In this study, methanol-chloroform was used to extract lipid-soluble metabolites and perchloric acid was used to extract water-soluble metabolites. Fur- thermore, a dual phase extraction method using methanol-chloroform and water was used to obtain both water and lipid fractions simultaneously. All metabolite extractions were analyzed on a 9.4T high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. Metabolite resonance peaks were as- signed in the acquired spectra according to the chemical shift, and the extraction efficiency of dif- ferent methods was compared. Results showed that in the spectra of water-soluble extracts, major metabolites comprised low molecular weight metabolites, including lactate, acetic acid, fatty acids, threonine, glutamic acid, creatine, choline and its derivatives, while in the spectra of lipid-soluble extracts, most metabolites were assigned to fatty acids. Among the different extraction procedures, perchloric acid was more efficient in extracting water-soluble metabolites and methanol-chloroform was efficient in extracting organic components compared with the dual phase extraction method. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy showed that as low as 0.7 mg organic yield was enough to obtain clear resonance peaks, while about 6.0 mg water-soluble yield was needed to obtain rela- tively favorable spectral lines. These results show that the efficiency of extracting water and lipid fractions is higher using perchloric acid and methanol-chloroform compared with dual phase ex- traction and that nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is highly sensitive for analyzing lipid-soluble extracts.展开更多

METHODS The study included 22 patients with local PCa who were referred for endorectal magnetic resonance imaging/1HMRSI(April 2002 to July 2007) and ^(18)F-FDG-PET/CT and then underwent prostatectomy as primary or salvage treatment. Whole-mount step-section pathology was used as the standard of reference. We assessed the relationships between PET parameters [standardized uptake value(SUVmax and SUVmean)] and MRSI parameters [choline + creatine/citrate(CC/Cmax and CC/Cmean) and total number of suspicious voxels] using spearman's rank correlation, and the relationships of PET and 1H-MRSI index lesion parameters to surgical Gleason score.RESULTS Abnormal intermediary metabolism on 1H-MRSI was present in 21/22 patients, while abnormal glycolysis on ^(18)F-FDG-PET/CT was detected in only 3/22 patients. Specifically, index tumor localization rates were 0.95(95%CI: 0.77-1.00) for 1H-MRSI and 0.14(95%CI: 0.03-0.35) for ^(18)F-FDG-PET/CT. Spearman rank correlations indicated little relationship(ρ =-0.36-0.28) between 1H-MRSI parameters and ^(18)F-FDG-PET/CT parameters. Both the total number of suspicious voxels(ρ = 0.55, P = 0.0099) and the SUVmax(ρ = 0.46, P = 0.0366) correlated weakly with the Gleason score. No significant relationship was found between the CC/Cmax, CC/Cmean or SUVmean and the Gleason score(P = 0.15-0.79). CONCLUSION The concentration of intermediary metabolites detected by 1H MRSI and glycolytic flux measured ^(18)F-FDG PET show little correlation. Furthermore, only few tumors were FDG avid on PET, possibly because increased glycolysis represents a late and rather ominous event in the progression of PCa.展开更多

In order to study the resonance of a rotating circular plate under static loads in magnetic field, the nonlinear vibration equation about the spinning circular plate is derived according to Hamilton principle. The algebraic expression of the initial deflection and the magneto elastic forced disturbance differential equation are obtained through the application of Galerkin integral method. By mean of modified Multiple scale method, the strongly nonlinear amplitude-frequency response equation in steady state is established. The amplitude frequency characteristic curve and the relationship curve of amplitude changing with the static loads and the excitation force of the plate are obtained according to the numerical calculation. The influence of magnetic induction intensity, the speed of rotation and the static loads on the amplitude and the nonlinear characteristics of the spinning plate are analyzed. The proposed research provides the theory reference for the research of nonlinear resonance of rotating plates in engineering.展开更多

On the basis of the deformation potential energy, the strain potential energy, and the kinetic energy of the circular plate, the Hamilton principle is used to induce the magnetoelastic coupling transverse vibration dynamical equation of the ferromagnetic circular plate. Based on the basic electromagnetic theory, the expressions of the magnet force and the Lorenz force of the circular plate are presented. A displacement function satisfying clamped-edge combined with the Galerkin method is used to derive the Duffing vibration differential equation of the circular plate. The amplitude-frequency response equations of the system under various combined resonance forms are obtained by means of the multi-scale method, and the stability of the steady-state solutions is analyzed according to the Lyapunov theory. Through examples, the amplitude-frequency characteristic curves with different parameters, the amplitude of resonance varying with magnetic field intensity and excitation force, and the time-course response diagram, phase diagram, Poincar′e diagram of the system vibration are plotted, respectively. The effects of different parameters on the amplitude and stability of the system are discussed. The results show that the electromagnetic parameters have a significant effect on the multi-valued attribute and stability of the resonance solutions, and the system may exhibit complex nonlinear dynamical behavior including multi-period and quasi-periodic motion.展开更多

Extending minimum wire spacing and maximum wire width of gradient coils is one of the key solutions to minimize the maximum current density so as to reduce the local heating and generate higher magnetic field gradient strength. However, maximum current density is hard to optimize together with field linearity, stored magnetic energy, and power dissipation by the traditional target field method. In this paper, a new multi-objective method is proposed to optimize the maximum current density, field linearity, stored magnetic energy, and power dissipation in MRI gradient coils. The simulation and experimental results show that the minimum wire spacings are improved by 159% and 62% for the transverse and longitudinal gradient coil respectively. The maximum wire width increases from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm. Maximum gradient field strengths of 157 mT/m and 405 mT/m for transverse and lon- gitudinal coil are achieved, respectively. The experimental results in BT-MRI instrument demonstrate that the MRI images with in-plane resolution of 50 ~tm can be obtained by using the designed coils.展开更多

Due to the prohibitive NMR experiment cost, numerical simulation was employed as an alternative approach to verify some theoretical aspects of NMR responses. Firstly, the basic principles of pore-scale NMR simulation based on random-walk method(RWM) were introduced. The RWM-simulated results were benchmarked with the analytical results for an ideal spherical pore model. Then, the effects of two numerical parameters, namely diffusion radius and walk numbers, were studied on the simulation accuracy. The simulation method is then applied to various pore models with different pore sizes and pore shapes filled with different fluids to study the microscopic NMR response characteristics. The numerical experiments are useful for understanding and interpreting NMR measurements and the simulation code provides a numerical tool to perform pixel-based digital rock analysis.展开更多

A typical ferromagnetic state could be appeared in the measured temperature from 110 K to 300 K and the origin would be contributed to uncompensated surface spin due to its large surface-to-volume ratio and/or a few non-detectable impurities with strong magnetism. Interestingly, another weak ferromagnetic state could present below the temperature about 250 K, indicative of Neel temperature (TN) of antiferromagnetic state, which is slightly lower than that of bulksample of 265 K.展开更多

文摘The construction of modern livable cities faces challenges in karst areas, including ground collapse and engineering problems.Wuhan, with a population of 13.74×10^(6) and approximately 1161 km^(2)of soluble rocks in the urban area of 8569.15 km^(2),predominantly consists of concealed karst areas where occasional ground collapse events occur, posing significant threats to underground engineering projects. To address these challenges,a comprehensive geological survey was conducted in Wuhan, focusing on major karstrelated issues.Geophysical methods offer advantages over drilling in detecting concealed karst areas due to their efficiency,non-destructiveness,and flexibility. This paper reviewed the karst geological characteristics in Wuhan and the geophysical exploration methods for karst, selected eight effective geophysical methods for field experimentation, evaluated their suitability, and proposed method combinations for different karst scenarios. The results show that different geophysical methods have varying applicability for karst detection in Wuhan, and combining multiple methods enhances detection effectiveness. The specific recommendations for method combinations provided in this study serve as a valuable reference for karst detection in Wuhan.

文摘The rotating circular plate is widely used in mechanical engineering, meanwhile the plates are often in the electromagnetic field in modern industry with complex loads. The proposed research provides the theory reference for the research of nonlinear resonance of rotating plates in engineering.

文摘The nonlinear combined resonance problem of a ferromagnetic circular plate in a transverse alternating magnetic field is investigated. The results show that the electromagnetic parameters have a significant effect on the multi-valued attribute and stability of the resonance solutions, and the system may exhibit complex nonlinear dynamical behavior including multi-period and quasi-periodic motion.

文摘Image segmentation is vital when analyzing medical images, especially magnetic resonance(MR)images of the brain.Recently, several image segmentation techniques based on multilevel thresholding have been proposed for medical image segmentation;however, the algorithms become trapped in local minima and have low convergence speeds, particularly as the number of threshold levels increases.Consequently,in this paper,we develop a new multilevel thresholding image segmentation technique based on the jellyfish search algorithm(JSA)(an optimizer). We modify the JSA to prevent descents into local minima, and we accelerate convergence toward optimal solutions. The improvement is achieved by applying two novel strategies:Rankingbased updating and an adaptive method.Ranking-based updating is used to replace undesirable solutions with other solutions generated by a novel updating scheme that improves the qualities of the removed solutions. We develop a new adaptive strategy to exploit the ability of the JSA to find a best-so-far solution;we allow a small amount of exploration to avoid descents into local minima. The two strategies are integrated with the JSA to produce an improved JSA(IJSA)that optimally thresholds brain MR images. To compare the performances of the IJSA and JSA,seven brain MR images were segmented at threshold levels of 3,4,5,6,7,8,10,15,20,25,and 30.IJSA was compared with several other recent image segmentation algorithms, including the improved and standard marine predator algorithms, the modified salp and standard salp swarm algorithms, the equilibrium optimizer, and the standard JSA in terms of fitness, the Structured Similarity Index Metric(SSIM),the peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR),the standard deviation(SD),and the Features Similarity Index Metric(FSIM).The experimental outcomes and the Wilcoxon rank-sum test demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm in terms of the FSIM,the PSNR,the objective values, and the SD;in terms of the SSIM,IJSA was competitive with the others.

文摘Significant high magnetic gradient field strength is essential to obtaining high-resolution images in a benchtop mag- netic resonance imaging (BT-MRI) system with permanent magnet. The experimental results in BT-MRI instrument demonstrate that the MRI images with in-plane resolution of 50 ~tm can be obtained by using the designed coils.

文摘The microscopic response characteristics of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) are widely used for characterizing complex pore structures of rocks. The numerical experiments are useful for understanding and interpreting NMR measurements and the simulation code provides a numerical tool to perform pixel-based digital rock analysis.

文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to validate the accuracy of a new automatic method for scar segmentation and compare its performance with that of two other frequently used segmentation algorithms.Methods:Twenty-six late gadolinium enhancement cardiovascular magnetic resonance images of diseased hearts were segmented by the full width at half maximum(FWHM)method, the n standard deviations(n SD)method, and our new automatic method. The results of the three methods were compared with the consensus ground truth obtained by manual segmentation of the ventricular boundaries. Results:Our automatic method yielded the highest Dice score and the lowest volume difference compared with the consensus ground truth segmentation. The n SD method produced large variations in the Dice score and the volume difference. The FWHM method yielded the lowest Dice score and the greatest volume difference compared with the automatic,6SD,and 8SD methods, but resulted in less variation when different observers segmented the images. Conclusion:The automatic method introduced in this study is highly reproducible and objective.Because it requires no manual intervention,it may be useful for processing large datasets produced in clinical applications.
文摘Magnetic properties of single-crystalline preferential {001}-oriented Bi2Fe4O9nanosheets with thickness of about 13 nm, synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method, have been investigated through variable temperature electron spin resonance measurement. A typical ferromagnetic state could be appeared in the measured temperature from 110 K to 300 K and the origin would be contributed to uncompensated surface spin due to its large surface-to-volume ratio and/or a few non-detectable impurities with strong magnetism. Interestingly, another weak ferromagnetic state could present below the temperature about 250 K, indicative of Neel temperature (TN) of antiferromagnetic state, which is slightly lower than that of bulksample of 265 K.

文摘In recent years, utilizing the low-rank prior information to construct a signal from a small amount of measures has attracted much attention. In this paper,a generalized nonconvex low-rank(GNLR) algorithm for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)reconstruction is proposed, which reconstructs the image from highly under-sampled k-space data.In the algorithm, the nonconvex surrogate function replacing the conventional nuclear norm is utilized to enhance the low-rank property inherent in the reconstructed image. An alternative direction multiplier method(ADMM) is applied to solving the resulting non-convex model.Extensive experimental results have demonstrated that the proposed method can consistently recover MRIs efficiently, and outperforms the current state-of-the-art approaches in terms of higher peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR) and lower high-frequency error norm(HFEN) values.
