The basic framework, management system of multiple ESs, and functions of MESIDSS are presented. The applications of MESIDSS in large-scale decision making processes are discussed from the following aspects of problem decomposing, dynamic combination of multiple ESs, link of multiple bases and decision coordinating. This essay examines this transformed labor regime by outlining the discourses and imaginaries of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in late 197os and 198os China when expert systems-an artificial intelligence system designed to provide expert consultation in the absence of human experts-first appeared. I argue that these discourses and imaginaries surrounding expert systems were tied to the anticipation of a coming information society, and to the fetish of expert knowledge, and a shift from Mao's class-based politics to a depoliticized realm of professionalism. Bringing together the material, technical development of AI, the intellectual discourse of Post-Mao 1980s, as well as the imaginary domain of science fiction, this essay rethinks the politics of the "human" in the social context of Post-Mao's era. The prototype is connected to the database with DAO (Date Access Object) technique, and makes the Petri net's firing mechanism and its analyzing methods to be packed up as DLL (Dynamic Link Library) documents. This paper takes the solar battery array as an instance to introduce the designing principle of its hardware circuits, and presents the methods to design the interface and the software program of the single-chip microprocessor system. The software scheme of the upper computer is introduced at the end of this paper. Virtual humans that represent an evolut...Little by little, we are entering the new era, intelligent interfaces are absorbing us more and more every day, and artificial intelligence makes its presence in a stealthy way. Virtual humans that represent an evolution of autonomous virtual agents;they are computer programs and in the future capable of carrying out different activities in certain environments. They will give the illusion of being human;they will have a body, and they will be immersed in an environment. They will have a set of senses that will allow them: 1) Sensations and therefore associated expressions;2) Communication;3) Learning;4) Remembering events, among others. By integrating the above, they will have a personality and autonomy, so they will be able to plan with respect to objectives;allowing them to decide and take actions with their body, in other words, they will count on awareness. The applications will be focused on environments that they will inhabit, or as interfaces that will interact with other systems. The application domains will be multiple;one of them being education. This article shows the design of OANNA like an avatar with the role of pedagogical agent. It was modeled as an affective-cognitive structure related to the teaching-learning process linked to a pedagogical agent that represents the interface of an artilect. Expert systems are effective for anomaly detection in building energy systems.However,it is usually inefficient to establish comprehensive rule bases manually for complex building energy systems.Association rule minin...Expert systems are effective for anomaly detection in building energy systems.However,it is usually inefficient to establish comprehensive rule bases manually for complex building energy systems.Association rule mining is available to accelerate the establishment of the rule bases due to its powerful capability of discovering rules from numerous data.This paper proposes a real-time abnormal operation pattern detection method towards building energy systems.It can benefit from both expert systems and association rule mining.Association rules are utilized to establish association rule bases of abnormal and normal operation patterns.The established rule bases are then utilized to develop an expert system for real-time detection of abnormal operation patterns.The proposed method is applied to an actual chiller plant for evaluating its performance.Results show that 15 types of known abnormal operation patterns and 11 types of unknown abnormal operation patterns are detected successfully by the proposed method.展开更多

As a key application of smart grid technologies,the smart distribution network(SDN)is expected to have a high diversity of equipment and complexity of operation patterns.Situational awareness(SA),which aims to provide...As a key application of smart grid technologies,the smart distribution network(SDN)is expected to have a high diversity of equipment and complexity of operation patterns.Situational awareness(SA),which aims to provide a critical visibility of the SDN,will enable a significant assurance for stable SDN operations.However,the lack of systematic evaluation through the three stages of perception,comprehensive,and prediction may prevent the SA technique from effectively achieving the performance necessary to monitor and respond to events in SDN.To analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of the SA technique for the SDN,a comprehensive evaluation framework with specific performance indicators and systematic weighting methods is proposed in this paper.Besides,to implement the indicator framework while addressing the key issues of human expert scoring ambiguity and the lack of data in specific SDN areas,an improved interval-based analytic hierarchy process-based subjective weighting and a multi-objective programming method-based objective weighting are developed to evaluate the SDN SA performance.In addition,a case study in a real distribution network of Tianjin,China is conducted whose outcomes verify the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed SA technique for SDN operating security.展开更多

The system first analyzed the music form and sentiment using many basic features of the music to select a basic fountain program. Then, this program is simulated with 3-D animation and modified manually to achieve the desired results. Finally, the program is transformed to a computer control program to control the musical fountain in time with the music. A prototype system for the musical fountain was also developed. It was tested with many styles of music and users were quite satisfied with its performance. By integrating various functions, the proposed computer aided design system for developing musical fountain programs greatly simplified the design of the musical fountain programs.展开更多
During the 21 st century,artificial intelligence methods have been broadly applied in geosciences to simulate complex dynamic ecosystems,but the use of artificial intelligence(AI)methods to reproduce land-use/cover ch...During the 21 st century,artificial intelligence methods have been broadly applied in geosciences to simulate complex dynamic ecosystems,but the use of artificial intelligence(AI)methods to reproduce land-use/cover change(LUCC)in arid ecosystems remains rare.This paper presents a hybrid modeling approach to understand the complexity in LUCC.Fuzzy logic,equation-based systems,and expert systems are combined to predict LUCC as determined by water resources and other factors.The driving factors of LUCC in this study include climate change,ecological flooding,groundwater conditions,and human activities.The increase of natural flooding was found to be effective in preventing vegetation degradation.LUCCs are sensitive under different climate projections of RCP2.6,RCP4.5,and RCP8.5.Simulation results indicate that the increase of precipitation is not able to compensate for the additional evaporation losses resulting from temperature increases.The results indicate that grassland,shrub,and riparian forest regions will shrink in this study area.The change in grasslands has a strong negative correlation with the change in groundwater salinity,whereas forest change had a strong positive correlation with ecological flooding.The application of artificial intelligence to study LUCC can guide land management policies and make predictions regarding land degradation.展开更多

Massive investments in climate change mitigation and adaptation are projected during coming decades.Many of these investments will seek to modify how land is managed.The return on both types of investments can be incr...Massive investments in climate change mitigation and adaptation are projected during coming decades.Many of these investments will seek to modify how land is managed.The return on both types of investments can be increased through an understanding of land potential:the potential of the land to support primary production and ecosystem services,and its resilience.A Land-Potential Knowledge System(LandPKS)is being developed and implemented to provide individual users with point-based estimates of land potential based on the integration of simple,geo-tagged user inputs with cloud-based information and knowledge.This system will rely on mobile phones for knowledge and information exchange,and use cloud computing to integrate,interpret,and access relevant knowledge and information,including local knowledge about land with similar potential.The system will initially provide management options based on long-term land potential,which depends on climate,to-pography,and relatively static soil properties,such as soil texture,depth,and mineralogy.Future mod-ules will provide more specific management information based on the status of relatively dynamic soil properties such as organic matter and nutrient content,and of weather.The paper includes a discus-sion of how this system can be used to help distinguish between meteorological and edaphic drought.展开更多
