New Opportunities for the Development of Regional Architectural Culture in the Process of Globalization

Combining with the new understanding of "globalization" and "regionality",increasingly prominent conflicts between the two are elaborated,right attitude towards the conflicts and fundamental solutions are proposed to settle the conflicts,so as to clarify new opportunities for the development of regional architectural culture in the process of globalization.

Research on Development of Architectural Culture in Meizhu Town,Anhui Province of China

From the perspective of formation,development and connotation of Wu-Yue cultures cultural characteristics of Wu-Yue architecture were systematically summarized as integrated architectural layout and water,proper combination of architecture,religion and culture,unified architectural language,elegant colors,plain building materials and exquisite craft;spiritual peculiarity of Wu-Yue Culture was concluded as inclusive and tolerant,simple but clever;practical and truthful,pioneering and self-transcending.Orientations for architectural style of Meizhu Town were proposed as orderly and rhythmic layouts,abandoning redundancy and pursuing concision,elegant and comfortable,natural and harmonious,proper innovations.

Evolution of Classical Chinese Gardens Based on the Components of Architectural Culture

Based on the structural mode of cultural ecosystem,a structural mode of architectural culture was established in this study by replacing human society,exterior environment and culture in the cultural ecosystem with human activities,architectural environment and architectural culture.Within this mode,architectural engineering technology was in the uttermost layer of the architectural cultural structure,design techniques and written works in the middle layer,and values in the innermost layer.It was applied to analyze the evolution of classical Chinese gardens along the line of dynastic changes,from the perspectives of social consciousness,cultural psychology and aesthetic habit,it was pointed out that classical Chinese gardens have evolved from animal park to landscape garden,from urban residential garden to private garden in the southern regions of the Yangtze River,which also indicated a transition from focusing on exterior forms to stressing practical functions,and such a transition was realized on the basis of social consciousness and values of the time with the help of proper design techniques.

On Demonstration of Urban Architectural Cultures in Counties (Districts)

Through studying current architectural history and culture of counties (districts), environmental art design principles were applied to elaborate the ways of urban architecture expressing cultures from the five perspectives of traditional benevolence and kindheartedness, overall urban planning, art of architecture, regionality of architecture and historical buildings. The study was to provide theoretical and practical basis for the urban construction of counties (districts) in Jiangxi Province.

Characteristic and Functions of Architectural Cultures in Traditional Villages of Ningbo

Further promotion of urbanization has resulted in the broken integrity of architectural environment and cultural system of traditional villages, and some traditional villages with historical architectural styles have been on the verge of extinction. Against the background of building "beautiful Zhejiang and good life", Ningbo City has to optimize the livable environment continuously, integrate natural, humanistic, green, characteristic and comfortable elements into the beautiful countryside construction, thus it is urgent to explore the cultural characteristics and functions of architectural environment in traditional villages. Cultural characteristics and functions of architectural environment in traditional villages of Ningbo should be more systematic, legalized, and scientific. This paper reviewed concepts and cultural connotations of traditional villages, and integrated cultural characteristics and functions of regional architectural environment in traditional villages of Ningbo, and provided references for theoretic researches on the formation of characteristic regional architectural cultures in traditional villages of Ningbo.

Inheritance of Traditional Architectural Culture in the Construction of Characteristic Towns: A Case Study of Qianhouwan Village History and Culture Exhibition Hall in Sanjiang Town, Nanchang County

The construction of characteristic towns is in full swing under the guidance of policies.There have been many outstanding achievements,but many problems are also exposed.Especially for towns with traditional ancient villages,when characteristic towns are built,there is not enough attention to the original traditional architectural culture,or the style is inconsistent and uncoordinated after construction.Based on this,taking the construction of history and culture exhibition hall of Qianhouwan Village in Sanjiang Town of Nanchang County as an example,this paper introduces the design and actual construction situation,and elaborates the inheritance of traditional architectural culture under the background of characteristic town construction in Sanjiang Town.

Connotations of architectural culture transmitted in cliff carvings in the Bashu region

Based on site studies, historical literature investigation and academic communication, this work aims to dig out the cultural significance in architectural and religious aspects conveyed in cliff carvings in the Bashu region. After casting a glance at the origin and evolution of Bashu culture and religion mainly involving Daoism and Buddhism recorded in forms of cliff carvings, we concentrated on discovering the national, regional and folk architectural characters implicated in cliff carvings at different sites within the Bashu region. The cliff carvings in this region vividly depicted the evolution of the architectural culture hereof. The essence of their religious and architectural connotations can be good stuff to be input in today’s architectural design philosophy.

Comparative Study on Characteristics and Development of Chinese and Western Architectural Culture

Architecture is an indispensable part of the development of human civilization and the carrier of human civilization.The evolution of architectural style can also reflect the development of a nation.With the continuous development of history,the preservation and development of historic sites has gradually become a topic of common concern in China and the west.However,with the continuous development of modern technology,there are fewer and fewer traditional cultural elements in the newly-built buildings,which lead to the gradual loss of some traditional architectural culture.In order to avoid the further aggravation of this phenomenon,something should be done.From the perspective of the development characteristics of Chinese and western architectural culture,the characteristics and differences of the development process of Chinese and western architecture were listed from ancient to modern times,and gradually the main reasons for the different development directions and characteristics were analyzed.In addition,according to the law and characteristics of the development of Chinese and western architecture,some methods on how to solve the inheritance of Chinese modern architecture to traditional culture were put forward.

Architecture is a significant branch of visual art, it meets functional needs of daily use, and also reflects social culture and its development tendency. This paper analyzed the relationship between architectural design and visual form, explored the expression means of architectural cultures, so as to grasp the development context of history precisely, enrich architectural design and make it a motive of social cultural development.

The Application of Plant Culture in Architectural Decorations of Classical Gardens of Yangzhou

Investigations were made on the various plant patterns which appeared in the decorations of the two types of gardens, namely private gardens and temple gardens in Yangzhou. Analysis was made of the application of plant elements in each location, their implication of the traditional culture, and the relationship between the garden style, theme and artistic conception, aiming to provide a reference for the application of plant culture in the future garden decorations design.

Architectural Culture of Hakka Walled Villages in Gannan: A Case Study of Yanyi Wei

This paper took Yanyi Wei for example to explore the architectural culture of Hakka walled vil ages in Gannan, including clan culture, defense culture, sacrificial culture, and feng shui culture. It pointed out that there exist problems in Yanyi Wei, such as the disharmony between newly established houses and original buildings, the lack of proper maintenance, and the lack of heirs of walled village culture, and proposed reasonable suggestions about architectural conservation and cultural heritage.

The Interaction between Culture and Space and the Experience of an Architectural Studio

The issues of analyzing the cultural differences in architecture, and the interaction between culture and space have gained importance in many respects both in practice and in education. ＂Culture＂ and conservation of the ＂cultural heritage＂ have a place in the conditions for the ＂architectural education＂ put forward by the UNESCO （The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization）/UIA （International Union of Architects） Council during the 2002 meeting in Berlin. For this purpose, cultural, social, urban, environmental and architectural values and issues of architectural heritage were defined as specific subjects that should be considered in the preparation of the curriculum to build up a sense of responsibility. From this point of view, this paper aims to propose an educational process for dealing with the sense of cultural heritage and its survival in the modern world, and shares the products of the work carried out at the Project 4 Studio at Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture, Yeditepe University, as the studio training is the main component of architectural education. The main issue of the paper is to present some examples of the student projects and to consider the importance of design studio, which can gain knowledge about cultural and architectural heritage and develop students＇ skills to adopt and be respectful to traditional values.

Inheritance and Innovation of Regional Cultures in Architectural Designs of Yichang

Against the background of outstanding traditional Chinese culture and the innovation-drivendevelopment strategy, this study analyzed regional cultures of Yichang where ancient Ba and Chu culturesmet and blended, proposed regional architectural designs adapted to modern conditions, fully clarified thedesign concepts of “deeply exploring, highly condensing, making the past serve the present, inheriting andinnovating” through analyzing the design cases in many regional architectural projects. The paper aimedat further inheriting and developing the outstanding traditional Chinese cultures, and provided theoreticalreferences for future designs.

Rooting Regional Characteristic Culture and Cultivating Students Design Consciousness:Taking the Teaching Reform of Architectural Landscape Design as an Example

China has a vast territory and numerous ethnic groups,forming various regional cultures with different styles.However,the architectural design education in colleges and universities of China used to learn from the West,and there is homogeneity in teaching mode,teaching content,and curriculum system construction,lacking regional cultural characteristics.In the context of regional culture,combined with the cultivation of students'innovation ability,the teaching of the course of Architectural Landscape Design is discussed in this article,in order to promote the inheritance and development of regional culture in landscape design teaching and promote students to truly understand the artistry and practicality of regional cultural resources.

Protection and Inheritance of the Architectural Cultural Heritage of the Longevity Pagoda in Jingzhou

With the ongoing advancement of human civilization,China is increasingly prioritizing the preservation and transmission of its architectural heritage.This study examines the historical development of the Longevity Pagoda in Jingzhou,synthesizing its architectural and artistic characteristics as well as its cultural heritage value.In light of contemporary challenges,the paper proposes strategies for the protection and preservation of the Longevity Pagoda.The aim is to ensure that the Longevity Pagoda continues to realize its distinctive historical,cultural,and social significance in the future.

Study on Bayu Vernacular Architecture and Culture-Baxian-Old-Courtyard

The vernacular architectural culture of the Bayu region is an important part of traditional Chinese architectural culture,of which the old courtyard in Baxian is a typical representative.The purpose of this paper is to explore the connotation and characteristics of Bayu vernacular architectural culture,and to take the old courtyard in Baxian as a specific research object,to analyze its architectural style,cultural connotation,and its value in contemporary society.The study of the old courtyard in Baxian can not only deepen the understanding of Bayu vernacular architectural culture but also provide a useful reference for the protection and inheritance of vernacular architecture.At the same time,this paper also calls for more people to pay attention to and participate in the protection of vernacular architectural culture,and jointly guard these precious historical and cultural heritages.

木栅干栏与高台城垣:工具史视野下青铜时代巴蜀聚落建筑的文化技术探究

本文立足于工具史视野审视青铜时代的巴蜀聚落建筑,阐述以“木栅干栏与高台城垣”为空间特征的聚落建筑文化技术。通过分析以农业栽培及青铜礼器为生业特色的蜀地聚落建筑,以盐泉渔猎及青铜兵器为生业特色的巴地聚落建筑;论述青铜时代巴蜀地区基于生产生活、宗教王权、安全防御等复杂职能的干栏建筑空间逐步走向多样化,同时高台宫室及夯土城垣的大型聚落形态也呈现规模化,并进一步发现其聚落建筑的功能分区明晰,具有显著的轴线及围合性特征;聚落类型可分为木栅城垣与夯土城垣,建筑类型可分为干栏建筑与高台宫室。其中大型祭祀台及宫室区位于聚落核心区域,围绕祭祀台与宫室区形成向心性的仪式空间。这种向心性秩序把青铜时代社会分层系统中类“尖锥体”的等级结构物化于物质空间中,体现了方国联盟集团的共同利益与意志,是青铜时代巴蜀社会制度系统的空间化表达。
