We discussed a frostdurability-based mix propo...Durability design of recycled high performance concrete(RHPC) is fundamental for improving the use rate and level of concrete waste as coarse recycled aggregate(CRA). We discussed a frostdurability-based mix proportion design method for RHPC using 100 % CRA and natural sand. Five groups of RHPC mixes with five strength grades(40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 MPa) were produced using CRA with four quality classes, and their workability, 28 d compressive strengths and frost resistances(measured by the compressive strength loss ratio and the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity) were tested. Relationships between the 28 d compressive strength, the frost resistance and the CRA quality characteristic parameter, water absorption, were then developed. The criterion of a CRA maximum water absorption limit value for RHPC was suggested, independent of its source and quality class. The results show that all RHPC mixes achieve the expected target workability, strength, and frost durability. The research results demonstrate that the application of the proposed method does not require trial testing prior to use.展开更多

Nevertheless, certain hardware considerations are required when writing C applications for HLS tools. Hence, in order to demonstrate the fundamental hardware design concepts, a case studyis presented. Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) implementation in ANSI C is examined in order to explore the important design issues such as concurrency, data recurrences and memory accesses that need to be resolved before generating the hardware using HLS tools. The analysis mesh-independent density field, interpolated by the nodal design variables at a given set of density points, is adaptively refined/coarsened accord- ing to a criterion regarding the gray-scale measure of local regions. New density points are added into the gray regions and redundant ones are removed from the regions occupied by purely solid/void phases for decreasing the number of de- sign variables. A penalization factor adaptivity technique is employed-to prevent premature convergence of the optimiza- tion iterations. Such an adaptive scheme not only improves the structural boundary description quality, but also allows for sufficient further topological evolution of the structural layout in higher adaptivity levels and thus essentially enables high-resolution solutions. Moreover, compared with the case with uniformly and finely distributed density points, the proposed adaptive method can achieve a higher numerical efficiency of the optimization process.展开更多

The superconducting (SC) NbTi/Cu strands for the coils have a quite low copper fraction (0.58). To increase the ratio of the limiting current Vs. critical current for the cable in conduit conductor (CICC), the first-stage subcable consists of several copper strands twisted around a SC composite one. The copper strand diameter is different from the SC one. Based on Bottura's CICC design approach we take the product of total copper cross-section and wetted perimeter as one of the key design parameters to meet with stability margin requirement. The product reaches 114 cm3 for 15.5 kA TF CICC at operating temperature of 4.2 K and 139 cm3 for 15 kA PF CICC at 3.8 K to obtain stability margins of 280 and 700 mJ/cm3, respectively.展开更多
With better understanding of the quality and physico-mechanical properties of rocks of dam foundation,and the physico-mechanical properties and structure design of arch dam in association with the foundation excavatio...With better understanding of the quality and physico-mechanical properties of rocks of dam foundation,and the physico-mechanical properties and structure design of arch dam in association with the foundation excavation of Xiluodu arch dam,the excavation optimization design was proposed for the foundation surface on the basis of feasibility study.Common analysis and numerical analysis results demonstrated the feasibility of using the weakly weathered rocks III1and III2as the foundation surface of super-high arch dam.In view of changes in the geological conditions at the dam foundation along the riverbed direction,the design of extending foundation surface excavation area and using consolidating grouting and optimizing structure of dam bottom was introduced,allowing for harmonization of the arch dam and foundation.Three-dimensional(3D)geomechanics model test and fi nite element analysis results indicated that the dam body and foundation have good overload stability and high bearing capacity.The monitoring data showed that the behaviors of dam and foundation correspond with the designed patterns in the construction period and the initial operation period.展开更多

In this context, high-throughput computational techniques, which have emerged in the past few years as powerful tools, make the targets of fast evaluation of adsorbents and evolving materials for CO_2 capture and CH_4 storage feasible. The microstru...To develop a high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel with high strength and high toughness, a series of martensitic steels were studied through alloying with various elements and thermodynamic simulation. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the designed steel were investigated by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, tensile testing and Charpy impact test. The results show that cementite exists between 500℃ and 700℃, M7C3 exits below 720℃, and they are much lower than the austenitizing temperature of the designed steel. Furthermore, the Ti(C,N) precipitate exists until 1280℃, which refines the microstructure and increases the strength and toughness. The optimal alloying components are 0.19% C, 1.19% Si, 2.83% Mn, 1.24% Ni, and 0.049% Ti; the tensile strength and the V notch impact toughness of the designed steel are more than 1500 MPa and 100 J, respectively.展开更多

To obtain a stable voltage from an input supply (PV cells) that is higher and lower than the output, a high efficiency and minimum ripple DC-DC converter required in the system for residential power production. Buck-boost converters make it possible to efficiently convert a DC voltage to either a lower or higher voltages. Buck-boost converters are especially useful for PV maximum power tracking purposes, where the objective is to draw maximum possible power from solar panels at all times, regardless of the load. This paper analyzes and describes step by step the process of designing, and simulation of high efficiency low ripple voltage buck-boost DC-DC converter for the photovoltaic solar conversion system applicable to a (typical) single family home based on battery-based systems. The input voltage can typically change from (20 V) initially, down to (5 V), and provide a regulated voltage within the range of the battery (12 V). PLECS simulation results provide strong evidences about the high efficiency, minimum ripple voltage, high accuracy, and the usefulness of the system of the proposed converter when applied to either residential or solar home applications.展开更多

Through this work, not only was the assemble interference checked out so as to examine validity of the structure design, but also these solid models cou ld be recognized by COSMOS/Works software, through which the finite element an alysis can be done. Then the stress and displacement of the main shaft and sur face segment in two different working states were analyzed and detected quickly according to the analysis results with COSMOS/Works. In conclusion, the optimum clearance of 1.0~2.0 mm between concave-convex studded segments is determined to make the using life of assembled roller longer.展开更多

By increasing the partial pr...Based on thermodynamic calculations, the effect of pressure and alloying elements on the nitrogen content, solidification mode, and welding characteristics were investigated in this study. By increasing the partial pressure of N_2, the nitrogen content in the weld pool increased dramatically, and the γ zone was enlarged. The nitrogen content increased as alloying elements such as Cr and Mn were added to the molten steel. The δ zone with high temperature treatment was compressed by adding Ni. These alloying elements play important roles in the formation of the single γ region at the temperature of 298 K. With proper Mn addition, the phase area of γ was extended and became more stable, and the "ferrite trap" was also avoided. Two kinds of welding wires with different nitrogen contents were developed and corresponding MIG welding experiments were performed. As the nitrogen content in wire was higher than that in the base metal, severe blowhole defects and mixture microstructure of δ and γ developed.展开更多

Through delicate layout, a core with ordered arranged pebble bed can be formed,which ca...This paper presents a neutronics design of a 10 MW ordered-pebble-bed fluoride-salt-cooled high-temperature experimental reactor. Through delicate layout, a core with ordered arranged pebble bed can be formed,which can keep core stability and meet the space requirements for thermal hydraulics and neutronics measurements.Overall, objectives of the core include inherent safety and sufficient excess reactivity providing 120 effective full power days for experiments. Considering the requirements above, the reactive control system is designed to consist of 16 control rods distributed in the graphite reflector. Combining the large control rods worth about 18000–20000 pcm, molten salt drain supplementary means(-6980 to -3651 pcm) and negative temperature coefficient(-6.32 to -3.80 pcm/K) feedback of the whole core, the reactor can realize sufficient shutdown margin and safety under steady state. Besides, some main physical properties, such as reactivity control, neutron spectrum and flux, power density distribution, and reactivity coefficient,have been calculated and analyzed in this study. In addition, some special problems in molten salt coolant are also considered, including ~6Li depletion and tritium production.展开更多

文摘The globally increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in atmosphere after combustion of coal-or petroleum-based fuels give rise to tremendous interest in searching for porous materials to efficiently capture carbon dioxide(CO_2) and store methane(CH4), where the latter is a kind of clean energy source with abundant reserves and lower CO_2 emission. Hundreds of thousands of porous materials can be enrolled on the candidate list, but how to quickly identify the really promising ones, or even evolve materials(namely, rational design high-performing candidates) based on the large database of present porous materials? In this context, high-throughput computational techniques, which have emerged in the past few years as powerful tools, make the targets of fast evaluation of adsorbents and evolving materials for CO_2 capture and CH_4 storage feasible. This review provides an overview of the recent computational efforts on such related topics and discusses the further development in this field.

文摘Although the efficiency of CH3 NH3 PI3 has been refreshed to 25.2%,stability and toxicity remain the main challenges for its applications.The search for novel solar-cell absorbers that are highly stable,non-toxic,inexpensive,and highly efficient is now a viable research focus.In this review,we summarize our recent research into the high-throughput screening and materials design of solar-cell absorbers,including single perovskites,double perovskites,and materials beyond Perovskites.BazrS3(single perovskite),Ba2 BiNbS6(double perovskite),HgAl2 Se4(spinel),and IrSb3(skutterudite)were discovered to be potential candidates in terms of their high stabilities,appropriate bandgaps,small carrier effective masses,and strong optical absorption.

文摘To develop a high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel with high strength and high toughness, a series of martensitic steels were studied through alloying with various elements and thermodynamic simulation. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the designed steel were investigated by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, tensile testing and Charpy impact test. The results show that cementite exists between 500℃ and 700℃, M7C3 exits below 720℃, and they are much lower than the austenitizing temperature of the designed steel. Furthermore, the Ti(C,N) precipitate exists until 1280℃, which refines the microstructure and increases the strength and toughness. The optimal alloying components are 0.19% C, 1.19% Si, 2.83% Mn, 1.24% Ni, and 0.049% Ti; the tensile strength and the V notch impact toughness of the designed steel are more than 1500 MPa and 100 J, respectively.
文摘The solar energy conversion system is very interesting alternative on supplement the electric system generation, due to the persistent cost reduction of the overall system and cleaner power generation. To obtain a stable voltage from an input supply (PV cells) that is higher and lower than the output, a high efficiency and minimum ripple DC-DC converter required in the system for residential power production. Buck-boost converters make it possible to efficiently convert a DC voltage to either a lower or higher voltages. Buck-boost converters are especially useful for PV maximum power tracking purposes, where the objective is to draw maximum possible power from solar panels at all times, regardless of the load. This paper analyzes and describes step by step the process of designing, and simulation of high efficiency low ripple voltage buck-boost DC-DC converter for the photovoltaic solar conversion system applicable to a (typical) single family home based on battery-based systems. The input voltage can typically change from (20 V) initially, down to (5 V), and provide a regulated voltage within the range of the battery (12 V). PLECS simulation results provide strong evidences about the high efficiency, minimum ripple voltage, high accuracy, and the usefulness of the system of the proposed converter when applied to either residential or solar home applications.
文摘Crushing roller is one of the main parts of High-p re ssure Grinding Roller, which is a kind of high efficient ore crushing equipment. A kind of assembled roller, which is more convenient to renovate worn surface b y simply replacing segmented surface of the roller, was developed. The structura l models of assembled roller’s components were designed with SolidWorks softwar e based on feature modeling, these solid models of the roller were virtually ass embled. Through this work, not only was the assemble interference checked out so as to examine validity of the structure design, but also these solid models cou ld be recognized by COSMOS/Works software, through which the finite element an alysis can be done. Then the stress and displacement of the main shaft and sur face segment in two different working states were analyzed and detected quickly according to the analysis results with COSMOS/Works. In conclusion, the optimum clearance of 1.0~2.0 mm between concave-convex studded segments is determined to make the using life of assembled roller longer.
文摘Based on thermodynamic calculations, the effect of pressure and alloying elements on the nitrogen content, solidification mode, and welding characteristics were investigated in this study. By increasing the partial pressure of N_2, the nitrogen content in the weld pool increased dramatically, and the γ zone was enlarged. The nitrogen content increased as alloying elements such as Cr and Mn were added to the molten steel. The δ zone with high temperature treatment was compressed by adding Ni. These alloying elements play important roles in the formation of the single γ region at the temperature of 298 K. With proper Mn addition, the phase area of γ was extended and became more stable, and the "ferrite trap" was also avoided. Two kinds of welding wires with different nitrogen contents were developed and corresponding MIG welding experiments were performed. As the nitrogen content in wire was higher than that in the base metal, severe blowhole defects and mixture microstructure of δ and γ developed.

文摘This paper presents a neutronics design of a 10 MW ordered-pebble-bed fluoride-salt-cooled high-temperature experimental reactor. Through delicate layout, a core with ordered arranged pebble bed can be formed,which can keep core stability and meet the space requirements for thermal hydraulics and neutronics measurements.Overall, objectives of the core include inherent safety and sufficient excess reactivity providing 120 effective full power days for experiments. Considering the requirements above, the reactive control system is designed to consist of 16 control rods distributed in the graphite reflector. Combining the large control rods worth about 18000–20000 pcm, molten salt drain supplementary means(-6980 to -3651 pcm) and negative temperature coefficient(-6.32 to -3.80 pcm/K) feedback of the whole core, the reactor can realize sufficient shutdown margin and safety under steady state. Besides, some main physical properties, such as reactivity control, neutron spectrum and flux, power density distribution, and reactivity coefficient,have been calculated and analyzed in this study. In addition, some special problems in molten salt coolant are also considered, including ~6Li depletion and tritium production.
