Field test data has been used to compare model results for each case. The numerical modelling has been, carried out using the suitable code LS-DYNA. This code integrates blast load routine(CONWEP) for the explosive description and four different material models for the concrete including: Karagozian & Case Concrete, Winfrith, Continuous Surface Cap Model and Riedel-Hiermaier-Thoma models, with concrete meshing based on 10, 15, and 20 mm. Six full-scale beams were tested: four of them used for the initial calibration of the numerical model and two more tests at lower scaled distances. For calibration, field data obtained employing pressure and accelerometers transducers were compared with the results derived from the numerical simulation. Damage surfaces and the shape of rupture in the beams have been used as references for comparison. Influence of the meshing on accelerations has been put in evidence and for some models the shape and size of the damage in the beams produced maximum differences around 15%. In all cases, the variations between material and mesh models are shown and discussed.展开更多

It has great significance to improve various optical systems for wide application in trapping cold atoms, creating gratings, and atmospheric optical communication. We calculate analytical formulas for the spectral density (SD) and the propagation factors Mx2 and My2 of a GSMA beam. The influence of inner scale of turbulence in the jet engine exhaust region on its power spectrum has been also analyzed. According to these results, the influence of turbulence in a jet engine exhaust on a GSMA beam has been reduced by changing the parameters of light source and turbulence. For example, it is an excellent tool for mitigation of the jet engine exhaust-induced anisotropy of turbulence to increase the source coherence length, the root-mean-squared (rms) beam width, the wavelength or reduce the outer scale of turbulence.展开更多

Based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and a quadratic approximation, an analytical formula of average intensity for Gaussian-Schell-model beams in turbulent atmosphere along a slant path is derived, and some special cases are discussed. From the study and the comparison with the direct propagation, we can see that the relay propagation has an advantage over the direct propagation. When the altitude of the target is low, the peak intensity of relay propagation is much larger than that of direct propagation. However, because of the limitation of the relay system aperture for relay propagation and the variation of coherence length for direct propagation, the difference in peak intensity between the two propagations decreases with the increase of the target altitude.展开更多

The system of motion equations is derived using Hamilton's principle under the assumptions of the classical Timoshenko beam theory. The effects of the transverse shear deformation and rotary inertia are also considered within the framework of the mentioned theory. The separation of variables approach is employed to discretize the governing equa- tions which are then solved by an analytical method to obtain the natural frequencies of the alumina nanobeams. The results show that the surface effects lead to an increase in the natural frequency of nanobeams as compared with the classical Timoshenko beam model. In addition, for nanobeams with large diameters, the surface effects may increase the natural frequencies by increasing the thermal effects. The results of the present model are compared with the literature, showing that the present model can capture correctly the surface effects in thermal vibration of nanobeams.展开更多

A linear coordination trans- formation is introduced to overcome the window effect and the loss-of-resolution problem. The beam spreading, beam wandering, and intensity scintillation as functions of turbulence strength, source correlation length, and change fre- quency of random phase that models the partial coherence of the source are analyzed. It is found that the beam spreading and the intensity scintillation of the partially coherent beam are less affected by the turbulence than those of the coherent one, but it suffers from a more severe diffractive effect, and the change frequency of random phase has no evident influence on it. The beam wandering is insensitive to the variation of source correlation length, and decreases firstly then goes to a fixed value as the change frequency increases.展开更多

文摘Double-clamped bistable buckled beams demonstrate great versatility in various fields such as robotics, energy harvesting, and microelectromechanical system(MEMS).However, their design often requires time-consuming and expensive computations. In this work,we present a method to easily and rapidly design bistable buckled beams subjected to a transverse point force.Based on the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory,we establish a theoretical model of bistable buckled beams to characterize their snapthrough properties. This model is verified against the results from a finite element analysis(FEA)model, with maximum discrepancy less than 7%.By analyzing and simplifying our theoretical model,we derive explicit analytical expressions for critical behavioral values on the force-displacement curve of the beam. These behavioral values include critical force, critical displacement, and travel, which are generally sufficient for characterizing the snapthrough properties of a bistable buckled beam.Based on these analytical formulas,we investigate the influence of a bistable buckled beam's key design parameters, including its actuation position and precompression,on its critical behavioral values, with our results validated by FEA simulations. Our analytical method enables fast and computationally inexpensive design of bistable buckled beams and can guide the design of complicated systems that incorporate bistable mechanisms.

文摘With consideration of the differences between concrete and steel, three solutions using genetic evolutionary structural optimization algorithm were presented to automatically develop optimal strut-and-tie model for deep beams. In the finite element analysis of the first method, the concrete and steel rebar are modeled by a plane element and a bar element, respectively. In the second method, the concrete and steel are assigned to two different plane elements, whereas in the third method only one kind of plane element is used with no consideration of the differences of the two materials.A simply supported beam under two point loads was presented as an example to verify the validity of the three proposed methods. The results indicates that all the three methods can generate optimal strut-and-tie models and the third algorithm has powerful capability in searching more optimal results with less computational effort. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm III has also been demonstrated by other two examples.

文摘We calibrate the macroscopic vortex high-order harmonic generation(HHG)obtained by the quantitative rescattering(QRS)model to compute single-atom induced dipoles against that by solving the time-dependent Schr?dinger equation(TDSE).We show that the QRS perfectly agrees with the TDSE under the favorable phase-matching condition, and the QRS can accurately predict the main features in the spatial profiles of vortex HHG if the phase-matching condition is not good.We uncover that harmonic emissions from short and long trajectories are adjusted by the phase-matching condition through the time-frequency analysis and the QRS can simulate the vortex HHG accurately only when the interference between two trajectories is absent. This work confirms that it is an efficient way to employ the QRS model in the single-atom response for precisely simulating the macroscopic vortex HHG.

文摘Based on the dinuclear system model, the synthesis of the predicted double-magic nuclei^(298)Fl and 304120 was investigated via neutron-rich radioactive beam-induced fusion reactions. The reaction^(58)Ca+^(244)Pu is predicted to be favorable for producing^(298)Fl with a maximal ER cross section of 0.301 pb.Investigations of the entrance channel effect reveal that the^(244)Pu target is more promising for synthesizing^(298)Fl than the neutron-rich targets^(248)Cm and^(249)Bk,because of the influence of the Coulomb barrier. For the synthesis of 304120,the maximal ER cross section of 0.046 fb emerges in the reaction^(58)V+^(249)Bk,indicating the need for further advancements in both experimental facilities and reaction mechanisms.

文摘Due to the conflict between equilibrium and constitutive requirements,Eringen’s strain-driven nonlocal integral model is not applicable to nanostructures of engineering interest. As an alternative, the stress-driven model has been recently developed. In this paper, for higher-order shear deformation beams, the ill-posed issue(i.e.,excessive mandatory boundary conditions(BCs)cannot be met simultaneously)exists not only in strain-driven nonlocal models but also in stress-driven ones. The well-posedness of both the strain-and stress-driven two-phase nonlocal(TPN-Strain D and TPN-Stress D)models is pertinently evidenced by formulating the static bending of curved beams made of functionally graded(FG)materials. The two-phase nonlocal integral constitutive relation is equivalent to a differential law equipped with two restriction conditions.By using the generalized differential quadrature method(GDQM),the coupling governing equations are solved numerically. The results show that the two-phase models can predict consistent scale-effects under different supported and loading conditions.
文摘The dynamic responses and generated voltage in a curved sandwich beam with glass reinforced laminate(GRL)layers and a pliable core in the presence of a piezoelectric layer under low-velocity impact(LVI)are investigated. The current study aims to carry out a dynamic analysis on the sandwich beam when the impactor hits the top face sheet with an initial velocity. For the layer analysis, the high-order shear deformation theory(HSDT)and Frostig's second model for the displacement fields of the core layer are used. The classical non-adhesive elastic contact theory and Hunter's principle are used to calculate the dynamic responses in terms of time.In order to validate the analytical method, the outcomes of the current investigation are compared with those gained by the experimental tests carried out by other researchers for a rectangular composite plate subject to the LVI.Finite element(FE)simulations are conducted by means of the ABAQUS software. The effects of the parameters such as foam modulus, layer material, fiber angle, impactor mass, and its velocity on the generated voltage are reviewed.

文摘To solve the difficulty of generating an ideal Bessel beam,an simplified annular transducer model is proposed to study the axial acoustic radiation force(ARF)and the corresponding negative ARF(pulling force)exerted on centered elastic spheres for acoustic-vortex(AV)beams of arbitrary orders.Based on the theory of acoustic scattering, the axial distributions of the velocity potential and the ARF for AV beams of different orders generated by the annular transducers with different physical sizes are simulated. It is proved that the pulling force can be generated by AV beams of arbitrary orders with multiple axial regions. The pulling force is more likely to exert on the sphere with a smaller k0a(product of the wave number and the radius)for the AV beam with a bigger topological charge due to the strengthened off-axis acoustic scattering. The pulling force decreases with the increase of the axial distance for the sphere with a bigger k0a.More pulling force areas with wider axial regions can be formed by AV beams using a bigger-sized annular transducer. The theoretical results demonstrate the feasibility of generating the pulling force along the axes of AV beams using the experimentally applicable circular array of planar transducers, and suggest application potentials for multi-position stable object manipulations in biomedical engineering.

文摘Propagation properties of spatially pseudo-partially coherent Gaussian Schell-model beams through the atmo- spheric turbulence over a long-distance uplink path are studied by numerical simulation. The beam wandering is insensitive to the variation of source correlation length, and decreases firstly then goes to a fixed value as the change frequency increases.

文摘This paper studies the focusing properties of Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams by an astigmatic aperture lens. It is shown that the axial irradiance distribution, the maximum axial irradiance and its position of focused GSM beams by an astigmatic aperture lens depend upon the astigmatism of the lens, the coherence of partially coherent light, the truncation parameter of the aperture and Fresnel number. The numerical calculation results are given to illustrate how these parameters affect the focusing property.
