A News Media Bias and Factuality Profiling Framework Assisted by Modeling Correlation

News media profiling is helpful in preventing the spread of fake news at the source and maintaining a good media and news ecosystem.Most previous works only extract features and evaluate media from one dimension independently,ignoring the interconnections between different aspects.This paper proposes a novel news media bias and factuality profiling framework assisted by correlated features.This framework models the relationship and interaction between media bias and factuality,utilizing this relationship to assist in the prediction of profiling results.Our approach extracts features independently while aligning and fusing them through recursive convolu-tion and attention mechanisms,thus harnessing multi-scale interactive information across different dimensions and levels.This method improves the effectiveness of news media evaluation.Experimental results indicate that our proposed framework significantly outperforms existing methods,achieving the best performance in Accuracy and F1 score,improving by at least 1%compared to other methods.This paper further analyzes and discusses based on the experimental results.

Application of RgMap system on digital regional geological survey

Digital geological mapping fundamentally broke through the traditional working pattern,successfully carried out the geological mapping digitalization.By using the RGMAP system to field digital geological mapping,the authors summarized the method of work and the work flow of the RGMAPGIS during the field geological survey.First,we prepared material,set up the PRB gallery,then put the geographic base map under the background maplayer and organizing the field hand map,forming the field factual datum map.At last,the geological space database is formed.

Impact of surgical volume on nationwide hospital mortality after pancreaticoduodenectomy

AIM:To evaluate the impact of surgical volume on nationwide hospital mortality after pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) for periampullary tumors in South Korea.METHODS:Periampullary cancer patients who underwent PD between 2005 and 2008 were analyzed from the database of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service of South Korea.A total of 126 hospitals were divided into 5 categories,each similar in terms of surgical volume for each category.We used hospital mortality as a quality indicator,which was defined as death during the hospital stay for PD,and calculated adjusted mortality through multivariate logistic models using several confounder variables.RESULTS:A total of eligible 4975 patients were enrolled in this study.Average annual surgical volume of hospitals was markedly varied,ranging from 215 PDs in the very-high-volume hospital to < 10 PDs in the verylow-volume hospitals.Admission route,type of medical security,and type of operation were significantly different by surgical volume.The overall hospital mortality was 2.1% and the observed hospital mortality by surgical volume showed statistical difference.Surgical volume,age,and type of operation were independent risk factors for hospital death,and adjusted hospital mortality showed a similar difference between hospitals with observed mortality.The result of the HosmerLemeshow test was 5.76(P = 0.674),indicating an acceptable appropriateness of our regression model.CONCLUSION:The higher-volume hospitals showed lower hospital mortality than the lower-volume hospitals after PD in South Korea,which were clarified through the nationwide database.

The paper investigated the prospect of selected export crops in meeting the demand of emerging commodity and futures market in Nigeria within the context of a counterfactual model, The data covered about three decades （1973-2000）. The model was estimated to capture two economic policies in the period namely stabilization （1973-1985） before introduction of Structural Adjustment Programme （SAP） and liberalization policy （1986-2005） that followed SAP The results indicated positive divergence between factual and counterfactual trends for palm kernel, cocoa, coffee and rubber but neuative for groundnut after SAP

The Significance of Administrative License in Civil Law

Administrative license is closely related to validity judgments on civil juristic acts. In terms of civil law, an administrative organ, under administrative license, allows citizens, legal persons or other organizations to engage in specific activities. Some of these activities fall under approved factual acts;some are approved civil juristic acts;and some depend on the particular situation, sometimes belonging to factual acts, sometimes to civil juristic acts. Correspondingly, some provisions for administrative license found in law or administrative regulations are mandatory provisions falling under simple norms;some are mandatory provisions falling under complex norms;and some depend on the particular situation, sometimes belonging to the former and sometimes to the latter. Where a party intends to rule out the application of such mandatory provisions by virtue of agreement on the intent of the civil juristic act, Article 153(2) of the Civil Code of the People’s Republic of China shall be cited to hold that the agreement is absolutely invalid. Where the civil juristic act of a party violates mandatory provisions falling under complex norms, Article 153(1) of the Civil Code of the People’s Republic of China shall be invoked to judge its validity.

Can Xun Zi's Proposition on “Establishing Ritual Practices in Accord with Qing” Be Validated?

Wang Guowei expressed doubts about Xun Zi＇s proposition on ＂establishing ritual practices in accord with qing,＂ arguing that it was in direct conflict with the philosopher＇s famous thesis that ＂human natural tendency is evil.＂ The word qing （情） has several connotations in the Xunzi： it may refer to factual truth （实情）, sincerity （诚实） or emotions （情感）. Readers of the Xunzi tend to view the emotional connotation of qing in a negative light, but in actuality qing as human emotions can also be understood in a commendatory or neutral sense in the Xunzi. I argue that Xun Zi＇s proposition on ＂establishing ritual practices in accord with qing＂ can only be consistent with his view that ＂human natural tendency is evil＂ when qing is used in the neutral sense. In other words, ＂establishing ritual practices in accord with qing＂ means to establish, on the basis of actual circumstances, ritual practices and rules that adequately satisfy people＇s normal feelings. Xun Zi＇s propositionon ＂establishing ritual practices in accord with qing＂ can be validated within his own philosophical framework.
