Objective To explore the effect of in-home fortification of complementary feeding on intellectual development of Chinese children aged below 24 months. Methods One thousand and four hundred seventy eight children aged 4-12 months were recruited and divided into study groups (formula 1 group and formula 2 group) and control group. In two study groups, in addition to the usual complementary food, children were fed with a sachet of fortified food supplement each day. Protein and micronutrients were provided in formula 1 group. Formula 2 group had the same energy intake as the formula 1 group . In addition to measurement of physical growth and detection of hemoglobin level, Development Quotient (DQ) or Intelligence Quotient (IQ) was assessed. Results The DQ of children aged below 24 months was 97.2, 95.5, and 93.8 in formula 1 group, formula 2 group and control group, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P〈0.05). The DQ of children in formula 1 group, formula 2 group, and control group was 92.7, 90.4, and 88.3 respectively in the first follow up showing statistically significant differences (P〈0.05). And, DQ of children in formula 1 group, formula 2 group and control group were 96.7, 94.5, and 93.7 respectively in the second follow up, showing statistically significant differences (P〈0.05). FulI-IQ of children in the formula 1 group was 3.1 and 4.5 points higher than that in formula 2 group and in control group respectively. Verbal IQ of children in the formula 1 group was 2.1 and 5 points higher than that in formula 2 group and control group respectively. Performance IQ was 2.5 and 3.1 points higher than that in formula 2 group and control group respectively. All above mentioned comparisons were statistically significant. Conclusion Fortification of complementary feeding showed persistent effect on intelligence development of young children which could persist to 6 years of age. The critical time for correction of anemia could be under 18 months. 展开更多

Background:Prenatal nutrition is crucial for embryonic development and neonatal growth,and has the potential to be a main determinant of life-long health.In the present study,we used a layer chick model to investigate the effects of in ovo feeding(IOF)of L-arginine(Arg)on growth,intestinal development,intestinal microbiota and metabolism.The treatments included the non-injected control,saline-injected control,and saline containing 2,6,or 10 mg Arg groups.Results:IOF Arg increased early intestinal index and villus height,and enhanced uptake of residual yolk lipid,contributing to subsequent improvement in the early growth performance of chicks.Prenatal Arg supplementation also increased the early microbialα-diversity,the relative abundance of Lactobacillales and Clostridiales,and decreased the relative abundance of Proteobacteria of cecum in chicks.Furthermore,the shift of cecal microbiota composition and the colonization of potential probiotics were accelerated by IOF of Arg.Simultaneously,metabolomics showed that metabolisms of galactose,taurine-conjugated bile acids and lipids were modulated to direct more energy and nutrients towards rapid growth of intestine at the beginning of post-hatch when embryos received IOF of Arg.Conclusions:Prenatal Arg supplementation showed beneficial effects on the early intestinal development,cecal microbiota and host metabolism of layer chicks,contributing to subsequent improvement in the early growth performance.These findings provide new insight into the role of IOF of Arg in the establishment of the gut microbiota of newly-hatched layer chicks,and can expand our fundamental knowledge about prenatal nutrition,early bacterial colonization and intestinal development in neonate. 展开更多

Sixteen Holstein calves were used to study the effects of two feeding programs (FP) on growth, intake, rumen development and ruminal metabolism from birth to weaning. Two feeding programs based on milk replacer (MR) were tested: a once a day (OAD) MR (200 g/L) distribution vs. a standard twice a day (TAD) MR (125 g/L) distribution. All calves received water, wheat straw and a starter concentrate ad libitum. Four calves per group were slaughtered at weaning and rumen epithelium from the ventral sac was sampled for papillae (RP) density. Results showed that the FP had no effect on body weight of calves and total feed intake. From day 42 to day 56, ruminal pH was lower (P = 0.036) and ruminal oxydo-reducing potential was higher (P = 0.001) in OAD than TAD calves. Ruminal total volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentrations did not significantly differ between FP. From day 21 to day 63, butyrate ruminal concentration was significantly higher in OAD than TAD calves (5.17 vs 3.95 mmol/L). This probably explained the higher development of RP in calves fed once daily. Finally, the tested feeding system based on a once daily MR distribution affects the concentrate feeding pattern of calves. 展开更多

Larvae of Hermetia illucens (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) (Black Soldier Fly) are voracious feeders which consume a wide range of organic materials. Thus, they can be used in simple mechanical systems to reduce organic waste and also as a nutritional factor for animal livestock, in the context of recycling the organic matter. In the present study we investigated the effect of two combinations of nutrient substrates on the immature development time of H. illucens. Poultry feed and urban bio-waste (catering organic waste) were used as nutritional substrates in two rates, 150 and 250 mg/larva. Results showed that both the food source and the quantity affected the BSF immature development time significantly. In total, significantly shorter immature development was recorded in poultry feed treatment compared with the catering waste. Moreover, immature development time in the 250 mg/larva/day treatment was significantly shorter compared with the 150 mg/larva/day treatment. Results of the present study could be useful and offer optimal solutions for BSF larvae cultivations, especially in large commercial scale units. 展开更多

The demoiselle crane is a premature bird. The average weight of a one-day nestling is about 76.0g, and the new hatched nestling can’t stant until 20 h later. The weight of the nestling can be increased from 76 to 600 within 30 days, but decreased within the first 8 days. and increased gradually after 10 days. From 30 days to 60 days, the body weight increasing speed is the greatest, and is gradually slow after 60 days. The growth of other organs is similar to the body weight. The demoiselle crane is a omnivorous bird. During the early period, the main food is small fish, other small animals and fresh grasses. The grain feed is incrased gradully with the digesting organs developed. The demoiselle crane is easy domesticated, and is able to be oestrus, mating and laying eggs. 展开更多

A truly coherent waste management and other production policy (biofuel, biopharmaceuticals, food, feed and perfumery additives) and mitigation of Climate Change are ways to bring these traces closer to cost effective manufacturing, improving of resource efficiency use, well being economy and human health. 目的探讨发展性照护下的多维度干预对喂养不耐受新生儿生长发育的影响。方法选择2020年10月-2022年10月我院收治的喂养不耐受新生儿90例作为研究对象,按随机数字表法分为对照组和观察组,各45例。对照组给予常规护理干预,观察组给予发展... 目的探讨发展性照护下的多维度干预对喂养不耐受新生儿生长发育的影响。方法选择2020年10月-2022年10月我院收治的喂养不耐受新生儿90例作为研究对象,按随机数字表法分为对照组和观察组,各45例。对照组给予常规护理干预,观察组给予发展性照护下的多维度干预,两组持续干预3个月。比较两组指标恢复时间(达到喂养耐受时间、达到肠道营养时间以及鼻胃管留置时间)、生长发育(体重、头围、身长)及护理不良事件发生率。结果观察组干预后达到喂养耐受时间、达到肠道营养时间以及鼻胃管留置时间均短于对照组(P<0.05);观察组干预后体重、头围及身长均大于对照组(P<0.05);观察组护理不良事件发生率低于对照组(P<0.05)。结论发展性照护下的多维度干预可有效缩短喂养不耐受新生儿指标达标时间,促进生长发育,降低护理不良事件的发生。 展开更多

本试验旨在研究不同相对饲养水平下西藏岗巴绵羊的生长性能、屠宰性能和器官发育的表征,以评估西藏岗巴绵羊养殖生产价值。选用体况、体型一致的36只健康的1周岁黑岗巴绵羊公羔,平均体重(17.94±0.91)kg,随机分为6组,每组6个重复,... 本试验旨在研究不同相对饲养水平下西藏岗巴绵羊的生长性能、屠宰性能和器官发育的表征,以评估西藏岗巴绵羊养殖生产价值。选用体况、体型一致的36只健康的1周岁黑岗巴绵羊公羔,平均体重(17.94±0.91)kg,随机分为6组,每组6个重复,每个重复1只羊。参照NRC(2007)中的绵羊代谢能和蛋白质维持需要量,以不同倍数设计各组饲粮的代谢能和蛋白质水平。Ⅰ组:体重20 kg、平均日增重(ADG)100 g/d需要量的0.8倍;Ⅱ组:体重20 kg、ADG 100 g/d需要量的0.9倍;Ⅲ组:体重20 kg、ADG 100 g/d需要量的1.0倍;Ⅳ组:体重20 kg、ADG 200 g/d需要量的0.8倍;Ⅴ组:体重20 kg、ADG 200 g/d需要量的0.9倍;Ⅵ组:体重20 kg、ADG 200 g/d需要量的1.0倍。预试期10 d,正试期70 d。结果显示:Ⅵ组试验羊的终末体重、净增重、平均日增重与Ⅴ组无显著差异(P>0.05),但显著高于其余5组(P<0.05);Ⅰ组料重比显著高于其余5组(P<0.05);饲料成本随相对饲养水平的升高而显著上升(P<0.05)。Ⅵ组的宰前活重、胴体重和净肉重显著高于其余5组(P<0.05);Ⅲ组和Ⅴ组的宰前活重无显著差异(P<0.05),但二者显著高于Ⅰ组、Ⅱ组和Ⅳ组(P<0.05);Ⅲ组、Ⅳ组、Ⅴ组间净肉重无显著差异(P>0.05),但显著高于Ⅰ组和Ⅱ组(P<0.05);Ⅵ组腹脂重显著高于Ⅰ组、Ⅱ组和Ⅴ组(P<0.05)。Ⅵ组肝脏重量和指数显著高于其余5组(P<0.05);6个试验组间心脏、肺脏和肾脏重量及指数无显著差异(P>0.05);Ⅵ组瘤胃重量及指数显著高于其余5组(P<0.05),网胃和瓣胃重量及指数显著高于Ⅱ组、Ⅳ组(P<0.05)。结合饲料成本以及实际养殖经济效益,推荐按照0.9倍的NRC(2007)中体重20 kg、ADG 200 g/d绵羊的代谢能和蛋白质需要量配制饲粮,西藏岗巴绵羊可获得较好的生长性能和屠宰性能。 展开更多

目的探究喂养方式对高危新生儿生长发育的影响,并分析影响新生儿高危的因素。方法回顾性选取2017年3月至2023年3月在秦皇岛市第一医院出生且采用人工喂养的60例高危新生儿作为人工喂养组,选取同期在本院出生的60例采用母乳喂养的高危新... 目的探究喂养方式对高危新生儿生长发育的影响,并分析影响新生儿高危的因素。方法回顾性选取2017年3月至2023年3月在秦皇岛市第一医院出生且采用人工喂养的60例高危新生儿作为人工喂养组,选取同期在本院出生的60例采用母乳喂养的高危新生儿作为母乳喂养组。分析两组新生儿出生时及3月龄时的身长、体重、身长别体重Z评分(WLZ)和年龄别体重指数Z评分(BAZ)情况,比较两组新生儿3月龄时的发育指数[智力发育指数(MDI)和运动发育指数(PDI)]、气质类型及免疫水平。另选50名正常新生儿作为正常组,收集其临床资料,探究影响高危新生儿发生的相关因素。结果与出生时比较,人工喂养组与母乳喂养组患儿在3月龄时身长、体重、WLZ评分、BAZ评分均升高,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05),但两组出生时和3月龄时的身长、体重、WLZ评分、BAZ评分组间比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05)。3月龄时,母乳喂养组患儿的MDI评分和PDI评分分别为(108.55±10.98)、(108.16±10.61)分,均高于人工喂养组[(99.12±8.79)、(98.01±9.21)分],差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05),但两组的气质类型比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。母乳喂养组患儿的免疫球蛋白(Ig)G、IgM、IgA和CD3^(+)、CD4^(+)、CD8^(+)水平分别为(7.11±0.67)×10^(-6)g/L、(0.77±0.11)×10^(-6)g/L、(0.46±0.08)×10^(-6)g/L、(49.06±6.15)%、(50.33±5.78)%、(36.33±5.16)%,均高于人工喂养组[(6.12±0.78)×10^(-6)g/L、(0.68±0.16)×10^(-6)g/L、(0.33±0.07)×10^(-6)g/L、(46.33±4.56)%、(47.55±6.12)%、(28.55±6.11)%],差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。单因素分析可知,高危组和正常组在有无生殖道感染、有无人工终止妊娠手术史、有无腹压增高、有无胎位异常方面差异存在统计学意义(P<0.05)。多因素Logistic回归分析结果显示存在生殖道感染、患儿出生体重低于2500 g为高危新生儿发生的影响因素(P<0.05)。结论母乳喂养对于高危新生儿的生长发育和免疫功能具有积极的影响。同时,生殖道感染和低出生体重因素与高危新生儿的发生密切相关。 展开更多

本试验旨在研究育成期(6~17周龄)能量限饲对6~24周龄蛋鸡生长发育、激素水平和卵巢类固醇激素生成关键基因表达的影响。试验选用6周龄海兰褐蛋鸡720只,随机分成3组,每组6个重复,每个重复40只。6~17周龄,3组试验鸡分别饲喂代谢能(ME)水平... 本试验旨在研究育成期(6~17周龄)能量限饲对6~24周龄蛋鸡生长发育、激素水平和卵巢类固醇激素生成关键基因表达的影响。试验选用6周龄海兰褐蛋鸡720只,随机分成3组,每组6个重复,每个重复40只。6~17周龄,3组试验鸡分别饲喂代谢能(ME)水平为12.34(对照组)、11.11(90%能量限饲组)和9.87 MJ/kg(80%能量限饲组)且其他营养水平相同的试验饲粮。18~24周龄,各组试验鸡均饲喂相同的试验饲粮。试验期18周。结果表明:1)随着6~17周龄能量限饲强度增加,17周龄体重、腹脂率、心脏指数和胫骨重以及20周龄体重、腹脂率、股骨重、胫骨重和跖骨重均呈显著线性降低(P<0.05),17周龄胰脏指数、20周龄肝脏指数以及17和20周龄股骨、胫骨和跖骨长度体重比均呈显著线性增加(P<0.05)。6~17周龄能量限饲对24周龄屠体、内脏器官和骨骼发育指标均无显著影响(P>0.05)。2)随着6~17周龄能量限饲强度增加,24周龄血清尿素氮(UN)含量呈显著线性降低(P<0.05),血清高密度脂蛋白(HDL)含量呈显著线性增加(P<0.05)。6~17周龄能量限饲对24周龄其他血清生化指标和肝脏生化指标均无显著影响(P>0.05)。3)80%能量限饲组24周龄血浆孕酮水平显著高于对照组和90%能量限饲组(P<0.05)。4)在卵巢基质部,17、20和24周龄80%和90%能量限饲组36个基因中,26个基因的mRNA相对表达量显著下调(P<0.05),7个基因的mRNA相对表达量显著上调(P<0.05),上调基因分别为17周龄80%和90%能量限饲组的环磷酸腺苷反应元件结合蛋白1(CREB1)和细胞色素P450羟化酶1B1(CYP1B1),24周龄90%能量限饲组的CREB1,以及20和24周龄80%能量限饲组的3β-羟基类固醇脱氢酶(3β-HSD)。在大白卵泡膜层,20周龄80%和90%能量限饲组12个基因的mRNA相对表达量均显著上调(P<0.05);24周龄80%和90%能量限饲组12个基因中,9个基因的mRNA相对表达量显著下调(P<0.05),1个基因的mRNA相对表达量显著上调(P<0.05),上调基因为24周龄80%能量限饲组的CREB1。在小黄卵泡膜层,24周龄80%和90%能量限饲组12个基因中,5个基因的mRNA相对表达量显著下调(P<0.05),3个基因的mRNA相对表达量显著上调(P<0.05),上调基因为80%能量限饲组的细胞色素P450羟化酶17A1(CYP17A1)、3β-HSD和CYP1B1。由此可见,6~17周龄能量限饲显著影响了17和20周龄蛋鸡体重、腹脂和骨骼发育,但对24周龄屠体、内脏器官和骨骼发育均无显著影响,且在一定程度上改善了24周龄蛋白质代谢和脂肪代谢相关的生化指标;6~17周龄80%能量限饲增加了血浆孕酮水平,上调了卵巢基质部3β-HSD、大白卵泡膜层CREB1和小黄卵泡膜层CYP17A1、3β-HSD和CYP1B1的mRNA相对表达量。 展开更多
