It can be seen from the calculation that the vulnerable area along China's coast in which the elevation is less than 5 m, is 143 900 km2, accounting for about 11. 3% of the total area of the 11 coastal provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. These areas are threatened to varying extent by sea level rise. According to prediction, the relative sea level rise (including global sea level rise caused by climate change and local relative as level rise caused by vertical crust movement and ground subsidence) along China's coast will be 4~16 cm by the year 2030 with the optimum estimated value of 6~14cm. It will be 9~26 cm by the year 2050 with the optimum estimated value of 12-23 cm. And it will be 31-74 cm by the year 2100 with the optimum estimated value of 47~65 cm. The calcuation result shows that the percentage of the cost for up-grading (heightening and consolidating) sea dykes/walls in adaptation strategy in the losses of submerged areas varies from area to area: 6. 9% in the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Deta, 1. 3% ~24. 6% in the Changjiang (Yangtze) River Delta, and 0. 9%~2. 0% in the Huanghe River Delta. 展开更多

Consequently, psychological health initiatives are essential to support nurses during a pandemic. This project aims to investigate the stress levels and identify the Coping Strategies of Nurses during the COVID-19 Epidemic in Sharjah Primary Health Center, as they are always at the front line of this epidemic. The nature of their work, they are mainly infected and spread the virus amongst colleagues and family. The target population is nurses working in Sharjah primary health centers, and the number sample is 230. The researcher sent the survey through the link. And in this research, we used two instruments which include the Expanded Nursing Stress Scale and The Coping Strategies Scale (CSS). This study shows that the most stressful factor is related to workload, especially related to unpredictable staffing and scheduling. On the other hand, the most coping strategies were those that were associated with Meaning-focused Coping Strategies, especially believing that valuable lessons can learn from undesirable experiences. 展开更多

This paper describes the integration of a photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy source with a superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system. The integrated system can improve the voltage stability of the utility grid and achieve power leveling. The control schemes employ model predictive control (MPC), which has gained significant attention in recent years because of its advantages such as fast response and simple implementation. The PV system provides maximum power at various irradiation levels using the incremental conductance technique (INC). The interfaced grid side converter of the SMES can control the grid voltage by regulating its injected reactive power to the grid, while the charge and discharge operation of the SMES coil can be managed by the system operator to inject/absorb active power to/from the grid to achieve the power leveling strategy. Simulation results based on MATLAB/Simulink® software prove the fast response of the system control objectives in tracking the setpoints at different loading scenarios and PV irradiance levels, while the SMES injects/absorbs active and reactive power to/from the grid during various events to improve the voltage response and achieve power leveling strategy. 展开更多
