Other Cities’Distribution Institutions for Publishing Books in Modern Chinese Libraries:Taking Huating Bookstore,the Shanghai General Distribution Office of Modern Zhejiang Library,as an Example

Many modern Chinese libraries have established distribution agencies in other cities to distribute books published or sold on consignment.Huating Bookstore,which was once the Shanghai General Distribution Office of Zhejiang Library in modern times,is one of them.On the basis of a brief description of modern Zhejiang Library and its book publishing,as well as the overview of Huating Bookstore,the paper introduces and analyzes the ZPL Publishing Book Catalogue sent by Huating Bookstore,and the ZPL publishing and selling consignment books issued by Huating Bookstore.It points out that Huating Bookstore is a bridge between the ZPL located in Hangzhou and various retail ZPL publishing bookstores in Shanghai.Their production and sales relationship is a mutually beneficial one.

An efficient method for constructing a random insertional mutant library for forward genetics in Nannochloropsis oceanica

Insertional mutation,phenotypic evaluation,and mutated gene cloning are widely used to clone genes from scratch.Exogenous genes can be integrated into the genome during non-homologous end joining(NHEJ)of the double-strand breaks of DNA,causing insertional mutation.The random insertional mutant library constructed using this method has become a method of forward genetics for gene cloning.However,the establishment of a random insertional mutant library requires a high transformation efficiency of exogenous genes.Many microalgal species show a low transformation efficiency,making constructing random insertional mutant libraries difficult.In this study,we established a highly efficient transformation method for constructing a random insertional mutant library of Nannochloropsis oceanica,and tentatively tried to isolate its genes to prove the feasibility of the method.A gene that may control the growth rate and cell size was identified.This method will facilitate the genetic studies of N.oceanica,which should also be a reference for other microalgal species.

Construction of Molecular Biology and Experiment Case Library for Graduate Students

The paper is based on literature search,introducing and analyzing the book publishing situation of modern Peking University Library from the perspective of the publisher being Peking University Library and its predecessor.It is pointed out that the majority of the book printing methods published by the modern Peking University Library are lead printing,and among the types of Chinese library classification,catalogue of library collections is the most common.

Design and Implementation of Library Seating Management System

The library seating management system is an important part of the library’s modern services. The system is based on the Spring and Spring Boot framework, and the system realizes a series of functions such as real-time query, reservation, and cancellation of seat resources, providing users with great convenience. With a simple operation, users can know the availability of seats in the library in real time and reserve them according to their needs. The Optimization Path of Research Support Services in University Libraries from the Perspective of Affordance Theory

University libraries,as an integral component of university research capabilities,are tasked with serving education by providing research support to faculty and students.This study adopts an affordance research perspective originating from ecological psychology to explore the optimization path of research support services in libraries in the new media era.Based on the characteristics of university library services,this research analyzes three aspects:production affordance,mobile affordance,and social affordance,and proposes practical recommendations to guide future research service practices of university libraries.

Based on several bibliographic advertisements carried in newspapers and magazines from 1919 to 1922 for books published by Peking University Publishing Department,and issued by Yadong Library,the paper analyzes the characteristics of the books published by Peking University Publishing Department during this period,and points out that Yadong Library entered its golden period of development due to move from the alley to the main road and obtain the management rights of the books published by Peking University Publishing Department.

基于3DE平台Library架构的模板管理方法研究

在使用3DE平台的设计工作中,随着标准化模板积累,特别是抽水蓄能电站中,水工建筑物结构形式较为统一,大量采用了标准化模板建模,客观上导致模板在创建、发布、升级、拓展、归集、查询、应用等环节出现问题,影响设计效率。针对上述问题,开展了Library架构的3DE模板系统化管理方法的研究,探索了该架构下模板库创建、查询、应用的技术路线,并完成了抽水蓄能电站水工结构模板库的搭建。

高校图书馆员数据素养提升策略——来自Library carpentry课程项目的经验

通过网络调查和文献调研分析了图书馆员的数据素养提升的Library carpentry课程项目,从发起背景、课程团队、经费支持、课程目标、课程内容等方面调查了Library carpentry的管理和运行实践,从项目组织、课程和教学方面总结出Library carpentry项目的特点。根据Library carpentry的成功经验,从开拓图书馆服务视野、打造实用化课程体系、推动教育可持续发展,搭建协同教育平台等角度思考对我国图书馆员数字素养教育的启示。

The Role of Library and Information Science Education in the Development of Community Health Information Services for People Living with HIV/AIDS: Perspectives of Directors and Managers of Public Libraries

This article identifies the role of library and information science (LIS) education in the development of community health information services for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Preliminary findings are presented from semi- structured qualitative interviews that were conducted with eleven directors and managers of local branches in the Knox County Public Library (KCPL) System that is located in the East Tennessee region in the United States. Select feedback reported by research participants is summarized in the article about strategies in LIS education that can help local public librarians and others in their efforts to become more responsive information providers to PLWHA. Research findings help better understand the issues and concerns regarding the development of digital and non-digital health information services for PLWHA in local public library institutions.

Virtual Home Library System—— Let every Chinese family having their own libraries

Virtual Home Library (VHL) is an integrated IT system that utilizes virtual reality technology and an IPTV set-top box (STB) to virtually construct a ‘library’ and the relevant reading environment on televisions in people’s home. Unlike the online e-book reading applications, Virtual Home Library can be applied on televisions – the world’s most convenient and most efficient communication tool. Providing extended digital library services, it will be a perfect group reading utility for family readers. The system has been investigated by a joint research team formed by the National Library of China and the Communication University of China, collaborating with a Chinese IPTV equipment manufacturer. This paper presents some preliminary investigations of the VHL system performed by the research team.

Build A “Domestically Best and World Leading” Library——An Interview With Sun Yigang, Deputy Librarian of the National Central Library

Statistics show that, in 2016, the National Central Library had has more than 1.27 million books, 36.46million volumes of documents, 1323 TB of digital resources, nearly 5.64 million visitors, nearly 25 million copies of literature and held 4,400 social education activities including exhibitions, lectures, training,universal reading and art popularization, benefiting more than 1.73 million people. All these figures reveal the achievements of the National Central Library in enriching the collection resources and providing public cultural services in the past five years.

In search of service innovations by public libraries in Chinese urban centers:A case study of Dongguan Library

This article introduces several of the more significant service delivery innovations and their resulting accomplishments instigated by Dongguan Library(thereafter abbreviated as DGL) in recent years. The textual exposition of this paper is based on a case study of DGL by this author about its user-centered vision, mission, immediate objectives and the exhibited service performance within a contextual environment of collegial support from its professional peers. After a five-year period of intensive efforts on such focused professional development and practice, DGL has completed its information service mapping and information delivery for the entire municipality of Dongguan on a 7-day and twentyfour-hour(7/24) basis. This singular feast of accomplishment seems to suggest the moral that any significant development of scale of a municipal library has to be in keeping pace closely with the progress of the society at large in general and with the changing information demands of its local clientele in particular.

Linker Library:基于几何特征的骨架跃迁片段库

骨架跃迁是目前应用最广泛的药物设计策略之一,但是现有骨架跃迁方法产生的化合物大多为已报道的先导化合物的衍生物或类似物,化学结构缺乏新颖性。针对现有骨架跃迁方法的局限性,提出了一种保持药效团与骨架之间的相对距离和角度不变的骨架跃迁策略,构建一个包含骨架几何特征的linker片段库:Linker Library。该片段库可以根据骨架中心到连接点之间距离和角度,推荐结构新颖且可保持官能团相对位置的片段,有助于指导化合物的骨架跃迁并加速药物发现进程。

The practice and reflection of providing the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services in Vocational Colleges libraries

Abstract ： Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Service is the major form for libraries to share resources.The librairies of universities or colleges can better guarantee the supply of document information ,accommodating to users＇ need for documents to the greatest extent.This article elaborates on the definition of Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery as well as their significance with a key focus on the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery practice of Oriental Vocational and Technical College in Zhejiang, meanwhile it also puts forward some suggestions on how to better practisee the service of lnterlibrary Loan and Document Delivery.

A preliminary study on criteria weights for a library's digital resource selection:From the viewpoints of both users and librarians

Through investigating both users' and librarians' perceptions of the relative importance of the major criteria governing the selection of digital resources, we attempted to develop a criterion weight framework for a library's selection of digital resources, which can meet both the users' requirements and the library's goal of developing digital collections. The respective weight of each specific criterion is decided through the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) Method. The findings of this study indicate that, when assigning weights to the selection criteria, it is important to consult the opinions of a wide crosssection of people, especially the views of different users. As a result, the digital resource selection system characterized by the criteria weights can reflect more comprehensively the users' requirements, and meanwhile it enables librarians' more rational selection of digital resources.

Construction of personalized knowledg environment for professional libraries:From the practice of Chinese National Agricultural Library

Purpose:Centralized on the construction of a personalized knowledge environment that can better meet the need of Chinese agricultural researchers,this paper presents the practice conducted by the National Agricultural Library(NAL)of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(CAAS)in the digital research environment.Based on the analysis of information needs of Chinese agricultural researchers,CAAS constructed digital research environments for its researchers at different levels,by means of providing more professional knowledge services for targeted researcher users.Design/methodology/approach:On the basis of the construction of public service platform—National Agriculture Information System of the Library of CAAS(i.e.NAL),local resources were integrated with public open resources by using key technologies,such as Web 2.0,knowledge navigation,linked data and intelligent retrieval,to construct an institutional personalized digital repository for CAAS researchers.Findings:By using the construction tool CAASPKE,knowledge environment platforms have been constructed for 10 CAAS institutes,taking roughly 33%of CAAS institutes.In addition,16 discipline information environment platforms have been set up for CAAS research teams,and 5 professional digital libraries for provincial agricultural academies,which spread in Beijing,Shanxi,Sichuan,and the Xinjiang and Tibet Autonomous Regions.Research limitations:User’s local collections ought to be integrated with IR resources of the CAAS platform constantly.Due to the lack of overall knowledge resources,functions of the platform have not been fully explored,so the effect need be evaluated with the time being.Practical implications:The construction of research knowledge environment in CAAS has not only contributed to the development of its personalized knowledge service system,but also made the functions of libraries transformed into the information service system.In this case,CAAS libraries are now playing more and more important roles in the innovation process of Chinese agricultural researchers.Originality/value:The innovative practice is the first endeavor that ever implemented in the agricultural information service area across China’s mainland.The construction tool developed for the knowledge environment of personalization could customize resources flexibly according to the need of different CAAS users,and it can organize the knowledge resources of CAAS institutes effectively.
