While several methods have been developed for the synthesis of such compounds, some of the reported methods utilize corrosive or toxic catalysts. We report a bismuth (III) triflate catalyzed multicomponent synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles. Bismuth (III) compounds are attractive from a green chemistry perspective because they are remarkably non-toxic and non-corrosive. Multicomponent syntheses save time and generate less waste. 展开更多

This method of preparation has many advantages compared to those methods which are previously reported in the literature. Two compounds have been obtained by the reaction of metal(Cu(II)), 4,4'-bis(imidazol-l-yl)diphenyl thioether(BIDPT) with two carboxylic acids, 4,4'-oxydibenzoic acid(H2oba) and phthalic acid(H2pht). The crystal structures of the resulting compounds, namely {[Cu(BIDPT)(oba)]·H2O}n(1) and {Cu(BIDPT)(pht)}n(2), have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 is of orthorhombic system, space group Pbcn with a = 27.8310(3), b = 10.7791(1), c = 19.3913(2)A, V = 5817.0(3) ?3 and Mr = 656.15. Compound 2 belongs to the monoclinic system, space group C2/c with a = 18.2678(2), b = 11.0259(1), c = 22.906(2) A, β = 97.727(2)o, V = 4571.8(8) A3 and Mr = 545.04. Structural analyses reveal that compounds 1 and 2 respectively exhibit two-dimensional(2D) wavy and corrugated layer structures. Through intermolecular hydrogen bonding, compound 1 is assembled into a 3D supramolecular structure. The thermal stability and ultraviolet spectroscopy properties of the two compounds are also investigated. 展开更多

It was also used for four-component preparation of 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles from benzil or benzoin, aldehydes, primary amine, and ammonium acetate under thermal solvent-free conditions. The remarkable features of this new procedure are high conversions, cleaner reaction, simple experimental and work-up procedures and also the catalyst can be easily separated from the reaction mixture and reused several times without any loss of its activity. 展开更多

As a prevailing cathode material of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),LiCoO_(2)(LCO)still encounters the tricky problems of structural collapse,whose morphological engineering and cation doping are crucial for surmounting the mechanical strains and alleviating phase degradation upon cycling.Hereinafter,we propose a strategy using a zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF)as the self-sacrificing template to directionally prepare a series of LiNi_(0.1)Co_(0.9)O_(2)(LNCO)with tailorable electrochemical properties.The rational selection of sintering temperature imparts the superiority of the resultant products in lithium storage,during which the sample prepared at 700℃(LNCO-700)outperforms its counterparts in cyclability(156.8 mA h g^(-1)at 1 C for 200 cycles in half cells,1 C=275 mA g^(-1))and rate capability due to the expedited ion/electron transport and the strengthen mechanical robustness.The feasibility of proper Ni doping is also divulged by half/full cell tests and theoretical study,during which LNCO-700(167 mA h g^(-1)at 1 C for 100 cycles in full cells)surpasses LCO-700 in battery performance due to the mitigated phase deterioration,stabilized layered structu re,ameliorated electro nic co nductivity,a nd exalted lithium sto rage activity.This work systematically unveils tailorable electrochemical behaviors of LNCO to better direct their practical application. 展开更多

Arylboronic acids reacted with imidazoles smoothly in the presence of a 3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl functionalized silica gel immobilized copper(Ⅱ) catalyst (10 mol%) in methanol without any additives and bases. The reactions generated the corresponding cross-coupling products in good yields. Furthermore, silica-supported copper can be recovered and recycled by a simple filtration procedure and used for five consecutive trials without decreases in activity. 展开更多
