Private higher vocational colleges in Hainan play an important role in higher education.As Hainan vigorously develops free trade port construction,it is in urgent need of a number of professional and compound talentswho knowforeign languages and applied skills.In line with the characteristics of serving regional development,Hainan private vocational colleges need to further strengthen the cultivation of students’English ability in future teaching to better serve the construction of Hainan free trade port.As we all know,there are many factors that affect students’English learning.In addition to cognitive ability,emotional factors are also among the most important factors.Among the emotional factors,anxiety,as a negative factor,hinders students’English learning to some extent.In this paper,282 non-English major students from Sanya Aviation and Tourism College were selected as the research objects,and SPSS22.0 was used to analyse the collected data through a questionnaire survey to determine the current English classroom learning anxiety of private vocational college students and whether there is a difference in the level of English classroom anxiety among students of different genders,regions and majors.Finally,some relevant suggestions have been put forward to relieve students’English classroom learning anxiety,providing a valuable reference for teachers’future English classroom teaching. 展开更多

With the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port,a large number of talented people who are proficient in English will be demanded.In Hainan Province,there are many vocational colleges that play a very important role in providing talent for future FTP construction.To improve these students’English ability,vocabulary learning is the key factor.English vocabulary learning involves many factors,and emotion is just one of them.When learning English vocabulary,students who have a positive attitude will achieve more than students who are negative.Anxiety,as a negative physiological factor,has a great impact on vocational students’English vocabulary learning.In this study,a questionnaire was used to test the anxiety state of vocational college students’English vocabulary learning,and SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the collected data based on the questionnaire.From this study,vocational college students’vocabulary learning anxiety state can be known,and some useful suggestions are given to relieve the anxiety of students’vocabulary learning based on the results of the survey. 展开更多

Predictors of Foreign Language Anxiety: A Study of College-Level L2 Learners of Chinese 被引量:2

This study investigated seven learner variables (i.e., age, motivation, perception of the difficulty of the Chinese language, self-perceived achievement, self-perceived language learning ability, self-expectation in the Chinese class, and perception of the importance of the Chinese language) as potential predictors of Chinese language learning anxiety. Correlation analyses showed that all seven variables were significantly correlated with anxiety level in isolation. Perception of the difficulty of the Chinese language and age were found to have positive relationships with anxiety, whereas the remaining five variables were reported to have negative relationships. Multiple regression analysis revealed that all the variables except self-expectation in the Chinese class and perception of the importance of the Chinese language contributed significantly to the prediction of Chinese language learning anxiety when examined simultaneously. The five significant predictors altogether explained 34.7% of the variance in anxiety. Perception of the difficulty of the Chinese language was found to be the best predictor and self-perceived achievement the second-best predictor, followed by self-perceived foreign language learning ability, age, and motivation. 展开更多
