The rheological properties including the complex modulus G* and the phase angle δof matrix and warm mix asphalt (WMA)binders were measured by using the dynamic shear rheometer (DSR ) test at the medium temperatu...The rheological properties including the complex modulus G* and the phase angle δof matrix and warm mix asphalt (WMA)binders were measured by using the dynamic shear rheometer (DSR ) test at the medium temperature ranging from 16 to 40 ℃,and the relationships between the fatigue factor G* sinδand the matrix binder property,WMA additive and test temperature were established.It is found that G* decreases with the increasing temperature while δincreases inversely,and G* of the asphalt binder with high WMA additive dosage is large,and δis small.G*sinδexponentially decreases with the increasing temperature and linearly increases with the increase in additive dosage,and the amplitudes of variation are large at low temperatures and high additive dosages.The effect of WMA additive on the rheological property is more remarkable for the matrix asphalt binder with low G*.Besides,aging has a great effect on the property of matrix asphalt binder,and a slight effect on the interaction between asphalt and additive.The high additive dosage can increase the fatigue cracking potential of the asphalt binder.展开更多

The major secondary influencing factors and the influencing tendency of various factor's levels for the dielectric properties of BST ceramics were obtained. The optimum formula for maximum dielectric constant (ε) and for minimum dielectric loss (tanδ) was obtained under the experimental conditions. The BST ceramics with optimum comprehensive properties was obtained by means of orthogonal design experiments, with the sintering temperature at 1200 ℃, the dielectric constant 5239, the dielectric loss 0.0097, withstand electric voltage over 6 MV·m^-1, capacitance temperature changing ence of various components on the providing the basis for preparation rate (△C/C) - 75.67%, and suited for Y5V character. The mechanism of the infludielectric properties of medium temperature sintering BST ceramics was studied, thus of multilayer capacitor ceramics and single-chip capacitor ceramics.展开更多
Based on the instantaneous pressurization and depressurization produced by high pressure single pole cylinder pump and valve, the effects of the continuous processing on the peroxidase (POD) activity in wax gourd ju...Based on the instantaneous pressurization and depressurization produced by high pressure single pole cylinder pump and valve, the effects of the continuous processing on the peroxidase (POD) activity in wax gourd juices were investigated. Results showed that the processing factors such as pressure, temperature, pH and processing time are important to the POD activity. POD in crude juices could be inactivated apparently above 50 MPa(pH 4.6, 35℃, 4 min), and activated at 20 MPa ( P < 0.01). Its remarkable inactivation could also be observed at 45 and 55℃ (20 MPa, pH 4.6, 4 min), and the evident activation appears at the material temperature 35℃ ( P < 0.01). The pH 3.0 could destroy POD almost completely (20 MPa, 35℃, 4 min), while pH 6.0 could not influence apparently the POD activity in crude juices( P > 0.05). In addition, the rules of POD activity along with the treatment time are variational under different processing pressures. The higher the treating pressure is, the shorter the processing time is needed to inactivate POD.展开更多

Analysis of the 1st law of thermodynamics for an ORC ...A medium-temperature waste-heat recovery system based on the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is designed to recover the exhaust energy from a heavy-duty diesel engine. Analysis of the 1st law of thermodynamics for an ORC system is performed. This analysis contains two parts. The first part is an analysis with undefined heat exchangers to gain an understanding of the ORC and find out suitable organic fluid parameters for a better ORC efficiency. The second part of the analysis uses combined engine test results and two designs of heat exchangers. By comparing the two designs, an improved system of heat exchangers is described. This analysis also quantifies the effect of engine parameters on ORC system. The study concludes that the supercritical Rankine cycle is a better approach towards waste heat recovery. The ORC system is found to perform better under part-load conditions if the medium-high power condition rather than rated working point of the engine is used as the design parameter. The ORC system achieves the highest waste-heat recovery efficiency of up to 10-15% for the optimised heat ex-changer design.展开更多
Iron-based catalysts have been explored for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO due to environmentally benign characters and good SCR activity.Mn-W-Sb modified siderite catalysts were prepared by impregnation meth...Iron-based catalysts have been explored for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO due to environmentally benign characters and good SCR activity.Mn-W-Sb modified siderite catalysts were prepared by impregnation method based on siderite ore,and SCR perfor-mance of the catalysts was investigated.The catalysts were analyzed by X-ray diffrac-tion,H_(2)-temperature-programmed reduction,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller,Thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry and in-situ diffused reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS).The modified siderite catalysts calcined at 450℃ mainly consist of Fe_(2)O_(3),and added Mn,W and Sb species are amorphous.3Mn-5W-1.5Sb-siderite catalyst has a wide temperature window of 180-360℃ and good N_(2) selectivity at low temperatures.In-situ DRIFTS results show NH_(4)^(+),coordinated NH_(3),NH_(2),NO_(3)^(-)species(bidentate),NO_(2)-species(nitro,nitro-nitrito,monodentate),and adsorbed NO_(2) can be discovered on the sur-face of Mn-W-Sb modified siderite catalysts,and doping of Mn will enhance adsorbed NO_(2) formation by synergistic catalysis with Fe^(3+).In addition,the addition of Sb can inhibit sulfates formation on the surface of the catalyst in the presence of SO_(2) and H_(2)O.Time-dependent in-situ DRIFTS studies also indicate that both of Lewis and Br?nsted acid sites play a role in SCR of NO by ammonia at low temperatures.The mechanism of NO removal on the 3Mn-5W-1.5Sb-siderite catalyst can be discovered as a combination of Eley-Rideal and Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanisms with three reaction pathways.The mechanism of NO,oxidized by synergistic catalysis of Fe^(3+)and Mn^(4+/3+)to form NO_(2) among three pathways,reveals the reason of high NO_(x) conversion of the catalyst at medium and low temperatures.展开更多

Results showed that the loss of Vc increased with elevated processing temperatures(50 MPa, 4 min). When the temperature of raw juices was 35℃, the retention of total Vc was higher under 40 - 60 MPa than that under the pressure < 40 MPa or > 60 MPa, and it was up to 94%(4 min). The retention of total Vc decreases slowly within 6 min, but rapidly after 6 min. The pH can also influence the retention of total Vc, and this retention can come to a highest point at pH 6.0.展开更多

A new ASTM standard specification(A1095) has been created for compacted, mixed, and spheroidal graphite silicon-molybdenum iron castings. Based on thermodynamics, the characteristics of mixture and its influence on the performance of ORC under different evaporating temperatures and composition proportions are analyzed. Results show that the zeotropic mixture R245fa/R601a(0.4/0.6) has the highest performance. When the evaporating temperature reaches 67 ℃, the outlet temperature of geothermal water is 61 ℃, the net power output is the highest and the thermal efficiency is about 9%.展开更多
The increase of insulation thickness(IT)results in the decrease of the heat demand and heat medium temperature.A mathematical model on the optimum environmental insulation thickness(OEIT)for minimizing the annual tota...The increase of insulation thickness(IT)results in the decrease of the heat demand and heat medium temperature.A mathematical model on the optimum environmental insulation thickness(OEIT)for minimizing the annual total environmental impact was established based on the amount of energy and energy grade reduction.Besides,a case study was conducted based on a residential community with a combined heat and power(CHP)-based district heating system(DHS)in Tianjin,China.Moreover,the effect of IT on heat demand,heat medium temperature,exhaust heat,extracted heat,coal consumption,carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions and sulfur dioxide(SO_(2))emissions as well as the effect of three types of insulation materials(i.e.,expanded polystyrene,rock wool and glass wool)on the OEIT and minimum annual total environmental impact were studied.The results reveal that the optimization model can be used to determine the OEIT.When the OEIT of expanded polystyrene,rock wool and glass wool is used,the annual total environmental impact can be reduced by 84.563%,83.211%,and 86.104%,respectively.It can be found that glass wool is more beneficial to the environment compared with expanded polystyrene and rock wool.展开更多
