The holotype specimen consists of the left ilium, left pubis, anterior caudals, most of the dorsal ribs and distal end of the left femur. Fusuisaurus zhaoi is diagnosed by a unique combination of character states among the known sauropods. Its forming age and petrogenesis are critical for better understanding the orogenic process and relationship of the Yangtze and Cathaysian blocks since the Neoproterozoic. However, few zircon U-Pb ages of samples from the Yingyangguan Group have been reported, which are much debated, such as the metamorphic spilite (819±11 Ma), keratophyre (415.1±2.1 Ma) and ignimbrite (821.3±3.9 Ma) (Tian Yang et al., 2015 and references in). In this study, we focus on the new discovered Early Yanshannian monzogranite and its mafic enclaves from the Yingyangguan Group, and conducted zircon U-Pb dating and in-situ Hf isotopic analyses to constrain their petrogenesis.展开更多

Based on currently available ages by the correlation of conodont ammonites and bivalve faunas, these sequences range approximately from 1.0 Ma to 5.6 Ma, with the average of 3 Ma. They occur largely in the Griesbachian-Dienerian, Smithian, uppermost Smithian-lowermost Anisian, Lower Anisian, Middle Anisian, Upper Anisian-Upper Ladinian and the uppermost Ladinian-Lower Carnian respectively, and can be grouped into three second-order transgressive-regressive supersequences. A relative sea level curve is established from the sequence stratigraghic analysis. Transgressive-regressive sequences, bounded by transgressive surfaces and the correlatable unconformities, are real unconformity-bounded units of lower rank. Each sequence comprises transgressive, highstand and regressive systems tracts, and can be easily correlated with the depositional sequence.展开更多

[ Method] Species and occurrence degrees of major fugal diseases in sugarcane cultivation areas of Guangxi were investigated through randomized surveys, farmer interviews, literature references and location investigations from 2009 to 2011. Diseased sugarcane samples were collected and their species were identified through pathogen isolated culture and other relevant methods. [ Result] Thirteen spe- cies of fungal diseases were identified in the survey, including pineapple disease [ Thielaviopsis paradoxa ( de Seynes ) V. Hohnel ], smut ( Ustilago scitaminea Sydow), top rot disease (Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon), rust (Puccinia melanocephala H. & P. Syd. ), leaf scald disease (Stagonospora sacchari Lo et Ling), red rot disease (Colletotrichumfalcatum Went), zonate spot disease (Phyllosticta saccharicola P. Henn. ), leaf red spot disease [ Pellicularia sasakii (Shirai) Ito], white rash disease (Elsinoe sacchari L. ), eye spot [Helminthosporium sacchari (Breda de Haan) Butler], yellow spot [Mycovellosiella koepkei (kruger) Deighton], brown stripe [Bipolaris stenospilum (Drechs.) Shoem. ] and brown spot (Cercospora longipes Butler). Smut, rust, top rot, and pineapple disease were the most rampantly detrimental to quality and yield of sugarcane. [ Conclusion] Smut is the most serious sugarcane disease; it is urgent to breed sugarcane varieties with high resistance and excellent agronomic characters to replace current sugarcane varieties susceptible to diseases.展开更多

The Indosinian foreland fold-and-thrust belt bordering Yunnan and Guangxi provided further evidence for the palaeotethysides. The oceanic crust was subducted southwestwards while the magmatic arc migrated northeastwards, and the continent-arc collision occurred in the Late Triassic with the thrusting being extended towards the north or northeast. The features of thrust-nappe structure are discussed, which proved the continental margin of the Palaeotethyan ocean there to be a complicated one. A face-to-face collision occurred first along the NW-striking segment and then along the ENE-striking segment accompanied by transpression or oblique thrusting occurring along the NW-striking one.展开更多

On the basis of geochemical compositions, the Permian mafic igneous rocks can be divided into three distinct groups: (1) mafic igneous rocks (Group 1) from the Longjing region in the PNSZ and Hurun region in the BLSZ, which are characterized by intermediate Ti, P and Zr with low Ni and Cr contents; (2) mafic igneous rocks (Group 2) from the Naxiao and Chongzuo region in the DB, characterized by low-intermediate Ti, P and Zr with high Ni and Cr concentrations; and (3) mafic igneous rocks (Group 3) from the Siming region in the Jingxi carbonate platform of the northwestern margin of the NQTB, with intermediate-high Ti, P and Zr and low Ni and Cr contents. The Group 1 rocks yield a weighted mean 206 Pb/ 238 U age of 250.5±2.8 Ma and are geochemically similar to basalts occurring in back-arc basin settings. The Group 2 rocks exhibit geochemical features to those basalts in island arcs, whereas the Group 3 rocks show geochemical similarity to that of ocean island basalts. All three groups are characterized by relatively low ε Nd (t) values (-2.61 to +1.10) and high initial 87 Sr/ 86 Sr isotopic ratios (0.705309-0.707434), indicating that they were derived from a subduction-modified lithospheric mantle and experienced assimilation, fractional crystallization, and crustal contamination or mixing during magmatic evolution. Accordingly, we propose the existence of an arc-back arc basin system that developed along the NQTB at the border of SW Guangxi Province (SW China) and northern Vietnam, and it was formed by continued northwestward subduction of the Cathaysian (or Yunkai) Block under the Yangtze Block, and northeastward subduction of the Indochina Block beneath the Yangtze Block during Permian time.展开更多

In this study, we focus on the new discovered Early Yanshannian monzogranite and its mafic enclaves from the Yingyangguan Group, and conducted zircon U-Pb dating and in-situ Hf isotopic analyses to constrain their petrogenesis.

文摘Objective The Devonian bivalves are well developed, highly diversified and widely distributed in Guangxi. However, they have not been well studied previously, although several papers have dealt with it. Meanwhile, the biodiversity change of bivalves which is one of the most important benthos during Devonian in South China has not been studied yet. The aim of present project is focused on the study of systematic palaeontology, the life-habits, of Devonian bivalves of Guangxi.

文摘Seven third-order transgressive-regressive sequences are recognized in the Early Triassic -Early Carnian stratigraghc succession of Guizhou-Guangxi region, South China. Each sequence comprises transgressive, highstand and regressive systems tracts, and can be easily correlated with the depositional sequence.

文摘A nearly complete right maxillary or left dentary tooth(NHMG 10858) from the Lower Cretaceous Xinlong Formation of the Napai Basin, Fusui County, Guangxi, southern China, is described. The tooth is large in size, with a CBL of 37 mm. Given the geological age and its crown morphology, including the size, it is most likely that the tooth belongs to a carcharodontosaurid. The recovered specimen represents one of the largest theropod teeth hitherto reported from the Early Cretaceous of Asia.

文摘The present paper reports two new species of Buxus from the Oligocene Ningming Formation of Guangxi, South China, on the basis of several compressed fossil leaves.Buxus ningmingensis sp.nov.is characterized by an elliptic to ovate shape; pinnate venation with marginal secondary, long hairs on the adaxial side of the midvein base; and amphistomatic, anomocytic stomata with a prominent outer ring. All of these characteristics suggest a closest affinity to the living Buxus microphylla subsp.sinica.Another new species identified as Buxus preaustro-yunnanensis sp.nov.is characterized by the diagnostic formation of its admedially branched tertiaries, the trunks of which are often strongly thickened by sclereides. This species is most similar to the extant Buxus austroyunnanensis. The co-occurrence of Buxus ningmingensis sp.nov.and Buxus preaustro-yunnanensis sp.nov.suggests that these two Buxus lived during the Oligocene under a warm, tropical to subtropical climate, similar to the current climate of Ningming. Our findings provide the earliest fossil evidence of Buxus leaves with detailed illustrations of leaf architectural and cuticular features. The occurrence of these two species indicates that Buxus began to diversify in Guangxi no later than the Oligocene.

文摘[ Objective ] The purpose was to understand species and occurrence status of major fugal diseases in sugarcane cultivation areas of Guangxi in China, so as to provide scientific references for integrated control against sugarcane diseases. [ Method] Species and occurrence degrees of major fugal diseases in sugarcane cultivation areas of Guangxi were investigated through randomized surveys, farmer interviews, literature references and location investigations from 2009 to 2011. Diseased sugarcane samples were collected and their species were identified through pathogen isolated culture and other relevant methods. [ Result] Thirteen spe- cies of fungal diseases were identified in the survey, including pineapple disease [ Thielaviopsis paradoxa ( de Seynes ) V. Hohnel ], smut ( Ustilago scitaminea Sydow), top rot disease (Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon), rust (Puccinia melanocephala H. & P. Syd. ), leaf scald disease (Stagonospora sacchari Lo et Ling), red rot disease (Colletotrichumfalcatum Went), zonate spot disease (Phyllosticta saccharicola P. Henn. ), leaf red spot disease [ Pellicularia sasakii (Shirai) Ito], white rash disease (Elsinoe sacchari L. ), eye spot [Helminthosporium sacchari (Breda de Haan) Butler], yellow spot [Mycovellosiella koepkei (kruger) Deighton], brown stripe [Bipolaris stenospilum (Drechs.) Shoem. ] and brown spot (Cercospora longipes Butler). Smut, rust, top rot, and pineapple disease were the most rampantly detrimental to quality and yield of sugarcane. [ Conclusion] Smut is the most serious sugarcane disease; it is urgent to breed sugarcane varieties with high resistance and excellent agronomic characters to replace current sugarcane varieties susceptible to diseases.
文摘Recent discoveries of ophiolites indicate that there must be a Palaeotethyan geosuture zone bordering China and Vietnam, which separates the Vietbac block from the South China subcontinent. A face-to-face collision occurred first along the NW-striking segment and then along the ENE-striking segment accompanied by transpression or oblique thrusting occurring along the NW-striking one.

文摘The Napo-Qinzhou Tectonic Belt (NQTB) lies at the junction of the Yangtze, Cathaysia and Indochina (North Vietnam) Blocks, which is composed of five major lithotectonic subunits: the Qinzhou-Fangcheng Suture Zone (QFSZ), the Shiwandashan Basin (SB), the Pingxiang-Nanning Suture Zone (PNSZ), the Damingshan Block (DB) and the Babu-Lingma Suture Zone (BLSZ). Accordingly, we propose the existence of an arc-back arc basin system that developed along the NQTB at the border of SW Guangxi Province (SW China) and northern Vietnam, and it was formed by continued northwestward subduction of the Cathaysian (or Yunkai) Block under the Yangtze Block, and northeastward subduction of the Indochina Block beneath the Yangtze Block during Permian time.
