Methods: Using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-restriction fragment length polymorphism technique, the allele and genotype distribution of SNP C677T in the MTHFR gene were investigated in both patients and controls. Results: The frequencies of allele T (40.9% vs 30.4%, P = 0.002, odds ration [OR] = 1.58, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.24-2.02) and mutant homozygote (TT) (18.3% vs. 11.5%, P = 0.023, OR = 1.72, 95% CI: 1.07-2.76) as well as carrier with allele (TT + CT) (63.4% vs. 49.2%, P = 0.0005, OR = 1.79, 95% CI: 1.29-2.48) in infertile patients were significantly higher than those in controls. After patient stratification, the significant differences in distribution of the SNP between each patient subgroup and control group still remained. Conclusion: Our findings indicate that there is an association of SNP C677T in the MTHFR gene with male infertility, suggesting that this polymorphism might be a genetic risk factor for male infertility in Chinese men.展开更多

The barrier heights and ideality factors of Schottky contact are found in the range 0.35 eV (I-V), 0.73 eV (C-V) at 160 K and 0.63 eV (I-V), 0.61 eV (C-V) at 400 K, respectively. It is observed that the zero-bias barrier height decreases and ideality factor n increase with a decrease in temperature, this behaviour is attributed to barrier inhomogeneities by assuming Gaussian distribution at the interface. The calculated value of series resistance (Rs) from the forward I-V characteristics is decreased with an increase in temperature. The homogeneous barrier height value of approximately 0.71 eV for the Pd/Ti Schottky diode has been obtained from the linear relationship between the temperature-dependent experimentally effective barrier heights and ideality factors. The zero-bias barrier height ( ) versus 1/2kT plot has been drawn to obtain evidence of a Gaussian distribution of the barrier heights and values of = 0.80 eV and = 114 mV for the mean barrier height and standard deviation have been obtained from the plot, respectively. The modified Richardson ln(I0/T2)- ( ) versus 1000/T plot has a good linearity over the investigated temperature range and gives the mean barrier height ( ) and Richardson constant (A*) values as 0.796 eV and 6.16 Acm-2K-2 respectively. The discrepancy between Schottky barrier heights obtained from I-V and C-V measurements is also interpreted.展开更多

The thickness of the membranes is ca. 60 μm. Under the conditions of 20 ℃ and 0.1 MPa pressure difference, the permeabilities of H 2, O 2 and N 2 thro ugh the calcined B-Al-ZSM-5 zeolite membranes are 2 298×10 -8 , 1 176 ×10 -8 and 1 368×10 -9 mol/(m 2·s·Pa), respectively. The calculated values of ideal se lectivities of H 2 an d O 2 over N 2 are 16 8 and 8 60, respectively. The data indicate that the c alcin ed zeolite membranes are non-pinhole, non-crack, continuous and perfect.展开更多
