Assessing green management performance of industrial enterprise:A case study of BH Petrochemical Co.,Ltd at the high-efficiency ecological economic zone of the Yellow River Delta

This paper puts forward the connotation of enterprise green management and green management performance evaluation,analyzes the characteristics of enterprise green management performance evaluation and decomposes its content.Using the triple performance method,the paper constructs the performance evaluation index system of enterprise green management.Taking BH Petrochemical Co.,Ltd.at the high-efficiency ecological economic zone of the Yellow River Delta as an example,by using analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and Matlab programming,this paper determines the weight of each index in the enterprise green management performance evaluation index system,the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to evaluate the green management performance evaluation of industrial enterprises.The results show that the performance evaluation index system of enterprise green management constructed by"triple performance method"has important theoretical significance and application value for evaluating and guiding enterprises to strengthen their green management.

Research and Implementation of Architecture for Distributed Service Performance Management

An architecture for online discovery quantitative models system of service performance management is proposed. The system is capable of constructing the quantitative models without prior knowledge of the managed elements. The model can be updated continuously in response to the changes made in provider configurations and the evolution of business demands. Due to the existence of strong correlation between the distributed service metrics and response times, linear and hyper-linear quantitative models are constructed, which respectively, use stepwise multiple linear regression algorithm. The simulation results show the effectiveness of a quantitative model constructing system and model constructing algorithms.

The Effect of Performance Management System on Employee Productivity in Cross-Border E-Commerce Enterprises in China

The aim of the current research was to analyze how the performance management system of China’s cross-border e-commerce enterprises affects employee productivity.The study was guided by the following research objectives:to investigate the performance management system on employee productivity in cross-border e-commerce enterprises in China;to determine the relationship between the performance management system and employee productivity in cross-border e-commerce enterprises in China.The study adopted a quantitative approach to the effects of performance management practices on employee productivity.The dependent variables included performance appraisals,reward systems,and performance feedback,and the implications on employee productivity as the independent variable.The target population is comprised of 400 employees in China’s cross-border e-commerce enterprises.Descriptive statistics were utilized as a data analysis tool.The demographic profiles of the respondents were analyzed using percentages and frequencies.Inferential statistics such as correlation and regression analysis established the relationship between dependent and independent variables.The study recommends that the performance management practices should be optimized to improve employee performance.Performance reviews should be focused on the contributions of the individual employees to meet the organizational objectives.For every possible opportunity,the manager should formally recognize good employee efforts for enhanced work performance.Effective performance management practices that edify appraisal and reward should be used to achieve organization goals and enhance employee productivity.

On People’s Worries about Becoming a Victim of Events or Conditions Often Blamed on Those up There

The authors study people’s worries about becoming victimized by events and conditions often blamed on“those up there”.Excessive worries are bad for people’s performance because they lead to risk avoidance and lower self-confidence.In two representative surveys conducted in Germany,it is found that victimization concerns are positively correlated with people’s gender,previous victimization,their estimated likelihood of being victimized,their fear of crime,their crime-avoidance behavior,their striving for tradition and security,and their negative attitudes toward crimes.Negative correlations are found for people’s education,their striving for universalism,and their social capital.When considering all predictors combined,people’s expected likelihood to become victimized is found to be the optimal predictor of victimization concerns.It is recommended that management concentrates on setting realistic levels of such risk estimates to avoid negative effects on people’s performance.

Commercial Credit and Corporate Productivity

As an important form of informal finance,commercial credit is widely used among enterprises.Does commercial credit promote the total factor productivity of enterprises?According to the theoretical literature and the reality,using the large sample data of Chinese industrial enterprises,the paper empirically tests the impact of commercial credit on the productivity of enterprises from three aspects:the provision and acquisition of commercial credit and the net commercial credit.The study finds that the provision of commercial credit reduces the productivity level of enterprises;the acquisition of commercial credit fails to promote productivity;while the net commercial credit as a short-term financial buffer for enterprises can alleviate the financing constraints,faced by enterprises,especially private enterprises,which help to increase their productivity levels.In addition,the study found that the higher the marketization process in the region,the more favorable the commercial credit is to the improvement of the production efficiency of private enterprises.

Investigating the influence of segmentation in estimating safety performance functions for roadway sections

Safety performance functions（SPFs） are crucial to science-based road safety management.Success in developing and applying SPFs, apart data quality and availability, depends fundamentally on two key factors： the validity of the statistical inferences for the available data and on how well the data can be organized into distinct homogeneous entities. The latter aspect plays a key role in the identification and treatment of road sections or corridors with problems related to safety. Indeed, the segmentation of a road network could be especially critical in the development of SPFs that could be used in safety management for roadway types, such as motorways（freeways in North America）, which have a large number of variables that could result in very short segments if these are desired to be homogeneous. This consequence, from an analytical point of view, can be a problem when the location of crashes is not precise and when there is an overabundance of segments with zero crashes. Lengthening the segments for developing and applying SPFs can mitigate this problem, but at a sacrifice of homogeneity. This paper seeks to address this dilemma by investigating four approaches for segmentation for motorways, using sample data from Italy. The best results were obtained for the segmentation based on two curves and two tangents within a segment and with fixed length segments. The segmentation characterized by a constant value of all original variables inside each segment was the poorest approach by all measures.

SCStore： Managing Scientific Computing Packages for Hybrid System with Containers

Managing software packages in a scientific computing environment is a challenging task, especially in the case of heterogeneous systems. It is error prone when installing and updating software packages in a sophisticated computing environment. Testing and performance evaluation in an on-the-fly manner is also a troublesome task for a production system. In this paper, we discuss a package management scheme based on containers. The newly developed method can ease the maintenance complexity and reduce human mistakes. We can benefit from the self-containing and isolation features of container technologies for maintaining the software packages among intricately connected clusters. By deploying the Super Computing application Strore（SCStore） over the WAN connected world-largest clusters, it proved that it can greatly reduce the effort for maintaining the consistency of software environment and bring benefit to achieve automation.

Performability analysis of avionics system with multilayer HM/FM using stochastic Petri nets

The integrated modular avionics （IMA） architecture is an open standard in avionics industry, in which the number of functionalities implemented by software is greater than ever before. In the IMA architecture, the reliability of the avionics system is highly affected by the software applications. In order to enhance the fault tolerance feature with regard to software application failures, many industrial standards propose a layered health monitoring/fault management （HM/FM） scheme to periodically check the health status of software application processes and recover the malfunctioning software process whenever an error is located. In this paper, we make an analytical study of the HM/FM system for avionics application software. We use the stochastic Petri nets （SPN） to build a formal model of each component and present a method to combine the components together to form a complete system model with respect to three interlayer query strategies. We further investigate the effectiveness of these strategies in an illustrative system.
