Nuclear power plants(NPP)contain plenty of valve piping systems(VPS’s)which are categorized into high anti-seismic grades.Tasks such as seismic qualification,health monitoring and damage diagnosis of VPS’s in its design and operation processes all depend on finite element method.However,in engineering practice,there is always deviations between the theoretical and the measured responses due to the inaccurate value of the structural parameters in the model.The structure parameters identification of VPS within NPP is still an unexplored domain to a large extent.In this paper,the initial 2D-finite element model(FEM)for VPS with a DN80 gate valve was updated by utilizing seismic response.The objective function used in the model updating procedure is the vibration control equation error of the VPS.The experimental results show that the updated 2D-FEM can accurately predict the original dynamic characteristic of the VPS.It was also found the Rayleigh damping coefficients corresponding to the VPS vary slightly with the change in seismic excitation amplitude.The research displayed the complete procedure of updating the complex structured initial FEM by utilizing seismic response,and the results show that the parameters can be accurately identified even if the seismic response used for updating merely contained the fundamental frequency information of the structure. 展开更多

The springback phenomenon of strong anisotropic sheet metals with U-channel bending as well as deep-drawing is numerically studied in detail by using Updating Lagrange FEM based on virtual work-rate principle, Kirchhoff shell element models and the Barlat-Lian planar anisotropic yield function. Simulation results are compared with a benchamark test. Very good agreement is obtained between numerical and test results. The focus of the present study is on the numerical simulation of the springback characteristics of the strong anisotropic sheet metals after unloading. The effects of the planar anisotropy coefficients and yield function exponent in the B-L yield function on the springback characteristics are discussed in detail. Some conclusions are given. 展开更多

Multi-pass slab vertical-horizontal (V-H) rolling process with variable edging roll shape have been simulated with explicit dynamic finite element method and updating geometric method. The distributions of plastic strain contour in slab daring rolling process with different edging roll and under different rolling stage have been obtained. The results show that there exist two thin strain assembling zones in slab when the flat edging roll is used, and there just exist one strain assembling zone in slab when the edging roll with groove is used. And compared the deformation equality between flat edging roll and edging roll with groove, the lateris better than the former, which supplies the theory prove to the slab deformation distribution during V-H rolling process and is helpful for predicting the slab texture. 展开更多
