Name disambiguation study is necessary to help users find the person of interest more readily. In this paper, we propose an Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) based two-stage strategy for this problem. We get a first-stage clustering result with ART1 model and then merge similar clusters in the second stage. Our strategy is a mimic process of manual disambiguation and need not to predict the number of clusters, which makes it competent for the disambiguation task. Experimental results show that, in comparison with the agglomerative clustering method, our strategy improves the performance by respectively 0.92% and 5.00% on two kinds of name recognition results.展开更多

The dipole responses are investigated each as a function of chain length. They converge into a single resonance in the longitudinal mode but split into two transverse modes. As the chain length increases, the longitudinal plasmon mode is redshifted in energy while the transverse modes shift in the opposite direction (blueshifts). In addition, the energy gap between the two transverse modes reduces with chain length increasing. We find that there are unique characteristics, different from those of other metallic chains. These characteristics are crucial to atomic-scale engineering of single-molecule sensing, optical spectroscopy, and so on.展开更多

Dynamical data modeling methodology is described for decomposing a signal in a coupled structure of binding synergies, in scale-space. Mass conservation principle, along with a generalized uncertainty relation, and the scale-space wave propagation lead to a polynomial decomposition of information. Statistical map of data, through dynamical cascades, gives an effective way of coding and assessing its control structure. Using a multi-scale approach, the scale-space wave information propagation is utilized in computing stochastic resonance synergies (SRS), and a data ensemble is conceptualized within an atomic structure. In this paper, we show the analysis of multidimensional data scatter, exhibiting a point scaling property. We discuss applications in image processing, as well as, in neuroimaging. Functional neuro-cortical mapping by multidimensional scaling is explained for two behaviorally correlated auditory experiments, whose BOLD signals are recorded by fMRI. The point scaling property of the information flow between the signals recorded in those two experiments is analyzed in conjunction with the cortical feature detector findings and the auditory tonotopic map. The brain wave nucleons from an EEG scan, along with a distance measure of synchronicity of the brain wave patterns, are also explained.展开更多

B3LYP/6-311++G(3df,3pd) and RCIS/6-311++G(3df,3pd) calculations were done to elucidate the ultraviolet electronic transitions, the distorted geometry structure and the saddle point of thiourea in 21A excited state, respectively. The resonance Raman spectra were assigned. The absorption spectrum and resonance Raman intensities were modeled using Heller's time-dependent wavepacket approach to resonance Raman scattering. The results indicate that largest change in the displacement takes place with the C--S stretch mode u6 (|△|=0.95) and noticeable changes appear in the H5N3H6+H8N4H7 wag v5 (|△|=0.19), NCN symmetric stretch^-C--S stretch+N3H6+H8N4 wag v4 (|△|=0.18), while the moderate intensities of 2-15 and 4-15 are mostly due to the large excited state frequency changes of v15, but not due to its significant change in the normal mode displacement. The mechanism of the appearance of even overtones of the S-CN2 out of plane deformation is explored. The results indicate that a Franck-Condon region saddle point is the driving force for the quadric phonon mechanism within the standard A-term of resonance Raman scattering, which leads to the pyramidalization of the carbon center and the geometry distortion of thiourea molecule in 21A excited state.展开更多

It is found that with the increase of the anisotropic value of the SA layer, the dipole resonance wavelength of the silver nanoshell first increases and then decreases, while the local field factor (LFF) reduces. With the decrease of SA layer thickness, the dipole wavelength of the silver nanoshell shows a distinct blue-shift. When the SA layer becomes very thin, the modulations of the anisotropy of the SA layer on the plasmon resonance energy and the near-field enhancement are weakened. We further find that the smaller anisotropic value of the SA layer is helpful for obtaining the larger near-field enhancement in the Ag nanoshell. The geometric average of the dielectric components of the SA layer has a stronger effect on the plasmon resonance energy of the silver nanoshell than on the near-field enhancement.展开更多

The bifurcation problem of the coupled NNM of system with 1 : 2 : 5 dual internal resonance is in two variables. The singular analysis of it is presented after separating the two variables by taking advantage of Maple algebra, and some new bifurcation patterns are found. The shell studied here consists of three layers, of which the outer and inner skins are made of solid metal, while the core is FG porous metal foam. Partial differential equations are derived by utilizing the improved Donnell's nonlinear shell theory and Hamilton's principle. Afterwards, the Galerkin method is used to transform the governing equations into nonlinear ordinary differential equations, and an approximate analytical solution is obtained by using the multiple scales method. The effects of various system parameters, specifically, the radial load, core thickness, foam type, foam coefficient, structure damping, and Winkler-Pasternak foundation parameters on nonlinear internal resonance of the sandwich FG porous thin shells are evaluated.展开更多

The results show that the absorption peak of the MNP with respect to the field of the emitting dipole is blue-shifted with the decrease of the spacing between MNP and emitting dipole due to the enhanced multipole resonance. At a short distance, the enhanced multipole terms of scattering are not obvious compared with the dipole term. For the decay rate of the emitting dipole, multipole resonance brings about the enhancement of it largely at short spacing. For the radiative decay rate, the behavior is quite different. The dipole term is dominant at a short spacing, and the multipole term is dominant at a larger spacing.展开更多

Employing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) theory, it obtains the output SNR, and investigates the effects on the output SNR of the system with signal-independent noise and signal-dependent noise respectively. Numerical results show: the curve of the output SNR is monotone with signal-independent noise; whereas SR appears with signal-dependent noise. Moreover, the output SNR enhances rapidly with the increase of N which is the number of elements in this parallel array linear system. This result may provide smart array of simple linear sensors which are capable of acting as noise-aided amplifiers.展开更多

The results show that the latter approach can obtain resonance contributions reasonably well for most excitations of Cu XV, though a comparison between the two approaches shows that the close-coupling effects are truly significant for rather weak excitations, especially for two-electron excitations from the 3s3p4 to 3s23p23d configuration. Resonance contributions are significant (more than two orders of magnitude) for many excitations and dramatically influence the line intensity ratios associated with density diagnostics.展开更多
