Edible fungi are large fungi with high added value that can be utilized as resources.They are rich in high-quality protein,carbohydrate,various vitamins,mineral elements and other nutrients,and are characterized by high protein,low sugar,low fat and low cholesterol.In addition,edible fungi contain a variety of bioactive substances,such as polysaccharides,dietary fiber,steroids,polyphenols,and most of these compounds have antioxidant,anti-tumor and other physiological functions.This review comprehensively discusses the bioactive components and functional characteristics of edible fungi(such as antioxidant,anti-aging,hypolipidemic activities,etc.).Then the recent developments and prospect in the high-valued utilization of edible fungi are discussed and summarized.The objective of this review is to improve the understanding of health-promoting properties of edible fungi,and provide reference for the industrial production of edible fungi-based health products. 展开更多

Effect of Maturity Indices on Growth and Quality of High Value Vegetables

The study took place at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute’s Olericulture Division’s research farm from March 2021 to February 2022 (BARI). In a protected net house, we investigated the impact of five different types of vegetables on various maturation stages, including tomato, broccoli, sweet pepper, cucumber, and netted melon. Vegetables cultivated under protected conditions in a transparent poly-film net house can improve quality, maturity, fruit size, and yield. When fruits and vegetables are picked before they are fully mature, they may stay green for longer, but they may not ripen to a satisfactory color and flavor, resulting in a loss of consumer confidence. Furthermore, because fruit continues to grow until the harvest, immature fruit will be smaller than mature fruit, reducing harvest yield. We tried to determine the right maturation stages in order to avoid product loss during our investigation. The tomato was found to be an appropriate size (6.5 cm length and 6.2 cm diameter), weight (84 g), TSS (4.5 percent), pH (4.3), “turning red”, and “tasty” at the week 5 stage, while the broccoli was found to be an appropriate size (12.0 cm length and 13.0 cm diameter), weight (360 g), and “green” color at the week 5 stage. At the week 6 stage, the nettled melon was found to be of appropriate size (15.2 cm length and 14.5 cm diameter), weight (800 g), TSS (10.8 percent), pH (6.3), “net fully developed” on the fruit skin and “much tasty,” while cucumber was found to be of appropriate size (8.8 - 10.8 cm length and 2.2 - 2.9 cm diameter), weight (61 - 88 g), TSS (3.8 - 4.1 percent), pH (6.3), “less powdery”. As a result, establishing the optimal maturity of our research will benefit both consumers and growers. 展开更多

The study was undertaken to identify the suitable mulch paper for different high-value vegetables during the winter season of November 2019 to March 2020 at the Olericulture research field of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Gazipur, Bangladesh. The study was a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. Four vegetable varieties viz., tomato, brinjal, capsicum and broccoli and 3 mulch treatments viz., T1 = Silver over black mulch;T2 = Black mulch;T3 = No mulch were included in this study. Different vegetables responded differently with the changes of mulches irrespective of different characters. it was clear that fruit number, average fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter were strongly related to soil moisture content. The effect of different plastic mulches on fruit weight per plant and yield (t/ha) was significant. Mulching produced higher fruit yield per plant and fruit yield per hectare than for the control, indicating that the mulch had a positive effect in generating increased fruit yield. Silver over black plastic mulch produced the highest fruit yield viz., 98.05 t/ha (tomato), 54.11 t/ha (brinjal), 34.33 t/ha (capsicum), 26.09 t/ha (broccoli) followed by black and no mulches, while the control plot produced the lowest fruit yield. 展开更多

The forest cover of Armenia makes up 11.17% of the total territory of Armenia. The forests of Armenia make important habitat for numerous biological objects. They also provide important ecosystem services, including key services to forest adjacent population. Deforestation and forest degradation are serious threats in Armenia. In the result of special studies the principles and criteria for identification of HCVFs (high conservation value forests) in the conditions of Armenia were developed. They are based on the guidelines for identification and management of HCVFs, but adapted to the conditions of mountainous forests of Armenia as a small country. Out of six generic types of HCVFs, it is suggested to define five types of HCVFs with respective sub-types. Proper protection of such forests shall ensure conservation of biological diversity and maintenance of ecosystem services provided by forests. 展开更多

Preparation of biodiesel from waste oils containing 72% of free fatty acids catalyzed by a novel Br?nsted acidic ionic liquid 1-sulfobutyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrosulfate([BHSO_3MIM][HSO_4]) was systematically investigated.The optimum molar ratio of methanol to waste oils,catalyst amount,reaction temperature and reaction time were 8/1,10%(based on the mass of waste oils),140°C and 6 h,respectively,under which the obtained yield of biodiesel reached 94.9%.Also,[BHSO_3MIM][HSO_4] as a catalyst still retained around 97% of its original catalytic activity after successive re-use of 5 batches(6 h per batch),showing the excellent operational stability.Moreover,the acidic IL [BHSO_3MIM][HSO_4] was able to ef ficiently catalyze conversions of waste oils with different amounts of FFAs(free fatty acids) into biodiesel,and showed tremendous application potential.Therefore,an ef ficient and environmentally friendly catalyst is provided for the synthesis of biodiesel from waste oils with high acid value. 展开更多

This paper introduced the concepts of HCVF and ecological forest,and compared their similarities and differences in terms of identification criteria,zoning methods and application scope. In order to realize the large-scale and high-value utilization of waste architectural ceramics,high-temperature resistant materials based on waste architectural ceramics were prepared with sodium silicate as the binder,clay/bauxite and metakaolin/bauxite as coating materials,and the cold strength obtaining mechanism was explored.The phase composition,the microstructure and the mechanical properties of the high temperature resistant materials based on waste architectural ceramics were tested and analyzed.The results showed that when the heat treatment temperature was between 110-1000℃,the strength of the samples mainly came from the physical adhesion of sodium silicate and fine powder.When the temperature rose to 1100℃,the strength of the sample was improved since the internal low-melting-point components melted and promoted sintering.The addition of clay and bauxite can effectively enhance the flexural strength of the samples when the heat treatment temperature is 1000℃.When the heat treatment temperature rises from 900 to 1000℃,the flexural strength of the samples will be enhanced owing to the formation of silica alumina spinel and mullite from metakaolin. 展开更多

Clean and efficient recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)has become an urgent need to promote sustainable and rapid development of human society.Therefore,we provide a critical and comprehensive overview of the various technologies for recycling spent LIBs,starting with lithium-ion power batteries.Recent research on raw material collection,metallurgical recovery,separation and purification is highlighted,particularly in terms of all aspects of economic efficiency,energy consumption,technology transformation and policy management.Mechanisms and pathways for transformative full-component recovery of spent LIBs are explored,revealing a clean and efficient closed-loop recovery mechanism.Optimization methods are proposed for future recycling technologies,with a focus on how future research directions can be industrialized.Ultimately,based on life-cycle assessment,the challenges of future recycling are revealed from the LIBs supply chain and stability of the supply chain of the new energy battery industry to provide an outlook on clean and efficient short process recycling technologies.This work is designed to support the sustainable development of the new energy power industry,to help meet the needs of global decarbonization strategies and to respond to the major needs of industrialized recycling. 展开更多

A novel method of extracting valuable metals from Ti-bearing blast furnace slag(TBBF slag)via pressure pyrolysis of recyclable ammonium sulfate(AS)−acid leaching process was proposed.The results show that when pressurized roasting at an AS-to-slag mass ratio 3:1 and 370℃for 90 min,the extraction rates of titanium,aluminum and magnesium reached 94.5%,91.9%and 97.4%,respectively.The acid leaching solution was subjected to re-crystallization in a boiling state to obtain a titanium product having a TiO2 content of 94.1%.The above crystallization mother liquor was adjusted to pH=6 and pH≥12.2,respectively,and then qualified Al2O3 and MgO products were obtained.The analysis through XRD and SEM−EDS proves that the main phases in roasted samples were NH4AlSO4,CaSO4 and TiOSO4.The thermodynamic analysis presents that the main minerals of perovskite,spinel and diopside in raw ore could spontaneously react with the intermediate produced by AS under optimal conditions. 展开更多

This paper focuses on synthesizing a mixed robust H_2/H_∞ linear parameter varying(LPV) controller for the longitudinal motion of an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle via a high order singular value decomposition(HOSVD) approach.The design of hypersonic flight control systems is highly challenging due to the enormous complexity of the vehicle dynamics and the presence of significant uncertainties.Motivated by recent results on both LPV control and tensor-product(TP) model transformation approach,the velocity and altitude tracking control problems for the air-breathing hypersonic vehicle is reduced to that of a state feedback stabilizing controller design for a polytopic LPV system with guaranteed performances.The controller implementation is converted into a convex optimization problem with parameterdependent linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) constraints,which is intuitively tractable using LMI control toolbox.Finally,numerical simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

A special input impedance matching topology is implemented to provide low noise figure (NF) and good input matching in this cryogenic LNA design. The measurement results show that the NF is within 0.25 dB from the minimum NF of a single transistor, the power gain is above 20 dB, the flatness is within 1 dB, and the maximum input return loss is lower than -20 dB in bandwidth. 展开更多

Wacker oxidation is an industry-adopted process to transform olefins into value-added epoxides and carbonyls.However,traditional Wacker oxidation involves the use of homogeneous palladium and copper catalysts for the olefin addition and reductive elimination.Here,we demonstrated an ultrahigh loading Cu single atom catalyst(14%Cu,mass fraction)for the palladium-free Wacker oxidation of 4-vinylanisole into the corresponding ketone with N-methylhydroxylamine hydrochloride as an additive under mild conditions.Mechanistic studies by ^(18)O and deuterium isotope labelling revealed a hydrogen shift mechanism in this palladium-free process using N-methylhydroxylamine hydrochloride as the oxygen source.The reaction scope can be further extended to Kucherov oxidation.Our study paves the way to replace noble metal catalysts in the traditional homogeneous processes with single atom catalysts. 展开更多

China is the largest producer and consumer of calcium carbide in the world.The calcium carbide industry is an indispensable industry to support the basic life of people.The huge production capacity of calcium carbide is accompanied by a large number of solid waste carbide slag.Due to the immature treatment technology of carbide slag,a large number of carbide slag are stacked on-site,resulting in land occupation,air-drying,easy take-off ash,and pollution of the environment and water resources.In China,calcium carbide is mainly used to produce acetylene and further utilized,80%of which is used to produce polyvinyl chloride(PVC).A large amount of carbide slag is not used,while only a small part is used in the traditional building materials industry,flue gas desulfurization,sewage treatment,etc.,however,the economic benefits are poor.Therefore,converting the solid waste carbide slag produced by the calcium carbide industry into high value-added CaCO3,CaCl2,CaSO4 whiskers,etc.has become a potential way to expand the development field of the calcium carbide industry and is environmentally friendly.This paper focuses on summarizing the traditional and emerging high value-added utiliza-tion technologies of carbide slag,and then introduces the application research of carbide slag in carbon emission reduction.Finally,the defects of these technologies are summarized and further research directions are prospected.This study provides basic guidance for the diversified development of efficient resource utilization of carbide slag.Graphical abstract Diversified development of calcium carbide industry,resource utilization of solid waste carbide slag and its application of carbon emission reduction have been fully reviewed. 展开更多

In energy industries, it is always of difficulty to produce high heat value(HHV) gas continuously using pulverized coal. In this paper, a new type furnace for partitioned alternative gasification using pulverized coal is developed, in which the oxidation and reduction reaction occur alternatively with the dropping of pulverized coal and finally HHV gas could be continuously obtained at the reduction zone exit and low heat value(LHV) gas at the oxidation zone exit. Furthermore, the gasification characteristics and their factors in furnace are numerically simulated under two dimensional model with a self-coded program, based on heat, mass and energy transfer as well as reaction principles. It is found that the producing rate of HHV gas is 1.10Nm3/kg with heat value of ll.72MJ/Nm3, how- ever, that of LHV gas is 2.58Nm3/kg with heat value of 5.30MJ/Nm3, and the coal gas efficiency is 81.16% under optimized conditions. 展开更多
