The five chemical bound forms of Fe, Al and Mn in sediments in the main channel of the Zhujiang River.and its estuary, namely, exchangeable, carbonic, oxidative, organic and residual (in crystal) forms, were determined. The method of sequential extraction was used for separating the five bound forms.The main chemical form of the three elements in the sediments of the Zhujiang River and its estuarine zone is the residual one. The exchangeable form exists only in a small fraction.Correlationships between the concentration of a certain form of heavy metals and Eh. pH and salinity were discussed. The principles of geochemistry are used to explain the mechanism of heavy metal transport in the river.It was also found that the distribution rule of the chemical forms of Fe, Al and Mn in sediments in the lower reaches of the Zhujiang River was similar to the one in the lower reaches of the Yamaska River. 展开更多

The polybutylaldehyde obtained by plasma polymerization was investigated by means of IR, X-ray diffraction, GC-MS, elementary analysis, TEM, electron diffraction and contact angle measurements etc. The results showed that the polymer formed in plasma is amorphous crosslinked polymer, and its backbone is made of carbon atoms. The surface energy of the polymer film is independent of the polymerization conditions. No addition reaction has taken place in the carbonyl group of butylaldehyde in the plasma condition. The result of the wettability measurements showed that the polymer film is generally hydrophobic and the surface energy of the film is about 41 dyn/cm, in which the dispersion force contribution is the majority. The electron diffraction proved that some crystal substance, even the single crystals were present in the polymer. X-ray diffraction also proved the presence of crystal and showed about 15% crystaUinity fraction. 展开更多

Mechanical alloying (MA) was employed to produce supersaturated solid solutions of Fe1-xCux,which is virtually immiscible under an equilibrium condition at ambjent temperature. The X-ray diffraction results show that ... Mechanical alloying (MA) was employed to produce supersaturated solid solutions of Fe1-xCux,which is virtually immiscible under an equilibrium condition at ambjent temperature. The X-ray diffraction results show that the solutions formed in the concentration ranges of x≤0.1 5 and x≥0.40 are of bcc structure of iron and fcc structure of copper. respectively. For the region in between.however, the alloy obtained is a mixture of bcc plus fcc phases. The Mossbauer spectrum of the solid solution of a single phase could be fitted by two sub-spectra with hyperfine magnetic fields of 200 and 250 kOe. respectively. suggesting that there must exist two forms of coordination in the solution. While to fit the spectrum for the solution with mixed structu re. three Sub-spectra. including a spectrum of α-Fe, should be used. The variation of the Mossbauer spectra of Fe60Cu40 with milling time as well as annealing temperature was systematically studied. This may be ascribed to the changes of the number of nearest neighboring atoms of iron in the processes of formation and decomposition of the solid solution during milling and annealing 展开更多

Active free radicals formed by the electrooxidation of substituted anilines RC_6H_4NH_3 (R=H, p-Br, p-Cl, p-I, p-Me, p-COOH, p-MeCO, p-NO_2, m-CO_2H, and m-Cl) are trapped by spin trap 2-methyl-2-nitroso propane (MNP)... Active free radicals formed by the electrooxidation of substituted anilines RC_6H_4NH_3 (R=H, p-Br, p-Cl, p-I, p-Me, p-COOH, p-MeCO, p-NO_2, m-CO_2H, and m-Cl) are trapped by spin trap 2-methyl-2-nitroso propane (MNP). A multiple ESR signal of the solution containing electrolytic aniline and MNP is identified with the spin adduct of MNP and radical cation 1 by theore- tical simulation of observed spectrum. Furthermore, ESR spectra of para- or meta-substituted anilines give a reasonable explanation about spin adducts of MNP and the cation 2 or 3 by the same method. 展开更多
