The SSPP transmission line(TL) is etched with periodically arranged circular patches, which converts the slow-wave mode into the fast-wave region for radiation. The proposed LWA is designed, fabricated, and tested. The simulated results imply that the proposed LWA not only achieves a high radiation efficiency of about 81.4%, and a high scanning rate of 12.12, but also has a large scanning angle of 176° over a narrow operation bandwidth of 8.3-9.6 GHz(for |S_(11)| <-10 dB). In addition, the simulated average gain of the LWA can reach as high as 10.9 d Bi. The measured scanning angle range is 175° in the operation band of 8.2-9.6 GHz, and the measured average gain is 10.6 dBi. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation, validating its performance. An antenna with high radiation efficiency, wide scanning angle range, and high scanning rate has great potential for application in radar and wireless communication systems.展开更多

In this study, we use the finite-difference method to simulate the response of flexural waves in the presence of defects owing to casing corrosion and rough fluctuations at the cement-formation interface. The ultrasonic obliquely incidence could effectively stimulate the flexural waves. The defects owing to casing corrosion change the amplitude of the early- arrival flexural wave, which gradually decrease with increasing defect thickness on the exterior walls and is the lowest when the defect length and wavelength were comparable. The scattering at the defects decreases the energy of flexural waves in the casing that leaks directly to fluids. For rough cement-formation interface, the early-arrival flexural waves do not change, whereas the late-arrival flexural waves have reduced amplitude owing to the scattering at rough interface.展开更多

The phase velocity of QLLSAW on the quartz substrate along some orientations can be up from 6200 m/s to 7100 m/s, circa 100% above that of regular SAW. Both theoretical and experimental results show that QLLSAW propagating along some promising orientations for SAW devices are of small power flow angle and low tem-perature coefficient, for example, along the Euler angle (0°155.25°? 42°?, the measurements of phase velocity and temperature coefficient of delay of QLLSAW are 6201 m/s and 12.9 ppm/℃. The experimental results show that QLLSAW had little absorption by liquid loading on the substrate surface, which proved that the direction of particle motion is the same as wave vector and parallel to the surface of the substrates, i.e., the wave is of the properties of longitudinal wave.展开更多

SDP-FLAM, a combination of FLAM with the steepest descent path algorithm (SDP), is employed to accurately evaluate the spatial-domain Green's functions in a layered medium. According to the theory of complex analysis, the relationship among the poles, branch points and Riemann sheets is also analyzed rigorously. To inverse the Green's functions from spectral to spatial domain, SDP-FLAM method and discrete complex image method (DCIM) are applied to the non-near field region and the near filed region, respectively. The significant advantage of SDP-FLAM lies in its capability of calculating Green's functions in a layered medium of moderate thickness with loss or without loss. Some numerical examples are presented to validate SDP-FLAM method.展开更多
