This alkaline complex is composed of syenite, alkaline syenite and nepheline syenite, but the nepheline syenite occurs inside the alkaline syenite in the pod-like, irregular, lenticular or layered shape. Researches on the petrogenesis of the alkaline complex and the relationship between the alkaline syenite and the nepheline syenite must rely on precise isotopic ages. Previous researches have reported isotopic dating results merely by the 40Ar/39Ar method on hornblende and biotite separated from the alkaline syenite and nepheline syenite. In view of this, the authors have made fairly detailed isotopic geochronological studies of the alkaline syenite and nepheline syenite by using Rb-Sr isochron for the whole rock and minerals, U-Pb for single zircon separate and the 40Ar/39Ar method for hornblende and potash feldspar. The results of this research are completely different from those of previous researches and show that the nepheline syenite was formed far earlier than the alkaline syenite.展开更多

In this area, the rock mass is mainly composed of three lithofacies: biotite granite porphyry, monzonitic granite and light alkali feldspar granite. As a part of the Yidun arc, the Geza arc has common structure and temporal- spatial evolution with the ~idun arc, which has experienced three stages of oceanic crust subduction, collision orogeny and intracontinent convergence stages. The molybdenite ores in the area are mainly hosted in monzonitic granite-porphyry and structural fracture zone, and the ore bodies are strictly controlled by faults. In recent years, great geological prospecting results have been achieved in Xiuwacu, and the deposit has reached a medium scale. However, there are few researches on the metallogenic porphyry. Based on the previous research, we determined the rock-forming and ore-forming age of the porphyry, and found that there were two stages of magmatism intrusion in Xiuwacu: Indosinian and Yanshanian. We also discussed the geochemical characteristics and source area of the rocks in the area.展开更多

The systematic analysis of zircon U-Pb geochronology and bulk geochemistry is used to discuss the magmatic origin (material source and thermal source), tectonic setting, genesis and geotectonic implications of these rocks. The results of this analysis indicate that the parent magma of the first series, representing a transition from I-type to S-type granites, formed from thermally triggered partial melting of deep crustal components in an early island-arc-type igneous complex, similar to an I-type granite, during the continental collision orogenic stage. The parent magma of the second series, corresponding to an S-type granite, formed from the partial melting of forearc accretionary wedge sediments in a subduction zone in the late Palaeozoic-Triassic. During continued collision, the second series magma was emplaced into the first series pluton along a central fault zone in the original island arc region, forming an immiscible puncture-type complex. The deep tectonothermal events associated with the continent-continent collision during the orogenic cycle are constrained by the compositions and origins of the two series. The new information provided by this paper will aid in future research into the dynamic mechanisms affecting magmatic evolution in the West Kunlun orogenic belt.展开更多

In the metasedimentary unit (msuYC), the youngest detrital zircon dated at 318 ± 5 Ma (Mississippian/Pennsylvanian boundary) indicates a Pennsylvanian (or younger) depositional age. The three main age populations peak at 474, 454 and 374 Ma. Preliminary Hf isotope data for two detrital zircons (447 and 655 Ma) yielded ε(Hf) values of -0.32 and 0.48, indicating that their primary sources contained small amounts of recycled crustal components (of Calymmian age; TDM 1.56 Ga). Zircons from the orthogneiss (miuYC; intrusive into msuYC) show a crystallization age of 261.3 - 2.7 Ma (Capitanian; late middle Permian) which is broadly coeval with deformation, and Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic inheritance. Meaningful core-rim relationship between Neoarchean zircon cores and late Permian rims is well defined, indicating the occurrence of Archean crust in this sector of Patagonia. Hf TDM of Permian zircons is mainly Meso-Paleoarchean (2.97-3.35 Ga), with highly negative e(Hf) values (ca, -33). Hf TDM of inherited Neoarchean zircon cores is also Meso-Paleoarchean (3.14-3.45 Ga) but more juvenile (ε(Hf) = -0.3). Hf isotopes reinforce the presence of unexposed ancient crust in this area. Combining geological and isotope data, as well as geophysical models, we identify the Yaminué Complex within the La Esperanza-Yaminué crustal block flanked by two other, distinct crustal blocks: the Eastern block which forms part of the Patagonia terrane sensu stricto, located in the eastern Patagonian region, and the Western block forming part of the Southern Patagonia terrane. Their origins and timing of amalgamation to form the Patagonia composite terrane are also discussed.展开更多
