Four sources of surface heat flux (SHF) and the satellite remote sensing sea surface temperature (SST) data are combined to investigate the heat budget closure of the Huanghai Sea (HS) in winter.It is found that heat loss occurs all over the HS during winter and the area averaged heat content change decreases with a rate of-106 W/m 2.Comparing with the area averaged SHF of-150 W/m 2 from the four SHF data sets,it can be concluded that the SHF plays a dominant role in the HS heat budget during winter.In contrast,the heat advection transported by the Huanghai Warm Current (Yellow Sea Warm Current,HWC) accounted for up to 29% of the HS heat content change.Close correlation,especially in February,between the storm events and the SST increase demonstrates that the HWC behaves strongly as a wind-driven compensation current. 展开更多

Satellite remote sensing observations show that during winter, sea surface temperature (SST) presents the structure of double warm tongues in the Huanghai Sea trough: the western and the eastern warm tongues. Numerical experiments based on POM are carried out to study the forming mechanism of this thermal structure and its relation to the Huanghai Sea Warm Current (HSWC). The control experiment reproduces this phenomenon quite well, and comparing experiments investigate the effect of wind and tide. It is found that the western warm tongue is mainly caused by the HSWC, which can be strengthened by wintertime southward wind. The eastern warm tongue develops under the influence of an anti-clockwise circulation which is induced by the temperature front of the Huanghai Sea Cold Water Mass (HSCWM) in summer and autumn. In the eastern portion of this circulation, the northward current carries warm water to the north, forming the eastern warm tongue, which remains till winter. 展开更多

The Huanghai (Yellow) Sea circulations suggested in the past were constructed mostly based on hydrographic data or simple numerical models, and were not rigorously compered with direct current measurements. Ourpresent understanding of the Huanghai Sea circulation is still very poor and superficial. To evaluate our present knowledge about the circulation and to sketch a more realistic circulation pattern, the previous studies on the circulation arebriefly reviewed and directly measured current data collected in the past are revisited. The Huanghai Sea Warm Current and the northeastward extension in summer of the Changjiang diluted water are paid more attention to, which arethe major currents of the basic circulation, and then attempted to sketch the Huanghai Sea circulation by synthesizinghydrography and current data. The Huanghai Sea circulation is not considered to be persistent since the thin water column, less than 100 m, responds quickly and sensitively to external driving forces. Directly measured current data showthat saline water originating from the Kuroshio water turns clockwise around Cheju-do throughout the year and eventually joins the Tsushima Warm Current at the western channel of the Korea Strait. This clockwise current is called theCheju Warm Current. The current data do not support the persistent existence of the Huanghai Sea Warm Current,which has ho believed to supply heat and salt to the Huanghai Sea throughout the year. However, a northward flowis generated intermittently during the weakening phase of cold air outbreaks in winter. The northeast extension of theChangjiang diluted water in summer is evidenced by satellite-tracked surface drifters. 展开更多

On the basis of hydrographic data and current measurement (the mooring system, vessel-mounted ADCP and toward ADCP) data obtained in June 1999, the circulations in the southern Huanghai Sea (HS) and northern East Chin... On the basis of hydrographic data and current measurement (the mooring system, vessel-mounted ADCP and toward ADCP) data obtained in June 1999, the circulations in the southern Huanghai Sea (HS) and northern East China Sea (ECS) are computed by using the modified inverse method. The Kuroshio flows northeastward through eastern part of the investigated region and has the main core at Section PN, a northward flow at the easternmost part of Section PN, a weaker anti-cyclonic eddy between these two northward flows, and a weak cyclonic eddy at the western part of Section PN. The above current structure is one type of the current structures at Section PN in ECS. The net northward volume transport (VT) of the Kuroshio and the offshore branch of Taiwan Warm Current (TWCOB) through Section PN is about 26.2 x 10(6) m(3)/s in June 1999. The VT of the inshore branch of Taiwan Warm Current (TWCIB) through the investigated region is about 0.4 x 10(6) m(3)/s. The Taiwan Warm Current (TWC) has much effect on the currents over the continental shelf. The Huanghai Sea Coastal Current (HSCC) flows southeastward and enters into the northwestern part of investigated region, and flows to turn cyclonically, and then it flows northeastward, due to the influences of the Taiwan Warm Current and topography. There is a cyclonic eddy south of Cheju Island where the Huanghai Sea Coastal Current flows to turn cyclonically. It has the feature of high dense and cold water. The uniform and cold water is occurred in the layer from about 30 m level to the bottom between Stations C306 and C311 at the northernmost Section C3. It is a southern part of the Huanghai Sea Cold Water Mass (HSCWM). 展开更多

The seasonal circulation in the southeastern Huanghai Sea has been studied with hydrographic data,which were observed in February and June 1994 and bimonthly during 1970 - 1990, and numerical model results.Horizontal distributions of tempersture and salinity in 1994 are quite different due to strong tidal mixing so that weneed a analysis to see the real distributions of water masses. The mixing ratio analysis with the data of 1970 - 1990shows the connection of the waters in the west coasts of Korea Peninsula with warm and saline waters from the southin summer, which means northward inflows along the west coasts of Korea Peninsula in summer. With this flow, theseasonal circulations, which are deduced from the seasonal change of water mass distributions in the lower layer, arewarm inflows in winter and cold outflows in summer in the central Huanghai Sea, and cold outflows in winter andwarm inflows in summer along the west coasts of Korea Peninsula. The seasonall changed inflows might be theHuanghai Sea Warm Current. The monsoon winds can drive such circulations. However, summer monsoon winds areweak and irregular. As one of other possible dynamics, the variation of Kuroshio transport is numerically studied withallowing sea level fluctuations. Although it should be studied more, it possibly drives the summer circulations. The realcirculations seem to be driven by both of them. 展开更多

利用NOAA卫星AVHRR图像(使用1992~1994年共22幅图像)选取渤海中的15个特征区域进行分析。根据其年变化曲线,结合渤海的实际情况,讨论了渤海中相应海区的年变化,并且对大部分区域水温变化特征的形成机制进行... 利用NOAA卫星AVHRR图像(使用1992~1994年共22幅图像)选取渤海中的15个特征区域进行分析。根据其年变化曲线,结合渤海的实际情况,讨论了渤海中相应海区的年变化,并且对大部分区域水温变化特征的形成机制进行一些初步的探讨。文中指出,辽西低温中心的动力机制是绕半岛潮流引起的垂直向环流的作用,而正是由于辽东半岛的特殊的地理特征,才可能产生这一明显的低温中心。冬季的黄海暖流在渤海中的作用是非常显著的,它是使冬季渤海中部及南部水温明显高于北部辽东湾水温的重要原因。上述工作证实,利用卫星图像进行海水温度年变化的分析是切实可行的,由此,应充分发挥卫星遥感技术上的优势,以加快海洋学的发展。 展开更多

利用海洋数值模式(MITgcm)模拟了冬季黄海流场并对冬季黄海暖流西偏的机理进行了探讨。冬季黄海流场模拟试验表明,黄海暖流由济州岛以西约32.5°N,125°E附近进入黄海,然后沿着黄海深槽西侧70 m等深线附近向北偏西运动;海面高... 利用海洋数值模式(MITgcm)模拟了冬季黄海流场并对冬季黄海暖流西偏的机理进行了探讨。冬季黄海流场模拟试验表明,黄海暖流由济州岛以西约32.5°N,125°E附近进入黄海,然后沿着黄海深槽西侧70 m等深线附近向北偏西运动;海面高度调整对黄海暖流路径具有重要影响,沿着黄海暖流路径的海面高度梯度比周围海区大,由海面高度梯度产生的地转流引起的北向体积输运占总的北向体积输运的78%。狭长海湾地形控制试验表明,单纯的黄海地形分布不足以引起黄海暖流西偏。黄海典型断面试验与渤海、黄海、东海地形控制试验说明,黄海暖流进入黄海的地理位置对流场分布有重要影响,黄海暖流进入黄海的位置恰好位于深槽西侧地形坡度较大区域,在位涡守恒的约束下黄海暖流受地形捕获沿70 m等深线附近向北偏西运动;试验还表明,黄海暖流进入黄海的位置与东海北部环流和地形分布有关,在冬季风的作用下东海北部环流的一部分沿着地形陡坡进入黄海形成黄海暖流。由此认为,黄海、东海环流在其特殊地形的约束下对冬季风的响应和调整,是引起黄海暖流西偏的主要原因。 展开更多

山东半岛北岸跨锋面物质输运对辽东半岛东岸沉积有机质含量及来源的影响 被引量:1

深入理解气候变化影响下海洋动力过程变化及其多重环境效应,是了解海岸海洋系统未来演化趋势的重要途径。因此,本文在辽东半岛东岸泥质区取柱状样一根,通过沉积物粒度、TOC/TN含量、δ13C以及δ15N等指标,分析气候变化下山东半岛北岸跨... 深入理解气候变化影响下海洋动力过程变化及其多重环境效应,是了解海岸海洋系统未来演化趋势的重要途径。因此,本文在辽东半岛东岸泥质区取柱状样一根,通过沉积物粒度、TOC/TN含量、δ13C以及δ15N等指标,分析气候变化下山东半岛北岸跨锋面物质输运强度变化,及其对辽东半岛东岸泥质区沉积有机质含量和来源的影响。结果表明,高海面时期以来,山东半岛北岸跨锋面物质输运可分为两个变化阶段:6.5~2.9 cal ka BP,其强度随冬季风和黄海暖流的不断减弱而减弱;2.9 cal ka BP至今,由于冬季风较弱而黄海暖流总体强盛,其强度随黄海暖流的波动而呈现4段式的复杂变化。此外,辽东半岛东岸泥质区陆源和海源有机质含量与其强度呈正相关,相应于跨锋面物质输运强度的变化,6.5~2.9 cal ka BP期间,陆源和海源有机质含量持续减少,而2.9 cal ka BP至今则呈现复杂的4段式变化。总体上看,自6.5 cal ka BP以来,陆源有机质贡献率不断下降而海源有机质贡献率逐渐上升。 展开更多
