The hot rheological forming process of the TC11 titanium vane disk under a certain temperature and different strain rates was investigated by using the bulk forming software of DEFORM 3D. A series of results including temperature field, equivalent strain distribution, load-stroke curve and rheology procedure were obtained by this finite element method. The rheological forming characteristics were well realized and the forming parameters were determined. The results and analysis show that with decreasing strain rate, the metal flow more equably and the filling of the vane shape is also better. Moreover, the mechanical properties and microstructures of the products produced by this new technique are improved evidently compared with that produced by traditional method.展开更多

The orbital radius is half of the disk’s diameter (200 mm) and the maximum speed of orbital motion is 500 revolutions per minute. The Reynolds number in the pure-rotation case is 2.77 × 105. The characteristics of two types of traveling vortices are visualized by a smoke-wire method. The first type is transition vortices. In the pure-rotation case, they arise at circumferentially equal intervals, and are not traveling but stationary relative to the rotational disk. The result of visualization of this type shows that the intervals between transient vortices change in a circumferential direction, or in an orbital radial direction, on the rotating disk under orbital motion. The second type is new arc-shaped vortices that correspond to low-frequency disturbances. As orbital speed increases, the radial traveling velocities of the low-frequency disturbances increase and the intervals between low-frequency disturbances decrease.展开更多

The characteristics of velocity field at a fixed orbital angular section measured by a hot-wire anemometer show that the structure of the 3-dimensional boundary layer flow is deformed elliptically and displaced in a certain direction that is not in the orbital radial direction, but the direction of deformation depends on the combination of orbital and rotational directions. For coincide orbital and rotational directions, there are regions where the intensity of low-frequency disturbances increases rapidly in a certain central region (laminar region under pure rotation). The transient vortices, which form streaks on the coating film, are considered to be destroyed by low-frequency disturbances. However, for opposite orbital and rotational directions, the low-frequency disturbances are not observed in any section. As the adding orbital speed increases, the intensity of velocity fluctuations in the turbulence region becomes larger in the expected except in a certain region. This location of the region also depends on the direction of deformation or the combination of orbital and rotational directions.展开更多

In particular, in the case of M 〈 10^(-7.4)M_☉yr^(-1), only rocky planet formation occurs. In such a case, all the solid materials in the disk drift inward, eventually reach the inner MRI front, and accumulate there. They form a dense, thin sub-disk of solid particles, which undergoes gravitational instability to form rocky planetesimals. The planetesimals rapidly grow into a planet through pebble accretion. Consequently, rocky planets tend to be much larger than planets formed through other regimes(tandem planet formation regime and dispersed planet formation regime), in which icy planet formation actively takes place. These rocky planets may evolve into hot Jupiters if they grow fast enough to the critical core mass of the runaway gas accretion before the dispersal of the disk gas, or they may evolve into super-Earths if the gas dispersed sufficiently early.展开更多

The finite volume method is applied to solve the 2D heterogeneous pure conduction. The lattice Boltzmann method is adopted to solve the 1D homogenous radiative transfer equation rather than Rosseland approximation equation. The lattice Boltzmann method is then adopted to solve 1D homogeneous conduction-radiation energy transport equation considering the combined effect of conduction and radiation. To validate the accuracy of the present method, the hot disk method is adopted to measure the effective thermal conductivity of the polyurethane foams at different temperature. The numerical results agree well with the experimental data. Then, the influences of temperature, porosity and cell size on the effective thermal conductivity of the polyurethane foam are investigated. The results show that the effective thermal conductivity of the polyurethane foams increases with temperature; and the effective thermal conductivity of the polyurethane foams decreases with increasing porosity while increases with the cell size.展开更多
