Urban Landscaping Design and Carbon Reduction Planning Countermeasures

As the most significant green ecological resource in densely populated and economically developed areas,urban landscaping plays a pivotal role in carbon sink value and multiple ecosystem service functions.It is a crucial element in the advancement of green and low-carbon initiatives in China’s major cities and the realization of a carbon-neutral vision.By analyzing the relationship between carbon emission reduction and urban landscaping,the paper sorts out and summarizes the basic principles of urban landscaping design,proposes the role of landscape design in urban landscaping,and plans countermeasures for carbon reduction in urban landscaping,with a view to optimizing the construction and management of urban landscaping.

Practice and Exploration of Ideological and Political Teaching in Landscape Design Courses for Environmental Design Majors

To implement the fundamental goal of moral education,based on the teaching practice of landscape design courses,we explore how to integrate value shaping,knowledge transfer,and skill cultivation in the teaching links of landscape design courses in environmental design majors,such as selecting design topics,assigning tasks,researching projects,designing works,designing explanations,and defense.

Variations in Surface Urban Heat Island and Urban Cool Island Intensity:A Review Across Major Climate Zones

The climate has an impact on the urban thermal environment,and the magnitude of the surface urban heat island(SUHI)and urban cool island(UCI)vary across the world’s climatic zones.This literature review investigated:1)the variations in the SUHI and UCI intensity under different climatic backgrounds,and 2)the effect of vegetation types,landscape composition,urban configuration,and water bodies on the SUHI.The SUHI had a higher intensity in tropical(Af(tropical rainy climate,Köppen climate classification),Am(tropical monsoon climate),subtropical(Cfa,subtropical humid climate),and humid continental(Dwa,semi-humid and semi-arid monsoon climate)climate zones.The magnitude of the UCI was low compared to the SUHI across the climate zones.The cool and dry Mediterranean(Cfb,temperate marine climate;Csb,temperate mediterranean climate;Cfa)and tropical climate(Af)areas had a higher cooling intensity.For cities with a desert climate(BWh,tropical desert climate),a reverse pattern was found.The difference in the SUHI in the night-time was greater than in the daytime for most cities across the climate zones.The extent of green space cooling was related to city size,the adjacent impervious surface,and the local climate.Additionally,the composition of urban landscape elements was more significant than their configuration for sustaining the urban thermal environment.Finally,we identified future research gaps for possible solutions in the context of sustainable urbanization in different climate zones.

Plant Diversity in City Parks under the Concept of Landscaping:A Case Study of Hefei City

Driven by the concept of landscaping,this paper analyzed the impact of plant diversity on landscaping function,arrangement methods and community structure by taking plot sampling method as the experimental axis and 3 urban parks in Hefei as the blueprint.Six plots with the size of 20 m×20 m were selected for investigation.There were 56 species of plants belonging to 50 genera and 42 families in the plots of Zhongshan Road City Park,48 species of plants belonging to 44 genera and 40 families in the plots of Four Seasons Flower Sea City Park,and 69 species of plants belonging to 57 genera and 45 families in the plots of Xiaoyaojin Park.The survey results show that there are following problems in city parks:lack of plant effectiveness,too homogeneous plant community,disharmony between landscape and environment,poor plant maintenance and lack of attention to ecological maintenance.Based on this,the optimization measures are put forward:increasing evergreen plants to avoid no scenery in autumn,developing plants with excellent landscape effects and a variety of colorful plants,paying attention to the shaping of spatial structure and landscape pattern,regularly taking care of plants and their surrounding environment.It is expected to provide some reference for the construction and development of Hefei city parks,ensure the healthy and stable development of city parks,and provide ideas and methods for the improvement of plant landscaping in city parks.

Cardiovascular Risk Factors in China

The Annual Report on Cardiovascular Health and Diseases in China(2022) intricate landscape of cardiovascular health in China. This section dissects cardiovascular risk factors in China which including hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, metabolic syndrome and air pollution. Hypertension prevalence has steadily increased in China,with efforts to control it facing challenges in achieving optimal rates, especially in rural areas. Interventions like salt substitutes and intensive blood pressure control show promise but need improvement. Abnormal lipid levels, indicative of dyslipidemia,have risen significantly, posing a risk for cardiovascular diseases. Despite efforts, many patients struggle to achieve target lipid levels, necessitating improved treatment strategies. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus affect millions of adults in China,with long-term complications adding to the disease burden. Early intervention and effective management are crucial to mitigate its impact. Prevalent among older adults, chronic kidney disease is associated with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, necessitating comprehensive management approaches. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome, characterized by a cluster of risk factors, has increased in both adults and adolescents, calling for lifestyle modifications and public health interventions. Ambient and household air pollution remain significant environmental risk factors, despite some improvements in air quality. Continued efforts to reduce emissions are essential for mitigating associated health risks. Addressing these risk factors requires a multifaceted approach, including public health initiatives, policy interventions, and individual-level strategies to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce environmental exposures. Surveillance and research efforts are crucial for monitoring trends and developing effective strategies to lessen the burden of cardiovascular diseases in China.

Application of Major Tree Species for the CAST Stereoscopic Landscape Demonstration Project

Based on the construction of urban landscape forest and application of stereoscopic landscapes in CAST(Chongqing Academy of Science and Technology),Ginkgo biloba L.,Ficus virens Ait.var.sublanceolata(Miq.) Corner,Cinnamomum camphora and Magnolia liliflora were selected as major tree species and stereoscopic landscaping plants for the "CAST Stereoscopic Landscape Demonstration Project".Through investigating landscapes and functions of all these species in the urban landscaping,the authors anaiyzed stereoscopic plant landscapes of the CAST project,summarized application of these tree species in the stereoscopic landscapes,and concluded representativeness of these species in the CAST project.Finally,deficiencies of tree species in the CAST project,their maintenance and management were analyzed to ensure the reasonable application of tree species,and to provide references for the construction of urban landscape forest and popularization of stereoscopic landscapes.

Thinking on the Artistic Conception Creation of Plant Landscaping Design in Chinese Style Garden

In modern Chinese style garden, the designer could express the emotions in garden creation to produce artistic conception with landscape plants, which could make the sightseers desire to integrate with the nature and led to sympathizing with the concept, thereby motivating and arousing people＇s emotion to return to and close to nature. Through the 6 specific characteristics of ＂shape, color, aroma, shadow, sound and art＂ of landscape plants, some ways to build artistic conception in Chinese style garden were introduced in this study to provide references for the creation of artistic conception creation through senses in the future landscaping design.

Study on the Relationship among Literature,Plant Landscaping and Landscape Architecture

By using literature expressions such as singing the praise,attaching morals to plants,and expressing emotions,the relationship between landscape architecture and plants as well as their literature attributes was studied.The relationship between plants and literature was summarized mainly as below:endowing plants with moral implications,indifference to fame and wealth,natural and ecological philosophical views.Correlation between plant literature and natural landscape was elaborated from the formal beauty,fragrance,light and shadow,sound and color beauty of plants,physical literature features of plants,internal relationship between literature connotations of plants and scenic areas was described and studied qualitatively.The study was to achieve the integration of plants,literature,plant landscaping and landscape architecture,and enhance the further research on plant literature,so as to increase cultural elements in plant landscaping,and promote the application of literature characteristics of plants.

Study on Service Platform of Kunming Landscaping Plants Information

For the purpose of Kunming City’s landscaping development and satisfying the needs of botanical garden workers who demand to quickly obtain landscaping plants information and select tree species, a landscaping plant information database was established, which contained almost all Kunming botanical garden plants information. This database was based on Kunming natural environment conditions, and finished by hard work of collecting and analyzing relevant written materials as well as pictures of garden plants. By using B/S Structure model, dynamic web programming language ASP and Photoshop, Dreamweaver as software tools, a Web-based illustrated remote consultation service system of landscaping plants information was constructed.

Exploration of Graduate Student Cultivation Mode of Landscape Architecture under the Background of“Artificial Intelligence+X”

Under the background of“artificial intelligence+X”,the development of landscape architecture industry ushers in new opportunities,and professional talents need to be updated to meet the social demand.This paper analyzes the cultivation demand of landscape architecture graduate students in the context of the new era,and identifies the problems by comparing the original professional graduate training mode.The new cultivation mode of graduate students in landscape architecture is proposed,including updating the target orientation of the discipline,optimizing the teaching system,building a“dualteacher”tutor team,and improving the“industry-university-research-utilization”integrated cultivation,so as to cultivate high-quality compound talents with disciplinary characteristics.

Key Points in the Supervision of Road Landscaping Project——A Case Study of the South 3^(rd) Ring Road in Yanta District of Xi'an City,China

Characteristics of road landscaping were analyzed,as a kind of "linear" landscaping,it could be classified into urban street landscaping,urban ring road and expressway landscaping.Differences between road landscaping projects and other garden landscaping projects or construction projects were analyzed.Landscaping project for the South 3rd Ring Road of Xi'an City(in Yanta District)was taken for an example to summarize construction experience,discuss present conditions and features of garden landscaping supervision in China.The artistic and physiological properties of garden landscaping,as well as the supervision during maintenance period were stressed,but it was also pointed out that garden landscaping supervision in China was actually not given sufficient attention.On this basis,key points in the supervision of road landscaping project were proposed:understanding design ideas,selection of landscape plants,quality control of concealed works,prevention and control of diseases and insects,construction safety management and overall image;only by effectively implementing these key points,a high-quality road landscaping project could be realized to improve the image of a city and beautify its environment.

Causes of Leaf Color and Its Application in Garden Landscaping

Formation of leaf color and classification of foliage trees were briefly described. The species of different leaf colors were enumerated by genus and family, suggestions for garden plant furnishing were put forward according to the psychological and visual characteristics of people while they are presented with different colors of trees.

三维地形数据是数字孪生建设中重要的数字底板要素。本文以Unreal Engine 4渲染为例提出一种基于ArcGIS模型构建器和Landscape的三维地形模型数据构建方法。该方法利用原始地形数据的文件组织,通过模型构建器解析获取转换信息,构建数据读取树;迭代节点时分别对栅格数据与影像数据进行转换,完成地形要素和纹理重组。将该方法应用于重庆市中心城区地形三维数据,实践结果表明本文方法能准确实现地形三维模型数据至Unreal Engine 4渲染资源的转换,可为类似三维模型数据转换问题提供理论与技术参考。

Study on the Plant Furnishing for Garden Landscaping

With the social development and the improvement of living standards, higher demands have been proposed on dwelling environment, plant furnishing in garden landscaping can not only beautify the environment, satisfy the aesthetic requirements of people, but also generate considerable ecological and social benefits. Based on studying the present situation of garden plant furnishing, problems in garden landscaping were found out, principles for scientific and reasonable plant furnishing were proposed as well as favorable methods and artistic theories, it was also put forward that the ecological, scientific and human-oriented plant furnishing was the orientation of garden landscaping.

Spatio-temporal evolution analysis of landscape pattern and habitat quality in the Qinghai Province section of the Yellow River Basin from 2000 to 2022 based on InVEST model

Habitat quality is an important indicator for evaluating the quality of ecosystem.The Qinghai Province section of the Yellow River Basin plays an important role in the ecological protection of the upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin.To comprehensively analysis the alterations of habitat quality in the Qinghai Province section of the Yellow River Basin,this study utilized the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs(InVEST)model to calculate the habitat quality index and analyze the spatio-temporal variation characteristics of habitat quality in the study area from 2000 to 2022,and calculated seven landscape pattern indices(number of patches,patch density,largest patch index(LPI),landscape shape index(LSI),contagion index(CONTAG),Shannon diversity index,and Shannon evenness index)to research the variation of landscape pattern in the study area.The results showed that the number of patches,patch density,LPI,LSI,Shannon diversity index,and Shannon evenness index increased from 2000 to 2022,while the CONTAG decreased,indicating that the landscape pattern in the Qinghai Province section of the Yellow River Basin changed in the direction of distribution fragmentation,shape complexity,and heterogeneity.The average value of the habitat quality index in the Qinghai Province section of the Yellow River Basin from 2000 to 2022 was 0.90.Based on the value of habitat quality index,we divided the level of habitat quality into five categories:lower(0.00-0.20),low(0.20-0.40),moderate(0.40-0.60),high(0.60-0.80),and higher(0.80-1.00).Most areas were at the higher habitat quality level.The lower habitat quality patches were mainly distributed in Longyang Gorge and Yellow River-Huangshui River Valley.From 2000 to 2022,the habitat quality in most areas was stable;the increase areas were mainly distributed in Guinan County,while the decrease areas were mainly distributed in Xining City,Maqen County,Xinghai County,Qumarleb County,and Darlag County.To show the extent of habitat quality variation,we calculated Sen index.The results showed that the higher habitat quality area had a decrease trending,while other categories had an increasing tendency,and the decreasing was faster than increasing.The research results provide scientific guidance for promoting ecological protection and high-quality development in the Qinghai Province section of the Yellow River Basin.

Roles of cancer-associated fibroblast functional heterogeneity in shaping the lymphatic metastatic landscape:new insights and therapeutic strategies

Lymph node (LN) metastasis is a process in which cancer cells travel from primary tumors to LNs via the lymphatic system,then proliferate and spread within the LNs. In most cancers,LN metastasis is a major mode of cancer dissemination,and a critical indicator of cancer progression and worsening prognosis1. The occurrence of LN metastasis indicates that the tumor has invaded the lymphatic system.
