. 展开更多

In this case, the conventional regression model and the least squares (LS) method will result in bias. Based on the models of inertial navigation platform error and observation error, the errors-in-variables (EV) model and the total least squares (TLS) method axe proposed to identify the error model of the inertial navigation platform. The estimation precision is improved and the result is better than the conventional regression model based LS method. The simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

Robust Principal Component Test in Gross Error Detection and Identification

However, classical principal com- ponent test (PCT) is non-robust and can be very sensitive to one or more outliers. In this paper, a Huber function liked robust weight factor was added in the collective chi-square test to eliminate the influence of gross errors on the PCT. Meanwhile, robust chi-square test was applied to modified simultaneous estimation of gross error (MSEGE) strategy to detect and identify multiple gross errors. Simulation results show that the proposed robust test can reduce the possibility of type Ⅱ errors effectively. Adding robust chi-square test into MSEGE does not obviously improve the power of multiple gross error identification, the proposed approach considers the influence of outliers on hypothesis statistic test and is more reasonable. 展开更多

High-speed pick-and-place parallel robot is a system where the inertia imposed on the motor shafts is real-time changing with the system configurations.High quality of computer control with proper controller parameters is conducive to overcoming this problem and has a significant effect on reducing the robot's tracking error.By taking Delta robot as an example,a method for parameter tuning of the fixed gain motion controller is presented.Having identifying the parameters of the servo system in the frequency domain by the sinusoidal excitation,the PD+feedforward control strategy is proposed to adapt to the varying inertia loads,allowing the controller parameters to be tuned by minimizing the mean square tracking error along a typical trajectory.A set of optimum parameters is obtained through computer simulations and the effectiveness of the proposed approach is validated by experiments on a real prototype machine.Let the traveling plate undergoes a specific trajectory and the results show that the tracking error can be reduced by at least 50%in comparison with the conventional auto-tuning and Z-N methods.The proposed approach is a whole workspace optimization and can be applied to the parameter tuning of fixed gain motion controllers. 展开更多

This paper develops a feedforward neural network based input output model for a general unknown nonlinear dynamic system identification when only the inputs and outputs are accessible observations. In the developed model, the size of the input space is directly related to the system order. By monitoring the identification error characteristic curve, we are able to determine the system order and subsequently an appropriate network structure for systems identification. Simulation results are promising and show that generic nonlinear systems can be identified, different cases of the same system can also be discriminated by our model. 展开更多

Geometric error,mainly due to imperfect geometry and dimensions of machine components,is one of the major error sources of machine tools.Considering that geometric error has significant effects on the machining quality of manufactured parts,it has been a popular topic for academic and industrial research for many years.A great deal of research work has been carried out since the 1970s for solving the problem and improving the machining accuracy.Researchers have studied how to measure,detect,model,identify,reduce,and compensate the geometric errors.This paper presents a thorough review of the latest research activities and gives an overview of the state of the art in understanding changes in machine tool performance due to geometric errors.Recent advances in measuring the geometrical errors of machine tools are summarized,and different kinds of error identification methods of translational axes and rotation axes are illustrated respectively.Besides,volumetric geometric error modeling,tracing,and compensation techniques for five-axis machine tools are emphatically introduced.Finally,research challenges in order to improve the volumetric accuracy of machine tools are also highlighted. 展开更多

Wavelet transform as a means to process the measured signal of workpiece surface, the frequency characteristics of gas fluctuation of aerostatic guideways has been extracted out from the measured signal,and the errors of the guideway system have been identified according to the power spectral density (PSD) ,and this provide a basis for the identification of machine tool error. 展开更多

This paper presents an efficient robot calibration method with non-contact vision metrology. Using the coplanar pattern to calibrate camera made the active-vision-based end-effector pose measurement be a feasible and costeffective way. Kinematic parameter errors were linearized and identified through two-step procedure, thus the singular and non-linear condition was overcome. These errors were then compensated using inverse model method. The whole calibration process is flexible, easy to implement and prevents the error propagation from the earlier stages to the later ones. Calibration was performed on MOTOMAN SV3industrial robot. Experiment results show that the proposed method is easy to setup and with satisfactory accuracy. 展开更多

In this paper,an analysis for ill conditioning problem in subspace identifcation method is provided.The subspace identifcation technique presents a satisfactory robustness in the parameter estimation of process model which performs control.As a frst step,the main geometric and mathematical tools used in subspace identifcation are briefly presented.In the second step,the problem of analyzing ill-conditioning matrices in the subspace identifcation method is considered.To illustrate this situation,a simulation study of an example is introduced to show the ill-conditioning in subspace identifcation.Algorithms numerical subspace state space system identifcation(N4SID)and multivariable output error state space model identifcation(MOESP)are considered to study,the parameters estimation while using the induction motor model,in simulation(Matlab environment).Finally,we show the inadequacy of the oblique projection and validate the efectiveness of the orthogonal projection approach which is needed in ill-conditioning;a real application dealing with induction motor parameters estimation has been experimented.The obtained results proved that the algorithm based on orthogonal projection MOESP,overcomes the situation of ill-conditioning in the Hankel s block,and thereby improving the estimation of parameters. 展开更多
