This study investigated domestic heating in rural areas of Dalian, a city in northeast China. In rural areas of the country, heating devices such as coal boiler, radiator, and/ or air-conditioner are typically used. The Kang, as the main heating system, has been used together with other heating methods for a long time in detached houses, one-story buildings, and quadrangles. Use of the Kang in collective housing is no longer observed. In addition to coal, agricultural wastes have been used to fuel the Kang; the associated CO2 emissions with agricultural fuels are lower than from other heating equipment. Even when a combination of the Kang and other equipment is used, with agricultural waste as fuel, CO2 emissions remain relatively low.展开更多

It contains numerous ingredients with anti-tumor effects. In our previous studies on transplanted hepatomas in rats, KLT could stop the cells in the G2+M stage of cell cycle and then reduce the number of cells entering the stage G0 and G1, but the mechanism of the anti-proliferative effect was unknown. In this experiment, we examined whether KLT inhibits HepG2 cell growth, if so, tried to explore its mechanism. METHODS: KLT at different concentrations was used for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma cells in vitro, respectively. The proliferation inhibitory rate was evaluated by MTT assay, induction of cell apoptosis rate and the protein levels of Fas and Fas ligand (FasL) were determined by flow cytometry (FCM), and the expression of Fas and FasL mRNA was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR. RESULTS: KLT produced an obvious time and dose-dependent inhibitory effect on HepG2 cells, and marked apoptosis was detected by FCM The protein of Fas increased by 11.01%, 18.71%, 28.71% and 37.15%; the protein of FasL increased by 1.49%, 1.91%, 3.27% and 3.38% in comparison with the control (P<0.05). Real-time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR showed that treating HepG2 cells with KLT caused the upregulation of Fas and FasL mRNA. CONCLUSION: KLT inhibits HepG2 growth by inducing apoptosis, which may be mediated through activation of the Fas/FasL pathway. (Hepatobiliary Pancreat Dis Int 2009; 8: 267-272)展开更多

De- spite some effects by using ethanol, acetic acid and heat sa- line for intra-tumor injection in the treatment of liver canc- er, it is difficult to attain a complete cure but bring about injury to the liver to some extent. Hence, searching for other drugs for the local treatment of liver tumor is an im- portant option. This study was designed to set up rat mo- dels of transplanted liver cancer, intra-tumor injection of Kang-Lai-Te (KLT), and negative control (saline) and positive control (ethanol). The effect of intra-tumor injec- tion of KLT in treating transplanted hepatoma in rats and its advantages and disadvantages were assessed and the pos- sibility of its use in treating patients with liver cancer was evaluated. METHODS: Forty rats were divided into 4 groups ( G1, G2, G3 and G4, 10 rats in each group). Different drugs were injected into their implanted hepatoma (G1 with 0.2 ml saline as control, G2 with 10 mg KLT, G3 with 20 mg KLT, G4 with 0.2 ml ethanol). After 3 and 8 days, the hepa- toma volume (HV), the serum levels of albumin, alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase alkaline phosphatase( ALP) and creatinine, as well as the expression of proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in hepatoma were detected. RESULTS: After 3 days, the HVs were smaller in G3 and G4 than in G1 (P <0.05), the serum levels of albumin were higher in G2 and G3 than in Gl and G4 (P <0.05), the se- rum levels of ALT and AST were lower in G2 and G3 than in G4 (P<0.05), the serum levels of ALP was lower in G2 and G3 than in Gl and G4 (P <0. 05), the PCNA labeling indexes (PCNA LI) were lower in G2 and G3 than in Gl and GA (P <0.05). After 8 days, the HVs were smaller in G2, G3 and G4 than in Gl (P <0.05), and the differences of HVs among G2, G3 and G4 were not significant. The serum levels of ALP were lower in G1, G2 and G3 than in G4 (P <0.05), and the PCNA LI were lower in G3 than in Gl andG4 (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Intra-tumor injection of KLT into implan- ted hepatoma is evidently effective, but it is less effective than ethanol. The effect of KLT on liver function is markedly lower than that of ethanol.展开更多

Lipopolysaccharide-induced pyrexia model was used to evaluate antipyretic activity in Wistar rats. The antiin flammatory and antipyretic mechanisms were evaluated by detecting prostaglandins E2, nitric oxide, interleukin-1b and tumour necrosis factora levels using appropriate reagents and ELISA kits. Results: The results revealed that K-601 reduced the level of in flammations in both antiin flammatory models in a dose-dependent manner. The same was true for the antipyretic model. The possible mechanisms of actions were through the inhibition of prostaglandins E2, interleukin-1b, tumour necrosis factora and nitric oxide. Conclusions: K-601 has proven anti-in flammatory and antipyretic actions. The findings provide a scientific basis for the use of K-601 as anti-in flammatory and antipyretic agent in traditional Chinese medicinal practice.展开更多

METHODS: One hundred and forty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into seven groups (20 each): group 1, blank control group without any interference during the study; group 2, CCI4-induced liver fibrosis group; group 3, pig serum-induced liver fibrosis group; group 4, prophylaxis group of CCl4-induced liver fibrosis by Yi-gan-kang; group 5, prophylaxis group of pig serum-induced liver fibrosis by Yi-gan-kang; group 6, treatment group of CCI4-induced liver fibrosis by Yi-gan-kang; group 7, treatment group of CCI4-induced liver fibrosis by Yi-gan-kang. At wk 6,10,14 and 20 (baseline for CCl4., or big serum induction), five rats in each group were anesthetized and their livers were removed for pathological studies including immunohistochemical studies for α-SMA, type I collagen and In situ hybridization of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TTMP-1) mRNA of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). Anti-lipid peroxidation in isolated mitochondria and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) colorimetric assay for proliferation and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-medicated dUTP-biotin nick end-labeling (TUNEL), flow cytometry and electron microscopy for apoptosis in isolated HSCs were also studied. RESULTS: The mean number of pseudolobuli at wk 10, 14 and 20 in the prophylaxis group was significantly less than that in the control group (P<0.05 or 0.01). The effect of prophylaxis at wk 14 in CCI4 rats and at wk 10 in pig serum-induced rats was much better than that of treatment group (P<0.01). The thickness (in μm) of fibers both in pig serum-induced prophylaxis and in treatment groups at wk 14 and. 20 was significantly less than that in control group (P<0.05). The number of fibers both in prophylaxis and in treatment groups from wk 10 or 14 to 20 was significantly less than that in control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The tissue HSC positive rates of type I collagen, α-SMA and TIMP-1 mRNA, which represented the active phenotype of HSCs in tissues, remained very high from wk 6 to the end of model making in control group. While in prophylaxis group, they were at a relatively low level. In treatment group, there was a gradual decreasing trend. Time- and dose-dependent effects of anti-lipid peroxidation on isolated mitochondria, cell proliferation and apoptosis in cultured HSCs were also observed during the study. CONCLUSION: Yi-gan-kang can effectively inhibit or inverse the course of liver fibrogenesis in CCI4- and pig serum-induced rat models.展开更多

CONCLUSION: Yi-gan-kang can effectively inhibit or inverse the course of liver fibrogenesis in CCI4- and pig serum-induced rat models.

文摘Background:To predict the effective targets of Kang’ai injection and analyze the pharmacological mechanism for the treatment of breast cancer based on the method of network pharmacology. Methods:The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology database was used to predict the effective components of the Chinese patent medicine Kang’ai injection, and GeneCards database,Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man database and the Therapeutic Target Database were used to predict the therapeutic targets of breast cancer.Cytoscape 3.7.2 was used to construct active ingredient-disease-target network.String database and Cytoscape 3.7.2 software were used to draw the protein-protein interaction network and obtain the core target.Bioconductor and R language were used to analyze the effective action target for gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis. Results:There were 42 effective active ingredients in the Chinese patent medicine Kang’ai injection, which acted on 105 targets, and it had 32 components that acted on 96 targets associated with breast cancer. The target regulates various biological processes such as inflammation, angiogenesis, apoptosis and cell proliferation, and regulates pathways such as PI3K-Akt signaling pathway,MAPK signaling pathway,AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications and thyroid hormone signaling pathway through gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis. Conclusion:The treatment of breast cancer with the Chinese patent medicine Kang’ai injection is a complex mechanism process with multiple targets, multiple pathways, and multiple choices, which provides a theoretical basis for the further extraction of effective components in the treatment of breast cancer.
文摘Objective: To study the effects of Kang Ai injection + conventional chemotherapy on tumor markers, apoptotic molecules and immune response in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: Patients diagnosed as advanced NSCLC in our hospital during March 2015 - October 2017 were randomly divided into the experimental group receiving Kang Ai injection + conventional chemotherapy and the control group receiving conventional chemotherapy. The contents of tumor markers, apoptotic molecules and immunologic cytokines in serum and the contents of immune cells in peripheral blood were determined before and after chemotherapy. Results: after chemotherapy, the content of CEA, CYFRA21-1, SCC-Ag, GDF15 and Livin in the serum of the two groups decreased significantly, and the content of PDCD5, P53 and Bax increased significantly, and the content of CEA, CYFRA21-1, SCC-Ag, GDF15, Livin in the serum of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the content of PDCD5, P53 and Bax were higher than those of the control group;the content of CD3+ and CD4+ cells in peripheral blood and the content of IFN-γ, IL-2 in serum of control group significantly decreased, whereas the content of CD8+ cells in peripheral blood and the content of IL-4, IL-5 in serum significantly increased after chemotherapy;while the content of CD3+ and CD4+ cells in peripheral blood and the content of IFN-γ, IL-2 in serum of experimental group significantly increased, whereas the content of CD8+ cells in peripheral blood and the content of IL-4, IL-5 in serum significantly decreased after chemotherapy. Conclusion: Kang Ai injection + conventional chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced NSCLC can more significantly decrease the serum tumor markers, regulate the secretion of apoptotic molecules and anti-tumor immune response than conventional chemotherapy.
文摘Objective:To compare the safety and efficacy of Kang’ai injection combined with chemotherapy and chemotherapy alone in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. Methods:The related control and randomized studies from 1966 to October 01,2022,were retrieved in the following databases:China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang databases,Value In Paper,SinoMed,PubMed,Embase and Cochrane Library.A comprehensive literature search was conducted in 7 electronic databases identifying all the relevant randomized controlled trials.Cochrane handbook 5.2.3 was applied to evaluate the quality of included trials, and the RevMan 5.3 software was used to analyze data and assess the publication bias. Results:From the 16 studies reviewed,a total of 1,398 patients were included.Compared with docetaxel+cis-platinum chemotherapy alone,Kang’ai injection combined with docetaxel+cis-platinum chemotherapy showed significant effects in improving clinical response rate(RR:1.40,95%confidence interval(CI)(1.25,1.58)),quality of life score(Karnofsky score)(RR:1.53,95%CI(1.32,1.78)),traditional Chinese medicine syndrome(RR:2.01,95%CI(1.43,2.83))and safety(RR:0.62,95%CI(0.54,0.71)),the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion:Kang’ai injection may increase the therapeutic effectiveness, improve the quality of life, and reduce the toxicity of chemotherapy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. These results require confirmation by further rigorously designed randomized controlled trials(PROSPERO registration number:CRD42020176917).
