In a typical discrete manufacturing process,a new type of reconfigurable production line is introduced,which aims to help small-and mid-size enterprises to improve machine utilization and reduce production cost.In order to effectively handle the production scheduling problem for the manufacturing system,an improved multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm based on Brownian motion(MOPSO-BM)is proposed.Since the existing MOPSO algorithms are easily stuck in the local optimum,the global search ability of the proposed method is enhanced based on the random motion mechanism of the BM.To further strengthen the global search capacity,a strategy of fitting the inertia weight with the piecewise Gaussian cumulative distribution function(GCDF)is included,which helps to maintain an excellent convergence rate of the algorithm.Based on the commonly used indicators generational distance(GD)and hypervolume(HV),we compare the MOPSO-BM with several other latest algorithms on the benchmark functions,and it shows a better overall performance.Furthermore,for a real reconfigurable production line of smart home appliances,three algorithms,namely non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II(NSGA-II),decomposition-based MOPSO(dMOPSO)and MOPSO-BM,are applied to tackle the scheduling problem.It is demonstrated that MOPSO-BM outperforms the others in terms of convergence rate and quality of solutions. 展开更多

During the last decade the emergence of Internet of Things(IoT)based applications inspired the world by providing state of the art solutions to many common problems.From traffic management systems to urban cities planning and development,IoT based home monitoring systems,and many other smart applications.Regardless of these facilities,most of these IoT based solutions are data driven and results in small accuracy values for smaller datasets.In order to address this problem,this paper presents deep learning based hybrid approach for the development of an IoT-based intelligent home security and appliance control system in the smart cities.This hybrid model consists of;convolution neural network and binary long short term model for the object detection to ensure safety of the homes while IoT based hardware components like;Raspberry Pi,Amazon Web services cloud,and GSM modems for remotely accessing and controlling of the home appliances.An android application is developed and deployed on Amazon Web Services(AWS)cloud for the remote monitoring of home appliances.A GSM device and Message queuing telemetry transport(MQTT)are integrated for communicating with the connected IoT devices to ensure the online and offline communication.For object detection purposes a camera is connected to Raspberry Pi using the proposed hybrid neural network model.The applicability of the proposed model is tested by calculating results for the object at varying distance from the camera and for different intensity levels of the light.Besides many applications the proposed model promises for providing optimum results for the small amount of data and results in high recognition rates of 95.34%compared to the conventional recognition model(k nearest neighbours)recognition rate of 76%. 展开更多

This study aims to identify the current situation and problems of environmental information statement for major four home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and television receivers) sold at online stores in Japan, and then to suggest how to improve the situation, through a questionnaire survey conducted among businesses that operate online stores and online malls with multiple online stores. The findings of this study are summarized into the following two points: (l) It is found out that environmental information statement for the home appliances at online stores has four problems: (i) less information on "three Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle)" and "chemical substances" than the one on "energy conservation"; (ii) cost for providing environmental information statement; (iii) issues associated with a label and mark placement; (iv) issues associated with energy conservation statement. (2) Improvements are suggested for each of the four problems listed above, and shown are (i) the effectiveness of, and need to promote, a label and mark placement; (ii) cost burden on buyers; (iii) need of active efforts made by businesses and of dissemination of legal regulations to businesses. 展开更多

为了提高小家电装配行业的自动化水平,设计了一种基于KEBA控制器的双臂装配机器人,以取代人工进行复杂的装配工作。详细阐述了双臂机器人控制系统的搭建,并介绍了软件环境下六自由度双臂机器人的建模过程。同时,设计了以太网接口与上位... 为了提高小家电装配行业的自动化水平,设计了一种基于KEBA控制器的双臂装配机器人,以取代人工进行复杂的装配工作。详细阐述了双臂机器人控制系统的搭建,并介绍了软件环境下六自由度双臂机器人的建模过程。同时,设计了以太网接口与上位机触摸屏通信,并通过输入/输出(I/O)接口采集传感器数据,确保了机器人的精确控制。通过将三维模型导入仿真软件,模拟双臂机器人进行加湿器水渍清理。按照设计参数进行实时数据仿真,得到了双臂的运动轨迹和工具末端点坐标轨迹。设计了双臂协同运动方案,并建立双臂工作区以防止双臂机器人的双臂碰撞。经过加湿器生产厂家的生产线装配验证,该双臂机器人控制系统运行稳定、可靠,能够显著提高生产效率,并解决人工工作复杂繁重和噪声等问题。该设计为后续的双臂机器人装配示范应用提供了试验数据和工程经验。 展开更多

Smart home is a promising solution to improving the quality of people's life. Much work has been done in the field, but most of these solutions are just based on home gateway, leaving much to be improved. One of its defects is the relatively high energy consuming and its radiation, and the other is that it is not available to the old home appliances which fail to access the internet. Full use of the low energy consuming characteristic of the Zigbee wireless sensor network, a completely new smart home solution is put forward in this paper. Without need of a home gateway and any modification for the currently used family appliances, the method uses the Zigbee coordinator as the central controller and the controllers of appliances as the end devices of Zigbee. It can realize a comfortable and smart home. Experiments show that the scheme proposed is feasible and it will be no doubt to be able to improve the quality of people's daily life. 展开更多

Smart appliances and renewable energy resources are becoming an integral part of smart homes. Nowadays, home appliances are communicating with each other with home short-range home area gateways, using existing network communication protocols such as ZigBee, Bluetooth, RFID, and WiFi. A Gateway allows homeowners and utilities to communicate remotely with the appliances via long-range communication networks such as GPRS, WiMax, LTE, and power liner carrier. This paper utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) concepts to monitor and control home appliances. Moreover, this paper proposes a framework that enables the integration and the coordination of Human-to-Appliance, Utility-to- Appliance, and Appliance-to-Appliance. Utilizing the concepts of Internet of Things leads to one standard communication protocols, TCP/IPV6, which overcomes the many diverse home area networks and neighborhood area networks protocols. This work proposes a cloud based framework that enables the IoTs integration and supports the coordination between devices, as well as with device-human interaction. Development of smart grid technology provides an opportunity to various consumers in context for scheduling their energy utilization pattern by themselves.The main aim of this whole exercise is to minimize energy utilization and reduce the peak to average ratio (PAR) of power.The two way flow of information between electric utilities and consumers in smart grid opened new areas of applications.The main component is this management system is energy management controller (EMC),which collects demand response (DR) i.e.real time energy price from various appliances through the home gateway (HG).An optimum energy scheduling pattern is achieved by EMC through the utilization of DR information.This optimum energy schedule is provided to various appliances via HG.The rooftop photovoltaic system used as local generation micro grid in the home and can be integrated to the national grid.Under such energy management scheme,whenever solar generation is more than the home appliances energy demand,extra power is supplied back to the grid.Consequently,different appliances in consumer premises run in the most efficient way in terms of money.Therefore this work provides the comprehensive review of different smart home appliances optimization techniques,which are based on mathematical and heuristic one. 展开更多
