An ultrafast framing camera with a pulse-dilation device,a microchannel plate(MCP)imager,and an electronic imaging system were reported.The camera achieved a temporal resolution of 10 ps by using a pulse-dilation device and gated MCP imager,and a spatial resolution of 100μm by using an electronic imaging system comprising combined magnetic lenses.The spatial resolution characteristics of the camera were studied both theoretically and experimentally.The results showed that the camera with combined magnetic lenses reduced the field curvature and acquired a larger working area.A working area with a diameter of 53 mm was created by applying four magnetic lenses to the camera.Furthermore,the camera was used to detect the X-rays produced by the laser-targeting device.The diagnostic results indicated that the width of the X-ray pulse was approximately 18 ps. 展开更多

A dilation X-ray detector(DIXD)based on time dilation and microchannel plate(MCP)gated technology has been reported.The DIXD passes a driving pulse along the transmission photocathode(PC)to obtain a dilated electron signal and finally achieves a high time resolution of 12 ps.Furthermore,the waveform of the PC driving pulse can be obtained using the DIXD,and a DIXD oscillographic function can be obtained.An experiment is presented to demonstrate the DIXD oscilloscope.The waveform of the PC driving pulse from points t_(1) to t_(12) is achieved by the DIXD.The waveform agrees well with that measured by a high-speed oscilloscope with a difference of less than 6%.The maximum theoretical bandwidth of the DIXD oscilloscope is theoretically studied.The bandwidth is limited by the potential difference between the PC and mesh.When the potential difference is 3.4 kV,the theoretical limiting bandwidth is 1000 GHz.The bandwidth increases with an increase in the potential difference. 展开更多

The investigation of dust particle characteristics in fusion devices has become more and more imperative.In the HL-2A tokamak,the morphologies and compositions of dust particles are analyzed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDX) with mapping.The results indicate that the sizes of dust particles are in a range from 1 μm to 1 mm.Surprisingly,stainless steel spheres with a diameter of 2.5μm-30 μm are obtained.The production mechanisms of dust particles include flaking,disintegration,agglomeration,and arcing.In addition,dynamic characteristics of the flaking dust particles are observed by a CMOS fast framing camera and simulated by a computer program.Both of the results display that the ion friction force is dominant in the toroidal direction,while the centrifugal force is crucial in the radial direction.Therefore,the visible dust particles are accelerated toriodally by the ion friction force and migrated radially by the centrifugal force.The averaged velocity of the grain is on the order of^100 m/s.These results provide an additional supplement for one of critical plasma-wall interaction(PWI) issues in the framework of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor(ITER) programme. 展开更多

Posture recognition plays an important role in many applications,such as security system and monitoring system.Joint quaternion combined with support vector machine(SVM) can solve the problem of moving human posture recognition.It is a simple and effective algorithm that only three joints are used as the feature points in the whole human skeleton.Using the quaternion of the three joints,a feature vector with five parameters in gait cycle is extracted.The efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated through an experimental study,and walking and running postures can be distinguished accurately. 展开更多

The time-resolved electron beam envelope parameters, including cross sectional distribution and beam centroid position, are very important for the study of beam transmission characteristics in a magnetic field and for verifying the rationality of the magnetic field parameters employed. One kind of high time-resolved beam envelope measurement system has recently been developed, constituted of a high-speed framing camera and a streak camera. It can obtain three panoramic images of the beam and time continuous information along the given beam profile simultaneously. Recently obtained data has proved that several fast vibrations of the beam envelope along the diameter direction occur during the front and the tail parts of the electron beam. The vibration period is several nanoseconds. The effect of magnetic field on the electron beam is also observed and verified. Beam debugging experiments have proved that the existing beam transmission design is reasonable and viable. This beam envelope measurement system will establish a good foundation for beam physics research. 展开更多

Asynchronous drive timing sequences are applied in the image an... A very high frame rate camera is designed based on an innovative CCD driving method. The CCD driving method is mainly implemented on frame transfer CCDs. Asynchronous drive timing sequences are applied in the image and storage section of the CCDs. Several rows of the charge in the image section are binned onto the same row in the storage section, and there are the same number of images to be stored in the storage section before they are read out. Based on the new driving method, the frame transfer CCDs can work at a very high frame rate in acquiring burst images though the reading speed remains at a lower level. A very high frame rate camera is designed in this paper. The innovative CCD driving method is mainly of concern. An e2v’s CCD60 is adopted in the camera system, whose full size resolution is 128×128, and the up most frame rate is 1000 Hz in the conventional CCD driving method. By using the presented method, the CCD60 based imager is capable of operating at up to 40000 frames per second (fps) at a recognizable resolution of 128×32. Comparing cameras using traditional binning and region of interest technologies, the frame rate is normally less than 5000 fps while the resolution is only 32×32 left. 展开更多

Cable-type welding wire(CWW)CO2 welding is an innovative process arc welding with high quality,high efficiency and energy saving,in which CWW is used as consumable electrode.The CWW is composed of seven wires with a diameter of 1.2mm.One is in the center,while others uniformly distribute around it.The diameter of twisted wire is up to 3.6mm,which can increase the deposition rate significantly.With continual wire-feeding and melting of CWW,the formed rotating arc improved welding quality obviously.The arc behavior and droplet transfer were observed by the electrical signal waveforms and corresponding synchronous images,based on the high speed digital camera and electrical signal system.The results showed that the shape of welding arc changed from bell arc to beam arc with the increase of welding parameter.The droplet transfer mode changed from repelled transfer,globular transfer to projected transfer in turn.Droplet transfer frequency increased from 18.17 Hz to 119.05 Hz,while the droplet diameter decreased from 1.5times to 0.3times of the CWW diameter. 展开更多
