High-frequency image technique has been widely applied in medical diagnosis recently. For high voltage protection, high speed stage and trigger control circuitry are difficult to implement a high-frequency ultrasound imaging system. In this study, we utilized a linear servo with high noise tolerance and a novel multi-depth expression method to overcome those issues in developed high-speed image system. B-mode image of the chicken phantom by 25 MHz transducer shows the resolution of lateral and axial resolutions are up to 123 μm and 59 μm respectively. In addition, the experiment demonstrates that the axial resolution and depth of field (DOF) can be improved by time gain compensation(TGC) and multi-depth method. The results indicate that the proposed system could achieve over 24 fps for 1 mm scan distance and 100 lines per frame. In the future, the developed system is potential for other clinical applications such as ophthalmology and dermatology. 展开更多

We propose a simple algorithm for the precise engineering of multi-channel gain profile of Raman amplifier. By employing a linear approximation in the pump interaction calculation, together with a semi-empirical pump power correction using the simplistic output signal spectrum measurement, excellent gain engineering capability has been demonstrated for various target gain profiles, within +/- 0.4dB of error. 展开更多

A novel compensation method for temperature-dependent gain tilt of L-band erbium-doped fiber amplifier (L-EDFA) is proposed, in which the attenuation between stages is the only parameter to be adjusted. A simple linear relationship between the attenuation and the erbium fiber coil temperature was derived theoretically. When the erbium fiber coil temperature cycles from 26 to 70C, the gain tilt variation less than 0.3 dB is achieved experimentally by adjusting only the pre-inserted variable optical attenuator (VOA). 展开更多

This paper presents a controllable resistor, which is formed by a MOS-resistor working in the deep triangle region and an auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit can generate the gate-source voltage which is proportional to the output current of an low dropout regulator for the MOS-resistor. Thus, the equivalent output resistance of the MOS-resistor is inversely proportional to the output current, which is a suitable feature for pole-zero tracking frequency compensation methods. By switching the type of the MOS-resistor and current direction through the auxiliary circuit, the controllable resistor can be suitable for different applications. Three pole-zero tracking frequency compensation methods based on a single Miller capacitor with hulling resistor, unit-gain compensation cell and pseudo-ESR (equivalent serial resistor of load capacitor) power stage have been realized by this controllable resistor. Their advantages and limitations are discussed and verified by simulation results. 展开更多

An LC-VCO with an enhanced quality factor(Q) varactor for use in a high-sensitivity GNSS receiver is presented. An enhanced A-MOS varactor is composed of two accumulation-mode MOS(A-MOS) varactors and two bias voltages, which show the improved Q and linearization capacitance-voltage(C-V) curve. The VCO gain(K_(vco)) is compensated by a digital switched varactors array(DSVA) over entire sub-bands.Based on the characteristics of an A-MOS,the varactor in a DSVA is a high Q fixed capacitor as it is switched off,and a moderate Q tuning varactor when it is switched on,which keeps the maximal Q for the LC-tank.The proposed circuit is fabricated in a 0.18μm 1P6M CMOS process. The measured phase noise is better than -122 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset while the measured tuning range is 58.2%and the variation of K_(VCO) is close to±21%over the whole of the sub-bands and the effective range of the control voltage. The proposed VCO dissipates less than 5.4 mW over the whole operating range from a 1.8 V supply. 展开更多
