Extensible Markup Language Data Mining System Model

The existing data mining methods are mostly focused on relational databases and structured data, but not on complex structured data (like in extensible markup language(XML)). By converting XML document type description to the relational semantic recording XML data relations, and using an XML data mining language, the XML data mining system presents a strategy to mine information on XML.

XML-based integration data model and schema mappingin multidatabase systems

Multidatabase systems are designed to achieve schema integration and data interoperation among distributed and heterogeneous database systems. But data model heterogeneity and schema heterogeneity make this a challenging task. A multidatabase common data model is firstly introduced based on XML, named XML-based Integration Data Model (XIDM), which is suitable for integrating different types of schemas. Then an approach of schema mappings based on XIDM in multidatabase systems has been presented. The mappings include global mappings, dealing with horizontal and vertical partitioning between global schemas and export schemas, and local mappings, processing the transformation between export schemas and local schemas. Finally, the illustration and implementation of schema mappings in a multidatabase prototype - Panorama system are also discussed. The implementation results demonstrate that the XIDM is an efficient model for managing multiple heterogeneous data sources and the approaches of schema mapping based on XIDM behave very well when integrating relational, object-oriented database systems and other file systems.

Data Transfer Over the Internet for Real Time Applications

Efficient real time data exchange over the Internet plays a crucial role in the successful application of web-based systems. In this paper, a data transfer mechanism over the Internet is proposed for real time web based applications. The mechanism incorporates the eXtensible Markup Language （XML） and Hierarchical Data Format （HDF） to provide a flexible and efficient data format. Heterogeneous transfer data is classified into light and heavy data, which are stored using XML and HDF respectively; the HDF data format is then mapped to Java Document Object Model （JDOM） objects in XML in the Java environment. These JDOM data objects are sent across computer networks with the support of the Java Remote Method Invocation （RMI） data transfer infrastructure. Client＇s defined data priority levels are implemented in RMI, which guides a server to transfer data objects at different priorities. A remote monitoring system for an industrial reactor process simulator is used as a case study to illustrate the proposed data transfer mechanism.

DATA CONTEXT MODEL IN THE PRO-CESS INTEGRATION FRAMEWORK

Process integration is the important aspect of product development process. The recent researches focus on project management, workflow management and process modeling. Based on the analysis of the process, product development process is divided into three levels according to different grains from macroscopy to microcosm. Our research concentrate on the workflow and the free-grained design process. According to the need of representing the data and the relationships among them for process integration, context model is introduced, and its characters are analyzed. The tree-like structure of inheritance among context model＇s classes is illustrated; The relationships of reference among them are also explained. Then, extensible markup language （XML） file is used to depict these classes. A four-tier framework of process integration has been established, in which model-view-controller pattern is designed to realize the separation between context model and its various views. The integration of applications is applied by the encapsulation of enterprise＇s business logic as distributed services. The prototype system for the design of air filter is applied in an institute.

XML-based Data Processing in Network Supported Collaborative Design

In the course of network supported collaborative design, the data processing plays a very vital role. Much effort has been spent in this area, and many kinds of approaches have been proposed. Based on the correlative materials, this paper presents extensible markup language （XML） based strategy for several important problems of data processing in network supported collaborative design, such as the representation of standard for the exchange of product model data （STEP） with XML in the product information expression and the management of XML documents using relational database. The paper gives a detailed exposition on how to clarify the mapping between XML structure and the relationship database structure and how XML-QL queries can be translated into structured query language （SQL） queries. Finally, the structure of data processing system based on XML is presented.

Design and implementation of digital content metadata system

Today's multimedia services are far beyond just the voice and data services:they have been diversified tremendously after fueled by the advancement of network infrastructures as well as the sudden surge of multimedia data itself.Currently,researches on metadata insertion,management and transfer keep going very well in order to provide a variety of services to users.In this paper,we propose the design and implementation methods of digital contents metadata system for insertion,storage and retrieval of metadata.The performance evaluation shows that the proposed method performs better than the existing method.

Implementing ATML in Distributed ATS for SG-Ⅲ Prototype

With the forthcoming large-scale scientific experimental systems, we are looking for ways to construct an open, distributed architecture within the new and the existing automatic test systems. The new standard of Automatic Test Markup Language meets our demand for data exchange for this architecture through defining the test routines and resultant data in the XML format. This paper introduces the concept of ATML（Automatic Test Markup Language） and related standards, and the significance of these new standards for a distributed automatic test system. It also describes the implementation of ATML through the integration of this technology among the existing and new test systems.

Research on Metamodels Consistency Verification Based on Formalization of Domain-Specific Metamodeling Language

Domain-specific metamodeling language(DSMML) defined by informal method cannot strictly represent its structural semantics,so its properties such as consistency cannot be holistically and systematically verified.In response,the paper proposes a formal representation of the structural semantics of DSMML named extensible markup language(XML) based metamodeling language(XMML) and its metamodels consistency verification method.Firstly,we describe our approach of formalization,based on this,the method of consistency verification of XMML and its metamodels based on first-order logical inference is presented;then,the formalization automatic mapping engine for metamodels is designed to show the feasibility of our formal method.

Bioinformatics Data Distribution and Integration via Web Services and XML

It is widely recognized that exchange, distribution, and integration of biological data are the keys to improve bioinformatics and genome biology in post-genomic era. However, the problem of exchanging and integrating biological data is not solved satisfactorily. The extensible Markup Language (XML) is rapidly spreading as an emerging standard for structuring documents to exchange and integrate data on the World Wide Web (WWW). Web service is the next generation of WWW and is founded upon the open standards of W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). This paper presents XML and Web Services technologies and their use for an appropriate solution to the problem of bioinformatics data exchange and integration .

Semantic-Discovery of Construction Project Files

The dynamics of a construction project generates a huge amount of information for processing. Most project information is recorded in digital files and managed in a decentralized way. Current document management tools do not consider the semantic relationships between files and then cannot discover files based on their content or ensure information consistency across various information repositories. This paper presents a semantic-discovery method for accessing project information across repositories. By adopting semantic web technologies, including extensible markup language (XML), ontology, and logic rules, the semantic-discovery tool can access project files by their properties and relations. The method has been applied to searching for files using documents from a real project. The results show that the semantic content of a file can be used to ensure that only related files are retrieved.

Cloud authorization： exploring techniques and approach towards effective access control framework

Despite the various attractive features that Cloud has to offer, the rate of Cloud migration is rather slow, pri- marily due to the serious security and privacy issues that exist in the paradigm. One of the main problems in this regard is that of authorization in the Cloud environment, which is the focus of our research. In this paper, we present a systematic analysis of the existing authorization solutions in Cloud and evaluate their effectiveness against well-established industrial standards that conform to the unique access control require- ments in the domain. Our analysis can benefit organizations by helping them decide the best authorization technique for deployment in Cloud; a case study along with simulation re- sults is also presented to illustrate the procedure of using our qualitative analysis for the selection of an appropriate tech- nique, as per Cloud consumer requirements. From the results of this evaluation, we derive the general shortcomings of the extant access control techniques that are keeping them from providing successful authorization and, therefore, widely adopted by the Cloud community. To that end, we enumer- ate the features an ideal access control mechanisms for the Cloud should have, and combine them to suggest the ultimate solution to this major security challenge - access control as a service （ACaaS） for the software as a service （SaaS） layer. We conclude that a meticulous research is needed to incorpo- rate the identified authorization features into a generic ACaaS framework that should be adequate for providing high level of extensibility and security by integrating multiple accesscontrol models.

Keyword Searches in Data-Centric XML Documents Using Tree Partitioning

This paper presents an effective keyword search method for data-centric extensive markup language （XML） documents. The method divides an XML document into compact connected integral subtrees, called self-integral trees （SI-Trees）, to capture the structural information in the XML document. The SI-Trees are generated based on a schema guide. Meaningful self-integral trees （MSI-Trees） are identified, which contain all or some of the input keywords for the keyword search in the XML documents. Indexing is used to accelerate the retrieval of MSI-Trees related to the input keywords. The MSI-Trees are ranked to identify the top-k results with the highest ranks. Extensive tests demonstrate that this method costs 10-100 ms to answer a keyword query, and outperforms existing approaches by 1-2 orders of magnitude.

A Cross-Domain Access Control Model Based on Trust Measurement

Based on trust measurement, a new cross-domain access control model is proposed to improve the security performance of the cross-domain access control processes. This model integrates the trust management and trusted platform measurement, defines several concepts （user trust degree, platform configuration integrity and intra/inter-domain trust degree） and calculates them with users＇ uniform identity authentication and historical access behavior analysis. Then this model expands the extensible access control markup language （XACML） model by adding inside trust manager point （ITMP） and outside trust manager point （OTMP）, and describes the architectures and workflows of ITMP and OTMP in details. The experimental results show that this model can achieve more fine-grained access control, implement dynamic authorization in a simple way, and improve the security degrees of the cross-domain access control.
