Destress blasting(DB)implemented along the perimeter of safety pillars is a special application of destressing in coal longwall mining.The goal is to separate relatively more deformed mined areas from safety pillars,s...Destress blasting(DB)implemented along the perimeter of safety pillars is a special application of destressing in coal longwall mining.The goal is to separate relatively more deformed mined areas from safety pillars,such as shaft pillars or cross-cut pillars,to reduce the transfer of high stresses to the protective pillar.This case study aims to numerically simulate selected destress blasts in the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin and examine its impact on stress transfer to the safety pillar area.To separate the area between the protective pillar and the longwall(LW),two fans of five 93-mm blast holes(length of 93e100 m)were drilled from the gate roads into the overburden strata.Each set of blast holes was fired separately in two stages without time delay.The explosive charge(gelatin-type of explosive)of each stage is 3450 kg.The two DB stages were fired when the longwall face was approximately 158 m and 152 m away from the blast.A 3D mine-wide model is built and validated with in situ stress measured with hydrofracturing.Mining and destressing in three 5-m thick coal seams are simulated in the region.Numerical modeling of DB is successfully conducted using a rock fragmentation factor a of 0.05 and a stress reduction/dissipation factor β of 0.95.Buffering of transfer of additional stress from the mining area into the safety pillar is evaluated by comparison of yielding volume before and after DB.It is shown that yielding volume drops after DB by nearly 80%in the area of the destressing panel and near the safety shaft pillar.展开更多

The proposed approach does not require training information of the sources and therefore, it is highly suited for practicality of SCSS. The major problem of most existing SCSS algorithms lies in their inability to resolve the mixing ambiguity in the single channel observation. Our proposed approach tackles this difficult problem by using filterbank which decomposes the mixed signal into sub-band domain. This will result the mixture in sub-band domain to be more separable. By incorporating SNMF2D algorithm, the spectral-temporal structure of the sources can be obtained more accurately. Real time test has been conducted and it is shown that the proposed method gives high quality source separation performance.展开更多

Based on the trajectory error ellipsoid model of single wellbore, the error ellipsoids model of adjacent wellbore was derived considering the correlation of trajectory errors between adjacent wells. Furthermore, the calculation formula of the separation factor based on relative position of adjacent wellbore was derived and solved with the conjugate gradient algorithm. Case study shows that the new approach is more precise and higher in applicability than the ellipsoid scaling method and the minimum distance method, it can evaluate the state of well collision more reasonably. By doing batch calculation with the new method and following the criterion of well collision avoidance, the permissible ranges of key parameters in the well design can be worked out quickly. This method has good application in the design of cluster wells and directional wells.展开更多

Nonnegative matrix factorization(NMF)has shown good performances on blind audio source separation(BASS).While the NMF analysis is a non-convex optimization problem when both the basis and encoding matrices need to be ...Nonnegative matrix factorization(NMF)has shown good performances on blind audio source separation(BASS).While the NMF analysis is a non-convex optimization problem when both the basis and encoding matrices need to be estimated simultaneously,the source separation step of the NMF-based BASS with a fixed basis matrix has been considered convex.However,because the basis matrix for the BASS is typically constructed by concatenating the basis matrices trained with individual source signals,the subspace spanned by the basis vectors for one source may overlap with that for other sources.In this paper,we have shown that the resulting encoding vector is not unique when the subspaces spanned by basis vectors for the sources overlap,which implies that the initialization of the encoding vector in the source separation stage is not trivial.Furthermore,we propose a novel method to initialize the encoding vector for the separation step based on the prior model of the encoding vector.Experimental results showed that the proposed method outperformed the uniform random initialization by 1.09 and 2.21dB in the source-to-distortion ratio,and 0.20 and 0.23 in PESQ scores for supervised and semi-supervised cases,respectively.展开更多

In this work, supercritical fluid chromatography(SFC) was proposed to resolve the chiral mixtures. To determine the optimum operating conditions for the chiral separation of the racemic ibuprofen, the retention factors and resolutions with the change in pressure, temperature and the content of IPA (%, by volume) in supercritical CO2 were investigated. Experiments showed that the retention factor decreased with the increase of pressure and decrease in temperature. The retention factor was also influenced by the content of IPA in mobile phase, as the content of IPA in the supercritical fluid increased, the retention factor decreased. The resolution of the enantiomers became worse with the increase of IPA in the supercritical fluid. Through optimizing the experimental conditions, a SFC procedure with 13MPa, 311.15K and 4% IPA in CO2 was obtained. The peak shape of the enantiomers was symmetric with supercritical fluid chromatography when compared to the asymmetric peak shape obtained by the conventional liquid chromatography. This work demonstrated that the developed supercritical fluid chromatography procedure was suitable for the chiral separation of ibuprofen enantiomers.展开更多
The discrimination of neutrons from gamma rays in a mixed radiation field is crucial in neutron detection tasks.Several approaches have been proposed to enhance the performance and accuracy of neutron-gamma discrimina...The discrimination of neutrons from gamma rays in a mixed radiation field is crucial in neutron detection tasks.Several approaches have been proposed to enhance the performance and accuracy of neutron-gamma discrimination.However,their performances are often associated with certain factors,such as experimental requirements and resulting mixed signals.The main purpose of this study is to achieve fast and accurate neutron-gamma discrimination without a priori information on the signal to be analyzed,as well as the experimental setup.Here,a novel method is proposed based on two concepts.The first method exploits the power of nonnegative tensor factorization(NTF)as a blind source separation method to extract the original components from the mixture signals recorded at the output of the stilbene scintillator detector.The second one is based on the principles of support vector machine(SVM)to identify and discriminate these components.In addition to these two main methods,we adopted the Mexican-hat function as a continuous wavelet transform to characterize the components extracted using the NTF model.The resulting scalograms are processed as colored images,which are segmented into two distinct classes using the Otsu thresholding method to extract the features of interest of the neutrons and gamma-ray components from the background noise.We subsequently used principal component analysis to select the most significant of these features wich are used in the training and testing datasets for SVM.Bias-variance analysis is used to optimize the SVM model by finding the optimal level of model complexity with the highest possible generalization performance.In this framework,the obtained results have verified a suitable bias–variance trade-off value.We achieved an operational SVM prediction model for neutron-gamma classification with a high true-positive rate.The accuracy and performance of the SVM based on the NTF was evaluated and validated by comparing it to the charge comparison method via figure of merit.The results indicate that the proposed approach has a superior discrimination quality(figure of merit of 2.20).展开更多

The present investigation was performed within the framework of the 2-D slender body method (SBM) by calculating the resistance of three symmetric trimaran series moving in a calm free surface of deep water. Each trimaran series comprises of 4681 configurations generated by considering 151 staggers (-50%≤a≤+ 100%), and 31 separations (100%≤β≤400%) for 81 Froude numbers (0.20≤Fn≤ 1.0). In developing the three trimaran series, Wigley-st. AMECRC-09, and NPL-4a models were used separately for both the main and side hulls of each individu;d series models. A computer macro named Tri-PL was created using the Visual Basic for Applications~. Tri-PL~ sequentially interfaced Maxsurfe then Hullspeed to generate the models of the three trimaran series together with their detailed hydrostatic particulars, followed by their resistance components. The numerical results were partially validated against the available published numerical calculations and experimental results, to benchmark the Tri-PL macro and hence to rely on the analysis outcomes. Many technologies have emerged related with pervasive computing vision, which can give support for AAL. One of the most reliable approaches is based on wireless sensor networks(WSNs). In this paper, we propose a coverage-aware unequal clustering protocol with load separation(CUCPLS) for data gathering of AAL applications based on WSNs. Firstly, the coverage overlap factor for nodes is introduced that accounts for the degree of target nodes covered. In addition, to balance the intra-cluster and inter-cluster energy consumptions, different competition radiuses of CHs are computed theoretically in different rings, and smaller clusters are formed near the sink. Moreover, two CHs are selected in each cluster for load separation to alleviate the substantial energy consumption difference between a single CH and its member nodes. Furthermore, a backoff waiting time is adopted during the selection of the two CHs to reduce the number of control messages employed. Simulation results demonstrate that the CUCPLS not only can achieve better coverage performance, but also balance the energy consumption of a network and prolong network lifetime.展开更多

In order to solve this problem, identifying those factors that influence residents’ behavior of source separation becomes crucial. By means of questionnaire survey, we conducted descriptive analysis and ex- ploratory factor analysis. The results show that trouble-feeling, moral notion, environment protection, public education, environment value and knowledge deficiency are the main factors that play an important role for residents in deciding to separate their household wastes. Also, according to the contribution percentage of the six main factors to the total behavior of source separation, their influencing power is analyzed, which will provide suggestions on household waste management for policy makers and decision makers in China.展开更多

<strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the lactation volume and milk secretion of mother’s milk in puerperal women separated from mother and infant, and to study the related influencing factors. <s...<strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the lactation volume and milk secretion of mother’s milk in puerperal women separated from mother and infant, and to study the related influencing factors. <strong>Methods:</strong> Selected February 2015-February 2020 in Foshan women and children’s hospital 420 cases of maternal as the research object, using lactation related factors comprehensive questionnaire of maternal and infant separation of puerperal women for continuous determination of amount of lactation, and 1 - 7 days and 8 to 14 days postpartum lactation quantity and Pearson correlation analysis, using multiple linear regression analysis to affect maternal separation of puerperal women in lactation of breast volume related factors were analyzed. <strong>Results:</strong> The lactation volume of the puerperal women was on the rise within 14 days after delivery. 14 days mammary volume ware 545.13 - 243.18 ml, postpartum lactation II period start time was (67.48 + 26.57) h. The correlation coefficient between lactation volume on day 4 and lactation volume on day 14 was 0.04 (P < 0.05). Pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, lactation II period start time, birth gestational age, maternal age is affecting maternal separation of the main factors of puerperal women lactation milk. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Early maternal separation of puerperal women breast milk lactation quantity is little, lactation II later period start time, delay rate is high: in clinical nursing work, should pay attention to produce age is bigger, smaller gestational age and birth with pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, maternal lactation stage II startup delay, should be timely intervention of maternal and infant separation maternal management effectively, promote successful lactation and increase the amount of lactation, for clinical guidance and provides some references for the separation of puerperal women breastfeeding.展开更多

On the other hand, it is a process the thermodynamic efficiency of which is very low, and therefore reducing the consumption of energy is one of the targets of research studies on distillation. This article arose from seeking to reduce energy consumption in a distillation train of 1,2-dichloroethane (ethylene dichloride-EDC) of a commercial plant producing vinyl monochloride (VMC), which involves an azeotropic distillation column. The reduction in the reboiler heat duty caused significant changes in concentration and temperature profiles throughout the column due to the formation of two liquid phases. The results show that, although very small in percentage terms (less than 2.5%), the appearance of the 2nd liquid phase causes significant changes in the operation of the column and the separation achieved.展开更多

In this letter, a novel Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) algorithm with least correlated component constraints to blind separation of convolutive mixed sources is proposed. The algorithm relaxes the source independence assumption and has low-complexity algebraic com- putations. Simulation results on blind source separation including real face image data indicate that the sources can be successfully recovered with the algorithm.展开更多

文摘As the current calculation methods for wellbore separation factor have some deficiencies, we propose and analyze a new calculation approach for wellbore separation factor based on the relative position of adjacent wellbores, named as relative position method for short. Based on the trajectory error ellipsoid model of single wellbore, the error ellipsoids model of adjacent wellbore was derived considering the correlation of trajectory errors between adjacent wells. Furthermore, the calculation formula of the separation factor based on relative position of adjacent wellbore was derived and solved with the conjugate gradient algorithm. Case study shows that the new approach is more precise and higher in applicability than the ellipsoid scaling method and the minimum distance method, it can evaluate the state of well collision more reasonably. By doing batch calculation with the new method and following the criterion of well collision avoidance, the permissible ranges of key parameters in the well design can be worked out quickly. This method has good application in the design of cluster wells and directional wells.

文摘The Mg2+/Li+/Cl solutions were filtrated with a commercially available DK nanofiltration membrane to investigate the possibility to enrich the lithium component.The investigation was significant as such an approach might be a competing substitute for the present lithium purification industry and the environmental protection purpose.The Donnan steric pore model(DSPM) was implemented for the prediction.The separation of Mg2+/Li+was mainly affected by the working pressure(or the permeation flux) and a limiting separation factor was found around 0.31.The effective membrane charge density was evaluated and its dependence on the permeation flux as well as the ion pattern was discussed.For predicting an actual separation of electrolytes,the experimental investigation seems necessary for the reliability and efficiency.

文摘Three types of mine gas samples were used in the solutions of tetrahydrofuran(THF),sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)and THF-SDS with/without MMT respectively to investigate the effect of montmorillonite(MMT)on separation characteristics of methane recovered from mine gas based on hydrate method.The partition coefficient,separation factor and recovery rate were used to evaluate the effects of MMT,and the selection factor was primarily proposed to define the selectivity of mine gas hydrate in the relative target gases.The experimental results indicate that MMT could improve the following factors including hydration separation factor,the selection factor,the partition coefficient,and the recovery rate.Furthermore,the effect of SDS on the function of MMT is analyzed in the process of hydration separation.Finally,due to the results of the experiment,it is concluded that MMT hydration mechanism explores the effect of MMT enrichment methane from mine gas.

文摘Nonnegative matrix factorization(NMF)has shown good performances on blind audio source separation(BASS).While the NMF analysis is a non-convex optimization problem when both the basis and encoding matrices need to be estimated simultaneously,the source separation step of the NMF-based BASS with a fixed basis matrix has been considered convex.However,because the basis matrix for the BASS is typically constructed by concatenating the basis matrices trained with individual source signals,the subspace spanned by the basis vectors for one source may overlap with that for other sources.In this paper,we have shown that the resulting encoding vector is not unique when the subspaces spanned by basis vectors for the sources overlap,which implies that the initialization of the encoding vector in the source separation stage is not trivial.Furthermore,we propose a novel method to initialize the encoding vector for the separation step based on the prior model of the encoding vector.Experimental results showed that the proposed method outperformed the uniform random initialization by 1.09 and 2.21dB in the source-to-distortion ratio,and 0.20 and 0.23 in PESQ scores for supervised and semi-supervised cases,respectively.
文摘Leaching is an important way of separation of trace elements from coal. Based on leaching experiments, the content of trace elements separated out from coal is related to their existing state and content in coal, the duration of leaching process, temperature of leaching liquor and its acidity and basicity. The higher the temperature of leaching liquor and the longer the leaching time, the higher the contents of separated trace elements will be. In the course of leaching, the pH values of leaching liquors change and different trace elements are affected differently by the pH values.
文摘The separation method using chiral stationary phase (CSP) for the preparation of enantioselective compound was widely used. In this work, supercritical fluid chromatography(SFC) was proposed to resolve the chiral mixtures. To determine the optimum operating conditions for the chiral separation of the racemic ibuprofen, the retention factors and resolutions with the change in pressure, temperature and the content of IPA (%, by volume) in supercritical CO2 were investigated. Experiments showed that the retention factor decreased with the increase of pressure and decrease in temperature. The retention factor was also influenced by the content of IPA in mobile phase, as the content of IPA in the supercritical fluid increased, the retention factor decreased. The resolution of the enantiomers became worse with the increase of IPA in the supercritical fluid. Through optimizing the experimental conditions, a SFC procedure with 13MPa, 311.15K and 4% IPA in CO2 was obtained. The peak shape of the enantiomers was symmetric with supercritical fluid chromatography when compared to the asymmetric peak shape obtained by the conventional liquid chromatography. This work demonstrated that the developed supercritical fluid chromatography procedure was suitable for the chiral separation of ibuprofen enantiomers.

文摘The discrimination of neutrons from gamma rays in a mixed radiation field is crucial in neutron detection tasks.Several approaches have been proposed to enhance the performance and accuracy of neutron-gamma discrimination.However,their performances are often associated with certain factors,such as experimental requirements and resulting mixed signals.The main purpose of this study is to achieve fast and accurate neutron-gamma discrimination without a priori information on the signal to be analyzed,as well as the experimental setup.Here,a novel method is proposed based on two concepts.The first method exploits the power of nonnegative tensor factorization(NTF)as a blind source separation method to extract the original components from the mixture signals recorded at the output of the stilbene scintillator detector.The second one is based on the principles of support vector machine(SVM)to identify and discriminate these components.In addition to these two main methods,we adopted the Mexican-hat function as a continuous wavelet transform to characterize the components extracted using the NTF model.The resulting scalograms are processed as colored images,which are segmented into two distinct classes using the Otsu thresholding method to extract the features of interest of the neutrons and gamma-ray components from the background noise.We subsequently used principal component analysis to select the most significant of these features wich are used in the training and testing datasets for SVM.Bias-variance analysis is used to optimize the SVM model by finding the optimal level of model complexity with the highest possible generalization performance.In this framework,the obtained results have verified a suitable bias–variance trade-off value.We achieved an operational SVM prediction model for neutron-gamma classification with a high true-positive rate.The accuracy and performance of the SVM based on the NTF was evaluated and validated by comparing it to the charge comparison method via figure of merit.The results indicate that the proposed approach has a superior discrimination quality(figure of merit of 2.20).
文摘This paper numerically investigates the influence of separation variation of the outriggers on the hydrodynamic performance of a high speed trimaran (HST) aiming at improving its applicability in diverse realistic disciplines. The present investigation was performed within the framework of the 2-D slender body method (SBM) by calculating the resistance of three symmetric trimaran series moving in a calm free surface of deep water. Each trimaran series comprises of 4681 configurations generated by considering 151 staggers (-50%≤a≤+ 100%), and 31 separations (100%≤β≤400%) for 81 Froude numbers (0.20≤Fn≤ 1.0). In developing the three trimaran series, Wigley-st. AMECRC-09, and NPL-4a models were used separately for both the main and side hulls of each individu;d series models. A computer macro named Tri-PL was created using the Visual Basic for Applications~. Tri-PL~ sequentially interfaced Maxsurfe then Hullspeed to generate the models of the three trimaran series together with their detailed hydrostatic particulars, followed by their resistance components. The numerical results were partially validated against the available published numerical calculations and experimental results, to benchmark the Tri-PL macro and hence to rely on the analysis outcomes. A graph template was creaLed within the framework of SigmaPlot to visualize the significant results of the Tri-PL properlv.

文摘Ambient Assisted Living(AAL) is becoming an important research field. Many technologies have emerged related with pervasive computing vision, which can give support for AAL. One of the most reliable approaches is based on wireless sensor networks(WSNs). In this paper, we propose a coverage-aware unequal clustering protocol with load separation(CUCPLS) for data gathering of AAL applications based on WSNs. Firstly, the coverage overlap factor for nodes is introduced that accounts for the degree of target nodes covered. In addition, to balance the intra-cluster and inter-cluster energy consumptions, different competition radiuses of CHs are computed theoretically in different rings, and smaller clusters are formed near the sink. Moreover, two CHs are selected in each cluster for load separation to alleviate the substantial energy consumption difference between a single CH and its member nodes. Furthermore, a backoff waiting time is adopted during the selection of the two CHs to reduce the number of control messages employed. Simulation results demonstrate that the CUCPLS not only can achieve better coverage performance, but also balance the energy consumption of a network and prolong network lifetime.
文摘The gas separation properties of free- standing film of polyaniline (PANI) for gas pairs of He/N2, H_2/N_2. CO_2/N_2 and CO_2/CH_4 at room temperature were measured as a function of the protonation state. Variation of the gas permeabilities coefficient of PANI with an insulator to metal transition upon the protonation processes was observed, which might be due to a change in both gas solubility coefficient and diffusion coefficient with the protonation state.
文摘Source separation is the basic premise for making effective use of household wastes. In eight cities of China, how- ever, several pilot projects of source separation finally failed because of the poor participation rate of residents. In order to solve this problem, identifying those factors that influence residents’ behavior of source separation becomes crucial. By means of questionnaire survey, we conducted descriptive analysis and ex- ploratory factor analysis. The results show that trouble-feeling, moral notion, environment protection, public education, environment value and knowledge deficiency are the main factors that play an important role for residents in deciding to separate their household wastes. Also, according to the contribution percentage of the six main factors to the total behavior of source separation, their influencing power is analyzed, which will provide suggestions on household waste management for policy makers and decision makers in China.

文摘A radiochemical procedure used to separate and purify trace concentration thorium produced in heavy ion reaction with uranium targets is presented. The procedure can rapidly yield thorium fraction suitable for gamma-ray spectroscopy studies. The resultant gamma-ray spectra showed that Th was isolated from a large number of elements produced in the reaction, and there were only a few contaminating activities of isotopes of Sc, Cd, In, etc. The decontamination factors for the main reaction products are given.
文摘<strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the lactation volume and milk secretion of mother’s milk in puerperal women separated from mother and infant, and to study the related influencing factors. <strong>Methods:</strong> Selected February 2015-February 2020 in Foshan women and children’s hospital 420 cases of maternal as the research object, using lactation related factors comprehensive questionnaire of maternal and infant separation of puerperal women for continuous determination of amount of lactation, and 1 - 7 days and 8 to 14 days postpartum lactation quantity and Pearson correlation analysis, using multiple linear regression analysis to affect maternal separation of puerperal women in lactation of breast volume related factors were analyzed. <strong>Results:</strong> The lactation volume of the puerperal women was on the rise within 14 days after delivery. 14 days mammary volume ware 545.13 - 243.18 ml, postpartum lactation II period start time was (67.48 + 26.57) h. The correlation coefficient between lactation volume on day 4 and lactation volume on day 14 was 0.04 (P < 0.05). Pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, lactation II period start time, birth gestational age, maternal age is affecting maternal separation of the main factors of puerperal women lactation milk. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Early maternal separation of puerperal women breast milk lactation quantity is little, lactation II later period start time, delay rate is high: in clinical nursing work, should pay attention to produce age is bigger, smaller gestational age and birth with pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, maternal lactation stage II startup delay, should be timely intervention of maternal and infant separation maternal management effectively, promote successful lactation and increase the amount of lactation, for clinical guidance and provides some references for the separation of puerperal women breastfeeding.
文摘Distillation is one of the oldest and most important separation processes used in the chemical and petrochemical industries. On the other hand, it is a process the thermodynamic efficiency of which is very low, and therefore reducing the consumption of energy is one of the targets of research studies on distillation. This article arose from seeking to reduce energy consumption in a distillation train of 1,2-dichloroethane (ethylene dichloride-EDC) of a commercial plant producing vinyl monochloride (VMC), which involves an azeotropic distillation column. The reduction in the reboiler heat duty caused significant changes in concentration and temperature profiles throughout the column due to the formation of two liquid phases. The results show that, although very small in percentage terms (less than 2.5%), the appearance of the 2nd liquid phase causes significant changes in the operation of the column and the separation achieved.

文摘Most of the existing algorithms for blind sources separation have a limitation that sources are statistically independent. However, in many practical applications, the source signals are non- negative and mutual statistically dependent signals. When the observations are nonnegative linear combinations of nonnegative sources, the correlation coefficients of the observations are larger than these of source signals. In this letter, a novel Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) algorithm with least correlated component constraints to blind separation of convolutive mixed sources is proposed. The algorithm relaxes the source independence assumption and has low-complexity algebraic com- putations. Simulation results on blind source separation including real face image data indicate that the sources can be successfully recovered with the algorithm.
