This study investigates how cognitive psychology principles can be integrated into the information architecture design of short-form video platforms,like TikTok,to enhance user experience,engagement,and sharing.Using a questionnaire,it explores TikTok users’habits and preferences,highlighting how social media fatigue(SMF)impacts their interaction with the platform.The paper offers strategies to optimize TikTok’s design.It suggests refining the organizational system using principles like chunking,schema theory,and working memory capacity.Additionally,it proposes incorporating shopping features within TikTok’s interface to personalize product suggestions and enable monetization for influencers and content creators.Furthermore,the study underlines the need to consider gender differences and user preferences in improving TikTok’s sharing features,recommending streamlined and customizable sharing options,collaborative sharing,and a system to acknowledge sharing milestones.Aiming to strengthen social connections and increase sharing likelihood,this research provides insights into enhancing information architecture for short-form video platforms,contributing to their growth and success. 展开更多

In a dynamic environment, it is vital for enterpris e to have flexible information system architecture to integrate ERP, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and E-Commerce (EC). The traditional systems are established o n the ERP-centered flat architecture. This architecture has some disadvantages in supporting the dynamics of enterprises. Firstly, ERP is already a very expens ive and complex system; the extension based on it can only increase the complexi ty and make the implementation more expensive and risky. Secondly, under the arc hitecture, the flexibility is reduced sharply although the execution efficiency is maintained. In a rapid changing environment, flexibility is also an equally i mportant factor besides execution efficiency. Thirdly, it cannot support the dyn amic collaboration efficiently. The prevailing of the flat architecture is not d ue to its advantage but to the big software providers. From the system viewpoint , a hierarchical architecture is proposed. Difference from the current architect ure, in the hierarchical paradigm, ERP is put in the bottom level rather centere d. SCM is the center system, which adopts a multi-agent structure. EC is regard ed as its foreground interface, while ERP and other information system of the pa rtner or internal units are the background executors. EC is the extension of mar ket agent and purchase agent. It fulfills the function of trade on Internet by s ending orders to be executed to SCM and receiving the progress information of th e orders from SCM. After receiving orders from EC, the agent in charge of schedu le in SCM makes preliminary plan in form of instructions (which may be infeasibl e) based on the information of source. Trough the coordination of multi agent, the plan is adjusted to be feasible. Compared with current ERP-centered flat ar chitecture, the hierarchical structure pays more attention to dynamic collaborat ion rather the optimization within the enterprise. At last, two engineering case s, Beijing Shang Pu Electric Ltd and Qingtao Tianyue International Building Mate rial Free Trade City, are presented to illustrate the idea. 展开更多

The Internet is playing an important role in information retrieval, and additionally industrial process manipulation. This paper describes an approach to writing requirements specifications for Internet-based control systems, from which architectures can be derived. The requirements specifications developed are described in terms of a functional model, which is then extended to form an information architecture. Distinct from the functional model, the information architecture provides an indication as to the architectural structure of subsequently developed Internet-based control systems. Three general control structures are generated from the analysis of an information architecture. An integrated-distributed architecture is derived as an ideal implementation, in which a control system is linked to the Internet at all levels of a control system hierarchy. 展开更多

Industrial automation or assembly automation is a strictly monitored environment,in which changes occur at a good speed.There are many types of entities in the focusing environment,and the data generated by these devices is huge.In addition,because the robustness is achieved by sensing redundant data,the data becomes larger.The data generating device,whether it is a sensing device or a physical device,streams the data to a higher-level deception device for calculation,so that it can be driven and configured according to the updated conditions.With the emergence of the Industry 4.0 concept that includes a variety of automation technologies,various data is generated through numerous devices.Therefore,the data generated for industrial automation requires unique Information Architecture(IA).IA should be able to satisfy hard real-time constraints to spontaneously change the environment and the instantaneous configuration of all participants.To understand its applicability,we used an example smart grid analogy.The smart grid system needs an IA to fulfill the communication requirements to report the hard real-time changes in the power immediately following the system.In addition,in a smart grid system,it needs to report changes on either side of the system,i.e.,consumers and suppliers configure and reconfigure the system according to the changes.In this article,we propose an analogy of a physical phenomenon.A point charge is used as a data generating device,the streamline of electric flux is used as a data flow,and the charge distribution on a closed surface is used as a configuration.Finally,the intensity changes are used in the physical process,e.g.,the smart grid.This analogy is explained by metaphors,and the structural mapping framework is used for its theoretical proof.The proposed analogy provides a theoretical basis for the development of such information architectures that can represent data flows,definition changes(deterministic and non-deterministic),events,and instantaneous configuration definitions of entities in the system.The proposed analogy provides a mechanism to perform calculations during communication, using a simpleconcept on the closed surface to integrate two-layer cyber-physical systems(computation, communication, and physical process). The proposed analogyis a good candidate for implementation in smart grid security. 展开更多

The architecture takes the frame structure as single link among applica- tions and between applications and physical storage. All the advantages in form features based inte- grated systems can be found in the frame-based architecture as the frame structure here takes form fea- tures as its primitives. But other advantages, e.g., default knowledge and dynamic domain knowledge can be attached to frames and the frame structure is easy to be changed and extended, which cannot be found in form features based systems, can also be showed in frame based architecture as the frame structure is a typical knowledge representation scheme in artificial intelligence and many researches and interests have put on it. 展开更多

The purpose of this study is to suggest a way of optimized managing and sharing information between standard architectural drawings and construction documents in Korea architectural industry for automated code checking system by linked STEP and XML. To archive this purpose, the authors have analyzed current research and technical development for STEP and XML link and developed a prototype system for sharing information between model based drawings and XML based construction documents. Finally, the authors have suggested practical use scenario of sharing information through linked STEP and XML using test case of automatic code checking. In the paper, the possibility of constructing integrated architectural computing environment through exchange and sharing of drawing information and external data for the whole building life-cycle, from the conceptual design stage to the construction and maintenance stage has been examined. Automated code checking through linked STEP and XML could be enhanced through col-laboration business, more completed code, improved building performance, and reduced construction costs. 展开更多

In these early years of the twenty-first century,we must look at how the truly cross-cutting information technology supports other innovations,and how it will funda-mentally change the information positions of government,private sector and the scientific domain as well as the citizen.In those positions,location will be a prominent linking pin.The classical top-down system architectures of information exchange will be diluted by peer-to-peer and bottom-up channels,forcing us to rethink their designs.We should not only focus on better architectures,but need to attend to a different economy of information exchange,in which the‘client’is not only the information sink,but has become an important source as well.The laws of this rising‘infoconomy’have yet to be settled on.This special issue on‘Digital Earth Applications:Technological design and organizational strategies’brings together a number of papers that shed light on this future information ecosystem in which location-specific information will be exchanged between stakeholders.The introduction presents a framework that combines geoinformation streams and organisations brokering between government,science,private sector and citizens.This novel framework helps us improve the appreciation of those papers. 展开更多
