The Development and Innovation of Vocational Education from the Perspective of Lifelong Education

With the continuous advancement of technological innovation,lifelong education has become a key factor in personal career development and social progress.As an important part of the lifelong education system,the development and innovation of vocational education are of great significance to meet the needs of the labor market and promote social equity and economic growth.This article analyzes the intrinsic relationship between the concept of lifelong education and vocational education,focusing on analyzing the development and innovation strategies of vocational education from the perspective of lifelong education.

An Analysis of Polices in Terms of Lifelong Learning

Lifelong learning is a focused issue explored by many scholars.After having reviewed the practices in lifelong leaning policies adopted in many countries and organizations,this paper analyzes the current situation in lifelong learning policies in China,thus to satisfy people's need to live and develop,fulfill spiritual world and level up the quality of life.

The 5-HT2c receptor gene Cys23Ser polymorphism influences the intravaginal ejaculation latency time in Dutch Caucasian men with lifelong premature ejaculation

It has been postulated that the persistent short intravaginal ejaculation latency time （IELT） of men with lifelong premature ejaculation （LPE） is related to 5-hydroxytryptamine （HT）2c receptor functioning. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship of Cys23Ser 5-HT2c receptor gene polymorphism and the duration of IELT in men with LPE. Therefore, a prospective study was conducted in 64 Dutch Caucasian men with LPE. Baseline IELT during coitus was assessed by stopwatch over a 1-month period. All men were genotyped for Cys23Ser 5-HT2c receptor gene polymorphism. Allele frequencies and genotypes of Cys and Ser variants of 5-HT2c receptor gene polymorphism were determined. Association between Cys/Cys and Ser/Ser genotypes and the natural logarithm of the IELT in men with LPE were.investigated. As a result, the geometric mean, median and natural mean IELT were 25.2, 27.0, 33.9s, respectively. Of all men, 20.0%, 10.8%, 23.1% and 41.5% ejaculated within 10, 10-20, 20-30 and 30-60s after vaginal penetration. Of the 64 men, the Cys/Cys and Ser/Ser genotype frequency for the Cys23Ser polymorphism of the 5-HT2c receptor gene was 81% and 19%, respectively. The geometric mean IELT of the wildtypes （Cys/Cys） is significantly lower （22.6s; 95% CI 18.3-27.8s） than in male homozygous mutants （Ser/Ser） （40.4s; 95% CI 20.3-80.4s） （P = 0.03）. It is concluded that Cys23Ser 5-HT2c receptor gene polymorphism is associated with the IELT in men with LPE. Men with Cys/Cys genotype have shorter IELTs than men with Ser/Ser genotypes.

Incorporating Lifelong Education Elements into Teacher Preparation

This paper is committed to advocating the integration of the concept of lifelong education into teacher preparation. It starts with the exploration of the nature of education and teacher preparation, which is followed by an elaboration on some abilities and competences that lifelong education demands of teachers and teacher trainers. Afterwards, following the discussion of some guiding principles regarding educational practices, a brief outline of teacher preparation components allied to methodological proposals to accommodate the principles is presented.

The urban grass-roots library is an important part of the public cultural service system,and also a place to carry out national reading and lifelong learning,which is of great significance to the construction of a learning society.In this paper,the development and evolution of urban grassroots libraries in China are reviewed,and the current situation and usage issues of grassroots libraries in Beijing are analyzed.Moreover,the development strategy of idea stores in London,UK is studied,and characteristics are summarized,and possible references are sought.In the new era,urban grassroots libraries should integrate into communities with multiple functions and play a more sufficient role in public education,learning and training,and other aspects.

Preliminary Investigation of the Interest Education of Retired College Teachers under Lifelong Education

China has a large base of aging population, and its speed entering the aging society and the growth rate are higher than the average level of the world;however, China's awareness and actions against the population aging are relatively backward. Aging education is an important part of lifelong education;more importantly, it is an important manifestation of education to deal with the aging society. The interest education of retired college teachers is an important component of the aging education and lifelong education;laying a solid foundation for the interest education of retired college teachers would make great contributions to China's aging education. Helping the retired college teachers to realize second advancement and promotion of their enterprises, as well as realizing self-values via the guiding method of interest education is an essential way under the scientific outlook on development. The realization of the interest education of retired college teachers lies in three steps;i.e. intensifying college teachers' acknowledgement of the interest education, building and perfecting the interest education institutions for the college teachers, as well as conducting the interest education of the retired college teachers.

Human Rights and Social Justice through Open Educational Resources and Lifelong Learning

A landmark in the realization of UNESCO’s Sustainability Goals,Education for All(SDG4),was passed when the organization’s Recommendation of Open Educational Resources(OER)was uniformly adopted in 2019.Now it is time to transfer from the consciousness of OER to their mainstream realization at all levels,micro,meso,and macro,including all stakeholders,such as governments,institutions,academics,teachers,administrators,librarians,students,learners,and the civil service.The OER Recommendation includes five areas:building capacity and utilizing OER;developing supportive policies;ensuring effectiveness;promoting the creation of sustainable OER models;promoting and facilitating international collaboration;monitoring and evaluation.OER are valued as a catalyst for innovation and the achievement of UNESCO’s SDG 4,education for all,lifelong learning,social justice,and human rights.The OER Recommendation will be a catalyst for the realization of several other SDGs.Because access to quality OER concerns human rights and social justice,this Recommendation is vital.In 2020,the effects of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic clearly demonstrated the importance of opening up education and the access to internationally recognized,qualified learning resources.This article describes and discusses how the promise of resilient,sustainable quality open education can be fulfilled in the new normal and the next normal.

Gender Differences in Motivation and Learning Preferences of Pharmacists in Lifelong Learning

Objectives： To analyse motivation and preferences of pharmacists who participate in CE （continuing education） to develop suitable lifelong learning programmes for pharmacists. Methods： An online questionnaire, which explored the motivation and preferences of the pharmacists to lifelong learning, was sent to all members of the Royal Dutch Pharmaceutical Society （4321） in the Netherlands. The data were analysed using a non-hierarchical clustering technique. Key findings： Two clusters of pharmacists were discovered. Cluster A pharmacists （n = 474） were more motivated by credit points （63.5% vs. 47.2%）, personal interest （84.1% vs. 56.3%）, updating knowledge （73.8% vs. 56.8%） and topicality of CE courses （47.7% vs. 26.1%）. Cluster B pharmacists （n = 199） were predominantly motivated by the aspect ＂duty as a care-giver＂ （97.0% vs. 0 % in cluster A）. Pharmacists who belonged to cluster A tended to be women （60.5%）, often worked part-time （29.3%） and mostly preferred lectures （71.1%）. Cluster B pharmacists consisted of statistically significantly more male pharmacists （52.8%, p = 0.001）, worked more full time （77.4%, p = 0.009） and mostly preferred blended learning （62.3%, p = 0.047）. Conclusions： These results suggest the use of different education formats for different kinds of pharmacists to participate in CE activities.

Efficacy and Safety of Qiaoshao Formula(翘芍方) on Patients with Lifelong Premature Ejaculation of Gan(Liver) Depression and Shen(Kidney) Deficiency Syndrome:A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective： To observe the efficacy and safety of Qiaoshao Formula（翘芍方, QSF） on patients with lifelong premature ejaculation（LPE） of Gan（Liver） depression and Shen（Kidney） deficiency syndrome. Methods： A total of 60 LPE patients were randomly divided into treatment（QSF） and control（dapoxetine） groups. The treatment group received QSF twice a day and the control group received dapoxetine 1 to 2 h prior to planned sexual intercourse for 4 weeks. The outcomes included intra-vaginal ejaculation latency time（IELT）, premature ejaculation diagnostic tool（PEDT）, clinical global impression of change（CGIC）, scores of Chinese medicine symptoms（CMSS）, sex life satisfaction（SLS） and adverse events（AEs）. Results： In the treatment group, the median IELT was 3 min vs. 1.5 min before and after treatment（P〈0.05）. PEDT in the treatment group was reduced to 11.76±1.68 from 15.83±2.30 after treatment（P〈0.05）. Besides, patient＇s SLS was improved from 1.30±0.05 to 6.30±0.04（P〈0.05）, and spouse＇s SLS was increased from 1.30±0.08 to 6.10±0.06（P〈0.05）; CMSS was decrease from 14.86±3.02 to 9.62±2.87（P〈0.05）. In addition, no significant AE was observed in both groups. Conclusion： QSF may be effective and safe on LPE patients with Gan depression and Shen deficiency syndrome.

Abnormal cortical surface-based spontaneous and functional connectivity in the whole brain in lifelong premature ejaculation patients

Recent research has highlighted structural and functional abnormalities in the cerebral cortex of patients with premature ejaculation(PE).These anomalies could play a pivotal role in the physiological mechanisms underlying PE.This study leveraged functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI),a noninvasive technique,to explore these neural mechanisms.We conducted resting-state fMRI scans on 36 PE patients and 22 healthy controls(HC),and collected data on Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool(PEDT)scores and intravaginal ejaculation latency time(IELT).Employing a surface-based regional homogeneity(ReHo)approach,we analyzed local neural synchronous spontaneous activity,diverging from previous studies that utilized a volume-based ReHo method.Areas with significant ReHo differences between PE and HC groups underwent surface-based functional connectivity(FC)analysis.Significant discrepancies in ReHo and FC across the cortical surface were observed in the PE cohort.Notably,PE patients exhibited decreased ReHo in the left triangular inferior frontal gyrus and enhanced ReHo in the right middle frontal gyrus.The latter showed heightened connectivity with the left lingual gyrus and the right orbital superior frontal gyrus.Furthermore,a correlation between ReHo and FC values with PEDT scores and IELT was found in the PE group.Our findings,derived from surface-based fMRI data,underscore specific brain regions linked to the neurobiological underpinnings of PE.

Forget less,count better:a domain-incremental self-distillation learning benchmark for lifelong crowd counting

Crowd counting has important applications in public safety and pandemic control.A robust and practical crowd counting system has to be capable of continuously learning with the newly incoming domain data in real-world scenarios instead of fitting one domain only.Off-the-shelf methods have some drawbacks when handling multiple domains:(1)the models will achieve limited performance(even drop dramatically)among old domains after training images from new domains due to the discrepancies in intrinsic data distributions from various domains,which is called catastrophic forgetting;(2)the well-trained model in a specific domain achieves imperfect performance among other unseen domains because of domain shift;(3)it leads to linearly increasing storage overhead,either mixing all the data for training or simply training dozens of separate models for different domains when new ones are available.To overcome these issues,we investigate a new crowd counting task in incremental domain training setting called lifelong crowd counting.Its goal is to alleviate catastrophic forgetting and improve the generalization ability using a single model updated by the incremental domains.Specifically,we propose a self-distillation learning framework as a benchmark(forget less,count better,or FLCB)for lifelong crowd counting,which helps the model leverage previous meaningful knowledge in a sustainable manner for better crowd counting to mitigate the forgetting when new data arrive.A new quantitative metric,normalized Backward Transfer(nBwT),is developed to evaluate the forgetting degree of the model in the lifelong learning process.Extensive experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed benchmark in achieving a low catastrophic forgetting degree and strong generalization ability.
