In this study, we focus on a three-dimensional hexagonal bilayer acoustic crystal with rotation, layer, and translation degrees of freedom. By systematically reducing the crystal symmetries, we realize a full hierarchical structure of the higher-order topological states. This hierarchical progression begins with the valley-induced twodimensional surface state, followed by the one-dimensional hinge state that arises from the topological obstruction, and ultimately culminating in the zero-dimensional corner state resulting from the edge polarization mechanism. Through finite element simulations and numerical calculations of topological invariants, we confirm the topological origins of all these hierarchical states. Moreover, we successfully verified the full hierarchical topology by directly probing the acoustic field within a finitesized three-dimensional sample. This study offers novel perspectives on the fundamental research pertaining to wave modulation and the intelligent control of sound fields.展开更多

Three bio-inspired hierarchical honeycombs(BHHs) with different topologies are designed by replacing each vertex of square honeycombs with smaller arc-shaped structures. The effects of hierarchical topologies and multi-material layout on in-plane dynamic crushings and absorbed-energy capacities of the BHHs are explored based on the explicit finite element(FE) analysis.Different deformation modes can be observed from the BHHs, which mainly depend upon hierarchical topologies and impact velocities. According to energy efficiency method and one-dimensional(1D) shock theory, calculation formulas of densification strains and plateau stresses for the BHHs are derived to characterize the dynamic bearing capacity, which is consistent well with FE results. Compared with conventional honeycombs, the crushing load efficiency and energy absorption capacity of the BHHs can be improved by changing the proper hierarchical topology and multi-material layout. These researches will provide theoretical guidance for innovative design and dynamic response performance controllability of honeycombs.展开更多

In this paper, we present a novel topology control and data forwarding mechanism called REMUDA, which is designed for a practical indoor parking lot management system. REMUDA forms a tree-based hierarchical network topology which brings as many nodes as possible to be leaf nodes and constructs a virtual cluster structure. Meanwhile, it takes the reliability, stability and path length into account in the tree construction process. Through an experiment in a network of 30 real sensor nodes, we evaluate the performance of REMUDA and compare it with LEPS which is also a practical routing protocol in TinyOS. Experiment results show that REMUDA can achieve better performance than LEPS.展开更多

Six types of flow, material, energy, information, humanware, partsware and capital are clasified. These flows connect enterprise components/subsystems to formulate system topology and logical structure. Enterprise components/subsystems are abstracted to generic elementary and composite classes. Finally, the model architecture is applied to a management system of an integrated suply chain, and suggestion are made on the usage of the model architecture and further development of the model as well as implementation issues.展开更多

To perform single-source applications in hierarchical topology, we propose an application level multicast approach, Hierarchical Topology Aware Grouping (HTAG), which exploits information about path overlap among members and topological hierarchy to construct overlay tree at different network layers. We present simulations of both our protocol and the TAG over generated hierarchical topologies. The results indicate the effectiveness of our approach in reducing duplicate packets and preserving available bandwidth, with reasonable delays increase.展开更多
