In this study, the p-SAF films consisting of (Co/Ni)3]/Ir(tIr)/[(Ni/Co)3are fabricated by magnetron sputtering technology. We study the domain structure and switching field distribution in p-SAF by changing the thickness of the infrared space layer. The strongest exchange coupling field(Hex) is observed when the thickness of Ir layer(tIr) is 0.7 nm and becoming weak according to the Ruderman–Kittel–Kasuya–Yosida-type coupling at 1.05 nm,2.1 nm, 4.55 nm, and 4.9 nm in sequence. Furthermore, the domain switching process between the upper Co/Ni stack and the bottom Co/Ni stack is different because of the antiferromagnet coupling. Compared with ferromagnet coupling films, the antiferromagnet samples possess three irreversible reversal regions in the first-order reversal curve distribution. With tIrincreasing, these irreversible reversal regions become denser and smaller. The results from this study will help us understand the details of the magnetization reversal process in the p-SAF.展开更多

As a result, the product of Mrand thickness(i.e., the remanent moment-thickness product, Mrt), a key parameter in magnetic recording for reliable data storing and reading, also decreases dramatically. To overcome this issue, we deposit an ultra-thick granular [Co/Pt]80multilayer with a total thickness of 68 nm on granular SiNxbuffer layer. The Mrt value, Mrto saturation magnetization(Ms) ratio as well as out of plane(OOP) coercivity(Hcoop) are high up to 2.97 memu/cm^(2), 67%, and 1940 Oe(1 Oe = 79.5775 A·m^(-1)),respectively, which is remarkably improved compared with that of continuous [Co/Pt]80multilayers. That is because large amounts of grain boundaries in the granular multilayers can efficiently impede the propagation and expansion of reversed magnetic domains, which is verified by experimental investigations and micromagnetic simulation results. The simulation results also indicate that the value of Mrt, Mr/Msratio, and Hcoopcan be further improved through optimizing the granule size, which can be experimentally realized by manipulating the process parameter of SiNxbuffer layer. This work provides an alternative solution for achieving high Mrt value in ultra-thick Co/Pt multilayers, which is of unneglectable potential in applications of high-density magnetic recording.展开更多

文摘The Earth’s“lithosphere”is its outer shell, made up of the Earth’s crust and outermost mantle. The part of the Earth’s magnetic field that originates in the lithosphere consists of a superposition of magnetic anomalies with a broad spectrum of sizes and intensities, which arise from geological and tectonic features. The lithospheric magnetic field is known from surface observations, and on larger scales from above-surface measurements. The increase in recent decades of satellites dedicated to measuring the Earth’s magnetic field has improved significantly our models of the Earth’s magnetic environment.Based on these increasing observations,a number of comprehensive field models have been constructed, some of which focus solely on the lithosphere, such as the MF model series. We present a map of lithospheric magnetic anomalies at 400 km altitude, based on a vertically integrated magnetization model. This height was chosen because it is the expected orbital altitude of the Macao Science Satellite-1(MSS-1)mission.The model presented herein indicates that the amplitude of the lithospheric anomalies at 400 km altitude is between-14.8 n T and 18.2 n T.This information is useful because it provides a reference for the lithospheric source of the Earth’s magnetic field that contributes to the magnetic measurements made from satellite instruments. The low inclination orbit of the MSS-1 mission will provide information that is sensitive to lateral variation within the lithosphere;these variations arise from plate tectonic features with longitudinal extent. In conclusion, the new MSS-1mission will provide valuable information in detecting compositional variations in the lithosphere, and in delineating large-scale geological structures.

文摘Light-induced ultrafast spin dynamics in materials is of great importance for developments of spintronics and magnetic storage technology.Recent progresses include ultrafast demagnetization, magnetic switching, and magnetic phase transitions, while the ultrafast generation of magnetism is hardly achieved. Here,a strong lightinduced magnetization(up to 0.86μBper formula unit)is identified in non-magnetic monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)).With the state-of-the-art time-dependent density functional theory simulations,we demonstrate that the out-of-plane magnetization can be induced by circularly polarized laser, where chiral phonons play a vital role. The phonons strongly modulate spin-orbital interactions and promote electronic transitions between the two conduction band states, achieving an effective magnetic field~380 T.Our study provides important insights into the ultrafast magnetization and spin-phonon coupling dynamics, facilitating effective light-controlled valleytronics and magnetism.

文摘Magnetization roasting is one of the most effective way of utilizing low-grade refractory iron ore. However, the reduction roasting of siderite(FeCO3)generates weakly magnetic wüstite, thus reducing iron recovery via weak magnetic separation. We systematically studied and proposed the fluidized preoxidation-low-temperature reduction magnetization roasting process for siderite. We found that the maghemite generated during the air oxidation roasting of siderite would be further reduced into wüstite at 500 and 550℃due to the unstable intermediate product magnetite(Fe_(3)O_(4)).Stable magnetite can be obtained through maghemite reduction only at low temperature. The optimal fluidized magnetization roasting parameters included preoxidation at 610℃for 2.5 min, followed by reduction at 450℃for 5 min.For roasted ore, weak magnetic separation yielded an iron ore concentrate grade of 62.0wt%and an iron recovery rate of 88.36%.Compared with that of conventional direct reduction magnetization roasting, the iron recovery rate of weak magnetic separation had greatly improved by 34.33%.The proposed fluidized preoxidation-low-temperature reduction magnetization roasting process can realize the efficient magnetization roasting utilization of low-grade refractory siderite-containing iron ore without wüstite generation and is unlimited by the proportion of siderite and hematite in iron ore.

文摘Perpendicular synthetic-antiferromagnet(p-SAF) has broad applications in spin-transfer-torque magnetic random access memory and magnetic sensors. The results from this study will help us understand the details of the magnetization reversal process in the p-SAF.

文摘The spin–orbit torque via the spin Hall effect of heavy metals has shown promising prospect in driving the magnetization switching in spintronic devices due to the generated spin current from heavy metals.Recently, the 3d-light metals have been predicted the ability to generate orbital current and the associated orbital torques from the orbital Hall effect. However, few experiments have been carried out since it is quite hard to directly detect the orbital current-generated orbital torque. Here,we report an effective method to demonstrate the strong orbital torques in light metal Cr through a conversion process from orbital current to spin current by introducing the Pt interfacial layer in perpendicularly magnetized symmetric Pt/Co/Pt structures.A quite large and monotonically growth of orbital torque efficiency in Pt/Co/Pt/Cr with the increase of the thickness of Cr layer is obtained with the largest effective orbital torque efficiency around 2.6 Oe/(MA·cm^(-2))(1 Oe=79.5775 A·m^(-1)).The ability of orbital torque to drive the magnetization switching is also reported with the critical switching current density down to the order of 106A·cm^(-2).Our findings prove the efficiency for switching the magnetization from light metal Cr layers through the orbital Hall effect.

文摘This paper presents an identification method of the scalar Preisach model to consider the effect of reversible magnetization in the process of distribution function identification.By reconsidering the identification process by stripping the influence of reversible components from the measurement data, the Preisach distribution function is identified by the pure irreversible components. In this way,the simulation accuracy of both limiting hysteresis loops and the inner internal symmetrical small hysteresis loop is ensured.Furthermore, through a discrete Preisach plane with a hybrid discretization method, the irreversible magnetic flux density components are computed more efficiently through the improved Preisach model. Finally, the proposed method results are compared with the traditional method and the traditional method considering reversible magnetization and validated by the laboratory test for the B30P105 electrical steel by Epstein frame.

文摘Thanks to the strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA), excellent processing compatibility as well as novel spintronic phenomenon, Co/Pt multilayers have been attracting massive attention and widely used in magnetic storage. However, reversed magnetic domains come into being with the increasing layer repetition ‘N’ to reduce magneto-static energy, resulting in the remarkable diminishment of the remanent magnetization(Mr). This work provides an alternative solution for achieving high Mrt value in ultra-thick Co/Pt multilayers, which is of unneglectable potential in applications of high-density magnetic recording.

文摘In the field of ultrafast magnetism,i.e.,subpicosecond or femtosecond time scales, the dynamics of magnetization can be described by the inertial Landau-Lifhitz-Gilbert equation. In terms of this equation, the intrinsic characteristics are investigated in detail for the theoretical limit of the magnetization reversal field. We can find that there is a critical value for the inertia parameterτ_(c),which is affected by the damping and anisotropy parameter of the system. When the inertial parameter factorτ<τ_(c),the limit value of the magnetization reversal field under the ultrafast magnetic mechanism is smaller than that of the fast magnetic mechanism.Whenτ>τ_(c),the limit value of the magnetization reversal field will be larger than the limit value under the fast magnetic mechanism. Moreover,it is important to point out that the limit value of the magnetization reversal field under the ultrafast magnetic mechanism decreases with the increasing inertial factor,asτ<τ_(c)/2,which increases with inertial factorτasτ>τ_(c)/2.Finally,with the joint action of damping and anisotropy, compared with fast magnetism,we find that the limit value of the magnetization reversal field has rich variation characteristics,i.e.,there is not only a linear and proportional relationship, but also an inverse relationship, which is very significant for the study of ultrafast magnetism.

文摘Macroscopic magnetic properties of magnets strongly depend on the magnetization process and the microstructure of the magnets.Complex materials such as hard-soft exchange-coupled magnets or just real technical materials with impurities and inhomogeneities exhibit complex magnetization behavior. Here we investigate the effects of size, volume fraction, and surroundings of inhomogeneities on the magnetic properties of an inhomogeneous magnetic material via micromagnetic simulations. The underlying magnetization reversal and coercivity mechanisms are revealed.Three different demagnetization characteristics corresponding to the exchange coupling phase,semi-coupled phase, and decoupled phase are found, depending on the size of inhomogeneities. In addition, the increase in the size of inhomogeneities leads to a transition of the coercivity mechanism from nucleation to pinning. This work could be useful for optimizing the magnetic properties of both exchange-coupled nanomagnets and inhomogeneous single-phase magnets.

文摘We studied the magnetic properties and domain evolution of annealed and TbF3-diffused sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets using the electrophoretic deposition method. After TbF_(3)diffusion,the coercivity increased significantly by 9.9 kOe and microstructural analysis suggested that Tb favored the formation of the(Nd,Tb)_(2)Fe_(14)B shell phase in the outer region of the matrix grains. The first magnetization reversal and the dynamic successive domain propagation process were detected with a magneto-optical Kerr microscope. For the TbF_(3)-diffused magnet, the magnetization reversal appeared at a larger applied field and the degree of simultaneous magnetization reversal decreased compared with an annealed magnet.During demagnetization after full magnetization, the occurrence of domain wall motion(DWM)in the reproduced multi-domain regions was observed by the step method. The maximum polarization change resulting from the reproduced DWM was inversely related to the coercivity. The increased coercivity for the diffused magnet was mainly attributed to the more difficult nucleation of the magnetic reversed region owing to the improved magneto-crystalline anisotropy field as a result of Tb diffusion.

文摘Four Sm_(2)Co_(17)magnets with spin-reorientation transition(SRT)of cell boundary phases(CBPs)are prepared by liquid-phase sintering. The temperature of the SRT of CBPs(T_(SR)^(1:5))is regulated from 125 K to 195 K by adding 0 wt.%,3 wt.%,6 wt.%and 9 wt.%Dy_(88)Cu_(12)alloy powder. The effect of SRT of Sm_(2)Co_(17)magnet CBPs on the temperature dependence of the magnetization(M-T)and coercivity(H-T)is systematically investigated. The temperature dependence of the magnetization is influenced by the SRT of CBPs.The M-T curves measured during the heating process are larger than those measured during the cooling process when T<T_(SR)^(1:5).When T=T_(SR)^(1:5)there is a bifurcation point. When T>T_(SR)^(1:5)the M-T curves overlap and the M-T derivation curve shows that the magnetization of the magnet has low temperature dependence of magnetization above T_(SR)^(1:5).With increasing T_(SR)^(1:5),the initial temperature of the low temperature dependence of magnetization shifts towards a higher temperature. The coercivity temperature coefficient becomes positive as the SRT effect increases, and the temperature range of the positive coercivity temperature coefficient moves towards higher temperatures as T_(SR)^(1:5)increases.This reveals that SRT of CBPs has little effect on the temperature dependence of magnetization above T_(SR)^(1:5),while the temperature dependence of coercivity is optimized. The temperature range of magnetization and coercivity with low temperature dependence tends towards higher temperatures, which is conducive to the preparation of magnets with a low temperature coefficient at higher temperatures.

文摘The remnant magnetism in the crust of Martian southern highland is associated with the magnetic sources at an average depth of~32 km.In this work,we investigate the magnetization of Martian crust via 1-D parameterized model for the stagnant-lid mantle convection.According to our model, the magnetization of Martian crust is likely to take place in the top-down manner during 4.1-3.7 Ga.To reproduce the average depth of magnetic sources below the southern highland, magnetite and Mg-ferrite are anticipated to be the magnetic carriers in the Martian crust, implying the serpentinisation therein. If magnetite is the only magnetic carrier in the Martian crust, the early climate must be warm enough to maintain a surface temperature of 300 K during 4.1-3.7 Ga at least.Such a warm climate is more likely to be a regional phenomenon associated with the serpentinisation in the crust of the southern highland or the hot ejecta of Borialis impact depositing on the southern hemisphere.

文摘Spin-orbit torque(SOT)has been considered as one of the promising technologies for the next-generation magnetic random access memory(MRAM).So far,SOT has been widely utilized for inducing various modes of magnetization switching. However,it is a challenge that so many multiple modes of magnetization switching are integrated together. Here we propose a method of implementing both unipolar switching and bipolar switching of the perpendicular magnetization within a single SOT device. The mode of switching can be easily changed by tuning the amplitude of the applied current. We show that the field-like torque plays an important role in switching process. The field-like torque induces the precession of the magnetization in the case of unipolar switching, however, the field-like torque helps to generate an effective zcomponent torque in the case of bipolar switching. In addition, the influence of key parameters on the mode of switching is discussed, including the field-like torque strength, the bias field, and the current density. Our proposal can be used to design novel reconfigurable logic circuits in the near future.
