This paper discusses the relationship between language and culture and that between language and memes. In addition, the classification of linguistic memes and the survival law residing in the memes are also expounded. AIM: Biological medicine is hard to fully and scientifically explain the etiological factor and pathogenesis of abnormal behaviors; while, researches on philosophy and psychology (including memetics) are beneficial...AIM: Biological medicine is hard to fully and scientifically explain the etiological factor and pathogenesis of abnormal behaviors; while, researches on philosophy and psychology (including memetics) are beneficial to better understand and explain etiological factor and pathogenesis of abnormal behaviors. At present, the theory of philosophy and psychology is to investigate the entity of abnormal behavior based on the views of memetics. METHODS: Abnormal behavior was researched in this study based on three aspects, including instinctive behavior disorder, poorly social-adapted behavior disorder and mental or body disease associated behavior disorder. Most main viewpoints of memetics were derived from "The Meme Machine", which was written by Susan Blackmore. When questions about abnormal behaviors induced by mental and psychological diseases and conduct disorder of teenagers were discussed, some researching achievements which were summarized by authors previously were added in this study, such as aggressive behaviors, pathologically aggressive behaviors, etc. RESULTS: The abnormal behaviors mainly referred to a part of people's substandard behaviors which were not according with the realistic social environment, culture background and the pathologic behaviors resulted from people's various psychological diseases. According to the theory of "meme", it demonstrated that the relevant behavioral obstacles of various psychological diseases, for example, the unusual behavior of schizophrenia, were caused, because the old meme was destroyed thoroughly but the new meme was unable to establish; psychoneurosis and personality disorder were resulted in hard establishment of meme; the behavioral obstacles which were ill-adapted to society, for example, various additional and homosexual behaviors, were because of the selfish replications and imitations of "additional meme" and "homosexual meme"; various instinct behavioral and congenital intelligent obstacles were not significance for memetics. CONCLUSION: Generation of abnormal behavior is not only caused by complexly biological factors, also by philosophical and psychological entities.展开更多

On June 10,2022,a vicious violence event occurred in Tangshan,which attracted great attention on the Internet,and also caused chain reactions in the society,such as personal safety panic,fierce gender opposition,onlin...On June 10,2022,a vicious violence event occurred in Tangshan,which attracted great attention on the Internet,and also caused chain reactions in the society,such as personal safety panic,fierce gender opposition,online reporting boom,and other ripple effect.There was a lot of counter comments against this event on the Internet.According to incomplete statistics,the counterattacks against Tangshan violence generally include five types:accusation,encouragement,empathy,irony,and retrospection.These counterattacks have the same profound impact as the brutal event itself,and the formation and development of this social impact can be explained and analyzed more or less through memetics.From the perspective of memetics,this paper will make a pragmatic analysis of the online counterattack against the Tangshan violence.The language materials are collected from the highly recognized and widely spreading posts and influential comments on social media such as Sina Weibo and Xiaohongshu.The results show that due to the existence of individual differences,different meme hosts have different understandings of the connotation of linguistic memes,and this understanding bias may lead to different meme hosts having completely different subjective attitudes when dealing with the same linguistic memes.展开更多

Electric-heat coupling characteristics of a cogeneration system and the operating mode of fixing electricity with heat are the main reasons for wind abandonment during the heating season in the Three North area.To imp...Electric-heat coupling characteristics of a cogeneration system and the operating mode of fixing electricity with heat are the main reasons for wind abandonment during the heating season in the Three North area.To improve the wind-power absorption capacity and operating economy of the system,the structure of the system is improved by adding a heat storage device and an electric boiler.First,aiming at the minimum operating cost of the system,the optimal scheduling model of the cogeneration system,including a heat storage device and electric boiler,is constructed.Second,according to the characteristics of the problem,a cultural gene algorithm program is compiled to simulate the calculation example.Finally,through the system improvement,the comparison between the conditions before and after and the simulation solutions of similar algorithms prove the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.The simulation results show that adding the heat storage device and electric boiler to the scheduling optimization process not only improves the wind power consumption capacity of the cogeneration system but also reduces the operating cost of the system by significantly reducing the coal consumption of the unit and improving the economy of the system operation.The cultural gene algorithm framework has both the global evolution process of the population and the local search for the characteristics of the problem,which has a better optimization effect on the solution.展开更多
This paper introduces the third enhanced version of a genetic algorithm-based technique to allow fast and accurate detection of vehicle plate numbers(VPLN)in challenging image datasets.Since binarization of the input ...This paper introduces the third enhanced version of a genetic algorithm-based technique to allow fast and accurate detection of vehicle plate numbers(VPLN)in challenging image datasets.Since binarization of the input image is the most important and difficult step in the detection of VPLN,a hybrid technique is introduced that fuses the outputs of three fast techniques into a pool of connected components objects(CCO)and hence enriches the solution space with more solution candidates.Due to the combination of the outputs of the three binarization techniques,many CCOs are produced into the output pool from which one or more sequences are to be selected as candidate solutions.The pool is filtered and submitted to a new memetic algorithm to select the best fit sequence of CCOs based on an objective distance between the tested sequence and the defined geometrical relationship matrix that represents the layout of the VPLN symbols inside the concerned plate prototype.Using any of the previous versions will give moderate results but with very low speed.Hence,a new local search is added as a memetic operator to increase the fitness of the best chromosomes based on the linear arrangement of the license plate symbols.The memetic operator speeds up the convergence to the best solution and hence compensates for the overhead of the used hybrid binarization techniques and allows for real-time detection especially after using GPUs in implementing most of the used techniques.Also,a deep convolutional network is used to detect false positives to prevent fake detection of non-plate text or similar patterns.Various image samples with a wide range of scale,orientation,and illumination conditions have been experimented with to verify the effect of the new improvements.Encouraging results with 97.55%detection precision have been reported using the recent challenging public Chinese City Parking Dataset(CCPD)outperforming the author of the dataset by 3.05%and the state-of-the-art technique by 1.45%.展开更多
Both unit and integration testing are incredibly crucial for almost any software application because each of them operates a distinct process to examine the product.Due to resource constraints,when software is subject...Both unit and integration testing are incredibly crucial for almost any software application because each of them operates a distinct process to examine the product.Due to resource constraints,when software is subjected to modifications,the drastic increase in the count of test cases forces the testers to opt for a test optimization strategy.One such strategy is test case prioritization(TCP).Existing works have propounded various methodologies that re-order the system-level test cases intending to boost either the fault detection capabilities or the coverage efficacy at the earliest.Nonetheless,singularity in objective functions and the lack of dissimilitude among the re-ordered test sequences have degraded the cogency of their approaches.Considering such gaps and scenarios when the meteoric and continuous updations in the software make the intensive unit and integration testing process more fragile,this study has introduced a memetics-inspired methodology for TCP.The proposed structure is first embedded with diverse parameters,and then traditional steps of the shuffled-frog-leaping approach(SFLA)are followed to prioritize the test cases at unit and integration levels.On 5 standard test functions,a comparative analysis is conducted between the established algorithms and the proposed approach,where the latter enhances the coverage rate and fault detection of re-ordered test sets.Investigation results related to the mean average percentage of fault detection(APFD)confirmed that the proposed approach exceeds the memetic,basic multi-walk,PSO,and optimized multi-walk by 21.7%,13.99%,12.24%,and 11.51%,respectively.展开更多
