The study attempts to analyze the regional cultural characteristics of Britain under the unique geographical environment by taking the development process and characteristics of British landscape garden as the research object.British culture is an important carrier of British landscape garden culture,and the impact of the unique culture of“the empire on which the sun never sets”on formation and development,formal characteristics,temperament and connotation of landscape garden is discussed.

A Brief Analysis Of"Wild and Exquisite"British Natural Landscape Garden

Thanks for the opportunity that sent students to attend the short-term academic class at University of Wales Trinity Saint David at the end of 2019,the author took this opportunity to deeply experience the local customs,cultural customs and landscape of Britain.At the same time,as a landscape design researcher,the author elaborated the design methods and elements of the British natural landscape garden.Through literature reviewing and field feeling,and compared with classical Chinese gardens,the author analyzed their similarities and differences."Wild and exquisite"means"natural and worth thinking".The author analyzed the characteristics of several modern natural landscape garden visited and found out the moment of"wild and exquisite"in British natural landscape garden.

Improving landscape Characteristics in Port Said’s El Sallam Garden via Observational and Space Syntax Analysis

This paper provides a comprehensive examination of El Sallam Garden in Port Said City,concentrating on its landscape characteristics and potential for design enhancement.This study looks at how space syntax can be used to assess the impact of a tree planting design’s spatial configuration on an urban park’s visual fields.Trees play an important role in determining the spatial characteristics of an outdoor space.According to space syntax theory,an urban area is a collection of connected spaces that can be represented by a matrix of quantitative properties known as syntactic measures.Computer simulations can be used to measure the quantitative properties of these matrices.This study uses space syntax techniques to assess how tree configurations and garden area which can affect the social structures of small-scale gardens in Port Said.It also looks at how these techniques can be used to predict the social structures of four garden zones in El Sallam Garden.The study includes an observational and space syntax study through comparative analysis of four garden zones in El Sallam garden.The results of the study show that the area and planting configurations of the garden had a significant effect on the syntactic social and visual measures of the urban garden.The conclusions and recommendations can be a useful tool for landscape architects,urban planners,and legislators who want to enhance public areas and encourage social interaction in urban settings.

Integrating Salt Culture into Rural Revitalization: Planning and Design of a Thematic Creative Agricultural Garden in Jintan, Jiangsu, China

This research establishes a strategic framework for developing a salt culture-themed agricultural garden in Jintan,Jiangsu to boost rural vibrancy and cultural tourism while honoring local salt heritage.It employs the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)for a data-driven and structured approach to evaluate the sustainability and cultural significance of agricultural initiatives.This framework ensures a balanced blend of agriculture,culture,and tourism to foster a sustainable and culturally rich experience.The study highlights the value of structured methodologies in planning culturally impactful agricultural projects.

Adapting the botanical landscape of Melbourne Gardens(Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria)in response to climate change

Botanic gardens around the world maintain collections of living plants for science, conservation, education, beauty and more. These collections change over time-in scope and content-but the predicted impacts of climate change will require a more strategic approach to the succession of plant species and their landscapes. Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria has recently published a 'Landscape Succession Strategy'for its Melbourne Gardens, a spectacular botanical landscape established in 1846. The strategy recognizes that with 1.6 million visitors each year, responsibility for a heritage-listed landscape and the need to care for a collection of 8500 plant species of conservation and scientific importance, planting and planning must take into account anticipated changes to rainfall and temperature. The trees we plant today must be suitable for the climate of the twenty-second century. Specifically, the Strategy sets out the steps needed over the next twenty years to transition the botanic garden to one resilient to the climate modelled for2090. The document includes a range of practical measures and achievable(and at times somewhat aspirational) targets. Climate analogues will be used to identify places in Australia and elsewhere with conditions today similar to those predicted for Melbourne in 2090, to help select new species for the collection. Modelling of the natural and cultivated distribution of species will be used to help select suitable growth forms to replace existing species of high value or interest. Improved understanding of temperature gradients within the botanic garden, water holding capacity of soils and plant water use behaviour is already resulting in better targeted planting and irrigation. The goal is to retain a similar diversity of species but transition the collection so that by 2036 at least 75% of the species are suitable for the climate in 2090. Over the next few years we hope to provide 100% of irrigation water from sustainable water sources, and infrastructure will be improved to adapt to predicted higher temperatures and more climatic extremes. At all times there will be a strong focus on assisting the broader community in their response to climate change.

Suitability Evaluation of Garden Landscape in Chizhou Residential Area

Through the field survey of construction of garden landscape in residential areas,combined with the analytic hierarchy process( AHP),this paper established a reasonable and feasible suitability evaluation system for garden landscape in residential areas. Researches indicated that the environment of garden landscape in residential areas of Chizhou City in Anhui province remains at the level of intermediate and lower level,and there are great differences between different areas. In the later period of the construction,it is recommended to strengthen the construction of soft physical environment for new residential areas,and speed up the improvement of the physical environment of the residential areas already built and under construction,so as to create a livable space with beautiful environment,excellent ecology,deep community culture,and outstanding regional characteristics.

Study on the Plant Furnishing for Garden Landscaping

With the social development and the improvement of living standards, higher demands have been proposed on dwelling environment, plant furnishing in garden landscaping can not only beautify the environment, satisfy the aesthetic requirements of people, but also generate considerable ecological and social benefits. Based on studying the present situation of garden plant furnishing, problems in garden landscaping were found out, principles for scientific and reasonable plant furnishing were proposed as well as favorable methods and artistic theories, it was also put forward that the ecological, scientific and human-oriented plant furnishing was the orientation of garden landscaping.

Interpretation of Peitai Real Scene by Tang Yin in the Ming Dynasty

Peitai Real Scene clearly shows us the gorgeous image of Xu-style gardens in the Ming Dynasty,and discloses the achievement of ancient Xu-style gardens,which is of great significance for studying Xu-style gardens.From the perspective of spatial processing,plant landscaping,architectural style,stone and water layout,this paper brought us back to the ancient glory of Peitai through analyzing this painting,which was extremely valuable for the research on Xu-style gardens.

The Relationship Between Stomatal Movement and Light Intensity Gradient in Three Dendrobium Species Compared with Typical CAM Plants

There is a close relationship between crassulacean acid metabolism and drought tolerance,and a great number of landscape plants which consume less water are necessary to build economic garden.In order to provide the basis for selecting drought-tolerant landscape plants,five species of plants were employed,including Dendrobium chrysotoxum,D.nobile,D.primulinum,Kalanchoblossfeldiana and K.daigremontiana.Exposed to different intensities of light,various samples were collected.The slices were prepared via different techniques.Stomatal movements and stomatal complex structures were observed by scanning electronic microscope and confocal laser scanning microscope.The results indicated that the slices made rapidly from fresh leaves were conductive to inspecting actual stomatal movements and stomatal complex structures as soon as possible.It was found that the stomatal movement of K.daigremontiana,K.blossfeldiana and D.primulinum displayed typical characteristics of crassulacean acid metabolism,while that of D.chrysotoxum and D.nobile did not exhibited obvious characteristics of crassulacean acid metabolism.
