The system should make the best of all kinds of information sources around the enterprise, and meet the demand for agile production. This paper presents an implementation scheme of Integrated Equipment Maintenance Management Information System Based on Internet/Intranet and gives component division scheme of each tier. This scheme adopts a three-tiers mode of B/S (Browser/Server) and software programming module based on software reusing technology. This makes the system integrated and open, makes maintenance and updating convenient, and largely increases software safety and reusability.展开更多

Targeted at production opera-tion of the railway transportation department of a mining group and aimed at mine railway equipment management, we have estab-lished a management information system for the equipment in the entire process of the life cycle of equipment. The project deals with basic data about equipment, initial management, maintenance, operation and even disposal, based on a C/S and B/S structure. We adopted an object-oriented approach, dealing with software engineering, information engineering, economic and organizational measures. Thus, effective monitoring and control of the operation of railway equipment and its status in the entire process has been achieved.展开更多

By a specific case, i.e. vernier caliper, it is proved that the fit precision and forecast precision of the models are much higher, the cycles are obviously different under different working conditions, and the forecast result of the frequency sequence model is better than that of the time sequence model. Combining dynamic grey model and auto-manufacturing case the controlling and information subsystems of verification cycle and the lifecycle based on information integration, multi-sensor controlling and management controlling were given. The models can be used in production process to help enterprise reduce error, cost and flaw.展开更多

Some enterprise systems are however more than mere facilitators, they provide the bedrock without which organizations could not function;we term these mandatory systems “non-volitional”(NVS). With hyper-growth in demand for connectivity, telecommunications are typical of sectors where NVS shape the fiercely competitive landscape. Among them, Billing & Revenue Management Systems (BRMS) are a form of credit, providers deliver a service and subscribers later pay for that service. As such, they are “business critical”, meaning failures may affect an organization’s ability to conduct its core business. Failures also impact user satisfaction, a key measure of information systems success. However, relatively few studies empirically test this notion;fewer still evaluate it at organizational (rather than individual) level, while there is a dearth of literature investigating non-volitional systems and, to the best of our knowledge, none whatsoever consider ways of predicting user satisfaction for BRMS. According to a renowned and widely cited conceptual model, user satisfaction is influenced by information, system, and service quality respectively. To test this theory for telecoms BRMS, we applied structural equation modelling to investigate which of these dimensions has the most effect. The results indicate that information quality, system quality, service quality, and user satisfaction are all valid measures of BRMS success. Hypothesized relationships between the four success dimensions were significantly substantiated. The study also identified five measures of information quality, four measures of system quality, four measures of service quality, and four measures of user satisfaction. Once the proposed model had been successfully validated, we tested the level of significance among user satisfaction and the three quality dimensions. Findings showed that service quality had the strongest influence on user satisfaction, with information quality second. This is quite different from other applications considered in our literature review which mostly have information quality as having the strongest impact (knowledge management systems apart).展开更多

As a result, information technology (IT) is now an indispensable tool in the business world, which has a direct impact on company competitiveness and performance. With all the changes in business environment there is also a dramatic shift in the way the management functions. In order to efficiently perform their tasks and thus rise up to the challenges of the information society, managers need not only to master appropriate IT skills, but also to understand the processes launched by the information revolution. The aim of this paper was to determine the extent to which Croatian managers are prepared for the information society. In addition to the data regarding the level of IT equipment at managers' disposal, the paper presents the results on computer usage, self-assessment of IT competencies, and the level of acceptance of modern technologies. Although satisfactory attainment has been recorded in some areas, the results of the analysis reveal that additional effort should be devoted to further improve computer and information literacy of Croatian managers.展开更多
